Description
【0001】

σ=ΔP・r/2 …(2)
【0062】

【0141】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an ink composition suitably used in an ink jet recording method, a recording method and a recorded image using the ink composition, an ink set, and an ink head.
[0002]
[Prior art]
In the ink jet recording method, droplets of an ink composition (hereinafter also simply referred to as “ink”) are ejected and flying using mechanical energy or thermal energy, and the droplets are deposited on a recording material such as paper. This is a method for recording an image.
[0003]
Conventionally, characteristics of inks used in ink jet recording methods (hereinafter also simply referred to as “ink jet inks”) are indicated by physical property values such as surface tension and viscosity. By defining these physical property values, adjustment of the drying property of the ink and improvement of the quality of the formed image are achieved.
[0004]
For example, an ink jet recording method using ink droplets defined by the product of the Weber number including surface tension as a factor and the Reynolds number including viscosity as a factor has been proposed. A high-quality image is realized by setting the product of the Weber number and the Reynolds number within a specific range (see Patent Document 1). Further, an ink jet recording method using an ink having a surface tension within a specific range has been proposed (see Patent Document 2).
[0005]
The surface tension handled by the techniques described in
[0006]
However, it is difficult to sufficiently show the characteristics of ink-jet ink with static surface tension.
[0007]
In an ink jet recording apparatus that records an image using an ink jet recording method, ink is filled in an ink chamber in an ink head, and ink droplets are continuously ejected and ejected from an ejection port provided at the tip of the ink chamber. Then, an image is recorded by being deposited on the recording material. When ink is ejected continuously, ink droplets are ejected at the ejection port, and at the same time, a new surface of the ink, that is, a new meniscus is formed. Therefore, the surface tension of the ink causes a new surface to be formed at the ejection port. When starting, immediately before ejection, at the moment of ejection, at the time of flight, at the moment of landing on the recording material, when it penetrates into the recording material such as paper, it differs. In other words, the surface tension of the ink is such that the surface tension in a slow motion state, such as when a new surface starts to form at the ejection port or penetrates to a recording material such as paper, and the moment when the ink is ejected. It changes every moment between the surface tension in the state of fast movement. Therefore, in order to sufficiently show the characteristics of the ink jet ink, it is necessary to use a dynamic surface tension that is a surface tension in the middle of the liquid surface reaching an equilibrium state.
[0008]
The importance of dynamic surface tension is described in many documents. For example, Schwartz, J evaluates the static and dynamic surface tensions of water-based paints, and dynamic surface tension is an important factor in film formation with water-based paints, reducing the dynamic surface tension. It shows that it is effective for forming a uniform excellent coating film (see Non-Patent Document 2).
[0009]
Medina, SW and Sutovich, MN discuss the importance of dynamic surface tension in high-speed printing, and the static surface tension, which is the surface tension when the liquid surface reaches equilibrium, permeates paper. Although it is effective as an indicator of the properties of ink that is in a slow motion state, as in the case of high-speed printing, it is not effective as an indicator of the properties of ink that is in a fast-moving state as in high-speed printing. is doing. On the other hand, the dynamic surface tension is determined by the relationship between the ink droplets and the recording material, in which the surfactant contained in the ink is newly formed one after another at the discharge port, or on the recording material. This suggests that it is an indicator of the ability to move to the interface. That is, the surfactant lowers the surface tension of the ink by adsorbing to the nascent surface of the ink or the interface between the ink droplet and the recording material, and therefore moves to the nascent surface of the ink or the interface between the ink droplet and the recording material. The higher the ability to perform, the higher the effect of lowering the surface tension of ink in a fast-moving state, and the lower the dynamic surface tension of ink (see Non-Patent Document 3).
[0010]
In addition, an ink composition suitable for an ink jet recording method in which the relationship between dynamic surface tension and viscosity is defined, and a recording method using the ink composition have been proposed. This technique shows that the ink composition can provide good printing characteristics in a range satisfying the condition of [dynamic surface tension (dyne / cm) of lifetime 0 msec] + [viscosity (cP)] = 42 to 49. (See Patent Document 3).

