Description

The present invention relates to a water heater, and more particularly, to a water heater that extinguishes a burner by blocking a gas passage before incomplete combustion occurs due to poor ventilation in a room or clogging of fins of a heat exchanger. .

2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, a main-stop type water heater that takes in air necessary for combustion from the room and discharges combustion exhaust from the burner into the room as it is has been used. In this water heater, when the indoor ventilation is insufficient, or when the heat exchanger becomes dirty and the fins are clogged, it becomes difficult for air necessary for combustion to be taken into the appliance. And in any case, it leads to incomplete combustion, which may cause an accident. Therefore, such a water heater is generally provided with an incomplete combustion prevention device. This incomplete combustion prevention device shuts off the gas before it becomes dangerous.

For example, fuel is generated by fluctuations in the combined output (synthetic electromotive force) of a thermocouple that is exposed from the outside of the heat exchanger to the opening provided on the side wall of the heat exchanger and a thermocouple that is provided at a position where the gas burner receives the combustion heat. A safety device for a gas water heater that includes a control unit that controls a valve is known (see, for example, Patent Document 1). In this type of water heater, for example, the primary thermocouple provided in the burner and the secondary thermocouple provided in the heat exchanger are connected in series so that the positive and negative polarities of the electromotive force are reversed. Has been. A combined electromotive force obtained by subtracting the electromotive force generated in the secondary thermocouple from the electromotive force generated in the primary thermocouple becomes a force for holding the magnet type fuel valve. For example, when the oxygen concentration in the room decreases, the burner flame lifts, so the electromotive force of the primary thermocouple decreases. Then, the synthetic electromotive force decreases and the fuel valve cannot be held, so that the gas supply is cut off. In addition, when the fins of the heat exchanger are clogged due to long-term use, the electromotive force of the secondary thermocouple is increased by the combustion exhaust heat. As a result, the combined electromotive force is lowered and the fuel valve is closed as described above, so that the gas supply is shut off.
Japanese Utility Model Publication No. 61-18358

However, in this type of water heater, the combined electromotive force is lowered even when the oxygen concentration is lowered or the fins of the heat exchanger are clogged. For this reason, there is a problem that it is not known which phenomenon caused the combined electromotive force to decrease. That is, the repairer himself had to disassemble the water heater to find out the cause of the decrease in the synthetic electromotive force. In order to solve such a problem, for example, a method of specifying the cause of incomplete combustion by providing a primary thermocouple and a secondary thermocouple in parallel and monitoring each electromotive force is conceivable. . However, in this method, an amplifier for amplifying the electromotive force output from the thermocouple, a determination device for determining whether the electromotive force is normal or abnormal, and the like must be newly provided according to the number of thermocouples. For this reason, the number of components is increased and complicated as compared with the conventional structure, so that the repair is difficult and the cost is not preferable.

The present invention has been made to solve the above problems, and provides a water heater that can detect a decrease in the combined electromotive force of two thermocouples and identify and store the cause of the decrease with a simple structure. The purpose is to do.

In order to achieve the above object, a water heater according to a first aspect of the present invention includes a burner, an electromagnetic valve that controls fuel supply to the burner, a driving means that drives the electromagnetic valve, and a combustion exhaust of the burner. A heat exchanger that uses heat to heat the water flow through the heat transfer pipe, a primary thermocouple that detects the disappearance and lack of oxygen in the burner, and combustion exhaust heat caused by clogging of the fins of the heat exchanger. A secondary thermocouple for detecting an increase in temperature; an amplifier connected to the secondary thermocouple for amplifying a second electromotive force output from the secondary thermocouple; and the primary thermocouple and the secondary thermocouple A differential amplifier connected and amplifying a difference between the first electromotive force output from the primary thermocouple and the second electromotive force output from the secondary thermocouple to output a combined electromotive force; The combined electromotive force output from the differential amplifier is less than the first reference value. And a valve for instructing the driving unit to close the electromagnetic valve when the determination unit determines that the combined electromotive force is lower than the first reference value. When it is determined by the blocking instruction means and the determination means that the combined electromotive force is lower than the first reference value, the second electromotive force output from the amplifier with respect to the combined electromotive force is determined. In addition, the calculation means for calculating the first electromotive force, and the cause of the decrease in the combined electromotive force is the decrease in the first electromotive force calculated by the calculation means, or the second electromotive force. A cause determination means for determining whether the increase is a rise, a storage means for storing a determination result of the cause determination means, and the combined electromotive force output from the differential amplifier connected to the differential amplifier. Whether it is higher than 1 standard value And a first comparator that outputs an open signal instructing to open the solenoid valve when the value is higher than the first reference value, and the drive means is closed by the valve close instruction means The electromagnetic valve is opened only when there is no instruction and the opening signal is output from the first comparator.

