Description

The present invention relates to a method for providing an electronic advertisement service using an interactive television that allows a broadcast station and a user to exchange information interactively. This is related to a method of providing a function that operates in conjunction with selection, advertisement analysis, and subscription fee processing.

Conventional television receivers have a function of receiving and displaying images broadcast using terrestrial, satellite broadcasting, or CATV networks. In addition, recently, there are some CS broadcasting receivers that have a function of receiving and displaying data in which characters and images are multiplexed in addition to video. Character and image data can be displayed in association with video, and is used as a service for acquiring additional information for the video at a time other than video.

On the other hand, as an example of applying the PC technology to television, a service called Internet television has come out. That is, it is a receiver that can implement Internet services (homepage browsing, mail, news, etc.) using a television. In Internet television, text and image data and data created for Internet television are placed on a dedicated server and delivered to a user terminal through a communication line. A feature of Internet television is that not only push-type information distribution such as broadcasting, but also a pull-type service that distributes information according to user requests is possible. In other words, although it is in the form of a television, bidirectional communication is possible like a PC. Such a television capable of providing services using two-way communication is called interactive television (ITV).

When the video is broadcast by push-type information distribution as in the past, the revenue source of the private broadcasting station is the advertising fee for the video advertisement inserted in the program. On the Internet, there is a business that charges an advertiser an advertising fee by attaching an electronic advertisement of text or an image to content. Both are expected to be used in interactive TV advertising, but electronic advertising based on characters and images developed based on the PC world is a new advertising model in the TV world.

The above-described two advertisement models, that is, a video advertisement such as a conventional television broadcast is compared with an electronic advertisement of characters and images performed on the Internet. First, a conventional video advertisement in a television broadcast is an advertisement broadcast unilaterally by a broadcast program determined by the broadcasting station. This method ensures the number of advertisement broadcasts, which is a unilateral pressing for the user, but makes it easier for the advertiser to predict the advertising effect. On the other hand, electronic advertisements of characters and images on the Internet have advertisements attached as additional information to the content selected by the user, and it is left to the user's will to select the advertisement. Therefore, since advertisements unnecessary for the user can be ignored, the advertiser is not guaranteed to refer to them. For this reason, advertising models that guarantee a certain number of references are now available.

It can be said that electronic advertisements of characters and images that will appear in interactive TV are facing the same problems as the Internet advertising model. In other words, it is the user who holds the initiative of reference, and it can be said that the advertising model is difficult to reflect the intention of the advertiser. In addition, on the Internet, as means for increasing the number of advertisement references, a method of moving an image or making an advertisement with an input field to attract the user's attention is being tried. However, these are just methods for attracting the user's attention, and an increase in the number of references to an advertisement in which the user is interested can be expected, but this does not necessarily lead to an increase in the number of references for the entire advertisement. This is because the user cannot see the direct merit of referring to the advertisement.

In order to solve the above problems, the present invention applies an interactive television advertising system. In interactive television, it is conceivable to take a membership system like current CATV stations and CS broadcast stations. Therefore, in the present invention, attention is paid to a subscriber management system that has already been introduced in a CATV station or the like, and a cooperative operation is performed with a character or image advertising service in an interactive television.

In the advertising system for interactive television, the billing system for advertising charges is linked with a conventional subscriber management system, thereby eliminating the need to newly create various billing processes such as billing and payment management. Accordingly, the subscriber's personal information of the subscriber management system is referred to, and the following functions for solving the above problems are realized using the information.

(1) The subscriber's preference and the intention of the advertiser are reflected by matching the personal information of the subscriber managed by the subscriber management system with the information of the advertisement provided by the advertiser.

(2) In the analysis of advertisement reference history, the personal information managed by the subscriber management system is taken into account to provide the advertiser with the result of detailed analysis in various ways.

(3) By discounting the usage fee according to the number of times the advertisement is referred to the billing process of the subscriber management system, it is possible to directly appeal the advantage of referring to the advertisement to the user.