[0012]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, in the technique described in Patent Document 3, the dynamic surface tension is defined using a conditional expression obtained by adding the value of the dynamic surface tension and the value of the viscosity. However, the dynamic surface tension and the viscosity are in units. Are different, that is, the dimensions are different, so the value of the conditional expression itself has no meaning.
[0013]
This technique also shows that surfactants do not contribute to the reduction of dynamic surface tension. However, surfactants are generally known to greatly contribute to the wettability of the ink-jet ink to the inner wall of the ink chamber and the properties on the recording material. It is also important for control. For example, Schwartz, J, in the above-mentioned
[0014]
Further, the dynamic surface tension defined by this technique is only the dynamic surface tension in a particularly fast moving state of 0 msec, and the dynamic surface tension in a slow moving state is not defined. As described above, in the ink jet recording method, the surface tension of the ink changes momentarily between the surface tension in the slow motion state and the surface tension in the fast motion state, and thus sufficiently shows the characteristics of the ink for ink jet. This requires both dynamic surface tension in the fast moving state and dynamic surface tension in the slow moving state.
[0015]
The object of the present invention is to provide excellent ejection stability and high quality when used in an ink jet recording method by defining the relationship between dynamic surface tension in a fast motion state and dynamic surface tension in a slow motion state. It is to provide an ink composition capable of obtaining a recorded image, a recording method and a recorded image using the ink composition, an ink set and an ink head.
[0016]

The colorant is an ink composition, characterized in containing Mukoto carbon black is a pigment having a hydrophilic group.
[0017]
According to the present invention, the dynamic surface tension (σ 10 ) when the bubble frequency is 10 Hz among the dynamic surface tension measured at a measurement temperature of 24 ° C. or more and 26 ° C. or less by the maximum bubble pressure method, and the bubble frequency is The difference d (= σ 10 −σ 1 ) from the dynamic surface tension (σ 1 ) at 1 Hz is within a certain range, and the dynamic surface tension (σ 1 when the bubble frequency is 1 Hz). ) Is designed to be 26.7 mN / m or more and 29.7 mN / m or less. In an ink jet recording apparatus that records an image using an ink jet recording method, when ink composition droplets are continuously ejected, a new ink composition is formed at an ejection port provided at the tip of an ink chamber in the ink head. Since the surface is constantly generated, the ink composition moves quickly, and the influence of the dynamic surface tension at a high frequency of about 10 Hz corresponding to the dynamic surface tension in a fast moving state is large. On the other hand, in the ink chamber, after the ink composition is ejected, the volume of the ink composition that has been ejected and reduced is supplied from the ink tank by capillary action, so that the ink composition moves slowly and moves slowly. The influence of the dynamic surface tension at a low frequency of about 1 Hz corresponding to the dynamic surface tension in is large. That is, when discharging, both the dynamic surface tension at high frequency and the dynamic surface tension at low frequency affect, so in order to stably discharge ink composition droplets, high frequency It is necessary to balance the dynamic surface tension at low frequencies with the dynamic surface tension at low frequencies. In addition, the movement of the ink composition when an ink composition droplet is deposited on a recording material to record an image is fast at the moment when the droplet lands on the recording material, but then gradually slows down, In the case of an absorbent recording material, the ink composition slowly permeates into the recording material. In other words, the dynamic surface tension of the ink composition changes from the dynamic surface tension in the fast motion state to the dynamic surface tension in the slow motion state. When the difference from the target surface tension is large, it takes time until the ink composition is dried on the recording material, and bleeding occurs. Moreover, it penetrates too much and causes a strike through. Therefore, as described above, the difference d (= σ 10 −σ 1 ) between the dynamic surface tension (σ 10 ) at the
Further, since the ink composition further contains a surfactant, the ink composition includes the dynamic surface tension (σ 10 ) at the bubble frequency of 10 Hz and the dynamic surface tension (σ 1 ) at the bubble frequency of 1 Hz. The dynamic surface tension can be easily controlled. The surfactant is a nonionic surfactant that is not easily affected by the coexisting electrolyte, the surfactant represented by the general formula (I), the surfactant represented by the general formula (II), the general formula ( III), the surfactant represented by the general formula (IV), and the surfactant represented by the general formula (V), so that the electrolyte is contained in the ink composition. Regardless of whether or not it is added, the difference d (= σ 10 −σ 1 ) between the dynamic surface tension (σ 10 ) at the bubble frequency of 10 Hz and the dynamic surface tension (σ 1 ) at the bubble frequency of 1 Hz. ) Can be within a certain range.
