Description

The present invention relates to a control device and a control method for a vibration wave driving device such as a vibration type actuator.

Conventionally, various proposals (for example, Patent Document 1) relating to a vibration type actuator that generates an elliptical motion at a predetermined mass point and drives a driven body have been made. For example, a configuration as shown in FIG. Are known.

FIG. 15 is an external perspective view showing an example of a basic configuration of a conventional vibration actuator.

As shown in FIG. 15, the vibrator of this vibration type actuator includes an elastic body 4 made of a metal material formed in a rectangular plate shape, and a piezoelectric element (electro-mechanical energy conversion element) is provided on the back surface of the elastic body 4. ) 5 is joined. A plurality of protrusions 6 are provided at predetermined positions on the upper surface of the elastic body 4.

According to this configuration, by applying an AC voltage to the piezoelectric element 5, a secondary bending vibration in the long side direction of the elastic body 4 and a primary bending vibration in the short side direction of the elastic body 4 are simultaneously generated. Then, elliptical motion is excited in the protrusion 6. The driven body 7 can be linearly driven by the elliptical motion of the protruding portion 6 by bringing the driven body 7 into pressure contact with the protruding portion 6. That is, the protrusion 6 acts as a drive unit for the vibrator.

FIG. 16 is a schematic diagram showing an example of a polarization region of the piezoelectric element 5 in the vibration type actuator shown in FIG. FIGS. 17A and 17B are perspective views showing vibration modes of the elastic body 4, and FIG. 18 is an explanatory diagram for explaining the elliptical motion excited on the protrusion 6 of the elastic body 4. is there.

As shown in FIG. 16, the piezoelectric element 5 is polarized and includes two electrodes A1 and A2. By applying in-phase AC voltages V1 and V2 to the two electrodes A1 and A2, primary bending vibration having two nodes extending in a direction parallel to the long side direction in the rectangular elastic body 4 is generated. Excited. This is the first vibration mode shown in FIG.

Further, by applying AC voltages V1 and V2 having opposite phases to the two electrodes A1 and A2, a secondary bending vibration having three nodes extending in a direction parallel to the short side direction of the rectangular elastic body 4 is obtained. Excited. This is the second vibration mode shown in FIG.

Then, when the elliptical motion is excited in the protrusion 6 by the combination of the first vibration mode and the second vibration mode, and the driven body is brought into pressure contact with the protrusion 6 at this time, the driven body is linearly moved. Can be driven to.

Here, according to the first vibration mode shown in FIG. 17A, the protrusion 6 has a vibration amplitude (hereinafter referred to as a Z-axis amplitude) in a direction perpendicular to the contact surface with which the driven body 7 is in pressure contact. ) Is excited. In addition, the second vibration mode shown in FIG. 17B excites the protrusion 6 to vibrate whose amplitude of vibration (hereinafter referred to as X-axis amplitude) changes in a direction parallel to the driving direction of the driven body. Is done.

By combining the two vibration modes of the first vibration mode and the second vibration mode, elliptical motion can be excited in the protrusion 6 as shown in FIG. 18, and the Z-axis amplitude and the X-axis amplitude are increased. The ratio of the height represents the elliptic ratio of the elliptic motion.

FIG. 19 illustrates changes in the amplitude of vibration of the protrusion 6 in the first vibration mode and the second vibration mode when the phase difference between the two-phase voltages V1 and V2 is changed from −180 degrees to 180 degrees. It is a graph for doing.

The first vibration mode and the second vibration mode when the phase difference between the two-phase AC voltages V1 and V2 applied to the two electrodes A1 and A2 in the polarized piezoelectric element 5 is changed from −180 degrees to 180 degrees. Changes in the amplitude of vibration of the protrusion 6 in the vibration mode are as shown by curves P1 and P2 in FIG. 19, respectively. In the figure, the horizontal axis indicates the phase difference, and the vertical axis indicates the amplitude of vibration in the first vibration mode and the second vibration mode.

The elliptical motion is excited in the protrusion 6 by the combination of the first vibration mode and the second vibration mode, and the elliptical motion of the elliptical motion excited by the protrusion 6 is changed by changing the phase difference between the applied AC voltages V1 and V2. The ratio can be adjusted. In the lower part of FIG. 19, an elliptical shape corresponding to the phase difference on the horizontal axis is shown.

And the drive direction of the to-be-driven body 7 by the vibration-type actuator which drives the to-be-driven body 7 linearly can be switched by changing the phase difference of AC voltage V1, V2 so that the sign of the positive / negative may be switched. . Furthermore, the phase difference is continuously switched from an arbitrary value including a positive / negative sign (for example, the phase difference is continuously changed from 90 degrees to −90 degrees including a positive / negative sign) to thereby change the driving direction. It becomes possible to change the speed continuously.

In addition, the drive speed can be increased by bringing the frequency of the AC voltage applied to the piezoelectric element closer to the resonance frequency of the vibrator, and the drive speed can be increased by moving the frequency of the applied AC voltage away from the resonance frequency of the vibrator. It is generally known that can be slowed down.

For example, in the basic configuration of the vibration type actuator shown in FIG. 15, the relationship between the drive frequency and the drive speed is as shown in FIG. That is, the actuator characteristics are such that the resonance frequency of the vibrator is the peak of the driving speed, the driving speed is gently decreased on the higher frequency side than the resonance frequency, and the driving speed is rapidly decreased on the lower frequency side.