According to the present invention, when an electronic advertisement of characters and images on an interactive television is provided to a subscriber, the selection probability can be set by including not only the preference of the subscriber but also the intention of the advertiser. It becomes like this. In addition, by setting a viewing restriction on the advertisement, it is possible to prevent the advertisement from being selected depending on the personal information of the user.

In addition, according to the present invention, when analysis based on the advertisement reference history is performed as information on the effect of the electronic advertisement, analysis including the subscriber's personal information can be performed. That is, it becomes possible to include information on the subscriber's address, age, family structure, etc. in the distribution of the number of times the advertisement is referred to.

In addition, according to the present invention, it is possible to provide a service in which a usage fee is discounted when a user refers to an electronic advertisement of characters and images on an interactive television. That is, it is expected that the number of times of referring to the advertisement is increased by providing an effect that is directly understandable for the user.

FIG. 1 is an explanatory diagram showing the configuration of an interactive television targeted by the present invention. As with a conventional television, the video (101) is broadcast (102) to the user terminal (103) of each home using terrestrial waves, satellite broadcasting, or the CATV network (102). Furthermore, as described in the prior art, there are cases where data in which characters and images (105) are multiplexed in addition to video (101) is broadcast. In addition to this, interactive television has a form of distribution in which data of characters and images (105) is placed on a dedicated server (106) and delivered to the user terminal (103) through the communication line (107). The user terminal (103) that has received the data displays the data on the television screen and waits for user input. When the user performs an action such as selection on the displayed data, the request is sent to the server (106) through the communication line (107), and the data corresponding to the request is distributed again. Communication (108) will be performed.

FIG. 1 shows an example of a form of an interactive television. A form in which broadcasting and a communication line are separated as described above is generally used, but a line used for broadcasting is obtained by using a cable modem as a communication line in CATV. There is also a form in which the line used for bidirectional communication is the same. In the present invention, since the configuration of the interactive television is not so important, what has both means of broadcasting and two-way communication will be collectively referred to as interactive television.

FIG. 2 is a configuration diagram when an advertising system for interactive television (ITV) is introduced on the broadcasting station side in the configuration of FIG. In an interactive television broadcasting station, there is a subscriber management system (202) for grasping subscriber information. In FIG. 2, a CATV station (201) where membership management has already been performed and a subscriber management system (202) has been introduced will be described as an example. The subscriber management system (202) is a system that manages the contract contents of CATV, user ID, address, family structure, etc., and periodically charges (206) a usage fee to the subscriber (205). . In the subscriber management system (202), in the subscription fee billing process (203), a usage fee is calculated based on the contract contents, and a bill for each subscriber is created in the billing process (204). It is a mechanism to do.

When the interactive television advertising system (207) is introduced here, the interactive television advertising system (207) also has an advertising fee billing process (208) and a billing process (209). The flow is to charge (211) the fee. That is, two types of billing processes, a usage fee and an advertisement fee, can be made in the same CATV station. Therefore, consider integrating both billing processes.

FIG. 3 is an explanatory diagram showing the configuration when the billing process is integrated with the subscriber management system. The interactive television (ITV) advertising system (301) receives subscriber information (303) from the subscriber management system (302) and calculates an advertising fee. Thereafter, the interactive television advertising system only performs notification (304) of the advertising fee, and the billing processing (305) and billing processing (306) of the advertising fee are all performed on the subscriber management system (302) side. In the billing process (306), depending on the type of subscriber, if the advertiser is the advertiser (308), the billing of the advertising fee is performed (309), and if the subscriber is a normal subscriber (310), the usage fee is charged. The usage fee calculated in the process (307) is charged (311).

This method also simplifies user management and billing when the advertiser is both an advertiser and a subscriber. In FIG. 3, it appears that the billing process (304) for advertisement is built into the subscriber management system (302). However, in the current subscriber management system (302), an option fee for a service unique to the broadcasting station is used. In addition, there is a built-in mechanism for adding a usage fee when a fee is notified from the outside. For example, when connecting to the Internet using a CATV network, an Internet connection fee is charged in addition to the CATV basic fee. However, the Internet billing system is a separate program, and is realized by notifying the Internet fee from the outside. Using the same method, the advertising fee billing (308) processing for the advertiser (307) and the usage bill billing (311) processing for the user (310) are unified by notifying the advertising fee from the outside. Can do.