Further, the surfactant is contained in a critical micelle concentration or more. The surface tension of the solution containing the surfactant decreases with the increase of the surfactant up to the critical micelle concentration, but is almost constant above the critical micelle concentration. Therefore, as described above, by containing the surfactant at a critical micelle concentration or more, the effect of the surfactant is sufficiently exhibited, and the dynamic surface tension (σ at the bubble frequency of 10 Hz controlled by the surfactant is (σ). 10 ) and the dynamic surface tension (σ 1 ) at a bubble frequency of 1 Hz can be set to substantially constant values, so that an ink composition having uniform properties can be obtained.
The medium contains at least diethylene glycol, glycerin, triethylene glycol monobutyl ether and water. Since the medium contains water, it is possible to suppress bleeding on the absorbent recording material and improve the drying property. Further, since the medium contains triethylene glycol monobutyl ether, which is a glycol ether having a low vapor pressure, and diethylene glycol and glycerin, which are polyhydric alcohols, a wetting effect can be obtained and the discharge stability can be improved.
The color material includes a pigment having a hydrophilic group. As a result, a recorded image having excellent light resistance and water resistance can be obtained. Moreover, since the pigment has a hydrophilic group, it can be stably dispersed in the ink composition containing water. Therefore, since the occurrence of clogging can be suppressed, an ink composition capable of obtaining a recorded image having excellent light resistance and water resistance without impairing ejection stability can be obtained. Furthermore, since carbon black is included, an ink composition capable of realizing a recorded image having excellent black color developability can be obtained.
[0018]
In the present invention, the dynamic surface tension (σ 10 ) when the bubble frequency is 10 Hz is 20 to 70 mN / m.
[0019]
According to the present invention, the dynamic surface tension (σ 10 ) when the bubble frequency is 10 Hz is 20 mN / m or more and 70 mN / m or less. When sigma 1 0 is less than 20 mN / m, because too high permeability to absorbent recording medium, the ink composition spreads around the impact point when attached to absorbent recording medium on, The outline of the formed recorded image becomes unclear. The sigma 1 0 is more than 70 mN / m, because the permeability too low for absorption of the recording material, the drying property in the absorption of the recording material on the decrease. Further, the wettability between the ink composition and the inner wall of the ink chamber is deteriorated, the supply of the ink composition to the ink chamber is delayed, and the ink chamber is hardly filled with the ink composition. Drops cannot be ejected. In addition, it is difficult to form a new surface of the ink composition in a desired shape at the discharge port provided at the tip of the ink chamber, that is, to control the meniscus, so that the ink composition droplets can be continuously formed at high speed. Cannot be discharged. Therefore, as described above, the dynamic surface tension (σ 10 ) when the bubble frequency is 10 Hz is set to 20 mN / m to 70 mN / m, and the difference d between σ 10 and σ 1 (= σ 10 −σ 1 ) is designed to be within a certain range, and when used in an ink jet recording method, it has excellent ejection stability and suppresses bleeding on a recording material, thereby obtaining a high-quality recorded image. [0060]
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The ink composition according to the first embodiment of the present invention contains at least a colorant and a medium, and includes a bubble frequency of dynamic surface tension measured at a measurement temperature of 24 ° C. or more and 26 ° C. or less by a maximum bubble pressure method. The difference d (= σ 10 −σ 1 ) between the dynamic surface tension (σ 10 ) when the frequency is 10 Hz and the dynamic surface tension (σ 1 ) when the bubble frequency is 1 Hz is the following formula (1 ) Is satisfied.
0 mN / m ≦ d ≦ 7 mN / m (1)
[0061]
The maximum bubble pressure method, which is a method for measuring dynamic surface tension, will be described.
The maximum bubble pressure method inserts a thin tube into the liquid and creates a bubble from the tip of the thin tube to form an interface between the liquid and the gas in the liquid. That is, the pressure difference (ΔP) is measured when the bubble radius becomes equal to the radius (r) of the narrow tube, and the surface tension (σ) is obtained from the measured value. The surface tension (σ) is obtained from the following formula (2).
