Description
The present invention relates to a mobile terminal array antenna that achieves high efficiency with two elements.
Mobile wireless terminals such as mobile phones are not limited to telephone functions, e-mail functions, access functions to the Internet, but short-range wireless communication functions, wireless LAN functions, GPS functions, TV viewing functions, IC card payment functions, etc. More and more functions are in progress. In addition, in cellular communication, as a technology for realizing a high-speed and large-capacity wireless communication system, spatial multiplexing transmission (MIMO) that performs communication using a plurality of antennas on the transmission side and the reception side (MIMO: Multi-Input Multi-Output) Is scheduled to be installed. In this method, spatial multiplexing is performed by transmitting the same signal, which is space-time encoded from a plurality of transmission antennas, in the same band, and information is extracted by receiving the signals from a plurality of reception antennas and separating the signals. As a result, the transfer rate can be improved and large-capacity communication can be performed. With such multi-functionalization, the number of antennas mounted on portable wireless terminals is increasing, and deterioration of antenna performance due to coupling between a plurality of antenna elements has become a serious issue.
On the other hand, in the case of portable radio terminals, further downsizing and higher integration are desired from the viewpoint of design and portability. In order to maintain good antenna characteristics while reducing the size of the device, the arrangement of antenna elements is required. In addition, various devices are required for coupling between the antenna elements. There is also a need for a high-performance antenna system in which the number of power feeding paths and the number of antenna elements is reduced as much as possible and measures against coupling deterioration are taken.
As a conventional portable radio device that copes with such a problem of coupling between antenna elements, for example, as disclosed in
Further, as means for improving efficiency, a configuration is known in which each chip antenna and each radiation conductor are arranged at right angles to suppress a change in impedance, as described in
In addition, as another means corresponding to high efficiency, as described in
However, in the conventional configurations described in Non-Patent
Further, in the conventional configuration of
In addition, in the conventional configuration of
In order to solve the above-described problem in a mobile terminal in which an asymmetric two-element antenna for the purpose of dealing with MIMO or the like is mounted in an array, the present invention is already provided at the tip of one of the antenna elements. The antenna element is bent at a substantially right angle so as not to approach one antenna element, and the other antenna element is configured such that the tip portion protrudes from the antenna element bent at a substantially right angle. Thus, since the amount of current canceling each other out on the antenna elements can be reduced, an array antenna device capable of realizing higher efficiency than the conventional one at an arbitrary frequency and a portable wireless terminal equipped with the array antenna device are provided. is there.

And a first connection circuit that electrically connects the first antenna element and the second antenna element, wherein the first antenna element and the second antenna element are ground patterns on the circuit board. Are arranged close to each other at a predetermined interval, and are electrically connected to a first power feeding unit and a second power feeding unit arranged at an end of the circuit board, and the first connection circuit is it possible to adjust with high efficiency so as to cancel the mutual coupling impedance between said first antenna elements in one frequency band the second antenna element, the second antenna element, Tokoro its tip Long enough, in a direction away from said first antenna element is formed by bending substantially at a right angle, the first antenna element at its distal end, than the substantially right angle bent portion of the second antenna element The tip portion is configured to protrude by a predetermined length . Further, with respect to the wavelength of the first frequency band, the amount bending of the bending portion in the second antenna element is 0.02 wavelength or more and 0.12 wavelengths or less, the projecting portion in said first antenna element The protrusion amount of was set to be 0.02 wavelength or more and 0.20 wavelength or less.

Therefore, it is possible to realize an array antenna that can achieve higher efficiency than before in an arbitrary frequency.

Embodiments of the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings.
(Embodiment 1)
FIG. 1 is a configuration diagram of a portable radio terminal according to
As shown in FIG. 1, a first
Both the first
In FIG. 1, both the
Since the parallel portions of the
Therefore, the
Further, the
Further, as shown in FIG. 1, the end of the
In the configuration of FIG. 1, the
FIG. 2 is a diagram showing a specific configuration of the first connection circuit according to
As shown in FIG. 2, the first connection circuit can be configured with (a) a capacitor, (b) an inductor, (c) a parallel resonance circuit, (d) a series resonance circuit, and (e) a meander pattern. Further, any other configuration may be used as long as an equivalent circuit can be expressed by a combination of a capacitor and an inductor, such as a filter or a capacitor configured with a pattern, and the mutual coupling impedance can be adjusted. Furthermore, the structure which combined these two or more may be sufficient.
In the configuration of FIG. 1, mutual coupling occurs between two antenna elements. However, by arranging an impedance matching circuit, it is possible to comprehensively adjust the mutual coupling impedance. As a result, in the first frequency band, S12 and S21, which are pass characteristics between the first
Then, the example which analyzed the performance about the specific structure of FIG. 1 is shown.
FIG. 3 is a diagram showing a characteristic analysis model of the portable wireless terminal according to
As shown in FIG. 3 (a), the
The
The
As shown in FIG. 3B, the
FIG. 4 is an S parameter characteristic diagram according to
As shown in FIG. 4A, S11 at 2 GHz has a low value of −10 dB or less, and it can be seen that impedance matching is achieved in this frequency band. Further, as shown in FIG. 4B, S22 at 2 GHz similarly has a low value of −10 dB or less, and it can be seen that impedance matching is achieved in this frequency band. Further, as shown in FIG. 4 (c), S21 which is a pass characteristic at 2 GHz has a low value of −10 dB or less, and isolation is ensured in this frequency band, and coupling deterioration is reduced. I understand. Thus, it can be seen that at 2 GHz, impedance matching and isolation can be ensured, and coupling degradation is reduced.
Next, antenna characteristics when the protruding amount b of the protruding

FIG. 6 shows the free space efficiency after decoupling of the conditions shown in FIG. 5 derived by simulation. Here, the preliminary state is a state where both the bending amount a and the protruding amount b are zero. It can be seen that
FIG. 7 shows a range in which the bending amount “a” and the protrusion amount “b” are superior to the prior state. When at least one is equal to or greater than the prior state and the other is equal to the prior state or the deterioration from the prior state is 1 dB or less, a and b satisfy the following
Moreover, when at least one is more than a prior state and the other is deterioration from a prior state is 3 dB or less, it is a case where a and b satisfy | fill following
Thus, according to the first embodiment, the coupling degradation can be improved in the first frequency band used by operating the