As described above, as shown in FIG. 16, the vibration type actuator including the piezoelectric element 5 subjected to the polarization process performs speed control by changing the frequencies of the two AC voltages V1 and V2 applied to the piezoelectric element 5 ( Frequency control). Further, speed control (phase difference control) can be performed by changing the phases of the AC voltages V1 and V2.

Next, another example of the polarization region of the piezoelectric element 5 of the vibration actuator shown in FIG. 15 will be described.

FIG. 21 is a schematic diagram showing another example of the polarization region of the piezoelectric element 5 in the vibration type actuator of FIG.

As shown in FIG. 21, the piezoelectric element 5 of the present example includes electrodes A1 and A2 that are polarized, and the electrode A1 includes a piezoelectric region that is polarized to “+ (plus)” and “− (minus). ) ”Is provided with a polarized piezoelectric region.

When an AC voltage V2 is applied to the electrode A2 arranged in the piezoelectric region shown in FIG. 21, a primary bending vibration is excited. This is the first vibration mode shown in FIG. Further, when the AC voltage V1 is applied to the electrode A1 arranged in the piezoelectric region shown in FIG. 21, secondary bending vibration is excited. This is the second vibration mode shown in FIG.

Here, when the AC voltages V1 and V2 are set to have the same frequency with a phase shift of 90 °, elliptical motion is generated in the protrusion 6. Therefore, the driven body 7 can be linearly driven by bringing the driven body 7 into pressure contact with the protrusion 6.

Then, by adjusting the voltage amplitude of the AC voltage V2 applied to the electrode A2, the magnitude of the Z-axis amplitude shown in FIG. 17A can be adjusted, and the amplitude of the AC voltage V1 applied to the electrode A1 is adjusted. By doing so, the magnitude of the X-axis amplitude shown in FIG. 17B can be adjusted. Note that it is also possible to adjust the magnitudes of the X-axis amplitude and the Z-axis amplitude by adjusting the duty ratio of the AC voltages V1 and V2 applied to the electrodes A1 and A2 using a digital circuit or a logic circuit.

In addition, as shown in FIG. 18, by increasing the X-axis amplitude of the elliptical motion excited on the protrusion 6, it is possible to increase the moving speed of the driven body, and by reducing the X-axis amplitude, The moving speed of the driving body can be reduced. Thus, by varying the amplitude of the voltage V1 applied to the electrode A1, the speed control can be performed by varying the X-axis amplitude of the elliptical motion, as shown in FIGS. 22 (a) and 22 (b). it can.

As described above, the vibration type actuator including the piezoelectric element 5 subjected to the polarization treatment as shown in FIG. 21 changes the frequency or voltage amplitude of the two AC voltages V1 and V2 applied to the piezoelectric element 5. It is possible to perform speed control (frequency control or voltage control).

Therefore, the position control of the vibration type actuator can be performed by combining the above-described frequency control, phase difference control, and voltage control.

Conventionally, in driving a vibration type actuator, in order to achieve both positioning accuracy and dynamic range in position control, it has been proposed to combine frequency control and phase difference control or frequency control and voltage control. Frequency control is not high in positioning accuracy but excellent in dynamic range, and phase difference control and voltage control are not wide in dynamic range but excellent in positioning accuracy. Therefore, it is a proposal to perform high-precision positioning by switching to phase difference control or voltage control after performing quick and rough position control by frequency control.
Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 10-210775

However, the present inventor has found that the resonance frequency increases as the amplitude of the elliptical motion in the traveling direction of the driven body decreases. This is because the rigidity of the elastic body of the vibrator has nonlinearity, the rigidity changes based on the amplitude displacement, and the resonance frequency of the vibrator changes. In other words, even if the drive frequency is not changed, the drive frequency becomes lower than the resonance frequency by changing the phase difference or voltage of the drive signal, and the drive speed rapidly decreases (hereinafter, sudden deceleration). Will be described as a phenomenon). That is, a dead zone occurs even in phase difference control and voltage control with high positioning accuracy.

FIG. 23 is a graph showing the relationship between the phase difference between the two-phase voltages applied to the piezoelectric element, the driving frequency, and the driving speed (that is, the relationship between the phase difference and the resonance frequency of the vibrator). For example, as shown in FIG. 23, the vibration in the second vibration mode increases as the phase difference between the voltage V1 applied to the electrode A1 of the piezoelectric element 5 and the voltage V2 applied to the electrode A2 shown in FIG. And the resonance frequency of the vibrator in the second vibration mode increases. When the drive frequency is set to the resonance frequency when the phase difference is 60 degrees with the phase difference set to 90 degrees, the drive frequency at this time is on the higher frequency side than the resonance frequency when the phase difference is 90 degrees. There is no sudden deceleration phenomenon. However, if the phase difference is shifted to less than 60 degrees while the drive frequency is fixed at the resonance frequency when the phase difference is 60 degrees, the drive frequency becomes lower than the resonance frequency with a phase difference of less than 60 degrees. Suddenly, a sudden deceleration phenomenon occurs.

