次に、上記のように構成された触媒の劣化度合い取得装置が行う触媒53の劣化度合いの取得の概要について説明する。

以下、このような処理を行う本装置の実際の作動のうち、触媒53の劣化度合いの取得、及び触媒53の劣化判定について、図6に示したフローチャートを参照しながら説明していく。
Claims (2)
- 内燃機関の排気通路に配設された酸素吸蔵機能を有する触媒と、
前記触媒よりも下流の前記排気通路に配設されて前記触媒から流出するガスの空燃比に応じた値を出力する下流側空燃比センサと、
前記触媒よりも上流の前記排気通路に配設されて前記触媒に流入するガスの空燃比に応じた値を出力する上流側空燃比センサと、
を備えた内燃機関に適用され、
前記下流側空燃比センサの出力が理論空燃比よりもリーンな空燃比であることを示す状態から理論空燃比よりもリッチな空燃比であることを示す状態に切換る時点にて前記触媒に流入するガスの空燃比を理論空燃比よりもリッチな空燃比から理論空燃比よりもリーンな所定のリーン空燃比に切換え、前記下流側空燃比センサの出力が理論空燃比よりもリッチな空燃比であることを示す状態から理論空燃比よりもリーンな空燃比であることを示す状態に切換る時点にて前記触媒に流入するガスの空燃比を理論空燃比よりもリーンな空燃比から理論空燃比よりもリッチな所定のリッチ空燃比に切換え、
前記触媒に流入するガスの空燃比の切換後に前記下流側空燃比センサの出力が切換る時点、及び前記上流側空燃比センサの出力を少なくとも利用して、前記触媒が吸蔵し得る酸素の最大量である最大酸素吸蔵量を推定する最大酸素吸蔵量推定手段と、
前記内燃機関に吸入される空気の流量が互いに異なる複数の値の各々である場合においてそれぞれ推定される複数の前記最大酸素吸蔵量と、前記空気の流量の前記複数の値とに基づいて、前記空気の流量の増加に対する前記推定される最大酸素吸蔵量の減少の程度を前記触媒の劣化度合いとして取得する触媒劣化度合い取得手段と、
を備えた内燃機関の触媒の劣化度合い取得装置。 - 請求項1に記載の内燃機関の触媒の劣化度合い取得装置において、
前記触媒劣化度合い取得手段は、
前記内燃機関に吸入される空気の流量が互いに異なる2つの値の各々である場合においてそれぞれ推定される2つの前記最大酸素吸蔵量と、前記空気の流量の前記2つの値とに基づいて、前記空気の流量の増加に対する前記推定される最大酸素吸蔵量の減少勾配を前記触媒の劣化度合いとして取得するように構成された内燃機関の触媒の劣化度合い取得装置。
