Description
以下、本発明の排気浄化用触媒装置の燃料供給装置を自動車に搭載されたディーゼルエンジン(以下、単にエンジンと記載する。)に具体化した第1の実施形態について図1〜図5に従って説明する。図1は排気浄化用触媒装置を備えたディーゼルエンジン及びその周辺構成を示す模式図、図2(a),(b)は各気筒の吸気行程、圧縮行程、膨張行程、排気行程の関係を示す図である。
次に前記のように構成された装置の作用を説明する。
(1)エンジン11は、エキゾーストマニホールド25L,25Rが接続された排気通路28L,28Rの途中に排気浄化用触媒装置36を備え、排気浄化用触媒装置36の触媒活性化用の燃料を添加供給する添加ノズル44が、添加制御手段(ECU46)によって制御される。ECU46は、エンジン11の運転中、エキゾーストマニホールド25L,25R内から排気通路28L,28Rへの排気流出がない無排気行程中を除いた期間に、添加ノズル44からの燃料添加を行うように添加ノズル44を制御する。従って、エキゾーストマニホールド25L,25Rに添加された排気浄化用触媒装置36の燃料が、排気流に乗らずに排気系の壁面に付着するのを回避することができる。
(第2の実施形態)
次に第2の実施形態を図6に従って説明する。この実施形態は、添加ノズル44に燃料を供給する燃料供給手段が、添加ノズル44に供給される燃料の圧力をエンジン11に供給される燃料の圧力以上となるように変更可能に構成されている点が前記第1の実施形態と大きく異なっている。また、添加制御手段(ECU46)は、添加ノズル44に供給される燃料の圧力がエンジン11に供給される燃料の圧力と同じでは、エンジン11の1サイクルの間に供給すべき量の燃料を燃料添加期間内で添加ノズル44から添加できないと判断した場合、燃料供給手段の燃料供給圧力を高めるように制御する点も第1の実施形態と大きく異なっている。その他の構成は第1の実施形態と同じであり、第1の実施形態と同様の部分については同一符号を付してその詳細な説明を省略する。図6は燃料供給手段を示す部分模式図である。
(7)燃料供給手段は、添加ノズル44に供給される燃料の圧力をエンジン11に供給される燃料の圧力以上となるように変更可能に構成されている。そして、ECU46は、添加ノズル44に供給される燃料の圧力がエンジン11に供給される燃料の圧力と同じでは、エンジン11の1サイクルの間に供給すべき量の燃料を燃料添加期間内で添加ノズル44から添加できないと判断した場合、燃料供給手段の燃料供給圧力を高めるように制御する。従って、エンジン11に供給される燃料の圧力が低い場合でも、燃料供給手段の燃料供給圧力が高められ、燃料添加期間内に所定量の燃料の添加が可能になる。
○ 添加ノズル44からの燃料添加は無排気行程中を除いた期間であればよく、燃料の添加開始時期は、添加ノズル44と対応する気筒(この実施形態では第7気筒#7及び第8気筒#8)の排気行程開始時期と同期させなくてもよい。従って、前記実施形態では燃料の添加開始時期を気筒の排気行程開始時期と同期させるため、左バンクと右バンクでは燃料添加期間が異なる長さに分割されていたが、左右両バンクにおける燃料添加期間が同じ分割状態になるように、例えば、前半の燃料の燃料添加期間を450°のクランク角間になるように添加開始時期を設定してもよい。この場合、左右両添加ノズル44の添加制御を同じに行うことができ、燃料添加期間が異なる場合に比較して制御が容易になる。
○ 排気浄化用触媒装置36内にPM除去用のフィルタ39を設けて排気浄化用触媒装置36でNOx還元処理とPM除去処理の両方を行う構成に代えて、排気浄化用触媒装置36はNOx還元処理専用としてPM除去処理用に別のフィルタ装置を設けてもよい。
○ 内燃機関はディーゼルエンジンに限らず、ガソリンエンジンに適用してもよい。また、自動車のエンジンに限らず、発電装置用エンジン等の定置式のエンジンに適用してもよい。
(1)前記内燃機関は、V型エンジンであり、各バンクに前記添加ノズルがそれぞれ設けられるとともに、各排気マニホールドに対応して前記排気浄化用触媒装置が設けられている。
Claims (3)
- 複数の気筒を備え、エキゾーストマニホールドに対して複数の気筒の排気ポートが接続されるとともに、前記エキゾーストマニホールドに接続された排気通路の途中に排気浄化用触媒装置を備え、前記エキゾーストマニホールドに前記排気浄化用触媒装置の触媒活性化用の燃料を添加する添加ノズルが設けられた内燃機関における排気浄化用触媒装置の燃料供給装置であって、
前記内燃機関は、運転中に、いずれの気筒からも排気されず前記エキゾーストマニホールド内から前記排気通路への排気流出がない無排気行程が存在し、前記添加ノズルによる前記燃料の添加を制御する添加制御手段は、前記内燃機関の1サイクルの間において前記添加ノズルが設けられた側の前記エキゾーストマニホールドに対応する気筒の無排気行程中を除いた期間であって前記無排気行程を跨って分割された期間を、前記添加ノズルからの燃料添加を行うことができる燃料添加期間として設定し、該燃料添加期間における燃料添加量を演算する前記添加ノズルを制御する内燃機関における排気浄化用触媒装置の燃料供給装置。 - 前記燃料添加期間は、前記無排気行程を跨って2分割されており、前記添加制御手段は、前記無排気行程より後半に添加される燃料量がNOx還元のための適正雰囲気となる量に満たない場合は、その量を次回の燃料添加時期に持ち越して添加するように前記添加ノズルを制御する請求項1に記載の内燃機関における排気浄化用触媒装置の燃料供給装置。
- 前記添加ノズルに前記燃料を供給する燃料供給手段は、前記添加ノズルに供給される燃料の圧力を内燃機関に供給される燃料の圧力以上となるように変更可能に構成されており、前記添加制御手段は、前記添加ノズルに供給される燃料の圧力が内燃機関に供給される燃料の圧力と同じでは、内燃機関の1サイクルの間に供給すべき量の前記燃料を前記燃料添加期間内で前記添加ノズルから添加できないと判断した場合、前記燃料供給手段の燃料供給圧力を高めるように制御する請求項1に記載の内燃機関における排気浄化用触媒装置の燃料供給装置。