Another example will be described. FIG. 24 is a graph showing the relationship between the duty ratio of the AC voltage applied to the piezoelectric element and the resonance frequency of the vibrator. As shown in FIG. 24, the smaller the amplitude (duty ratio) of the voltage V1 applied to the electrode A1 of the piezoelectric element 5 shown in FIG. 21, the smaller the vibration amplitude (drive speed) in the second vibration mode. The resonance frequency of the vibrator in the second vibration mode is increased. When the duty ratio is set to 50% and the drive frequency is set to the resonance frequency at the duty ratio of 30%, the drive frequency at this time is on the higher frequency side than the resonance frequency at the duty ratio of 50%, so sudden deceleration The phenomenon does not occur. However, if the duty ratio is shifted to less than 30% while the drive frequency is fixed to the resonance frequency when the duty ratio is 50%, the resonance frequency at a duty ratio of less than 30% is higher than the fixed drive frequency. This causes a sudden deceleration phenomenon.

In this way, even during phase control or voltage control with high position accuracy, the resonance frequency shifts to a higher frequency side than the fixed drive frequency, and a sudden deceleration phenomenon occurs in which the drive speed rapidly decreases. However, there is a possibility that a dead zone may occur in the control by the vibration wave driving device.

The present invention is the light of the conventional problems, and an object thereof is to provide a control how the control device and the vibration wave driving device such as the following vibration wave driving apparatus. In other words, during the phase difference control or voltage control of the vibration wave drive device that moves the driven body, the phenomenon that the resonance frequency shifts to the high frequency side rather than the fixed drive frequency is realized. Thereby, highly accurate drive control with respect to a to-be-driven body is possible, and also a wide dynamic range can be maintained.

Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.

[First Embodiment]
In the first embodiment of the present invention, a control device that controls a vibration type actuator (vibration wave driving device) by combining frequency control and phase difference control will be described.

<Configuration of Control Device in First Embodiment>
FIG. 1 is a block diagram showing the configuration of the control device for the vibration type actuator according to the first embodiment of the present invention.

The control device includes a position command generation unit 17 that generates a target value of the stop position of the driven body, and an operation amount determination unit 22 is connected to the output side via a comparison unit 18. The comparison unit 18 compares the target value output from the position command generation unit 17 with the current position of the driven body output from the position detection unit 16. The operation amount determination unit 22 calculates the remaining operation amount e of the vibration actuator 15 from the comparison result of the comparison unit 18. The position detection unit 16 detects the position of the driven body of the vibration type actuator 15, and is constituted by, for example, a linear scale or an encoder. The vibration type actuator 15 is the vibration type actuator having the configuration shown in FIG. 15 described above. The piezoelectric element 5 is bonded to the back surface of the elastic body 4 made of a metal material formed in a rectangular plate shape. A vibrator having a plurality of protrusions 6 as driving parts on the surface is provided.

Further, an ellipticity ratio determining unit 19 and a drive frequency determining unit 20 are connected to the output side of the operation amount determining unit 22, and the output sides of the elliptical ratio determining unit 19 and the drive frequency determining unit 20 are connected to the drive signal generating unit 21. It is connected. The drive signal generator 21 receives the outputs of the ellipticity ratio determiner 19 and the drive frequency determiner 20 and generates an AC voltage that is actually applied to the piezoelectric element 5 of the vibration actuator 15. The elliptic ratio determining unit 19 determines the ratio of the X-axis amplitude and the Z-axis amplitude of the elliptical motion generated in the protrusion 6 of the vibration type actuator 15 from the output of the operation amount determining unit 22. The drive frequency determination unit 20 determines the drive frequency of the AC voltage applied to the vibration type actuator 15 from the output of the operation amount determination unit 22. The drive signal generator 21 receives the outputs of the ellipticity ratio determiner 19 and the drive frequency determiner 20 and generates an AC voltage that is actually applied to the piezoelectric element 5 of the vibration actuator 15.

In the present embodiment, the above-described ellipticity ratio determination unit 19, the drive frequency determination unit 20, and the drive signal generation unit 21 are realized as software on the CPU, and the drive signal generation unit 21 includes a function generator. Here, the function generator is composed of a logic circuit composed mainly of a counter. The operation amount determination unit 22 is configured by a PI controller or a PID controller.

The output of the drive frequency determination unit 20 generates a first periodic signal that serves as a reference for the drive frequency by the logic circuit of the drive signal generation unit 21. Further, the logic circuit generates a second periodic signal having the same frequency as that of the first periodic signal by giving a phase difference to the first periodic signal according to the output of the ellipticity ratio determining unit 19.

The first and second periodic signals generated by the drive signal generator 21 are amplified by a power amplifier and input to the piezoelectric element 5 of the vibration actuator 15 as a drive signal. The power amplifier for amplifying the first and second periodic signals may be configured by a switching element or a booster circuit.

In this embodiment, the vibration type actuator 15 generates the protrusion 6 by controlling the phase difference between the AC voltages V1 and V2 applied to the piezoelectric element 5 (see FIG. 16) bonded to the back surface of the elastic body 4. Change the ellipticity ratio of the elliptical motion.

That is, in the vibration type actuator 15 having the piezoelectric element 5 in which the two electrodes A1 and A2 are polarized as shown in FIG. 16, an elliptical motion is generated in the protrusion 6 by the combination of the first and second vibration modes. When the driven body is driven, it is as follows.