The water heater of the invention according to claim 2 is connected to the amplifier in addition to the configuration of the invention of claim 1, and the second electromotive force output from the amplifier is higher than a second reference value. A second comparator that outputs a closing signal instructing to close the solenoid valve when it is higher than the second reference value, and the blocking signal is output from the second comparator. When output, the valve closing instruction means instructs the driving means to close the electromagnetic valve.

In the water heater of the invention according to claim 1, the electromotive force output from the secondary thermocouple is amplified by the amplifier. On the other hand, the first electromotive force output from the primary thermocouple is input to the differential amplifier. In the differential amplifier, the difference between the first electromotive force and the second electromotive force is amplified and a combined electromotive force is output. Next, the determination unit determines whether or not the combined electromotive force is lower than the first reference value. When the combined electromotive force is lower than the first reference value, it is estimated that the first electromotive force has decreased or the second electromotive force has increased. If this situation is left unattended, there is a high possibility of incomplete combustion of the burner. Therefore, the valve closing instruction means instructs the driving means to close the electromagnetic valve. As a result, the gas supply can be promptly shut off before incomplete combustion occurs. Further, when the combined electromotive force is lower than the first reference value, it is necessary to identify the cause. Accordingly, the calculation means calculates the first electromotive force by adding the second electromotive force output from the amplifier to the combined electromotive force. The cause determining means analyzes and identifies the cause of the decrease in the combined electromotive force based on the calculated first electromotive force and the second electromotive force amplified by the amplifier. That is, it can be determined whether the cause of the decrease in the combined electromotive force is the decrease in the first electromotive force or the increase in the second electromotive force. Further, the determination result is stored in the storage means. As a result, when the hot water heater is repaired, the determination result stored in the storage means is read out, so that a quick response is possible.
It can also be determined by the first comparator whether the combined electromotive force output from the differential amplifier is lower than the first reference value. The driving means opens the electromagnetic valve only when there is no instruction for closing by the valve closing instruction means and there is an output signal from the first comparator. For example, when the combined electromotive force is lowered but the valve closing instruction means does not instruct the electromagnetic valve to close, the first comparator does not output an open signal, so the electromagnetic valve is shut off. be able to. Therefore, a safer water heater can be provided.

In the water heater of the invention according to claim 2 , in addition to the effect of the invention of claim 1 , the second comparator determines whether or not the electromotive force output from the amplifier is higher than the second reference value. To do. When a closing signal is output from the second comparator, the valve closing instruction means instructs the driving means to close the electromagnetic valve. For example, even if the second electromotive force output from the amplifier is not normally input to the valve closing instruction means, the valve closing instruction means closes the electromagnetic valve if a closing signal is output from the second comparator. Instruct the drive means as follows. Therefore, a safer water heater can be provided.

Hereinafter, a water heater 1 according to an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. 1 is a cross-sectional view of the water heater 1, FIG. 2 is a block diagram showing the electrical configuration of the water heater 1, FIG. 3 is a block diagram showing the configuration of the control board 62, and FIG. FIG. 5 is a circuit diagram of the solenoid valve drive circuit 81, and FIG. 5 is a flowchart showing the control operation of the gas solenoid valve 36 by the CPU 71. The hot water heater 1 shown in FIG. 1 is a main-stop type water heater that supplies hot water by opening a water stop cock 20 provided at the base of the water supply pipe 16.

First, the overall structure of the water heater 1 will be described. As shown in FIG. 1, the water heater 1 includes a metal case-like instrument (not shown). A main burner 14 for burning gas is provided slightly above the middle stage in the appliance. The main burner 14 is provided with an ignition electrode 44 for igniting the main burner 14 by continuous spark, and an igniter 43 (see FIG. 2) is connected to the ignition electrode 44. Further, a frame rod 45 for detecting the flame of the main burner 14 is provided next to the ignition electrode 44. A heat exchanger 12 is provided above the main burner 14 to heat the water flow through the heat transfer tube 12 a by the combustion exhaust heat of the main burner 14. An operation panel (not shown) is provided at the lower front of the instrument, and an operation button 54 is provided on the operation panel.

