Description
In the present invention, a high friction resistance film is formed with a uniform film thickness on the outer peripheral surface excluding both end support portions and the center support portion of the cylindrical body, and is supported rotatably at both end support portions and the center support portion. The rotational driving force from the driving force source is transmitted and rotated, so that the object to be transported is in contact with the outer peripheral surface and is in close contact with the outer peripheral surface by the frictional resistance of the high frictional resistance coating. The present invention relates to a conveyance drive roller, a recording apparatus including the conveyance drive roller, and a method for manufacturing the conveyance drive roller.
For example, in a recording apparatus such as an ink jet printer, a conveying means for conveying a recording material such as recording paper in a predetermined conveying direction with a predetermined conveying amount with high accuracy is provided on the outer peripheral surface of a cylindrical shaft body. In general, there is provided a conveyance drive roller having a high frictional resistance film formed on the outer peripheral surface by a process such as attaching ceramic powder to the applied paint. The conveyance driving roller is supported by the main body frame of the recording apparatus so as to be rotatable in the conveyance direction, and is rotated by a rotational driving force transmitted by a rotational driving force source such as a motor, thereby rotating the outer periphery due to the frictional resistance of the high frictional resistance film. The recording material in close contact with the surface is conveyed in the rotation direction (see, for example, Patent Document 1). Since the conveyance accuracy of the recording material directly affects the recording image quality of the recording apparatus, extremely high accuracy is required for the conveyance amount and the inclination of the conveyance direction in the conveyance unit of the recording apparatus. For this reason, the shaft body constituting the transport driving roller is generally formed of a material having high rigidity and being difficult to bend.
In such a recording apparatus, it is necessary to dispose a transport driving roller having a length corresponding to the maximum size of the recording material capable of recording (a length sufficiently longer than the lateral width of the maximum size recording material). Although the outer diameter remains the same, the longer the length, the easier it is to bend. For this reason, the amount of bending of the transport drive roller caused by the weight of the transport drive roller or the pressing force when the recording material is brought into close contact with the outer peripheral surface of the transport drive roller increases. Accordingly, in a state where the transport driving roller is rotatably supported only at both ends, a decrease in transport accuracy due to the bending of the transport driving roller becomes a problem. Therefore, in order to solve such a problem, there is provided a recording apparatus configured to rotatably support the transport driving roller in the vicinity of both ends and further support the transport driving roller in the vicinity of the center of the transport driving roller. It is known (see, for example, Patent Document 2). In the vicinity of the center of the transport drive roller, the bend of the transport drive roller is restricted, thereby reducing the transport error caused by the bend of the transport drive roller described above. Reduction can be reduced.
By the way, when the transport driving roller is rotatably supported, if a high frictional resistance film is formed on the rotatably supported portion, a large rotational resistance is generated at the support portion. The load of the driving force source to rotate will become large. Therefore, in general, a high frictional resistance film is not formed in the vicinity of both end portions of the transport driving roller that is rotatably supported. That is, the rotational frictional resistance at the supporting portions near both ends and near the center of the transport driving roller can be reduced by supporting the shaft body with low frictional resistance so as to be rotatable. Therefore, in the case where the conveyance drive roller is rotatably supported in the vicinity of both ends of the conveyance drive roller as described above, a high frictional resistance film is also formed in the vicinity of the center of the conveyance drive roller. It is necessary to provide a part that is not. The transport driving roller having such a central support portion is formed by masking the central support portion with a masking tape or the like in advance so that a high frictional resistance film is not formed on the central support portion in the manufacturing process. It is usual to form a high frictional resistance film on the whole. By forming a high frictional resistance film on the entire outer peripheral surface of the masked shaft body and then removing the masking, it is possible to manufacture a transport drive roller in which the high frictional resistance film is not formed on the central support portion of the shaft body. it can.
Since the high frictional resistance film is not formed on this central support part, the outer diameter is reduced by the film thickness of the high frictional resistance film, so the central support part and the area where the high frictional resistance film is formed A slight level difference corresponding to the film thickness occurs at the boundary portion. For this reason, when a recording material such as recording paper is pressed and brought into close contact with the outer peripheral surface of the conveyance driving roller, the recording material may be slightly deformed by the step portion, thereby causing a conveyance error, a gradient in the conveyance direction, or the like. There is. As an example of a known technique for solving such a problem, a plurality of driven rollers arranged on the outer peripheral surface of the conveying drive roller so as to press the recording material against the outer peripheral surface of the conveying drive roller are arranged on the driven roller. There is a known recording apparatus in which the roller surface is disposed so as to straddle the step portion of the center support portion (the boundary portion between the center support portion and the region where the high frictional resistance film is formed) (see, for example, Patent Document 2). . Accordingly, the recording material is prevented from being pressed into the level difference of the central support portion, and the recording material conveyance error and the inclination in the conveyance direction due to the recording material are prevented.
