Description
Claims (12)
- バイオ反応器装置であって、
(a)側壁、床及び天井を備え、水及び光合成微生物のスラリーを収容する室を規定するコンテナーと、
(b)室の外部に配置された第1端部と、混合物内に配置された第2端部と、を夫々備える複数の光ファイバーであって、該第2端部が、光ビームが光ファイバーを出る先端を備え、各光ファイバーの該第2端部の先端が混合物内で相当量の光が出る光ファイバーの唯一の部分である、光ファイバーと、
(c)該コンテナーから隔てられ、上から入射する光を該複数の光ファイバーの該第1端部上に焦点合わせしている光収集器と、そして
(d)少なくとも二酸化炭素を有するガスのソースと流体連通する少なくとも1つのノズルであって、該ノズルは、該ガスを該混合物内に噴射し、微生物を該光ファイバーの該第2端部を過ぎるよう流れさせ、該光ファイバーの第2端部から出る光にさらすために、該光ファイバーの該第2端部の下で該混合物内に配置されるノズル、
を具備することを特徴とするバイオ反応器装置。 - 該コンテナー側壁に設置され、該光ファイバーの該第2端部が、該ファイバーの該第2端部を横に隔てさせて該ファイバーを安定化させるために通って延びるハンガーを更に具備することを特徴とする請求項1記載のバイオ反応器装置。
- 前記少なくとも1つのノズルは、該室の1領域に配置された第1ノズルと、該室の第2の、より高い領域に配置された第2ノズルと、を更に備えており、該第1ノズルが該光ファイバーの前記第2端部の少なくとも幾つかの下にあり、該第2ノズルが該第1ノズルの上で、該光ファイバーの該第2端部の少なくとも幾つかの下にあることを特徴とする請求項1記載のバイオ反応器装置。
- 該ハンガーが固定した軸方向位置で該光ファイバーの該第2端部を保持することを特徴とする請求項2記載のバイオ反応器装置。
- 微生物を成長させる方法であって、
(a)室を規定する側壁及び床を有するコンテナー内に水及び光合成微生物の混合物を配置する過程と、
(b)第1端部が該室の外部にある複数の光伝送ファイバーの複数の第1端部を光に露出する過程と、
(c)該第2端部が光を該室へ伝送するために混合物内で相当量の光が出る光ファイバーの唯一の部分である先端を有し、それにより光ファイバーの第2端部の先端で該室内に明領域を創るように、該光伝送ファイバーの複数の第2端部を該混合物内に延ばす過程と、
(d)該光伝送ファイバーの該第2端部の下で該混合物内にノズルを配置する過程と、そして
(e)該微生物により吸収されるガス含有物質を、該ノズルを通して該混合物内に噴射する過程であって、該噴射されたガスが、該第2端部に近い明領域と、該光ファイバーの該第2端部から及び該光ファイバーの側面に沿って隔てられた暗領域と、の間で微生物を流れさせる該過程、
を具備することを特徴とする微生物を成長させる方法。 - 前記少なくとも1つの光伝送ファイバーの少なくとも1部分を該コンテナーに対し安定化させる過程を更に具備することを特徴とする請求項5記載の方法。
- 該室の外部に光収集器を配置する過程と、該光を前記少なくとも1つの光伝送ファイバーの該第1端部上に焦点合わせする過程と、そしてその上の入射光を最大化するために該光収集器を変位させる過程と、を更に具備することを特徴とする請求項5記載の方法。
- 第1ノズルを該室の1領域に配置し且つ第2ノズルを該室の第2の、より高い領域に、配置する過程を更に具備することを特徴とする請求項5記載の方法。
- 該ガスを噴射する過程が、該ファイバーを横に変位させ、それにより該ファイバーの該第2端部を側壁に接触させる過程を更に備えることを特徴とする請求項5記載の方法。
- ハウジング内に該コンテナーを配置する過程を更に具備することを特徴とする請求項5記載の方法。
- ハウジングを有し且つ化石燃料の燃焼から排気ガスを創るパワー発生装置、を更に具備しており、該コンテナーが該ハウジング内に配置されることを特徴とする請求項1記載のバイオ反応器装置。
- (a)各々が該ハウジング内に配置される、水及び光合成微生物のスラリーを収容する室を規定する、側壁、床及び天井を備える複数のコンテナーと、そして
(b)該排気ガスと流体連通する複数のノズルと、を更に具備し、
前記ノズルの1つが該コンテナーの各々内に配置され、該ノズルが該排気ガスを各コンテナーの該混合物内に噴射することを特徴とする請求項11記載のバイオ反応器装置。