The appliance is also provided with a gas inlet 21 through which gas flows, a water inlet 25 through which water flows, and a hot water outlet 28 through which hot water flows out. A gas pipe 22 is connected between the gas port 21 and the main burner 14, a water supply pipe 16 is connected between the water inlet 25 and the inlet of the heat exchanger 12, and the hot water outlet and the heat exchanger 12 are connected. A hot water discharge pipe 18 is connected between the outlet.

Furthermore, a water stop cock 20 is provided at the base of the water supply pipe 16. The stop cock 20 is provided with a faucet pilot valve 26. Further, between the faucet pilot valve 26 and the operation button 54, interlocking levers 30 and 32 that are moved by the operation of the operation button 54 are interposed. That is, when the operation button 54 is pressed, the interlock levers 30 and 32 act to open the faucet pilot valve 26. As a result, water flows through the water supply pipe 16.

On the other hand, a gas supply plug 24 is provided at the base of the gas pipe 22. The gas supply valve 24 includes a water pressure responsive valve 34 that opens in conjunction with the flow of water into the water supply pipe 16, a magnet type gas electromagnetic valve 36 for preventing ignition trouble, and the gas electromagnetic valve 36. A magnet valve opening mechanism 37 that opens and closes the valve and an instrument plug 38 that opens and closes the gas supply passage in the gas supply plug 24 by operating the operation button 54 are provided. The faucet pilot valve 26 and the water pressure responsive valve 34 are connected via a projecting rod 40. The projecting rod 40 is provided with water pressure switches 50 and 51 for outputting on / off signals as the projecting rod 40 moves. Further, a gas governor 29 for adjusting fluctuations in supply gas pressure is provided on the downstream side of the gas supply plug 24.

As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the main burner 14 is provided with a primary thermocouple 58 that detects the disappearance or lack of oxygen of the main burner 14. For example, when the flame of the main burner 14 causes a lift phenomenon due to lack of oxygen, the flame moves away from the primary thermocouple 58, so the electromotive force (v1) output from the primary thermocouple 58 decreases. That is, it can be seen that the room is deficient in oxygen. The primary thermocouple 58 is provided with a sensing burner 53. As a result, the primary thermocouple 58 is directly heated by the flame of the sensing burner 53.

Further, the heat exchanger 12 is provided with a secondary thermocouple 60 that detects clogging of the fins 12b. The secondary thermocouple 60 is disposed at a position facing an opening (not shown) provided on the side wall of the heat exchanger 12. For example, when soot and foreign matter are clogged in the fins 12b of the heat exchanger 12, the combustion exhaust heat flows out from the opening of the side wall. In this case, the electromotive force (v2) output from the secondary thermocouple 60 increases. That is, it can be seen that the fins 12b of the heat exchanger 12 are clogged. Such a determination is made by a CPU 71 provided on a control board 62 described later.

And the control board 62 (refer FIG. 2) for controlling operation | movement of the water heater 1 is provided in the instrument provided with the said structure. The control board 62 is connected to a primary thermocouple 58, a secondary thermocouple 60, water pressure switches 50 and 51, an igniter 43, a frame rod 45, a gas electromagnetic valve 36, and the like. That is, the driving of the igniter 43 and the gas solenoid valve 36 is controlled based on the output signals of the primary thermocouple 58, the secondary thermocouple 60, the water pressure switches 50 and 51, and the frame rod 45.

Next, the configuration of the control board 62 will be described. As shown in FIG. 3, the control board 62 is provided with a CPU 71 as a central processing unit. The control board 62 further includes a ROM 72 that stores various control programs and initial values of various data, a RAM 73 that temporarily stores data generated during arithmetic processing of the CPU 71, a primary thermocouple 58, and a secondary thermocouple. A non-volatile flash memory 74 for writing the cause of the decrease in the composite electromotive force of the pair 60 and a timer 75 for measuring the combustion time of the main burner 14 are provided. These are all connected to the CPU 71.

Further, the control board 62 amplifies the electromotive force (v2) output from the secondary thermocouple 60 and outputs the amplified electromotive force (V2), and the electromotive force (v1) of the primary thermocouple 58. It amplifies a difference obtained by subtracting the secondary thermocouple 60 of the electromotive force (v2) electromotive force (v1-v2) from a differential amplifier 78 for outputting the resultant electromotive force (V 1-2), the differential amplifier 78, the combined electromotive force ( V1-2 ) output from 78 and the reference value (Vs), a comparator 79 that outputs a digital signal according to the comparison result, and each output signal of the CPU 71 and the comparator 79 Accordingly, an electromagnetic valve driving circuit 81 for opening and closing the gas electromagnetic valve 36 and a power source 82 for applying a predetermined voltage to the electromagnetic valve driving circuit 81 are provided.

