Description
The present invention relates to a content distribution system for distributing content such as music and video from a server to a client.
Various content distribution systems are provided in which a server distributes content such as music and video via a network such as a wired LAN or a wireless LAN in response to a request from a client. One example of this type of content distribution system is described in
By the way, the user of the above-described conventional content distribution system can receive the content distribution one by one, but can also receive the content distribution in units such as all the songs recorded on one CD. However, even in the latter case, each song of the CD is stored in the server as a separate content. For this reason, in the conventional content distribution system, for example, when distributing the content of all songs for one CD from the server, the first song is distributed from the server to the client, and the reproduction of the first song is completed at the client. When the server notifies the server, the server distributes the second song, and the server distributes the subsequent content after waiting for the completion of the reproduction of the preceding content on the client side. It was. Here, a certain amount of waiting time is required until a notification of completion of reproduction is sent from the client to the server, subsequent content is distributed from the server to the client, and reproduction of the subsequent content is started on the client side. Therefore, on the client side, each piece of music is played back with this waiting time. If each song to be played is an independent song, such a waiting time is not so painful for the user. However, there may be a case where the user of the content distribution system receives distribution of all songs of an album recorded live, for example. In this type of album, sound is generated between songs, and when a CD is played, the sound between such songs is also played. However, when the distribution of all the songs of such an album is received using the content distribution system, the music played back on the client side has a relatively long silence period between the songs, and the CD Compared to playback, the music is unnatural.
The present invention has been made in view of the circumstances as described above, and an object of the present invention is to provide a content distribution system capable of continuously reproducing a plurality of contents without leaving a waiting time in a client. .
In order to solve the above-described problems, the present invention includes a server and a client connected to the server via a network, and the server stores a plurality of contents and content-attached information related to each content, A transmission means for sequentially reading each content constituting the group from the storage means and continuously transmitting to the client when a distribution request for a plurality of grouped contents is received from the client; The client reads the content and content attached information from the server, a buffer for sequentially storing the content received by the receiving unit, and the content stored in the buffer in order from the previously stored content. Reproducing means for reproducing the content and the content Prior raw, comprising a display means for displaying information based on the content attribute information corresponding to the content, the transmission unit, after finishing transmission of the last data of the first content from the storage unit, the group The content-attached information related to the second content, which is the next content of the first content, is transmitted in the plurality of converted contents, and the transmission of the second content is started following the transmission of the content-attached information. A content distribution system is provided.
According to this invention, when there is a distribution request for a plurality of grouped contents, the contents are continuously sent from the server to the client, so that the contents are continuously reproduced on the client side. The

Embodiments of the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings.
<First Embodiment>
FIG. 1 is a block diagram showing the configuration of a content distribution system according to the first embodiment of the present invention. In FIG. 1, a server 100 is connected to one or a plurality of clients 200 via a network such as a LAN. The server 100 is a device that distributes content in response to a request from the client 200. In the present embodiment, multimedia information content including stream data of a video track and stream data of an audio track is sent from the server 100 to the client 200. The server 100 includes a
The client 200 is a device that sends a content distribution request to the server 100 in accordance with a user operation and reproduces the content distributed from the server 100 in response thereto. The client 200 includes a
In the present embodiment, there are two methods for specifying content to be distributed: an individual specification method for specifying content one by one, and a group specification method for specifying a group consisting of a plurality of contents. By operating the
FIG. 2 is a sequence diagram showing a first operation example of this embodiment when the continuous transmission mode is selected. When a distribution request regarding a group including a plurality of contents is sent from the client 200 to the server 100 (step S101), the
First, the
The
In this embodiment, feedback control is performed such that when the remaining amount of the buffer 205 exceeds a predetermined amount, the transmission speed of the content A is decreased, and when the remaining amount is lower than the predetermined amount, the transmission speed is increased. A constant remaining amount is maintained in the buffer 205 by such feedback control. Therefore, even if data transmission between the server 100 and the client 200 occurs due to factors such as network congestion, The data remaining in 205 is supplied to the
When the
When the
Even after the reception of the data of the content B is started, the data of the content A that has not been reproduced remains in the buffer 205 for a while. During this time, the reproduction of the content A continues in the client 200, but the
The
Thereafter, when the reproduction of the content B, which is the last content, is completed, the
As described above, according to the present embodiment, a plurality of contents constituting a group can be continuously reproduced on the client 200 side.
FIG. 3 is a sequence diagram showing a second operation example of this embodiment. In this operation example, a distribution request for a group consisting of contents A, B and C is sent from the client 200 to the server 100 (step S201), and the distribution of the content A (step S202) is performed accordingly. Subsequently, distribution of content B (step S203) is started. After the start of distribution of the content B, while the content A is still being reproduced in the client 200, a change request for reproducing the content C instead of the content B is sent from the client 200 to the server 100. Has been sent (step S204).
When receiving the change request, the
On the other hand, after sending an instruction to clear content B,
When receiving the content attachment information of the content C, the
In this way, in the client 200, the content C is stored in the buffer 205 after the content A, and therefore the content C is reproduced following the content A.
Second Embodiment
In the present embodiment, when a plurality of contents are continuously sent from the server to the client in the continuous transmission mode, the client is caused to perform cross-fade reproduction of the audio track stream data among the continuous contents. . In order to perform cross-fade reproduction for only the audio track, in this embodiment, a buffer 205 and an audio track are separately provided as the buffer 205. Since the processing of the video track data is the same as in the first embodiment, the description thereof will be omitted, and only the processing of the audio track data will be described below.
Dx=(1−r)Da+rDb
FIG. 4 explains the principle of crossfade reproduction performed in this embodiment. In the present embodiment, the audio track stream data constituting the content is PCM data, and is pre-emphasized. In the client 200, when content is received by the
Dx = (1-r) Da + rDb
Here, r continuously changes from 0 to 1 as the write address of the calculation result Dx advances from the address ADRe-ΔA to the address ADRe. In this way, the last predetermined length portion of the received content A and the new predetermined length portion of the newly received content B are crossfade, and the data after the crossfade is stored in the buffer 205. It is. After the write address reaches ADRe, the received content B data is stored in an area after the address ADRe of the buffer 205 without being crossfaded.
The
When the reproduction music is switched from the content A to the content B, it is necessary to switch the title displayed on the screen from the content included in the content accessory information of the content A to the one included in the content accessory information of the content B. is there. This switching may be performed when the write address of the data Dx after the crossfade becomes, for example, ADRe−ΔA / 2.
<Third Embodiment>
Similarly to the second embodiment, in this embodiment, when a plurality of contents are continuously sent from the server to the client in the continuous transmission mode, the client performs the crossfade reproduction of the stream data of the audio track among the continuous contents. It is something that is made to do.
FIG. 5 explains the principle of crossfade reproduction performed in this embodiment. In the present embodiment, the audio track stream data is encoded data obtained by encoding using, for example, an MP3 (