According to the system shown in FIG. 3, the interactive television advertising system acquires subscriber information from the subscriber management system. In the present invention, using this, (a) a service that reflects subscriber information in advertisement selection conditions, and (b) a subscriber preference analysis result based on advertisement reference history is obtained from the advertiser. We have devised three services: (c) a service in which the number of advertisement references is reflected as a discount on subscriber fees.

FIG. 4 is an explanatory diagram showing a flow of service by cooperation between the interactive television advertising system and the subscriber management system. First, a service that reflects subscriber information in advertisement selection conditions will be described. When the subscriber (401) refers to the advertisement (402), the interactive television advertising system (403) receives it, selects an appropriate advertisement corresponding to the area where the advertisement is displayed, attaches it, and returns it to the subscriber. At this time, the subscriber management table (405) managed by the subscriber management system (404) is acquired (405), and a personalized advertisement (406) is provided by making a selection based on the data. it can.

The subscriber management table is a table for managing subscribers registered in the CATV station, for example, and holds information as shown in FIG. The user ID (601) is a code for identifying a subscriber, and a unique value is assigned to all subscribers. The contract content (602) is information used when, for example, a program to be viewed is contracted to determine a usage fee, and a normal usage fee is calculated based on this information. In addition to this, there is a pay per view that is charged every time a program is viewed, but it is omitted because it is not directly related to the present invention. The address (603) holds the address of the subscriber. Since interactive TV needs to be billed for usage fees, the address may be considered an essential item. The family structure (604) holds information such as the subscriber's family and living together. Services that use this information to customize ads include, for example, placing ads intensively in areas close to the area where the advertiser ’s store is located, based on the age and gender targeted by the advertiser, The probability of advertisements can be changed depending on the family structure.

Next, a service that provides the advertiser with an analysis result of the preference of the subscriber based on the advertisement reference history will be described. The advertisement reference history analysis has already been carried out in the Internet advertising system, etc., but the reference history analysis result (410) in this system does not simply analyze and provide the number of references for each advertisement, but subscribes. It becomes possible to analyze in association with the personal information (405) of the subscriber held by the subscriber management system (404). For example, a special questionnaire that analyzes the reference distribution for each region based on subscriber address and reference count data, or analyzes the age-specific reference distribution based on subscriber age and reference count data, etc. Can be implemented without using. By providing such an analysis result to the advertiser (409), the advertising effect of the advertisement can be appealed, and it can be expected that a store or the like that has conducted a questionnaire or the like newly registers as an advertiser.

Finally, it is a service in which the number of advertisement references is reflected as a usage fee discount for subscribers. When the subscriber (401) references (402) the advertisement, the interactive television advertising system (403) receives it and returns an advertisement customized for the individual. At that time, the number of references is held for each subscriber. Then, when a usage fee is charged to the subscriber at the end of the month, the subscriber management system (404) is notified of a discount according to the number of times of reference (407). In the subscriber management system (404), the subscriber (401) is charged (408) for a usage fee discounted from the normal usage fee based on the notified amount. This service is a service aimed at increasing the number of advertisement references by appealing the effect in a form that the user can intuitively understand, such as discounting the fee.

FIG. 5 is an explanatory diagram showing the overall system configuration of the present invention. The interactive television advertising system is roughly divided into three modules: an individual advertisement selection (501) module, a preference analysis (502) module, and a discount charge notification (503) module. These correspond to the three services described in FIG. In addition, this system uses three tables: an advertisement table (504), a reference history table (505), and an analysis result table (506). Further, as described above, the information in the subscriber management table (507) of the subscriber management system is also referred to.

The personal advertisement selection module (501) is a service module that reflects subscriber information in advertisement selection conditions. When the subscriber (508) tries to refer to the advertisement column, an advertisement request and a user ID are transmitted from the subscriber's terminal to the individual advertisement selection module (501). This user ID corresponds to the user ID in the subscriber management table (507). That is, when the personal advertisement selection module (501) receives the user ID, it is possible to recognize who has requested the advertisement. Upon receiving the advertisement request and the user ID, the personal advertisement selection module (501) acquires personal information such as an address and family structure from the subscriber management table (507) using the user ID as a key.

