Description

The present invention relates to a dust collector capable of sucking not only dust but also liquid such as water containing dust.

FIG. 3 is a longitudinal sectional view of a conventional dust collector. The dust collector 1 is provided with a main body 3 containing an intake unit 4 above a tank 2 having an upper surface opened. The intake unit 4 is supported by being suspended from the upper center of the tank 2 by a tank cover 5 that closes the opening of the tank 2 and supports the main body 3, and rotates inside by a motor 7 and driving of the motor 7. A suction fan 8 is built in. Further, the tank cover 5 is formed with intake ports 9, 9... That open to the lower surface of the intake unit 4 directly below the suction fan 8. 6 is a cowling which covers the upper part of the main body 3, and the operation switch 10 is provided in the side surface. A suction port 11 is provided on the side surface of the tank 2 to connect a hose, a nozzle, or the like.
Further, a float cage 12 that accommodates the float 13 so as to be movable up and down is connected to the lower side of the intake unit 4. The float 13 moves up and down in accordance with the level of liquid such as water stored in the tank 2, and at the upper limit position, the upper surface of the float 13 comes into contact with a cylindrical portion protruding downward around the air inlet 9. Thus, the intake port 9 is closed.

Therefore, when the motor 7 is driven by the ON operation of the operation switch 10 and the suction fan 8 rotates, the outside air is sucked into the tank 2 through a hose or the like connected to the suction port 11 and passes through the suction port 9. 8 is sent to the air supply path 14 in the cowling 6 and discharged from the exhaust port 15 on the lower surface of the cowling 6. Here, when water is sucked into the tank 2, the float 13 rises as the water level stored in the tank 2 rises, and the suction port 9 is closed at the upper limit position to stop sucking water. Reference numeral 16 denotes a cloth filter which is sandwiched between the tank cover 5 and the opening of the tank 2 and blocks between the suction port 11 and the suction unit 4 in a bag shape. Air or water sucked from the suction port 11 Can be filtered here (Patent Document 1 as an example of a dust collector having a float).

Japanese Patent Publication No. 61-57663

In the conventional dust collector 1, since the intake port 9 of the intake unit 4 is opened directly below, an upward force for sucking up the float 13 always acts during dust collection. Accordingly, when the float 13 that has risen as the water level rises approaches the intake port 9 when water or the like is sucked, the float 13 is sucked up before reaching the upper limit position, and the intake port 9 is blocked. In some cases, suction could not be performed by the set volume of 2. On the other hand, if a float having a weight and a size that cannot be defeated by sucking is used, the float becomes larger and the dust collector itself becomes heavier.

Accordingly, the present invention provides a dust collector that eliminates unstable operation of the float and enables reliable suction of water or the like up to the set capacity of the tank without causing an increase in the size of the float or an increase in the weight of the dust collector. It is aimed at.

In order to achieve the above object, according to the first aspect of the present invention, the air intake port projects downward from the air intake unit to form a lateral opening, while the air intake port is blocked at the upper limit position at the upper limit position. The portion is formed.
According to a second aspect of the present invention, in the configuration of the first aspect, in order to easily form the blocking portion, the float is a cylindrical body that accommodates the intake port at the upper limit position and abuts the lower surface of the intake unit. As described above, a receiving wall that abuts the lower surface of the intake port at the upper limit position to partition the inside of the float is provided inside the float, and the upper portion of the receiving wall is a closed portion.
The invention according to claim 3 is characterized in that, in the configuration of claim 2, a discharge port penetrating the receiving wall is formed closer to the center side of the float than a contact position of the receiving wall with the lower surface of the intake port. To do.

According to the first aspect of the present invention, the suction port is turned sideways so that the force for sucking up the float does not work, so that the suction port is not blocked before the float reaches the upper limit position, Water can be reliably sucked up to the set capacity. However, an unstable operation can be eliminated by a simple shape change that forms a closed portion in the float, so that the size of the float and the weight of the dust collector are not increased.
According to invention of Claim 2, in addition to the effect of Claim 1, the obstruction | occlusion part can be easily formed using the float of a cylindrical body rationally.
According to the third aspect of the present invention, in addition to the effect of the second aspect, by adopting the discharge port to the receiving wall, there is no possibility that water or the like accumulates in the closed portion, and the closed portion at the upper limit position of the float is eliminated. Sealability is also suitably maintained.

Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.
FIG. 1 is a longitudinal sectional view showing an example of a dust collector. The basic mechanism of the dust collector shown here is the same as that of the conventional dust collector shown in FIG. Are denoted by the same reference numerals and redundant description is omitted, and different components will be mainly described.

In this dust collector 1, the intake port 20 formed on the lower surface of the intake unit 4 does not open downward, and protrudes downward from the lower surface of the bottomed cylindrical tank cover 5 serving as a housing of the intake unit 4 so as to face sideways. The first difference is the opening. Specifically, by connecting a conical lower plate 21 having a circular shape in plan view to the tank cover 5 via a partition plate 22, the lateral intake port 20 protrudes downward. Thereby, the air sucked into the tank 2 from the suction port 11 is sucked into the suction port 20 horizontally or slightly from below toward the suction port 20 located at the center of the tank 2 as indicated by an arrow. .

