[Problems to be solved by the invention]
The present invention relates to an image forming apparatus in which toner is supplied from a toner carrier to an electrostatic latent image portion formed on the image carrier, while the toner remaining on the image carrier is collected on the toner carrier. It is an object to solve the above problems.
[0013]
That is, according to the present invention, when the toner remaining on the surface of the image carrier on which no electrostatic latent image is formed is collected by the toner carrier, paper dust or the like on the surface of the image carrier is collected together with the toner. This prevents the toner from being collected in the developing device, and also when the amount of toner remaining on the surface of the image carrier on which the electrostatic latent image is not formed increases An object is to ensure that the body is sufficiently recovered.
[0014]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In the image forming apparatus according to the present invention, in order to solve the above-described problems, the image carrier and the toner carrier that holds the toner are opposed to each other with a predetermined interval, and the image carrier and the toner carrier are separated from each other. In the development portion facing each other, the image carrier and the toner carrier are moved in the same direction, and an alternating voltage in which a DC voltage and an AC voltage are superimposed is applied between the image carrier and the toner carrier, An image forming apparatus for supplying toner from a toner carrier to a portion of an electrostatic latent image formed on an image carrier, while collecting the toner remaining on the image carrier on the toner carrier, the above toner In relation to the relationship between the potential difference acting in the developing direction for sending toner from the carrier to the image carrier and the amount of toner supplied to the image carrier, the toner supplied to the image carrier as the potential difference increases The amount of And a second region in which the potential difference acting in the developing direction is larger than that in the first region, and the amount of toner supplied to the image carrier gradually increases as the potential difference increases. Set the voltage conditions to be applied between the image carrier and the toner carrier. In the region where the potential difference is smaller than the first region, almost no toner is supplied to the image carrier, and the potential difference in the portion where the electrostatic latent image is not formed on the image carrier is the first potential difference. The potential difference is smaller than the region. .
[0015]
Here, as in the image forming apparatus of the present invention, the toner is supplied from the toner carrier to the portion of the electrostatic latent image formed on the image carrier, while the toner remaining on the image carrier is removed from the toner carrier. When the image carrier and the toner carrier are opposed to each other with a predetermined interval, the paper may be present on the surface of the image carrier even if there is paper dust or the like due to contact with the recording medium in addition to the toner. Paper dust and the like are collected on the toner carrier together with the toner and are prevented from being mixed into the developing device.
[0016]
In addition, when the image carrier and the toner carrier are moved in the same direction at the developing portion where the image carrier and the toner carrier face each other as in the image forming apparatus of the present invention, the image carrier and the toner Compared with the case where the carrier is moved in the opposite direction, the toner remaining on the image carrier is easily collected by the toner carrier.
[0017]
Further, as in the image forming apparatus according to the present invention, the potential difference acting in the developing direction for sending toner from the toner carrier to the image carrier. And the amount of toner supplied to the image carrier, As the potential difference increases, the amount of toner supplied to the image carrier increases rapidly. A first region; From this first area Also The potential difference acting in the development direction is A large area, As the potential difference increases, the amount of toner supplied to the image carrier gradually increases. The voltage condition to be applied between the image carrier and the toner carrier is set so that the second region exists. In this case, the force that collects the toner remaining on the surface of the image carrier on which the electrostatic latent image is not formed on the toner carrier is increased, and the amount of toner remaining on the surface of the image carrier due to paper jam is reduced. Even when the amount of toner increases, the toner is sufficiently collected from the surface of the image carrier to the toner carrier.
[0018]
Here, in the first region where the potential difference acting in the developing direction is small, when the potential difference increases, the amount of toner supplied to the image carrier increases rapidly. In a state smaller than one area, for example, in a portion where an electrostatic latent image is not formed, the force for collecting the toner on the surface of the image carrier to the toner carrier increases, and the toner is transferred from the toner carrier to the image carrier. Even if the toner is supplied, the toner is recovered from the image carrier to the toner carrier, and almost no toner is supplied to the image carrier. When the potential difference acting in the developing direction increases and reaches the first region, the image carrier is reached. The force for supplying the toner from the toner carrier to the image carrier exceeds the force for collecting the toner on the toner carrier to the toner carrier, and the toner corresponding to the potential difference acting in the developing direction is suddenly transferred from the toner carrier to the image carrier. Presumably because so it is supplied to the body.