Next, the advertisement table (504) is accessed, and the registered advertisement information is acquired. The structure of the advertisement table is shown in FIG. The advertisement ID (701) is a value given to each advertisement with a unique value, and is used when an advertisement is designated. The target area (702) is mainly used for narrowing down the advertiser's will to advertise to subscribers in that area. As with the target area, the target age (703) is also used to narrow down the advertiser's will to advertise mainly to that age group. The viewing restriction condition (704) is different from the target area and target age, and when the condition is not satisfied, the advertisement is not selected. The category (705) stores the category of the advertisement, and is used when selecting an advertisement reflecting the data when analyzing the preference and the preference analysis result. Along with such information, advertisement data (706) is stored as character or image data. Using this advertisement data, matching is performed with the subscriber's personal information, and a score is given so as to increase the number of advertisements that most closely match the personal information.

Next, the personal preference analysis result generated by the preference analysis module (502) described later is acquired. Specifically, the preference analysis result holds a category in which personal preference strongly appears. The advertisement matched with the personal information in the subscriber management table is further scored by matching with the category of the preference analysis result. Selection probabilities are assigned so that the scores obtained by the two types of matching are easily selected in descending order. It is considered that there are many zero-point advertisements in scoring, but even in that case, the probability of selection should not be 0%. That is, the role of this module is to assist the selection of advertisements that meet the conditions, so that a specific advertisement is not always displayed. However, advertisements that do not satisfy the viewing restriction condition (704) specified in the advertisement table are excluded so that the selection probability becomes 0%.

FIG. 10 is a flowchart of the process of the personal advertisement selection module. The personal advertisement selection module that has acquired the advertisement request and user ID from the subscriber requests the subscriber management system for the subscriber's personal information, and acquires the subscriber management table using the user ID as a key (1001). To do. The subscriber management table contains data on address, family structure, and viewing restriction conditions for each user ID of the subscriber. Also, preference analysis result data is requested from the preference analysis module, and an analysis result table is acquired (1002) using the user ID as a key.

The analysis result table includes an advertisement category and a reference count for each user ID. Using these two tables, matching with the attribute of the advertisement is performed. First, one advertisement table is acquired (1003), and matching with the subscriber management table is performed (1005). FIG. 11 shows the flow of matching processing with the subscriber management table. When performing matching, the viewing restriction condition is different from other conditions, and it is necessary to prevent selection if the condition is not cleared. Therefore, the viewing restriction condition is first checked (1101). The following processing is performed only when the condition is cleared (1102). If not clear, the advertisement score is set to a negative value (1112). This is because when the selection probability of the advertisement is obtained later, if the score is negative, it cannot be unconditionally selected with a probability of 0%. When the condition is cleared, the subscriber's address and the target area of the advertisement are compared (1103), and if within the same area (1104), a score is added to the advertisement (1105).

Next, the age of the subscriber is compared with the target age of the advertisement (1106), and if it is within the target age range (1107), a score is added to the advertisement (1108). Similarly, the age of the subscriber's family is compared with the target age of the advertisement (1109), and if it is within the target age range (1110), a score is added to the advertisement (1111). The scores added for each check need not all be the same. Rather, it is considered that a more natural matching result can be obtained by appropriately weighting each. For example, if the matching result based on the age of the subscriber is scored higher than the matching result for the age of the family, the preference of the subscriber becomes strong. Next, matching (1006) with the analysis result table (506) is performed. FIG. 12 shows the flow of matching processing with the analysis result table. In the matching process with the analysis result table, the category of the analysis result table and the category of the advertisement are compared (1201), and when the category is the same (1202), the score of the advertisement is only added. In other words, it is a process that makes it easy to select an advertisement of a category that seems to be a subscriber's preference. The above matching process is repeated until the next advertisement table is acquired (1007) and there are no advertisements (1004). At this point, all the advertisements are scored, and data in a state where the score of the advertisement that matches the condition is higher is completed. A selection probability is set based on the score (1008), and an advertisement with a higher score is selected more easily.