σ = ΔP · r / 2 (2)
[0062]
By changing the bubble frequency, which is the number of bubbles generated per unit time, the dynamic surface tension from the slow motion state to the fast motion state can be obtained. By determining the dynamic surface tension from the slow motion state to the fast motion state, changes in the dynamic properties of the liquid can be evaluated.
[0063]
The ink composition of the present embodiment is used in a recording method for recording an image by adhering the ink composition onto a recording material, for example, an inkjet recording method or a recording method using a writing instrument such as a pen. By using the ink composition of the present embodiment, it is possible to stably provide a high-quality recorded image.
[0064]
Among the recording methods described above, the ink composition of the present embodiment is suitably used for the ink jet recording method. In the ink jet recording method, a pressure is applied to an ink composition to eject droplets of the ink composition, and an image is recorded by depositing the droplets on a recording material. By using the ink composition of the present embodiment in the ink jet recording method, stable ejection can be achieved and a high-quality recorded image can be stably provided.
[0065]
[0066]
As described above, the ink composition of the present embodiment has the dynamic surface tension when the bubble frequency is 10 Hz among the dynamic surface tensions measured at the measurement temperature of 24 ° C. or more and 26 ° C. or less by the maximum bubble pressure method. The difference d (= σ 10 −σ 1 ) between (σ 10 ) and the dynamic surface tension (σ 1 ) when the bubble frequency is 1 Hz satisfies the above formula (1), that is, a high frequency of 10 Hz. Designed so that the difference between the dynamic surface tension at 1 and the dynamic surface tension at a low frequency of 1 Hz is within a certain range, so that it is excellent in ejection stability when used in an ink jet recording method, An ink composition that can suppress bleeding on a recording material and obtain a high-quality recorded image can be obtained.
[0067]
The reasons for limiting the design range of the ink composition of the present embodiment will be described below.
[0068]
When the difference d (= σ 10 −σ 1 ) between σ 10 and σ 1 exceeds 7 mN / m, the balance between the dynamic surface tension at the high frequency and the dynamic surface tension at the low frequency becomes poor and stable. As a result, the droplets cannot be ejected. Further, since drying takes time on the recording material and bleeding occurs, the image quality is degraded. Therefore, it was set to 7 mN / m or less.
[0069]
When the difference d (= σ 10 −σ 1 ) between σ 10 and σ 1 is less than 0 mN / m, the dynamic surface tension at a low frequency increases, and the ink composition wets with respect to the members constituting the ink head. And the ink chamber becomes difficult to fill with the ink composition. Therefore, it was set to 0 mN / m or more.
[0070]
The dynamic surface tension (σ 10 ) at the bubble frequency of 10 Hz and the dynamic surface tension (σ 1 ) at the bubble frequency of 1 Hz are preferably 20 mN / m or more and 70 mN / m or less, more preferably 20 mN / m. m to 50 mN / m.
[0071]
When σ 10 and σ 1 are less than 20 mN / m, the permeability to the absorbent recording material becomes too high, so that when the ink composition adheres to the absorbent recording material, the ink composition moves from the landing point to the periphery. It spreads out and the outline of the formed recorded image becomes unclear. On the other hand, when σ 10 and σ 1 exceed 70 mN / m, the permeability to the absorbent recording material becomes too low, so that the drying property on the absorbent recording material is lowered. Therefore, it is set to 20 mN / m or more and 70 mN / m or less.
[0072]
The viscosity of the ink composition of the present embodiment is preferably 20 mPa · s or less, more preferably 15 mPa · s or less at 25 ° C. When the viscosity at 25 ° C. of the ink composition exceeds 20 mPa · s, the ink composition droplets cannot be stably ejected when used in the ink jet recording method. Therefore, it was set to 20 mPa · s or less.
[0073]
As the medium, water or an organic solvent is used.
The medium preferably contains water. Accordingly, it is possible to suppress bleeding on the absorbent recording material and improve the drying property.
