Description
本発明は、車両に搭載されたバッテリーパックを冷却するための冷却装置に、より詳しくは、車両に搭載されたバッテリーパックを冷却するための冷却装置であって、該バッテリーパックが、該車両の、交互の谷及び峰を包含するコルゲート構造に構築された内部の下側末端部に取り付けられており、該バッテリーパックを構成するバッテリーモジュールが、各バッテリーモジュールを構成する単位電池が、該車両の該コルゲート状下側末端部の上に垂直に取り付けられるように配置され、該冷却装置が、該バッテリーパックの外側表面を密封状態で取り囲むハウジングの下側末端部材に形成された冷却剤入口及び冷却剤出口を備えてなる、冷却装置に関する。
化石燃料、例えばガソリンおよびディーゼル油、を使用する車両により引き起こされる最も大きな問題の一つは大気汚染である。上記の問題を解決する方法の一つとして、車両の動力源として充電及び放電可能な二次バッテリーを使用する技術に非常に大きな関心が集まっている。そのため、バッテリーだけを使用して作動する電気自動車(EV)、およびバッテリーと従来のエンジンを併用するハイブリッド電気自動車(HEV)が開発されている。現在、電気自動車及びハイブリッド電気自動車の一部は、商業的に使用されている。電気自動車(EV)およびハイブリッド電気自動車(HEV)の動力源としては、ニッケル−金属水素化物(Ni−MH)二次バッテリーが主として使用されている。しかし、最近ではリチウム−イオン二次バッテリーの使用が試みられている。
従って、本発明は、上記の問題および他の未解決の技術的問題を解決するためになされたものである。
本発明により、上記及び他の目的は、車両に搭載されたバッテリーパックを冷却するための冷却装置であって、該バッテリーパックが、該車両の、交互の谷及び峰を包含するコルゲート構造に構築された内部の下側末端部に取り付けられており、該バッテリーパックを構成するバッテリーモジュールが、各バッテリーモジュールを構成する単位電池が、該車両の該コルゲート状下側末端部の上に垂直に取り付けられるように配置され、該冷却装置が、該バッテリーパックの外側表面を密封状態で取り囲むハウジングの下側末端部材に形成された冷却剤入口及び冷却剤出口を備えてなる、冷却装置を提供することにより、達成することができる。
ここで、添付の図面を参照しながら、本発明の好ましい実施態様を詳細に説明する。しかし、本発明の範囲は、例示する実施態様に限定されるものではない。
上記の説明から明らかなように、本発明により、本発明の冷却装置は、車両の構造を利用して形成された冷却剤入口及び冷却剤出口を包含する。そのため、冷却装置を車両に安定して取り付け、車両の内側空間を効率的に活用し、バッテリー装置の体積を最少に抑えることができる。
Claims (7)
- 車両に搭載されたバッテリーパックを冷却するための冷却装置であって、
前記バッテリーパックが、前記車両の、交互の谷及び峰を包含するコルゲート構造に構築された内部の下側末端部に取り付けられてなり、
前記バッテリーパックを構成するバッテリーモジュールが、各バッテリーモジュールを構成する単位電池が、前記車両の前記コルゲート状下側末端部の上に垂直に取り付けられるように配置され、
前記冷却装置が、前記バッテリーパックの外側表面を密封状態で取り囲むハウジングの下側末端部材に形成された冷却剤入口及び冷却剤出口を備えてなり、
前記ハウジングの前記下側末端部材が、前記車両の前記コルゲート状下側末端に対応する構造に構築されてなり、
前記冷却装置が、前記冷却剤入口を通して前記冷却装置中に導入された前記冷却剤が、少なくとも一回垂直に上昇し、次いで前記冷却剤出口に向かって下降することができるように、前記バッテリーモジュール間に取り付けた、冷却剤の通過を案内するための仕切をさらに備えてなる、冷却装置。 - 前記冷却剤入口及び前記冷却剤出口が、前記ハウジングの前記下側末端部材の前記コルゲート状構造により形成されてなる、請求項1に記載の冷却装置。
- 前記仕切が、大量の冷却剤が前記冷却剤入口から前記冷却剤出口に直接流れるのを阻止できる予め決められた位置で、前記ハウジングの前記下側末端部材上に取り付けられてなる、請求項1に記載の冷却装置。
- 2個以上の仕切が、前記ハウジングの前記上側末端部材及び前記下側末端部材に交互に取り付けられてなる、請求項1に記載の冷却装置。
- 前記仕切が、前記冷却剤入口と前記冷却剤出口との間で、前記バッテリーモジュールに対して直角の方向で配置されてなる、請求項1に記載の冷却装置。
- 各仕切が、小さな直径を有する複数の通し穴を有する、請求項1〜5の何れか一項に記載の冷却装置。
- 前記通し穴が、前記通し穴の内径が各仕切の上部から下部に向かって減少するように構築されてなる、請求項6に記載の冷却装置。