More specifically, as shown in FIG. 3, the secondary thermocouple 60 is connected to the control board 62 by a single wiring, branches on the control board 62, and the input side of the amplifier 77 and the differential amplifier 78 is connected to one of the input sides. The primary thermocouple 58 is connected only to the other input side of the differential amplifier 78. Therefore, the electromotive force (v1) output from the secondary thermocouple 60 is input to both the amplifier 77 and the differential amplifier 78, and the electromotive force (v2) output from the primary thermocouple 58 is the differential amplifier. Only entered in 78.

The amplifier 77 is connected to the CPU 71. The differential amplifier 78 is connected to both the CPU 71 and the input side of the comparator 79. Therefore, the amplified electromotive force (V2) output from the amplifier 77 is input only to the CPU 71. Further, the combined electromotive force (V 1-2 ) output from the differential amplifier 78 is input to both the CPU 71 and the input side of the comparator 79.

The comparator 79 is connected to both the CPU 71 and the solenoid valve drive circuit 81. Therefore, the signal output from the comparator 79 is input to both the CPU 71 and the solenoid valve drive circuit 81.

The electromagnetic valve drive circuit 81 is connected to a CPU 71 and a comparator 79. Further, the electromagnetic valve driving circuit 81 is connected to a power source 82 for supplying a driving current to the gas electromagnetic valve 36 and the gas electromagnetic valve 36. That is, the driving of the gas solenoid valve 36 is controlled by the signal output from the CPU 71 and the signal output from the comparator 79.

Next, the comparator 79 will be described. The comparator 79 shown in FIG. 3 is also known as a comparator, and is a well-known circuit having two analog inputs and one digital output. The comparator 79 uses one of the analog inputs as a reference, and determines whether the other analog input is larger or smaller than the reference. The discrimination result is converted into a digital signal and output. In the present embodiment, the reference value (Vs) of the combined electromotive force (V 1-2 ) output from the differential amplifier 78 is set. Then, it is determined whether the combined electromotive force (V 1-2 ) output from the differential amplifier 78 is greater than or equal to the reference value (Vs), and a digital signal corresponding to the determination result is sent to the CPU 71, the solenoid valve drive circuit 81, Are output respectively.

Next, the electromagnetic valve drive circuit 81 will be described. As shown in FIG. 4, the electromagnetic valve drive circuit 81 is a circuit in which two transistors 91 and 92 are connected in series. Specifically, the power source 82 is connected to the collector side of the transistor 91, the CPU 71 is connected to the base side, and the collector side of the transistor 92 is connected to the emitter side. Further, a comparator 79 is connected to the base side of the transistor 92, and a gas solenoid valve 36 is connected to the emitter side.

In such an electromagnetic valve drive circuit 81, if no current flows through both the transistors 91 and 92, no current flows through the gas electromagnetic valve 36, and the gas flow path cannot be opened. That is, a drive signal for instructing driving of the gas electromagnetic valve 36 is output from the CPU 71 toward the base electrode of the transistor 91, the transistor 91 is turned on, and the gas electromagnetic valve from the comparator 79 toward the base electrode of the transistor 92 is output. It is an essential condition that the gas electromagnetic valve 36 is kept open when a digital signal instructing the opening of 36 is output, the transistor 92 is turned on, and a current flows from the power source 82 to the gas electromagnetic valve 36. By providing such an electromagnetic valve drive circuit 81, even if there is an error in the determination of the CPU 71, the gas electromagnetic valve 36 is not output unless a digital signal instructing opening of the gas electromagnetic valve 36 is output from the comparator 79. Since it is forcibly closed, a water heater with higher safety can be provided.

(S1)。   Next, the control operation of the gas solenoid valve 36 by the CPU 71 will be described with reference to the flowchart of FIG. First, when the operation button 54 is pressed by the user, the faucet pilot valve 26 is opened via the interlocking levers 30 and 32. Then, water flows into the water supply pipe 16, the protruding rod 40 is pushed by the water pressure, and the water pressure responsive valve 34 is opened. Further, the gas solenoid valve 36 is opened by the magnet valve opening mechanism 37 locked to the projecting rod 40. At the same time, the water pressure switch 50 is turned on, and a magnet holding current flows and is excited, whereby the gas solenoid valve 36 is held open (S1).

