Description

Claims (9)
- インク担持体上にインク液滴を吐出するための複数のインクジェットを含む、溶融型熱転写インク画像形成装置のプリントヘッドアセンブリに圧力源が通路を介して流体接続され、前記通路が開閉するバルブを備えた開口部を有する、溶融型熱転写インク画像形成装置を動作させる方法であって、
前記バルブを開閉することにより、前記圧力源から前記プリントヘッドアセンブリに圧力パルスを供給させ、前記圧力パルスが、前記バルブが閉状態のときパージ圧力が前記プリントヘッドアセンブリに供給され、前記バルブが開状態のとき補助圧力が前記プリントヘッドアセンブリに供給されるような圧力パルスであり、前記パージ圧力が前記補助圧力よりも大きく、前記圧力パルスが有するパルス持続時間及び振幅は、前記圧力パルスが前記複数のインクジェットからインクを吐出することなく、前記複数のインクジェットからインクを膨出させると共に、前記複数のインクジェット内のインクのメニスカスを振動させる、パルス持続時間及び振幅であること
を特徴とする、溶融型熱転写インク画像形成装置を動作させる方法。 - インクジェット画像形成装置における断続的脆弱/消失ジェット障害を減少させるシステムであって、
インクジェット画像形成装置のプリントヘッドアセンブリに流体接続されて前記プリントヘッドアセンブリにパージ圧力を供給する圧力源と、
前記プリントヘッドと前記圧力源とを流体接続する通路であって、開閉するバルブを備えた開口部を有する通路と、
前記バルブを開閉することにより、前記圧力源から圧力パルスを供給させるメンテナンスコントローラであって、前記圧力パルスが、前記バルブが閉状態のときパージ圧力が前記プリントヘッドアセンブリに供給され、前記バルブが開状態のとき補助圧力が前記プリントヘッドアセンブリに供給されるような圧力パルスであり、前記パージ圧力が前記補助圧力よりも大きく、前記圧力パルスのパルス持続時間及び振幅が、前記圧力パルスが前記複数のインクジェットからインクを吐出することなく、前記複数のインクジェットからインクを膨出させると共に、前記複数のインクジェット内のインクのメニスカスを振動させる、パルス持続時間及び振幅である、メンテナンスコントローラと、
を備えるシステム。 - 前記圧力パルスは、0.1psi〜8psiの圧力で、前記パルス持続時間が0.05秒〜1.5秒で供給される、請求項2に記載のシステム。
- 前記圧力パルスは、4.1psiの圧力で、前記パルス持続時間が1秒で供給される、請求項3に記載のシステム。
- 前記圧力パルスは、0.1psi〜8psiの正圧で供給される、請求項2に記載のシステム。
- 前記圧力パルスは、−0.1psi〜−8psiの負圧で供給される、請求項2に記載のシステム。
- 前記メンテナンスコントローラが、前記プリントヘッドアセンブリに複数の圧力パルスを含む圧力パルス列を供給するよう前記圧力源を作動させ、前記複数の圧力パルスの各々が0.1psi〜8psiの圧力で供給される、請求項2に記載のシステム。
- 前記圧力パルス列内の圧力パルスの圧力はパルスごとに変動する、請求項7に記載のシステム。
- インク担持体にインク液滴を吐出する複数のインクジェットを含むプリントヘッドアセンブリと、
圧力を供給する空気ポンプと、
前記プリントヘッドアセンブリと前記空気ポンプを流体接続する通路であって、開閉するバルブを備えた開口部を有する通路と、
前記バルブを開閉することにより、前記空気ポンプから圧力パルスを供給させるメンテナンスコントローラであって、前記圧力パルスが、前記バルブが閉状態のとき0.1psi〜8psiのパージ圧力が前記プリントヘッドアセンブリに供給され、前記バルブが開状態のとき補助圧力が前記プリントヘッドアセンブリに供給されるような圧力パルスであり、前記パージ圧力が前記補助圧力よりも大きく、前記圧力パルスのパルス持続時間が0.05秒〜1.5秒であり、前記圧力パルスのパルス持続時間及び振幅が、前記圧力パルスが前記複数のインクジェットからインクを吐出することなく、前記複数のインクジェットからインクを膨出させると共に、前記複数のインクジェット内のインクのメニスカスを振動させる、パルス持続時間及び振幅である、メンテナンスコントローラと、
を備える溶融型熱転写インク画像形成装置。