FIG. 13 is a flow of processing for setting the selection probability. The total score of all advertisements is obtained for the advertisement scored by the matching process (1301), and the lowest score that is not zero is added to the total score (1302). For example, if the number of advertisements is five: advertisement A = 10, advertisement B = 6, advertisement C = 2, advertisement D = 0, and advertisement E = 0, the total score is (10 + 6 + 2) +2 points will be 20 points. The lowest score added later is the probability of selecting the zero point advertisement. That is, if the score is not zero (1303), the probability is obtained by “ad selection probability = ad score / total score” (1304), and if the score is zero (1303), “ad selection probability = ( (Minimum score / total score) / number of zero-point advertisements]. As explained in the previous example, since advertisement A is not zero, 10 ÷ 20 = 0.5, and the selection probability is 50%. Since advertisement D is zero, the lowest two points are used, and (2 ÷ 20) ÷ 2 = The value is 0.05 and the selection probability is 5%. After that, an advertisement is randomly selected in consideration of the set selection probability (1009), and the selected advertisement is returned to the subscriber (1010). The point of this method is that filtering by the subscriber management table (507) is performed before filtering by the analysis result table (506). That is, it is possible to add filtering reflecting not only the personal preference but also the advertiser's intention to provide an advertisement intensively to a certain region or age group.

広告テーブル(1401)には、現在banner001(1402)、banner002(1403)、banner003(1404)の3つの広告が登録されている。 次に対象年齢では、加入者本人は33歳であるので、banner001(1402)とbanner002(1403)が得点される。 The operation of the personal advertisement selection module (501) as a whole will be described with reference to FIG. Three advertisements, banner001 (1402), banner002 (1403), and banner003 (1404) are currently registered in the advertisement table (1401). When the subscriber (1405) “user001” tries to display a page with an advertisement, an advertisement request and a user ID are sent to the personal advertising system (1406). By searching the subscriber management table (1407) with the user ID “user001”, it is possible to acquire information “address is A city” and “family structure is 33 years old, wife is 28 years old, and child is 5 years old” (1408). ). The value of this subscriber management table is matched with the attribute of each advertisement (1409). First, if you confirm that the viewing restriction conditions have been cleared, banner003 (1404) is targeted for those aged 19 and under, and the 33-year-old subscriber has not cleared the conditions. Remove from the subject. In the target area, banner001 (1402) targeting “A city” is scored. Here, 10 points are added. Next, since the subscriber is 33 years old, banner001 (1402) and banner002 (1403) are scored. Assume that 10 points have also been added.

したがってbanner001(1402)が合致する。 Finally, if it is checked whether the target age is matched in the family, since the subscriber's wife is 28 years old, the condition of banner001 (1402) is met. Since this condition does not match the condition of the subscriber, the score is reduced and 5 points are added. So far, banner001 is 25 points, banner002 is 10 points, and banner003 is -10 points. Next, matching with the analysis result table is performed (1410). An analysis result table (1412) is requested to the preference analysis module (1411). The table states that the subscriber's favorite category is “movie”. Therefore, banner001 (1402) matches. In this example, 15 points are added so that personal preference appears stronger. As a result, banner001 becomes 40 points. An advertisement selection probability is set for the advertisement scored by the above processing (1413). First, banner003 is out of scope because it has a negative score. Therefore, the total score of banner001 and banner002 is 50 points. In the example, since there is no zero point advertisement, each score is divided by the total points, banner001 is set to 80%, and banner002 is set to 20%. After that, an advertisement is selected at random with this probability, and the advertisement is returned to the subscriber (1414). Of course, banner001 is often selected, then banner002 is selected, and banner003 is not selected. This scoring is just an example, and if you want to place many ads with strong local colors, you can customize each broadcast station by customizing it, such as increasing the number of matching scores for the target area. .