On the other hand, the instrument plug 38 is opened by pressing the operation button 54. As a result, the gas supply passage in the gas supply plug 24 is completely opened, and gas is supplied to the main burner 14. Then, the water pressure switch 51 is turned on simultaneously with the pushing rod 40 being pushed. Therefore, the igniter 43 is driven and the ignition electrode 44 is continuously sparked to ignite the main burner 14 and the sensing burner 53 (S2). At this time, the timer counter that measures the combustion time of the main burner 14 is reset and starts counting at the same time.

(S4)。 Next, it is determined whether or not the frame rod 45 has detected the flame of the main burner 14 (S3). For example, if a misfire occurs during ignition of the main burner 14 (S3: NO), the gas electromagnetic valve 36 is closed (S10) to prevent gas leakage, and the process is terminated. On the contrary, when ignition of the main burner 14 is successful (S3: YES), whether or not the combined electromotive force ( V1-2 ) output from the differential amplifier 78 is higher than the reference value (Vs). Is determined (S4).

(S8)。 For example, when the room is in an oxygen deficient state and the flame of the main burner 14 causes a lift phenomenon, the electromotive force of the primary thermocouple 58 is reduced, so that the combined electromotive force (V 1-2 ) is reduced. Further, when the fins 12b of the heat exchanger 12 are clogged, the electromotive force of the secondary thermocouple 60 is increased, so that the combined electromotive force ( V1-2 ) is decreased. And if resultant electromotive force (V 1-2) is lower than the reference value (Vs) (S4: NO) , in order to analyze the reduction causes the resultant electromotive force (V 1-2), resultant electromotive force by adding the amplified electromotive force (V2) to (V 1-2), calculates the amplifier power of the primary thermocouple 58 (V1) (S7). The amplified electromotive force (V1, V2) is from time to time stored in the RAM 73, from the slope of the time-varying each amplification electromotive force (V1, V2), the reduction causes the resultant electromotive force (V 1-2) Can be identified. Then, it is determined whether the electromotive force (v1) of the primary thermocouple 58 has decreased or the electromotive force (v2) of the secondary thermocouple 60 has increased (S8).

Here, when it is determined that the cause of the decrease in the combined electromotive force (V 1-2 ) is the decrease in the electromotive force (v1) of the primary thermocouple 58 (S8: YES), a lift phenomenon occurs in the flame of the main burner 14. The occurrence is stored in the flash memory 74 (S9). Conversely, if it is determined that the cause of the decrease in the combined electromotive force (V 1-2 ) is the increase in the electromotive force (v2) of the secondary thermocouple 60 (S8: NO), The fact that the fin 12b is clogged is stored in the flash memory 74 (S10). If this state is left as it is, there is a risk of incomplete combustion of the main burner 14, so the gas solenoid valve 36 is forcibly closed (S11), the main burner 14 is extinguished, and the process is terminated.

By the way, when the flame of the main burner 14 is normal and the fins 12b of the heat exchanger 12 are not clogged, the combined electromotive force ( V1-2 ) of the primary thermocouple 58 and the secondary thermocouple 60 is Maintained at a predetermined level. When the combined electromotive force (V 1-2 ) is maintained at the reference value (Vs) or more (S4: YES), the combined electromotive force (V 1-2 ) output from the differential amplifier 78 is compared. It is determined whether there is any contradiction with the digital signal output from the device 79 (S5). As described above, the digital signal output from the comparator 79 indicates the result of comparing the combined electromotive force (V 1-2 ) and the reference value (Vs). That is, when it is determined that the combined electromotive force (V 1-2 ) output from the differential amplifier 78 is greater than or equal to the reference value (Vs), a digital signal indicating the same result as the determination result is also output from the comparator 79. Should be done. Here, if the digital signal indicating the determination result different from the result from the comparator 79 is output (S5: NO), the abnormality in the input of the resultant electromotive force from the differential amplifier 78 to the CPU 71 (V 1-2) There is a high possibility. In this case, in order to ensure safety, the gas solenoid valve 36 is closed (S11), the main burner 14 is extinguished, and the process is terminated.