When the amplitude and frequency of the two-phase AC voltages V1 and V2 applied to the two electrodes A1 and A2 are the same and the phase difference between them is 180 degrees, the piezoelectric region of the electrode A1 extends at a certain moment, Since the piezoelectric region of A2 contracts, the second vibration mode is excited.

Conversely, when the phase difference between the AC voltages V1 and V2 is set to 0 degree, the piezoelectric region of the electrode A1 and the electrode A2 simultaneously expands and contracts at a certain moment, so that the first vibration mode is excited.

The first vibration mode and the second vibration mode occur at the same time by setting the phase difference between the AC voltages V1 and V2 to other than 0 degrees, 180 degrees, or -180 degrees. At this time, the amplitude (A) of the vibration of the projection 6 of the vibrator in the first vibration mode, the amplitude (B) of the vibration of the projection 6 of the vibrator in the second vibration mode, and the electrodes, respectively The relationship with the phase difference between AC voltages V1 and V2 applied to A1 and A2 is shown by the following equation.

A=|2×cos((π−θ)/2)| ・・・(1)
B=|2×cos(θ/2)| ・・・(2)
A = | 2 × cos ((π−θ) / 2) | (1)
B = | 2 × cos (θ / 2) | (2)
FIG. 19 shows the first vibration mode (P1) and the second vibration mode (P2) when the phase difference of the above equations (1) and (2) is changed from −180 degrees to 180 degrees. Indicates the amplitude of vibration. As described above, an elliptical shape corresponding to the phase difference on the horizontal axis is shown in the lower part of FIG. Thus, by changing the phase difference θ between the AC voltages V1 and V2 to be applied, the ellipticity of the elliptical motion excited by the protrusion 6 can be adjusted.

<Functions of the ellipticity ratio determination unit 19 and the drive frequency determination unit 20>
Next, detailed functions of the ellipticity ratio determination unit 19 and the drive frequency determination unit 20 will be described with reference to FIG.

FIG. 2 is an explanatory diagram for explaining the functions of the ellipticity ratio determination unit 19 and the drive frequency determination unit 20 according to the first embodiment.

In the graph in FIG. 2, the horizontal axis represents the operation amount e, and the vertical axis represents the phase difference θ and the drive frequency fr, respectively. The operation amount e output from the operation amount determination unit 22 is set as an input value of the ellipticity ratio determination unit 19. Based on this input value, the ellipticity ratio determining unit 19 reads a value stored in a memory (not shown) to determine the elliptical ratio, and the driving frequency determining unit 20 calculates the driving frequency fr according to the elliptical ratio.

The output value determined by the ellipticity ratio determination unit 19 is the phase difference θ between the AC voltages V1 and V2 applied to the piezoelectric element 5. As shown in FIG. 2, the amplitude ratio, that is, the phase difference θ in the ellipticity ratio determining unit 19 is set to 90 degrees as the upper limit threshold value. If the driving direction of the driven body is reversed, the lower limit threshold value is −. It is set to 90 degrees.

As for the elliptical motion generated in the protrusion 6 of the vibration type actuator 15, the closer the phase difference is to the upper limit threshold or the lower limit threshold, the larger the amplitude in the moving direction of the driven body and the faster the moving speed of the driven body. .

In the present embodiment, when the value read from the memory according to the operation amount e input from the operation amount determination unit 22 does not reach the upper limit threshold or the lower limit threshold of the phase difference θ as shown in FIG. Uses the drive frequency fr as the upper frequency limit and sets the phase difference θ with the read value. On the contrary, when the value read from the memory according to the operation amount e input from the operation amount determination unit 22 reaches the upper limit threshold or the lower limit threshold of the phase difference θ as shown in FIG. The phase difference θ is set as the upper limit threshold value or the lower limit threshold value, and the shortage is output as the frequency command value.

Here, the frequency upper limit value is set to a value having the highest frequency in the frequency band used for driving the vibration actuator or a value in the vicinity thereof. Further, a value to be set by the ellipticity ratio determination unit 19 is obtained from a measurement result when the phase difference is set between 90 degrees and −90 degrees in a state where the drive frequency fr is set to the frequency upper limit value in advance. And stored in a memory (not shown).

As described above, when the phase difference control is performed, the drive frequency is fixed to the highest frequency in the frequency band used for driving the actuator. In other words, the drive frequency set when performing the frequency control is always set to a frequency lower than the drive frequency set when performing the phase difference control. Thereby, even when the resonance frequency of the vibrator in the second vibration mode is shifted to the high frequency side by the phase difference control, the sudden deceleration phenomenon can be prevented.

<Control operation according to the first embodiment>
Next, a control operation according to the first embodiment will be described with reference to FIG.

FIG. 3 is a flowchart showing a control operation on the CPU when performing position control of the vibration type actuator 15 according to the first embodiment.

When an external signal or a command for starting the vibration actuator 15 is issued in the CPU, first, a control start function is called in STEP1. The function may be called by an interrupt process or may be configured in a loop function.

In the next STEP 2, the target position of the driven body of the vibration type actuator is read from the position command generation section 17, and the comparison section 18 compares this target position with the current position of the driven body output from the position detection section 16. The difference is output to the operation amount determination unit 22. The operation amount determination unit 22 performs a control calculation based on the output value of the comparison unit 18 and outputs an operation amount e.

