Description
R4は、単一結合または
Xは、
nとmは、それぞれ0〜1000の整数であり、p及びqは、0〜20の整数であり(但し、p、qともに0である場合は除く)、rは1〜6の整数であり、
iとjは、それぞれ1〜1000の整数であり、sは1〜20の整数である。
(正極の作製)
正極活物質としてリチウムコバルト複合酸化物94重量%、導電剤としてカーボンブラック3重量%、結合剤としてPVDF3重量%を溶剤であるN−メチル−2ピロリドン(NMP)に添加して正極混合物スラリーを調製し、該正極混合物スラリーを厚さ20μmの正極集電体であるアルミニウム(Al)箔に塗布し、乾燥を実施して正極を作製した。
負極活物質として炭素粉体96重量%、結合剤としてポリフッ化ビニリデン(PVDF)3重量%、導電剤としてカーボンブラック1重量%を溶剤であるN−メチル−2ピロリドン(NMP)に添加して負極混合物スラリーを調製し、該負極混合物スラリーを厚さ10μmの負極集電体である銅(Cu)箔に塗布し、乾燥を実施して負極を作製した。
上記のようして作製した両電極及びポリプロピレン/ポリエチレン/ポリプロピレン(PP/PE/PP)の3層からなるセパレータを積層方式で組み立てた後、電解液(エチルカーボネート(EC)/プロピレンカーボネート(PC)/ジエチルカーボネート(DEC)=30/20/50重量%、六フッ化リン酸リチウム(LiPF6)1モル)を注入して最終的に電池を完成した。
比較例1
通常の方法にて正極を作製した後、何種の高分子も導入していないことを除いては、上記実施例1と同法にてリチウム二次電池を作製した。
通常の方法にて電池部(正極、負極、セパレータ)を作製した後、ジエチレングリコールジアクリレートをモノマーとし、AIBNを開始剤とした混合液を、実施例1で使用した電解液に10重量%混ぜ込んだ後、電池に注液した。その後、オーブン内において80℃で1時間熱硬化させ、最終的に電池を作製した。
本発明によって作製した電極の表面を分析するために、下記のような実験を実施した。
本発明による架橋高分子がコーティングされた電極を含むリチウム二次電池の安全性を評価するために、下記のような実験を実施した。
本発明による架橋高分子がコーティングされた電極を含むリチウム二次電池のC-rate特性を評価するために、下記のような実験を実施した。
Claims (10)
- リチウム二次電池用電極であって、
電極活物質粒子の表面上に形成された架橋高分子コーティング層を備えてなり、
電極中に、互いに連結された状態の電極活物質粒子間に形成された気孔構造を保持してなるものであり、
前記架橋高分子コーティング層の厚さが、0.001〜10μmの範囲であり、
前記架橋高分子のモノマーが、下記一般式(I)及び一般式(II)で示される化合物群から選択されてなる一種以上である、リチウム二次電池用電極。
R 1 、R 2 及びR 3 は、それぞれ独立して、水素原子または炭素原子数1〜6個の低級アルキル基であり、
R 4 は、単一結合または
Xは、
nとmは、それぞれ0〜1000の整数であり、p及びqは、0〜20の整数であり(但し、p、qともに0である場合は除く)、
rは1〜6の整数であり、
iとjは、それぞれ1〜1000の整数であり、sは1〜20の整数である。〕 - 前記架橋高分子コーティング層が、電極活物質粒子及び該電極活物質粒子を連結及び固定するバインダーの表面上に独立した相で存在する、請求項1に記載のリチウム二次電池用電極。
- 前記電極が、予め作製した電極を架橋高分子のモノマーが溶解された溶液に含浸することで互いに連結された電極活物質粒子の表面に架橋高分子のモノマーコーティング層を形成させた後、硬化によって前記モノマーが架橋されてなるものである、請求項1又は2に記載のリチウム二次電池用電極。
- 前記架橋高分子が、使用する電池用電解液によって膨潤される、請求項1〜3の何れか一項に記載のリチウム二次電池用電極。
- 前記架橋高分子の含量が、電極活物質100重量%に対して、0.01〜50重量%の範囲である、請求項1〜4の何れか一項に記載のリチウム二次電池用電極。
- 前記電極の気孔度が、1〜50%の範囲である、請求項1〜5の何れか一項に記載のリチウム二次電池用電極。
- 正極と、負極と、両電極で挟まれたセパレータと、及び電解液とを備えてなり、
前記正極と負極のいずれか一方または両方が、請求項1〜6の何れか一項に記載のリチウム二次電池用電極である、リチウム二次電池。 - (a)電極活物質を含む電極スラリーを電流集電体に塗布し乾燥して電極を作製する段階と、
(b)前記作製された電極(a)を架橋高分子のモノマーが溶解された溶液に含浸させた後、乾燥する段階と、及び
(c)前記モノマーがコーティングされた電極を硬化させる段階とを含んでなる、請求項1〜6の何れか一項に記載のリチウム二次電池用電極を製造する方法。 - 前記段階(b)の溶液中の架橋高分子のモノマー含量が、溶液100重量%に対して0.1〜90重量%の範囲である、請求項8に記載のリチウム二次電池用電極の製造方法。
- 前記段階(b)における溶液が、熱またはUV開始剤を含む、請求項8又は9に記載のリチウム二次電池用電極の製造方法。