[0074]
The water content in the ink composition is preferably 30% by weight or more and 95% by weight or less, and more preferably 30% by weight or more and 85% by weight or less. If the water content is less than 30% by weight, the content of the organic solvent in the ink composition is excessively increased. Therefore, an additive that dissolves or disperses in water should be stably present in the ink composition. Becomes difficult. In addition, the viscosity is remarkably increased and may deviate from the proper viscosity as the ink composition. If the water content exceeds 95% by weight, the content of the organic solvent becomes too small, so that the wettability of the ink composition cannot be maintained. Therefore, the content is set to 30% by weight or more and 95% by weight or less.
[0075]
Specific examples of the organic solvent include amides such as dimethylformamide and dimethylacetamide, polyethylene glycol, polypropylene glycol, ethylene glycol, diethylene glycol, thiodiglycol, propylene glycol, triethylene glycol, 1,5-pentanediol, 1 Polyhydric alcohols such as 1,4-butanediol, 1,2-hexanediol, 1,3-propanediol, glycerin and 1,2,6-hexanetriol, ethylene glycol monomethyl ether, ethylene glycol monobutyl ether, diethylene glycol monomethyl ether Diethylene glycol monoethyl ether, triethylene glycol monobutyl ether, propylene glycol monoethyl ether, Ethers of polyhydric alcohols such as glycol ethers such as raethylene glycol monomethyl ether and ethylene glycol monophenyl ether, sulfur-containing compounds such as sulfolane and dimethyl sulfoxide, nitrogen such as 2-pyrrolidone, N-methylpyrrolidone and ε-caprolactam Examples of the organic solvent include, but are not limited to, an oxygen-containing compound such as γ-butyrolactone and a polyfunctional compound such as dimethylaminoethanol, diethylaminoethanol, triethanolamine, and morpholine. One of these organic solvents may be used alone, or two or more thereof may be mixed and used.
[0076]
Among the organic solvents described above, glycol ethers and polyhydric alcohols have a low vapor pressure, and can be incorporated into the ink composition to obtain a wetting effect and improve ejection stability. Preferably contains at least one of glycol ethers and polyhydric alcohols. Among glycol ethers and polyhydric alcohols, glycol ethers such as diethylene glycol monobutyl ether, propylene glycol monobutyl ether, triethylene glycol monobutyl ether or tetraethylene glycol monobutyl ether, or glycerin as polyhydric alcohols, 1,2- Hexanediol or 1,5-pentanediol has a vapor pressure at 25 ° C. of 0.05 mmHg or less and is excellent in the wetting effect, so that these are more preferably used as a medium.
[0077]
The content of the organic solvent in the ink composition is preferably 3% by weight or more and 70% by weight or less, and more preferably 3% by weight or more and 50% by weight or less. When the content of the organic solvent is less than 3% by weight, the ink composition is quickly dried and it is difficult to maintain wettability. When the content of the organic solvent exceeds 70% by weight, a case where the water-soluble or water-dispersible additive cannot be stably present in the ink composition may occur. Depending on the type of organic solvent used, the viscosity increases remarkably and may exceed the appropriate viscosity for the ink composition. Therefore, the content is 3% by weight or more and 70% by weight or less. However, the content of the organic solvent in the ink composition is preferably 3% by weight or more and 40% by weight or less, more preferably 3% by weight or more and 30% or less when the ink composition is mainly composed of water. % By weight or less. When the ink composition contains water as a main component and the content of the organic solvent exceeds 40% by weight, the quality of the recorded image is deteriorated and the ink composition is dried, depending on the type of color material used. A time delay occurs. Therefore, the content is 3% by weight or more and 40% by weight or less.
[0078]
As the coloring material, a dye, a pigment, or a mixture thereof is used. The dyes and pigments may contain them, or may be those to which they are attached.
[0079]
By using a dye for the color material, the occurrence of clogging can be suppressed and the ejection stability can be improved. Further, by using a pigment as the color material, a recorded image having excellent light resistance and water resistance can be obtained.
[0080]
For reproduction of each color in the full-color ink jet recording method, ink compositions of three colors of cyan (abbreviation: C), magenta (abbreviation: M), and yellow (abbreviation: Y) are used. Each color is expressed by mixing the ink compositions. However, since it is difficult to reproduce black in the mixed colors of the three colors, a black (Black; abbreviation: B) ink composition is generally used for black expression. By changing the color of the color material to be contained, an ink composition of cyan, magenta, yellow or black can be obtained.