In subsequent STEP 3, it is determined whether or not the value read from the memory (not shown) by the ellipticity ratio determining unit 19 has reached 90 degrees or -90 degrees with respect to the operation amount e generated in STEP 2. If yes, go to STEP5. Conversely, if the phase difference value read by the ellipticity ratio determining unit 19 does not reach 90 degrees or -90 degrees, that is, is less than the threshold value, the process proceeds to STEP4.

In STEP 4, the drive frequency determination unit 20 fixes the drive frequency to the frequency upper limit value shown in FIG. 2, and the ellipticity ratio determination unit 19 reads and sets the phase difference corresponding to the operation amount e.

In STEP 5, the ellipticity ratio determining unit 19 fixes the phase difference θ to either the upper limit threshold or the lower limit threshold according to the moving direction of the driven body. The ellipticity ratio determining unit 19 fixes the phase difference θ to the phase difference upper limit value shown in FIG. 2, and the driving frequency determining unit 20 reads and sets the driving frequency fr corresponding to the operation amount e. When the manipulated variable e is greater than or equal to the upper limit of the phase difference, the drive frequency determining unit 20 calculates a value obtained by multiplying the difference between the manipulated variable e and the upper limit of the phase difference by a proportional constant a as shown in Equation (3). The drive frequency fr is changed to a value subtracted from the frequency upper limit value. The proportionality constant a is a constant for converting the speed change amount with respect to the phase difference change into the speed change amount with respect to the frequency change.

Drive frequency [Hz] = frequency upper limit value [Hz] −a · (phase difference upper limit value [°] −operation amount [°]) (3)
In subsequent STEP 6, the drive signal generation unit 21 generates a two-phase frequency signal composed of an AC voltage based on the phase difference θ and the drive frequency fr set by the ellipticity ratio determination unit 19 and the drive frequency determination unit 20. To do.

In STEP 7, the control is terminated. If the control start function is called by interrupt processing, the next interrupt processing is waited for. In the case of the control start function arranged in the loop function, STEP1 is called.

<Advantages of First Embodiment>
As described above, in this embodiment, the control device gives a drive signal to the vibration actuator 15 including the piezoelectric element 5 that is an electro-mechanical energy conversion element, and changes the phase difference θ of the drive signal. Thus, the vibration type actuator 15 is driven and controlled. At this time, when the phase difference θ of the drive signal is changed, the frequency of the drive signal (drive frequency fr) is fixed to a higher frequency than when the phase difference θ is not changed. Thereby, during the phase difference control, it is possible to suppress the resonance frequency of the vibrator from being shifted to the higher frequency side than the drive frequency fr by the phase difference control.

[Second Embodiment]
In the first embodiment described above, the configuration in which the vibration type actuator is driven by combining frequency control and phase difference control has been described as an example. In the second embodiment, a configuration for driving a vibration type actuator by combining frequency control and voltage control will be described.

<Configuration according to the second embodiment>
The configuration of the control device of the present embodiment can be represented in FIG. 1 as in the first embodiment. As for the configuration of the vibration type actuator, the polarization configuration of the piezoelectric element 5 bonded to the back surface of the elastic body 4 in the structure shown in FIG. 15 is as shown in FIG.

In the present embodiment, the drive control for the vibration type actuator changes the elliptical ratio of the elliptical motion excited in the protrusion 6 by controlling the voltage ratio of the AC voltages V1 and V2 applied to the piezoelectric element 5. Is.

As described above, when the AC voltage V2 is applied to the electrode A2 shown in FIG. 21, the first vibration mode shown in FIG. Further, when the AC voltage V1 is applied to the electrode A1, the second vibration mode shown in FIG. By combining the two modes of the first vibration mode and the second vibration mode, elliptical motion can be excited in the protrusion 6 as shown in FIG.

FIG. 4 is a waveform diagram of AC voltages V1 and V2 applied to the piezoelectric element 5. The amplitude ratio of the elliptical motion can be adjusted by inputting the AC voltage V1 having the duty ratio shown in FIG. 4 to the electrode A1 shown in FIG.

<Function of the ellipticity ratio determination unit 19>
Next, the function of the ellipticity ratio determining unit 19 according to the present embodiment will be described.

FIG. 5 is an explanatory diagram for explaining the function of the ellipticity ratio determination unit 19 according to the second embodiment.

The present embodiment is different from the first embodiment in the configuration of the ellipticity ratio determining unit 19. Hereinafter, this point will be described in detail.

In the graph of FIG. 5, the horizontal axis represents the operation amount e calculated by the operation amount determination unit 22, and the vertical axis represents the phase difference θ, the duty ratio ekv, and the drive frequency fr in order from the top. The operation amount e output from the operation amount determination unit 22 is set as an input value of the ellipticity ratio determination unit 19. Based on the input value, the ellipticity ratio determining unit 19 reads a value stored in a memory (not shown) to determine the elliptical ratio, and the driving frequency determining unit 20 calculates the driving frequency fr according to the elliptical ratio.

The output values determined by the ellipticity ratio determining unit 19 are the phase difference θ between the AC voltages V1 and V2 applied to the piezoelectric element 5 and the duty ratio ekv of the AC voltages V1 and V2. The drive direction determination value in the ellipticity ratio determination unit 19 described in FIG. 5 is an arbitrary value based on the sign of the input value, and is the level of the voltages V1 and V2 applied to the two electrodes A1 and A2. The phase difference θ. That is, either 90 degrees or -90 degrees is selected as the phase difference θ between the voltages V1 and V2 according to the direction in which the driven body is moved.