If it is determined that there is no contradiction between the combined electromotive force ( V1-2 ) output from the differential amplifier 78 and the digital signal output from the comparator 79 (S5: YES), the main burner 14 It is determined whether or not the combustion time is continuously less than 12 minutes (S6). When the combustion time is less than 12 minutes from the value of the timer counter (S6: YES), the process returns to S3 to detect the presence or absence of misfire and monitor the composite electromotive force ( V1-2 ). On the contrary, when the combustion time of the main burner 14 is 12 minutes or longer (S6: NO), the gas electromagnetic valve 36 is closed (S11) to prevent the main burner 14 from being forgotten to be turned off (S11). Fire extinguishing and finish the process.

Thus, in addition to the safety function that detects the decrease in the combined electromotive force (V 1-2 ) and forcibly closes the gas solenoid valve 36, the cause of the decrease in the combined electromotive force is identified and stored in the flash memory 74. be able to. As a result, by reading the contents stored in the flash memory 74 of the hot water heater 1 in which an abnormality has occurred, it is possible to quickly and easily grasp the cause of the decrease in the combined electromotive force.

In the above description, the solenoid valve drive circuit 81 shown in FIG. 3 corresponds to the “drive means” of the present invention, and the flash memory 74 corresponds to the “storage means” of the present invention. Further, the CPU 71 that executes the determination process of S4 shown in FIG. 5 corresponds to the “determination means” of the present invention, and the CPU 71 that executes the process of S11 corresponds to the “valve closing instruction means” of the present invention, and the calculation of S7 The CPU 71 that executes the process corresponds to the “calculation unit” of the present invention, and the CPU 71 that executes the determination process of S8 corresponds to the “cause determination unit” of the present invention.

As described above, the water heater 1 of the present embodiment is configured such that the primary thermocouple 58 that detects the disappearance of the main burner 14 and the lack of oxygen and the secondary that detects clogging of the fins 12 b of the heat exchanger 12. A thermocouple 60. By monitoring these combined electromotive forces, incomplete combustion of the main burner 14 can be prevented in advance. The primary thermocouple 58 and the secondary thermocouple 60 are connected to a control board 62 that includes a CPU 71. In the control board 62, the electromotive force of the secondary thermocouple 60 is amplified by the amplifier 77. Further, the differential amplifier 78 provides a combined electromotive force of the primary thermocouple 58 and the secondary thermocouple 60. The amplified electromotive force (V1) of the primary thermocouple 58 can be calculated from the combined electromotive force and the amplified electromotive force (V2) of the secondary thermocouple 60. Therefore, it can be specified whether the cause of the decrease in the combined electromotive force is the decrease in the electromotive force of the primary thermocouple 58 or the increase in the electromotive force of the secondary thermocouple 60. Further, since the specified cause is recorded in the flash memory 74, it is possible to quickly respond by reading them at the time of repair.

And each thermocouple is arrange | positioned in parallel with respect to the conventional system which connects the primary thermocouple 58 and the secondary thermocouple 60 in series. As a result, the electromotive force is individually output from each thermocouple, and by using the differential amplifier 78, not only the combined electromotive force ( V1-2 ) but also the amplified electromotive force (V1, V2) of each thermocouple. Can be obtained. Further, since the connection of each circuit is realized on the control board 62, the structure is simple and preferable in terms of cost as compared with the conventional method in which the individual electromotive force cannot be grasped.

The electromagnetic valve drive circuit 81 outputs not only a drive signal for instructing driving of the gas electromagnetic valve 36 from the CPU 71 but also a digital signal for instructing opening of the gas electromagnetic valve 36 from the comparator 79. The gas solenoid valve 36 cannot be held open. As a result, even if there is an error in the determination of the CPU 71, the gas solenoid valve 36 is forcibly closed unless a digital signal instructing the opening of the gas solenoid valve 36 is output from the comparator 79. A high water heater can be provided.

Needless to say, the present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiment, and various modifications are possible. For example, a comparator may be connected to the amplifier 77. In this case, the amplified electromotive force (V2) of the secondary thermocouple 60 output from the amplifier 77 is compared with a reference value, and the comparison result is output to the CPU 71. The CPU 71 can confirm whether there is any contradiction between the amplified electromotive force (V2) directly output from the amplifier 77 and the digital signal corresponding to the comparison result output from the comparator. As a result, an abnormality in the input from the secondary thermocouple 60 to the amplifier 77 can be detected, so that a water heater with higher safety can be provided.

The water heater of the present invention is applicable to a water heater provided with at least two thermocouples for preventing incomplete combustion.