However, in the manufacturing process of the conveyance drive roller described above, after the high frictional resistance film is formed on the shaft body in the state where the central support part is masked, if the masking is removed, the central support part and the high frictional resistance film are formed. The film pressure at the boundary with the region is slightly thick, and the outer diameter of the high frictional resistance film surface at that part is slightly increased. In other words, the high frictional resistance coating surface at the boundary between the portions masked with masking tape or the like became extremely small (several μm), and the outer diameter of the outer peripheral surface of the transport driving roller was partially increased slightly. In such a state, a high frictional resistance film is formed. The presence of a portion having a slightly larger outer diameter on the outer peripheral surface (high frictional resistance coating surface) of the transport driving roller causes a slight transport error of the recording material, a tilt in the transport direction, and the like. Such a transport error, a tilt in the transport direction, and the like are very slight, and the deterioration of the recording image due to the transport error has hardly been regarded as a problem in the past.
However, in recent years, recording devices such as ink jet printers have been dramatically improved in image quality, and a transport error, a tilt in a transport direction, etc., which have hardly been regarded as problems in the past, are becoming ignorable. For this reason, a transport error, a tilt in the transport direction, and the like caused by a portion where the high frictional resistance coating surface formed in the manufacturing process as described above is extremely small and raised cannot be ignored. Therefore, for example, after forming a high frictional resistance film, a solution such as scraping and flattening the raised portion can be considered. However, there is a need for a new manufacturing process, a processing device, a tool, and the like for scraping the outer peripheral surface of the slightly raised portion of the transport driving roller, and the manufacturing cost of the transport driving roller is significantly increased accordingly. Occurs. Also, the process of scraping off the raised portion is a manual operation, so the work efficiency is poor, and the high frictional resistance film is accidentally damaged, which causes a decrease in the conveyance accuracy by the conveyance drive roller. There is a risk that it will end.
The present invention has been made in view of such a situation, and the problem is that a conveyance drive roller having a central support portion on which a high frictional resistance film is not formed is used as an outer periphery on which a high frictional resistance film is formed. It is an object of the present invention to provide a method for manufacturing a transport drive roller that can be easily manufactured without increasing the number of manufacturing steps in a state where the outer diameter of the surface is made uniform with high accuracy.
In order to achieve the above object, according to a first aspect of the present invention, a high frictional resistance film is formed with a uniform film thickness on the outer peripheral surface excluding both end support portions and the center support portion of a cylindrical body, The support body and the central support part are rotatably supported, and the rotational driving force from the driving force source is transmitted to rotate, thereby rotating the transported body in close contact with the outer peripheral surface of the high frictional resistance coating. A method of manufacturing a transport drive roller for transporting to a region, wherein a series of regions including a portion serving as the central support portion and both outer sides of the portion serving as the central support portion are concentrically reduced in diameter with a predetermined outer diameter difference. A shaft body manufacturing process for manufacturing the shaft body having a curved shape, and masking of an outer peripheral surface of a portion to be the central support portion of the shaft body before forming a high frictional resistance film on the outer peripheral surface of the shaft body Masking step and the masking step A high friction resistance film forming step of forming a high friction resistance film with a uniform film thickness on the outer peripheral surface of the shaft body, and a masking removal step of removing masking after the high friction resistance film formation step, This is a method of manufacturing a transport drive roller.
First, a cylindrical shaft body having a shape in which a series of regions including a portion serving as a central support portion and both outer sides of the portion serving as a central support portion are concentrically reduced with a predetermined outer diameter difference is formed on the conveyance drive roller. Manufactured as a shaft serving as a base. Subsequently, before forming the high frictional resistance film on the outer peripheral surface of the shaft body, in order to prevent the high frictional resistance film from being formed on the center support portion, the center of the shaft body is wound by means such as wrapping a masking tape. Mask the outer peripheral surface of the part to be the support part. The shaft body that is the base of the conveyance drive roller has a central support portion because a series of regions including the outer portion of the portion that becomes the central support portion and the portion that becomes the central support portion are concentrically reduced in diameter by a predetermined outer diameter difference. When the outer peripheral surface of the portion is masked, the boundary between the masked portion and the unmasked portion is located in the reduced diameter portion in the vicinity of both outer sides of the portion serving as the central support portion. In this state, after forming the high frictional resistance film on the outer peripheral surface of the shaft body, if the masking is removed, the boundary part between the masked part and the unmasked part (on the central support part side of the high frictional resistance film) The portion where the high frictional resistance coating surface formed at the end of the substrate is extremely small (several μm) is formed in the reduced diameter portion in the vicinity of both outer sides of the central support portion. Will be.
The reduced diameter portion of the shaft body is concentrically reduced with a predetermined outer diameter difference. Therefore, due to the predetermined difference in outer diameter, the outer diameter of the raised portion is made smaller than the outer diameter of the portion where the high frictional resistance film is formed in the non-reduced region. it can. Accordingly, it is possible to prevent the high frictional resistance film from being formed in a state where the outer diameter of the outer peripheral surface of the transport driving roller is slightly increased in the masked portion. In addition, by reducing the diameter of the portion serving as the center support portion concentrically with the shaft body, it is possible to prevent the conveyance drive roller from rotating eccentrically when the conveyance drive roller is rotatably supported.