As shown in FIG. 5, the amplitude ratio in the ellipticity ratio determining unit 19, that is, the duty ratio ekv is set to 50% as an upper limit threshold value. The closer the duty ratio is to the upper limit threshold, the greater the amplitude of the elliptical motion generated in the protrusion 6 of the vibration type actuator in the moving direction of the driven body, and the higher the moving speed of the driven body.

In the present embodiment, when the value read from the memory (not shown) according to the operation amount e input from the operation amount determination unit 22 does not reach the upper limit threshold value of the duty ratio ekv in FIG. 5, the drive frequency fr Is set as the upper frequency limit, and the read duty ratio is set. On the contrary, when the value read from the memory according to the operation amount e input from the operation amount determination unit 22 has reached the upper limit threshold value of the duty ratio in FIG. 5, the phase difference is the upper limit threshold value. Fixed to 50% and outputs the shortage as a frequency command value.

Thus, when performing voltage control, the drive frequency fr is fixed to the highest frequency in the frequency band used for driving the actuator. In other words, the drive frequency fr set when performing frequency control is always set to a frequency lower than the drive frequency set when performing voltage control. Thereby, even if the resonance frequency of the vibrator in the second vibration mode is shifted to the high frequency side by voltage control, the sudden deceleration phenomenon can be prevented.

<Control operation according to the second embodiment>
Next, a control operation according to the second embodiment will be described with reference to FIG.

FIG. 6 is a flowchart showing a control operation on the CPU when performing position control of the vibration type actuator 15 according to the second embodiment.

The processing of STEP 11 and STEP 12 in this flow is the same as the processing of STEP 1 and STEP 2 in the flow of FIG. 3 described above.

In the next STEP 13, when it is determined that the value of the duty ratio ekv read from the memory (not shown) by the ellipticity ratio determination unit 19 has reached the upper limit threshold with respect to the operation amount e generated in STEP 12. Go to STEP15. Conversely, if the value of the duty ratio ekv read by the ellipticity ratio determination unit 19 does not reach the upper limit threshold value, that is, is less than the threshold value, the process proceeds to STEP14.

In STEP 14, the drive frequency determining unit 20 fixes the drive frequency fr to the frequency upper limit value shown in FIG. 5, the ellipticity ratio determining unit 19 sets the phase difference θ according to the moving direction of the driven body, and the operation amount e The duty ratio ekv corresponding to is read and set.

In STEP 15, the ellipticity ratio determining unit 19 sets the phase difference θ according to the moving direction of the driven body, and fixes the duty ratio ekv to the upper limit threshold value. The elliptical ratio determining unit 19 fixes the duty ratio to the upper limit value of the duty ratio shown in FIG. 5, and the driving frequency determining unit 20 reads and sets the driving frequency fr corresponding to the operation amount e.

When the operation amount e is equal to or greater than the threshold value for the upper limit of the duty ratio, the drive frequency determination unit 20 calculates a value obtained by multiplying the difference between the operation amount e and the upper limit of the duty ratio by a proportional constant a as shown in Equation (4). The drive frequency fr is changed to a value subtracted from the frequency upper limit value.

Here, the proportionality constant a is a constant for converting the speed change amount corresponding to the change of the duty ratio ekv into the speed change amount corresponding to the frequency change.

Drive frequency [Hz] = frequency upper limit value [Hz] −a · (duty ratio upper limit value [°] −operation amount [°]) (4)
In subsequent STEP 16, the drive signal generation unit 21 has a two-phase AC voltage based on the phase difference θ, the duty ratio ekv, and the drive frequency fr set in the ellipticity ratio determination unit 19 and the drive frequency determination unit 20. Generate a frequency signal.

In STEP 17, the control is terminated. If the control start function is called by interrupt processing, the next interrupt processing is waited for. In the case of a control start function arranged in the loop function, STEP11 is called.

<Advantages of Second Embodiment>
As described above, in this embodiment, the control device gives a drive signal to the vibration actuator 15 including the piezoelectric element 5 that is an electro-mechanical energy conversion element, changes the voltage of the drive signal, Drive control of the vibration type actuator 15 is performed. At this time, when the voltage of the drive signal is changed, the frequency of the drive signal (drive frequency fr) is fixed to a higher frequency than when the voltage is not changed. Thereby, it is possible to suppress the resonance frequency of the vibrator from being shifted to a higher frequency side than the driving frequency fr by voltage control during voltage control.

[Third Embodiment]
In the first embodiment described above, the configuration in which the vibration type actuator is driven by combining frequency control and phase difference control has been described as an example.

In the third embodiment, in addition to frequency control and phase difference control, a configuration for driving a vibration actuator will be described in consideration of variations in individual differences among vibration actuators and characteristic fluctuations due to changes in environmental temperature.

<Configuration of Control Device in Third Embodiment>
FIG. 7 is a block diagram showing the configuration of the control device for the vibration type actuator according to the third embodiment of the present invention. The control device for the vibration type actuator of the present embodiment is obtained by adding a parameter setting unit 23 to the configuration shown in FIG. 1, and the configuration other than the parameter setting unit 23 is the same as that shown in FIG.