The preference analysis module (502) is a module for obtaining a subscriber preference analysis result based on the advertisement reference history. The preference analysis module (502) has two main functions. One is a personal preference analysis function, and the other is an analysis function for advertisers.

The personal preference analysis function updates the reference history table (505) each time an advertisement is referred to. The structure of the reference history table is shown in FIG. The advertisement ID (801) is an advertisement ID selected by the personal advertisement selection module (501) and corresponds to the advertisement ID of the advertisement table (504). The user ID (802) is sent from the subscriber (508) and corresponds to the user ID in the subscriber management table (507). The reference count (803) stores how many times the subscriber corresponding to the user ID (802) referred to the advertisement corresponding to the advertisement ID (801). Each time the subscriber sees the advertisement, this value is counted up. Next, an advertisement table (504) is acquired using the advertisement ID (801) of the referenced advertisement as a key.

Then, the user ID (802), the category in the advertisement table (504), and the reference count are associated with each other and stored in the analysis result table (506). The structure of the analysis result table is shown in FIG. The user ID (901) uses the user ID (802) in the reference history table, and the category (902) uses the advertisement table (504). Then, the reference count (903) stores how many times the subscriber corresponding to the user ID (901) has referred to the type of advertisement shown in the category (902). The analysis result table (506) is determined to be closer to the user's preference in descending order of the number of references (903). The analysis function for the advertiser is a function for periodically analyzing the reference history table (505) about once a month and providing a result to the advertiser. In this embodiment, the advertisement-specific reference count, the category-specific reference count, and the region-specific reference count are obtained. The number of referrals by advertisement obtains how many times the advertisement provided by each advertiser is referred to. The number of reference times by category is determined for how many times an advertisement of which category is referred to for all advertisements. The number of reference times by area is obtained by determining how many times an advertisement provided by each advertiser is referred to in which area. Of these, the reference count by region uses the address information of the subscriber management table (507), and is an analysis result that is characteristic of the present invention. FIG. 15 is an explanatory diagram showing the flow of the reference history update process. In order to analyze a subscriber's preference, it is necessary to store as a history which advertisement the subscriber referred to. In the preference analysis module, every time it is called from the personal advertisement selection module (501), it is automatically stored in the reference history table (505). First, a reference history table is acquired using the advertisement ID and user ID as keys (1501), and the reference history is updated and registered by adding 1 to the reference count (1502).

Next, an advertisement table (504) is acquired (1503) using the advertisement ID of the referenced advertisement as a key, and the category of the advertisement table is examined. Then, an analysis result table is acquired using the user ID and category as keys (1504), and 1 is added to the reference count, and the analysis result table is updated and registered (1505). If the history is simply taken, the processing is completed so far. After this, every time it is called from the personal advertisement selection module (501), it is inefficient to acquire the data with the maximum number of references in the analysis result table (506), so this processing is taken out when the history is updated. . One analysis result is acquired using the user ID as a key (1506), and the analysis result table having the maximum number of references at that time is held (1508). Then, the next analysis result table is acquired (1509), and the process is repeated until there is no analysis result (1507). The analysis result table with the maximum number of references thus obtained is separately stored (1510) as a value to be returned to the personal advertisement selection module.

FIG. 16 is a flowchart of the preference analysis result output process for the advertiser in the preference analysis module (502). The advertiser preference analysis is a process of analyzing in the background on a monthly or yearly basis, rather than a process executed as needed by a subscriber's operation, like the reference history update process of FIG. Therefore, there is a possibility that a complicated analysis combining a plurality of conditions may be performed depending on an advertiser's request. Here, simply, a process for obtaining the total number of times of reference for each of various conditions is performed. First, a reference history table is acquired (1601), and the total number of references is counted for each advertisement ID (1603). Then, the advertisement table is acquired using the advertisement ID as a key (1604), the advertisement category is examined, and the reference count is counted for each category (1605). Next, the subscriber management table is acquired using the user ID as a key (1606), the number of references is counted for each user address (1607), and the number of references is counted for each user age (1608). The next reference history table is acquired (1609) and repeated until there is no reference history (1602). After that, sorting (1610) is performed according to the number of times of reference, and the respective outputs (1611 to 1614) are provided to the advertiser. The point here is that it is possible to obtain a subscriber management table (1606) and to perform a detailed analysis including personal information such as a reference distribution by region and a distribution by age.