In addition, the float 23 in the float cage 13 is also a cylindrical body that comes into contact with the lower surface of the tank cover 5 at the upper limit position and accommodates the intake port 20 in the upper portion. A receiving wall 24 is provided in contact with the lower surface of 21 to partition the inside of the float 23. On the other hand, ring-shaped seal members 25 and 26 for sealing between the abutting members are attached to the abutting position of the tank cover 5 with the float 23 and the abutting position of the receiving wall 24 with the lower plate 21, respectively. Has been. As a result, an upper portion of the receiving wall 24 in the float 23 is formed with a closing portion 27 in which the intake port 20 is completely accommodated in a sealed state at the upper limit position.

Furthermore, the center side of the float 23 is formed in a mortar shape that gently descends and inclines toward the center from the position where the receiving wall 24 contacts the lower plate 21, and the center of the receiving wall 24 faces downward. A cylindrical discharge port 28 is formed which hangs down and penetrates the receiving wall 24 and allows the closing portion 27 to communicate downward.

In the dust collector 1 configured as described above, when the operation switch 10 provided on the side surface of the cowling 6 is turned on to drive the motor 7, the suction fan 8 rotates and air is sucked from the suction port 11. The air sucked into the tank 2 passes through the filter 16 and enters the lateral intake port 20, is sent to the air supply path 14 in the cowling 6 by the suction fan 8, and is discharged from the exhaust port 15. Due to this air flow, air sucked from the suction port 11 is filtered by the filter 16, and dust and the like are stored in the tank 2.
On the other hand, when water is sucked in by a hose (not shown) connected to the suction port 11, for example, water is stored in the tank 2, but when the water level rises, the float 23 in the float cage 12 rises accordingly. To do. At this time, air is sucked sideways at the air inlet 20, so that the suction force does not act on the float 23.

When the float 23 reaches the upper limit position, the upper end of the float 23 comes into contact with the lower surface of the tank cover 5 as described above, the receiving wall 24 comes into contact with the lower surface of the lower plate 21, and the intake port 20 moves to the float 23. Is completely accommodated in the closed portion 27. In this state, the space between the upper end of the float 23 and the lower surface of the tank cover 5 is sealed by the seal member 25, and the space between the upper surface of the receiving wall 24 and the lower surface of the lower plate 21 is sealed by the seal member 26. 20 is sealed and the inflow of air into the intake unit 4 is stopped. Therefore, further suction of water is prevented.

Even when water enters the closed portion 27 of the float 23 due to scattering in the tank 2 or dropping from the intake port 20 when water is sucked, the center of the water is not affected by the inclination of the receiving wall 24. To the discharge port 28 and returned to the tank 2. Therefore, there is no possibility that the sealing performance of the blocking portion 27 at the upper limit position of the float 23 is deteriorated or that water enters the air inlet 20.

As described above, according to the dust collector 1 of the above-described form, the intake port 20 protrudes downward from the intake unit 4 so as to be opened sideways, while the intake port 20 is blocked at the upper limit of the float 23 at the upper limit position. By forming the portion 27, the intake port 20 is not blocked before the float 23 reaches the upper limit position, and water can be reliably sucked up to the set capacity in the tank 2. In addition, since an unstable operation can be eliminated by a simple shape change in which the closed portion 27 is formed in the float 23, the size of the float 23 and the weight of the dust collector 1 itself are not increased.

In particular, here, the float 23 is a cylindrical body that accommodates the intake port 20 in the upper position at the upper limit position and contacts the lower surface of the intake unit 4, and contacts the lower surface of the lower plate 21 at the upper limit position. By providing the receiving wall 24 for partitioning the inside of the float 23 and forming the closed portion 27 above the receiving wall 24, the closed portion 27 can be easily formed by rationally using the float 23 of the cylindrical body. it can.
Further, since the discharge port 28 penetrating the receiving wall 24 is formed on the center side of the float 23 with respect to the contact position of the receiving wall 24 with the lower surface of the lower plate 21, water and dust accumulate in the closed portion 27. There is no fear, and the sealing performance of the closing portion 27 at the upper limit position of the float 23 is also suitably maintained.

In the above embodiment, the seal member between the lower surface of the tank cover and the float is provided on the tank cover side, and the seal member between the lower surface of the intake port and the float receiving wall is provided on the receiving wall side. It may be provided on the opposite side. Further, the seal member is not necessarily required. For example, if the seal performance can be secured by forming a ring groove into which the upper end of the float portion is fitted at the upper limit position on the lower surface of the tank cover, the seal member may be omitted. Absent.
In addition, the number and specific form of the intake port can be appropriately changed as long as the intake port is formed sideways, and the closed portion of the float may also partially extend the wall body to the upper end of the float depending on the shape of the intake port. The intake port may be closed by standing.
Furthermore, a plurality of outlets may be provided, and the outlet is not limited to a cylindrical body and may be a simple through hole. Of course, it can be omitted.