The parameter setting unit 23 receives the current position of the driven body output from the position detection unit 16 and the operation amount e output from the operation amount determination unit 22. Then, the parameter setting unit 23 outputs the frequency upper limit value to the drive frequency determining unit 20, and the drive frequency determining unit 20 sets this frequency upper limit value as the frequency upper limit value when performing phase difference control.

<Function of Parameter Setting Unit 23>
Next, the function of the parameter setting unit 23 according to the present embodiment will be described.
FIG. 10 is an explanatory diagram for explaining the function of the parameter setting unit 23 of the third embodiment.

In FIG. 10, the parameter setting unit 23 includes an internal memory 24, a differentiation unit 25, and a comparison unit 26. The internal memory 24 stores in advance a plurality of reference speeds prepared according to the operation amount e output from the operation amount determination unit 22. This reference speed may be obtained by experimentally determining the actual driving speed of the vibration type actuator when the operation amount e is given, or an ideal value of the driving speed of the vibration type actuator when the operation amount e is given. What you asked for is also acceptable.

The differentiating unit 25 calculates the actual driving speed of the driven body by differentiating the current position of the driven body output from the position detection unit 16.

The comparison unit 26 compares the reference speed output from the internal memory 24 with the actual driving speed of the driven body output from the differentiation unit 25, and sets the frequency upper limit value obtained from the comparison result to the drive frequency determination unit 20. Output to.

Here, FIG. 8 shows the relationship between the environmental temperature of the piezoelectric element of the vibration actuator and the resonance frequency of the vibrator when the phase difference θ between the two-phase voltages V1 and V2 is set to 90 degrees and the duty ratio ekv is set to 50%. It is a graph which shows a relationship. FIG. 8 shows that the higher the environmental temperature of the piezoelectric element, the lower the resonance frequency of the vibrator. As shown in FIG. 23, even when the phase difference θ between the two-phase voltages V1 and V2 is set to 10 degrees, when the environmental temperature of the piezoelectric element is 60 ° C., the environmental temperature is 25 ° C. Compared to the case, the resonance frequency of the vibrator becomes lower.

Another example will be described. FIG. 9 shows the relationship between the resonance frequencies of the three vibrators (individual 1, individual 2, and individual 3) when the phase difference between the two-phase voltages V1 and V2 is set to 90 degrees and the duty ratio is set to 50%. It is a graph to show. FIG. 9 shows that the resonance frequency of each vibrator varies due to manufacturing errors and the like. For example, the resonance frequency of the individual 1 of the vibrator shown in FIG. 9 is lower than that of the individual 3 and the individual 2. As shown in FIG. 23, even when the phase difference θ between the two-phase voltages V1 and V2 is set to 10 degrees, the individual 1 has a lower resonance frequency than the individual 3 and the individual 2. Become.

In this way, if the resonance frequency of the vibrator has shifted to the high frequency side due to changes in the environmental temperature of the piezoelectric element or individual differences between the vibrators, it is possible to prevent sudden deceleration. Therefore, it is necessary to shift the upper frequency limit to the high frequency side.

However, if the frequency upper limit value is inadvertently shifted to the high frequency side, when the drive frequency fr is in the vicinity of the frequency upper limit value, the change amount of the driving force of the vibration actuator with respect to the change amount of the drive frequency becomes small. End up. For this reason, it is impossible to take advantage of the frequency control characteristic of excellent dynamic range.

Accordingly, the comparison unit 26 compares the reference speed of the driven body read according to the operation amount e with the actual driving speed of the driven body, and the parameter setting unit 23 determines the phase difference according to the difference. A frequency upper limit value of the drive frequency determination unit 20 when performing control is set.

That is, if the actual driving speed is slower than the reference speed, as can be seen from FIGS. 8 and 9, it can be estimated that the resonance frequency is shifted to the low frequency side, so the frequency upper limit value is set low according to the difference. To do. On the contrary, if the actual driving speed is faster than the reference speed, the frequency upper limit value is set higher according to the difference.

The parameter setting unit 23 may include an approximation unit 27 as shown in FIG. 11 instead of the internal memory 24. The approximating unit 27 calculates the reference speed by applying the manipulated variable e output from the manipulated variable determining unit 22 to an approximate expression stored in advance.

Alternatively, the parameter setting unit 23 may include a control model unit 28 as shown in FIG. 12 instead of the internal memory 24. The control model unit 28 indicates the driving speed of the driven body measured in advance by a frequency response or a step response by a transfer function or a state equation. The control model unit 28 calculates a reference speed (estimated speed) by applying the operation amount e output from the operation amount determination unit 22 to a transfer function or state equation stored in advance.

In the present embodiment, the parameter setting unit 23, the ellipticity ratio determination unit 19, the drive frequency determination unit 20, and the drive signal generation unit 21 described above are realized as software on the CPU, and the drive signal generation unit 21 is a function generator. Consists of. Here, the function generator is composed of a logic circuit composed mainly of a counter. The operation amount determination unit 22 is configured by a PI controller or a PID controller.

It should be noted that the setting of the frequency upper limit value by the parameter setting unit 23 may not be performed immediately after the activation of the vibration type actuator whose driving speed of the driven body is not stable. This is because if the frequency upper limit value is set according to the comparison result of the comparison unit 26 at the initial stage of driving when the difference between the reference speed and the actual drive speed varies, the frequency upper limit value becomes unstable.

