BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
When heating molten steel in a tundish using a plasma torch, the present invention uses a simple structure, stably forms a plasma arc, and heats molten steel using a plasma torch that can increase heating efficiency. Relates to the device.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Conventionally, slabs are manufactured by continuous casting, in which molten steel is poured from a tundish into a mold, cooled by the mold and sprinkled by water from the support segment, and the molten steel is completely solidified and then pulled out with a pinch roll. Is done.
In this continuous casting, after casting about half of the molten steel in the ladle (after the middle period), the temperature of the molten steel is 0.1 to 0.5 ° C. due to heat radiation from the ladle as the casting time elapses. The temperature of the molten steel poured into the tundish is lower than the target temperature, causing the clogging of the immersion nozzle during casting, causing problems such as interruption of the casting operation and deterioration of slab quality due to fluctuations in the molten metal surface in the mold. Has occurred.
As a countermeasure against this, as described in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 61-229451, a flow channel of molten steel is formed inside the tundish, and an induction heating device is disposed so as to surround the flow channel, and this induction is performed. By energizing the heating device, the molten steel is heated by Joule heat to ensure a temperature drop due to heat dissipation.
Furthermore, as described in Japanese Patent Publication No. 4-52599, a heating chamber with a single plasma torch is provided in a part of the tundish lid, and the lower side of the heating chamber is immersed in molten steel. Then, the electrode provided outside the heating chamber is immersed in the molten steel, the plasma torch and the electrode in the heating chamber are energized, and the plasma arc is applied from the plasma torch to the surface of the molten steel. The molten steel is heated.
[0003]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, in the method for heating molten steel described in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 61-229451, since the flow path of molten steel is formed inside the tundish, the structure of the tundish becomes complicated, and the refractory of the lining refractory of the tundish Construction is difficult and construction cost is high. In addition, since the coil of the induction heating device is arranged so as to surround the flow path of the molten steel, the refractory constituting the flow path is cracked, melted, etc., and the insertion of the metal into the coil occurs. A short circuit accident or the like, which hinders stable use as a heating device.
Furthermore, in the method described in Japanese Patent Publication No. 4-52599, the atmosphere of the heating chamber can be stably maintained, and the plasma arc formed on the surface of the molten steel from the plasma torch can be stabilized. The surface of the molten steel on which the plasma arc is formed is heated for a long time, and the temperature of the molten steel at this portion becomes extremely high, so that the overall heating efficiency of the molten steel is lowered.
Moreover, the molten steel is heated mainly using radiant heat from the heating chamber, and the lower side of the heating chamber made of refractory is immersed in the molten steel to completely partition the upstream and downstream sides of the tundish. The temperature of the heating chamber rises rapidly, and the lining refractory is rapidly melted by radiant heat or plasma arc heat, which shortens the life of the heating chamber.
Moreover, when the life of the heating chamber decreases, there is a problem that the life of the molten steel as a heating device also decreases.
[0004]
The present invention has been made in view of such circumstances, and a plasma torch that can reduce the refractory cost by using a simple structure, increase the heating efficiency, improve the ignition of the plasma arc, and stabilize the plasma arc. It aims at providing the heating apparatus of the used molten steel.
[0005]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The apparatus for heating molten steel using the plasma torch according to the present invention that meets the above-mentioned object includes a heating chamber that covers a tundish and has a plurality of insertion ports for inserting a plasma torch for heating the molten steel, and a pouring port for the molten steel, In the molten steel heating apparatus, the plasma torch, which is inserted above the insertion port and is disposed above the molten steel stored in the tundish, is held up and down freely above the insertion port. ,
The plasma torch has an anode-side torch and a cathode-side torch, and the anode-side torch and the cathode-side torch are attached to an elevating carriage that is raised and lowered by elevating means, and the tip of the plasma torch is moved by the elevating means . Hold upwards from the surface of the molten steel at a position of 100 to 500 mm,
Within the tundish, and between the molten steel pouring port and the plasma torch insertion port, the longitudinal end is attached to the tundish with no gap, and the upper end is in close contact with the lower end of the lid. An upper weir is provided, the lower side of the upper weir is immersed in the molten steel, the outside air entering from the pouring port is shut off, and the oxygen concentration in the heating chamber is 1.0% by mass or less,
The distance between the plasma torch and the upper weir is 250 to 800 mm,
Furthermore, a lower weir is provided on the downstream side of the upper weir, and the position of the upper end of the lower weir is the same as or higher than the position of the lower end of the upper weir.
Thereby, when pouring the molten steel from the long nozzle inserted in the pouring port, the inflow of the slag accompanying the molten steel into the heating chamber and the intrusion of the air entering from the pouring port into the heating chamber are suppressed, and the slag and Ignition failure and plasma arc instability caused by the oxygen concentration in the atmosphere can be prevented.
[0006]
Here, the plasma torch, since an anode side torch and the cathode torch, using a low current can be increased electric resistance, it is possible to improve the heating efficiency of the molten steel due to Joule heat.
[0007]
Furthermore, the than providing Shitaseki downstream of Kamizeki, the flow of molten steel directed downward by Kamizeki, can be molten steel flow rises with the lower weir, the molten steel flow of the rising The flow of molten steel is formed on the surface of the molten steel in the vicinity of the plasma arc, the excessive heating of the molten steel due to the concentration of the plasma arc can be suppressed, and the heating efficiency of the molten steel can be increased. In addition, excessive radiant heat to the refractory constituting the heating chamber can be suppressed to reduce the wear of the refractory, thereby extending the life of the heating device.