(1707)。   FIG. 17 is an output example of the analysis result shown in FIG. The preference analysis result (1701) classified by advertisement obtained by the processing of (1611) provides individual information for each advertiser (1702). As analysis result information, the total number of reference times is output for each advertisement registered by the advertiser (1703). Further, the total number of reference times for each address by (1613) and the total number of reference times for each year by (1614) are output (1704) (1705). In addition, the category-specific preference analysis result (1706) output in (1612) is considered to be information that is effective for the advertiser as shown in the figure (1707).

(1810)。   The discount fee notification module (503) is a module for a service that reflects the number of advertisement references as a discount on the usage fee of the subscriber. In the subscriber management system, the usage fee is calculated (510) by referring to the contract contents in the subscriber management table (507). Normally, this usage fee is charged to the subscriber (508) as it is, but the discount fee notification module (503) calculates the discount fee calculated based on the reference history table (505) to the subscriber management system. This is a process of giving a notice and discounting the usage fee (511). FIG. 18 is an explanatory diagram showing the flow of discount fee notification processing. In this process, the total advertisement reference count of the subscriber is obtained based on the reference history table, and this is reflected in the form of a discount on the usage fee. In the processing of (1801) to (1804), the reference history table is searched based on the user ID of the subscriber, and the total number of advertisement references is obtained. Then, a discount fee is calculated (1805) based on the total number of advertisement references. The actual discount rate is set according to the number of subscribers of the broadcasting station introducing this system and the audience rating, and can be set freely by the broadcasting station. Next, the subscriber management system is inquired about the subscription fee of the subscriber (1806), and the amount of the subscription fee is acquired. This is because if the advertisement viewing frequency is directly used as a discount fee, the subscription fee may become free depending on the advertisement reference frequency, so the upper limit of the discount fee is checked in (1807). If the discount fee exceeds the upper limit, the discount fee is set to the upper limit (1808). The determined discount rate is notified to the subscriber management system (1809), and this process is performed for all subscribers (1810).

図ではユーザIDがuser001である加入者が、banner001(1903)、banner002(1904)、banner003(1905)を参照した履歴が保持されている。 (1805)。   The overall operation of the discount charge notification module (503) will be described with reference to FIG. The discount charge notification module (1901) is processed based on the reference history table (1902) as a periodic process such as once a month. In the figure, a history with reference to banner001 (1903), banner002 (1904), and banner003 (1905) is held by a subscriber whose user ID is user001. When processing is performed in accordance with the flow of FIG. 18, first, the total number of times of reference of all advertisements is obtained for a subscriber whose user ID is user001 (1801-1804). In the example, 20 + 16 + 34 = 70 times (1906). The discount fee is calculated based on the total number of times (1907). The calculation method is determined as the service content of each broadcasting station. Here, it is assumed that the service is “10% discount every time the advertisement is referred to 20 times. The discount upper limit is 800 yen”. Then, the price is 70 times / 20 times = 3.5, and the fraction is rounded down to 3 discounts. Here, the subscriber management system is inquired about a subscription fee before discount (1805).

In the subscriber management system, the subscription fee is calculated with reference to the contract contents in the subscriber management table (1909). In this example, the normal contract is set to 3000 yen (1910), and the value is returned to the discount charge notification module. Since it is calculated that the discount is 3 discounts, the discount fee is 3 × (3000 × 0.1), which is 900 yen (1907). Subsequently, when the discount limit is checked (1908), this value exceeds the upper limit, so the discount rate is determined to be 800 yen according to the processing of (1807) and (1808). This discount amount is notified to the subscription fee discount processing of the subscriber management system (1809). As described above, the subscriber management system has processing related to the addition of fees for Internet billing and the like. Is already provided. Therefore, the notification from this system is processed not as “800 yen discount” but as “−800 yen addition”. Then, a discounted fee of 2200 yen (1911) is charged to the subscriber (1912).