Therefore, according to the manufacturing method of the conveyance drive roller described in the first aspect of the present invention, the conveyance drive roller having the central support portion on which the high frictional resistance film is not formed is formed with the high frictional resistance film. In the state in which the outer diameter of the outer peripheral surface is made uniform with high accuracy, it is possible to obtain an effect that it can be easily manufactured without increasing the manufacturing process.
The predetermined outer diameter difference may be an outer diameter difference that is larger than the height of the portion where the high frictional resistance coating surface is extremely small (about several μm) and is in a raised state. It is preferable to provide a sufficiently large outer diameter difference in consideration of height variation and the like.
In a second aspect of the present invention, a high frictional resistance film is formed with a uniform film thickness on the outer peripheral surface excluding both end support portions and the center support portion of the cylindrical body, and the both end support portions and the center support portion are formed. In order to convey the object to be conveyed that is in close contact with the outer peripheral surface of the high frictional resistance coating by rotating and receiving the rotational driving force transmitted by the driving force source in the rotational direction. A method of manufacturing a roller, wherein the shaft body having a shape having two reduced-diameter portions that are substantially concentric and have a predetermined outer diameter difference in the vicinity of both outer sides of the portion that becomes the central support portion. A shaft body manufacturing process to be manufactured, and a region sandwiched between two reduced diameter portions including a portion to be the central support portion of the shaft body before forming a high frictional resistance coating on the outer peripheral surface of the shaft body. Masking process for masking the outer peripheral surface, and after the masking process A high friction resistance film forming step of forming a high friction resistance film with a uniform film thickness on the outer peripheral surface of the shaft body, and a masking removal step of removing masking after the high friction resistance film formation step. This is a method for manufacturing a transport drive roller.
First, a shaft serving as a base for a transport drive roller is formed of a shaft body having two reduced-diameter portions whose diameters are concentrically reduced by a predetermined outer diameter difference between both outer sides of a portion that becomes a central support portion. Manufactured as a body. Subsequently, before forming the high frictional resistance film on the outer peripheral surface of the shaft body, in order to prevent the high frictional resistance film from being formed on the center support portion, the center of the shaft body is wound by means such as wrapping a masking tape. Masking is performed on the outer peripheral surface of the region sandwiched between the two reduced-diameter portions including the support portion. As a result, the boundary portions between the masked portion and the unmasked portion when masked are located at the two reduced diameter portions, respectively. In this state, after forming the high frictional resistance film on the outer peripheral surface of the shaft body, if the masking is removed, the boundary part between the masked part and the unmasked part (on the central support part side of the high frictional resistance film) The portion where the high frictional resistance coating surface formed on the end portion of (2) is extremely small (about several μm) is formed in two reduced diameter portions.
The two reduced diameter portions are reduced substantially concentrically with a predetermined outer diameter difference. Therefore, due to the predetermined difference in outer diameter, the outer diameter of the raised portion is made smaller than the outer diameter of the portion where the high frictional resistance film is formed in the non-reduced region. it can. Accordingly, it is possible to prevent the high frictional resistance film from being formed in a state where the outer diameter of the outer peripheral surface of the transport driving roller is partially increased in the masked portion. In addition, since the diameter of the portion that becomes the central support portion is not reduced, and the vicinity of both outer sides of the portion that becomes the central support portion is reduced in diameter, there is no possibility that the central support portion is eccentric with respect to the rotation shaft of the shaft body. Furthermore, since some eccentricity is allowed to occur in the diameter-reduced portion, it is easy to form the diameter-reduced portion in the shaft manufacturing process.
Therefore, according to the method for manufacturing the conveyance drive roller described in the second aspect of the present invention, the conveyance drive roller having the central support portion on which the high frictional resistance film is not formed is formed with the high frictional resistance film.
It is preferable to provide a sufficiently large outer diameter difference in consideration of height variations and eccentricity of the reduced diameter portion.
According to a third aspect of the present invention, in the first aspect or the second aspect described above, the masking step includes a step of masking the both end support portions of the shaft body. It is a manufacturing method. In this way, by forming the high frictional resistance film after masking both end support parts, it is also possible to form the both end support parts where the high frictional resistance film is not formed.

Next, a method for manufacturing the
First, a conventional general manufacturing process of the
First, a
As described above, the
Next, the manufacturing process of the
First, a
Subsequently, in order to prevent the high frictional resistance film from being formed on the
Subsequently, the high frictional resistance coating S is uniformly applied to the outer peripheral surface of the region of the
When the masking tape MT is removed, a boundary portion between the masked portion and the unmasked portion (the end portion on the
In this way, the
FIG. 7 shows a second embodiment of the manufacturing process of the
In this embodiment, when manufacturing a cylindrical
In this way, the