<Advantages of Third Embodiment>
As described above, in this embodiment, the control device gives a drive signal to the vibration actuator 15 including the piezoelectric element 5 that is an electro-mechanical energy conversion element, changes the voltage of the drive signal, Drive control of the vibration type actuator 15 is performed. At that time, when changing the phase difference θ of the drive signal, the frequency set according to the comparison result between the reference speed of the driven body read according to the operation amount e and the actual driving speed of the driven body. The drive frequency fr is fixed to the upper limit value.

As a result, it is possible to compensate for variations in resonance frequency caused by characteristic differences due to individual differences between vibrators and changes in the environmental temperature of the piezoelectric elements.

In the present embodiment, the configuration in which the vibration type actuator is driven by combining frequency control and phase difference control has been described as an example. However, the present invention is not limited to this, and as shown in the second embodiment, the configuration of this embodiment can be applied to a configuration in which the vibration type actuator is driven by combining frequency control and voltage control.

[Modification]
The present invention is not limited to the first to third embodiments, and various modifications can be made. For example, there are the following modifications.

(1) Although the method of reading the phase difference θ, the duty ratio ekv, and the drive frequency fr from the memory in accordance with the operation amount e is shown in FIG. 5, the same result can be obtained when the calculation is performed using the CPU. . Needless to say, a similar effect can be obtained by using a logic circuit or DSP instead of the CPU.

(2) In the first, second, and third embodiments described above, the vibration type actuator that linearly drives the driven body has been described as an example, but the form of the vibration type actuator is limited to this. It is not a thing. For example, the one shown in FIG. 13 is also applicable.

FIG. 13 is a structural diagram showing a modification of the vibration type actuator (vibration wave driving device) applied to the embodiment of the present invention.

This vibration type actuator has a cylindrical elastic body, a piezoelectric element 30 that vibrates and displaces in the axial direction, and a piezoelectric element 29 that rotates and displaces in the circumferential direction. By applying an AC voltage to the piezoelectric elements 29 and 30 that function as electro-mechanical energy conversion elements, torsional resonance vibration and axial resonance vibration (longitudinal vibration) are simultaneously generated in the elastic body, and the cylindrical elastic body Some have an elliptical motion on the upper end surface (friction surface).

That is, as shown in FIG. 13, the piezoelectric element 29 is polarized in the circumferential direction, and by applying an alternating voltage, torsional vibration is excited in the circumferential direction. The piezoelectric element 30 is polarized in the thickness direction (axial direction) of the cylindrical elastic body, and excites longitudinal vibration in the axial direction by applying an alternating voltage. By applying a two-phase AC voltage, elliptical motion is excited on the friction surface of the cylindrical elastic body.

The friction surface and a driven body (not shown) are in pressure contact, and the friction surface and the driven body act as a clutch, and by applying an AC voltage to the two-phase piezoelectric element, The driven body can be driven relatively.

In this configuration, the driven body can be driven by elliptical motion by being brought into pressure contact with the friction surface.

When the vibration in the axial direction is the first vibration mode and the vibration in the torsional direction is the second vibration mode, elliptical motion can be excited on the friction surface by a combination of the two vibration modes, and vibration in the first and second vibration modes. The ellipticity ratio can be determined by changing the relative ratio of amplitude.

As described above, there is a vibration type actuator that rotates the rotor by combining torsional vibration and axial vibration. Even in such a vibration type actuator, when changing the duty ratio of the AC voltage for exciting vibration in the torsional direction, the drive frequency of the AC voltage applied to the piezoelectric element (vibration frequency of the cylindrical elastic body) is set. What is necessary is just to fix to the frequency upper limit mentioned above. Also in this case, even when the resonance frequency of torsional vibration is shifted to a high frequency side by voltage control, the sudden deceleration phenomenon can be prevented.

(3) FIGS. 14A and 14B are structural views showing other modifications of the vibration type actuator applied to the embodiment of the present invention.

As shown in FIGS. 14A and 14B, this vibration type actuator is provided with a plurality of protrusions 31 at predetermined circumferential positions of the annular elastic body 32, and the circumference of the annular elastic body 32. Excites traveling waves in the direction. By applying an AC voltage to the piezoelectric elements 33 functioning as two groups of electro-mechanical energy conversion elements arranged on the back surface of the elastic body 32, an elliptical motion is generated in the protrusion 31.

In FIG. 14A, a ring-shaped elastic body 32 is linearly expanded for easy explanation.

By applying a two-phase AC voltage to the two groups of piezoelectric elements 33 bonded to the elastic body 32, elliptical motion is excited in the protrusion 31 formed on the elastic body 32. The protrusion 31 and the driven body 34 are in pressure contact, and the elastic body 32 and the driven body 34 can be driven relatively by applying an alternating voltage to the two groups of piezoelectric elements 33.

In this configuration, the ellipticity of the elliptical motion excited on the protrusion 31 can be manipulated by changing the phase difference between the alternating voltages applied to the two groups of piezoelectric elements 33. When the phase of the other standing wave with respect to one standing wave is changed in order to manipulate the ellipticity ratio, the drive frequency of the AC voltage applied to the piezoelectric element 33 may be fixed to the above-described frequency upper limit value. Also in this case, the sudden deceleration phenomenon can be prevented even when the resonance frequency of one standing wave is shifted to the high frequency side by the phase difference control.