[0019]
When the potential difference acting in the developing direction further increases and reaches the second region, the normal state is reached, and the amount of toner supplied to the image carrier gradually increases as the potential difference acting in the developing direction increases. It is thought that it will increase. In the portion where the electrostatic latent image that has a potential difference acting in the developing direction smaller than the first region is not formed as described above, the force for collecting the toner on the surface of the image carrier to the toner carrier is strong. Thus, even when the amount of toner remaining on the surface of the image carrier increases, it is considered that the toner is sufficiently recovered from the surface of the image carrier to the toner carrier.
[0020]
In the image forming apparatus according to the present invention, when the gap between the image carrier and the toner carrier is increased when the image carrier and the toner carrier are opposed to each other with a predetermined interval as described above, Since the effect of collecting the remaining toner by the toner carrier is reduced, the gap between the image carrier and the toner carrier is preferably 0.20 mm or less as shown in
[0021]
In addition, in the image forming apparatus according to the present invention, when an alternating voltage in which a DC voltage and an AC voltage are superimposed is applied between the image carrier and the toner carrier as described above, as shown in
[0022]

【The invention's effect】
As described above in detail, in the image forming apparatus according to the present invention, the toner is supplied from the toner carrier to the portion of the electrostatic latent image formed on the image carrier, while the toner remaining on the image carrier is removed. When collecting the toner on the toner carrier, the image carrier and the toner carrier are made to face each other with a predetermined interval, so that there is paper dust or the like due to contact with the recording medium in addition to the toner on the surface of the image carrier. Even if the paper dust or the like is collected on the toner carrier together with the toner and prevented from being mixed into the developing device, the regulation member restricts the amount of toner that the paper dust or the like is held on the toner carrier. There is no longer any charging failure in the toner due to clogging between the toner carrier and mixed paper dust.
[0052]
In the image forming apparatus according to the present invention, the image carrier and the toner carrier are moved in the same direction at the developing portion where the image carrier and the toner carrier face each other. The toner remaining on the image carrier is more easily collected by the toner carrier than when the body is moved in the opposite direction.
[0053]
Further, in the image forming apparatus according to the present invention, the potential difference is increased in the relationship between the potential difference acting in the developing direction for sending toner from the toner carrier to the image carrier and the amount of toner supplied to the image carrier. Accordingly, there are a first region where the amount of toner supplied to the image carrier increases rapidly, and a region where the potential difference acting in the developing direction is larger than the first region. The voltage condition to be applied between the image carrier and the toner carrier is set so that there is a second region where the amount of toner supplied to the body gradually increases. The potential difference in the portion where the electrostatic latent image is not formed on the image carrier is made to be a potential difference in a region smaller than the first region. Therefore, as described above, the force that collects the toner remaining on the surface of the image carrier on which no electrostatic latent image is formed on the toner carrier increases, and the toner remains on the surface of the image carrier due to paper jam or the like. Even when the amount of toner increases, the toner is sufficiently recovered from the surface of the image carrier to the toner carrier.
[0054]
As a result, in the image forming apparatus according to the present invention, when the toner remaining on the surface of the image carrier is collected by the toner carrier without using the cleaning device, paper dust or the like on the surface of the image carrier is removed from the toner. The toner is prevented from being collected together and mixed into the developing device, and even when the amount of toner remaining on the surface of the image carrier increases due to a paper jam or the like, the toner is sufficiently absorbed by the toner carrier. It came to be collected.
[0055]
Further, in the image forming apparatus according to the present invention, when the image carrier and the toner carrier are opposed to each other with a predetermined interval as described above, the gap between the image carrier and the toner carrier is provided. When the alternating voltage obtained by superimposing the DC voltage and the AC voltage is applied between the image carrier and the toner carrier, as shown in