[0081]
The dye is not particularly limited, but when the ink composition contains water, water-soluble dyes such as acid dyes, direct dyes, reactive dyes, and food colorings are preferably used. Among these, it is preferable to use a material excellent in water resistance, light resistance or safety.
[0082]
Specific examples of the dye include the following dyes, but the dye is not limited thereto. In the following, dyes are indicated by a color index (abbreviation: CI) number.
[0083]
Examples of the dye used in the cyan ink composition include acid dyes such as C.I. I. Acid Blue 7, 9, 29, 45, 92 and 249, a direct dye C.I. I.
[0084]
Examples of the dye used in the magenta ink composition include acid dyes such as C.I. I.
[0085]
Examples of the dye used in the yellow ink composition include acid dyes such as C.I. I.
[0086]
Examples of the dye used in the black ink composition include C.I. I.
[0087]
These dyes are used within a range that dissolves stably at room temperature. Since this range is different for each dye, the content of the dye in the ink composition is not particularly limited, but is preferably 0.1% by weight to 10% by weight.
[0088]
As the pigment, any pigment that can be dispersed in a solution may be used, but a pigment that is excellent in light resistance or safety is preferably used.
[0089]
Specific examples of the pigment include the following pigments, but the pigment is not limited thereto. Hereinafter, the pigment is indicated by a color index (CI) number.
[0090]
Examples of the pigment used in the cyan ink composition include C.I. I.
[0091]
Examples of the pigment used in the magenta ink composition include C.I. I.
[0092]
Examples of the pigment used in the yellow ink composition include C.I. I. Pigment yellow 1, 2, 3, 5, 12, 74, 138, 150 and 180.
[0093]
Examples of the pigment used in the black ink composition include carbon black such as channel black, furnace black, thermal black, and lamp black.
[0094]
Among these pigments, cyan ink compositions include C.I. I. Pigment blue 15: 3 and C.I. I. It is preferable to use at least one pigment of CI Pigment Blue 15: 4. The magenta ink composition includes C.I. I. Pigment red 122, C.I. I. Pigment red 209 and C.I. I. It is preferable to use at least one pigment selected from the group consisting of CI pigment violet 19. The yellow ink composition includes C.I. I. Pigment yellow 74, C.I. I. Pigment yellow 138, C.I. I. Pigment yellow 150 and C.I. I. It is preferable to use at least one pigment selected from the group consisting of CI Pigment Yellow 180. Further, it is preferable to use at least one pigment selected from the aforementioned carbon blacks for the black ink composition. By using these pigments, it is possible to obtain an ink composition capable of realizing a recorded image excellent in cyan, magenta, yellow or black color developability.
[0095]
Also, cyan, magenta and yellow ink compositions using these preferred pigments, that is, C.I. I. Pigment blue 15: 3 and C.I. I. A cyan ink composition using at least one pigment of CI Pigment Blue 15: 4; I. Pigment red 122, C.I. I. Pigment red 209 and C.I. I. Magenta ink composition using at least one pigment selected from the group consisting of CI Pigment Violet 19; I. Pigment yellow 74, C.I. I. Pigment yellow 138, C.I. I. Pigment yellow 150 and C.I. I. Similar to a recorded image formed using a black ink composition by superimposing three types of ink compositions with a yellow ink composition using at least one pigment selected from the group consisting of CI Pigment Yellow 180 A dark black recorded image can be obtained. That is, an ink set including these three types of ink compositions is excellent in color balance. Therefore, an ink set including these three types of ink compositions, or an ink set including four types of ink compositions obtained by adding a black ink composition using carbon black to these three types of ink compositions. By using it, various colors can be expressed, so that a full-color recorded image having excellent color developability can be realized.
[0096]
When the ink composition contains water, the pigment preferably has one or more hydrophilic groups selected from the group consisting of, for example, a carboxyl group, a hydroxyl group, an amino group, and a sulfonic acid group. These hydrophilic groups may be introduced directly by chemically modifying the pigment surface, or may be introduced by coating the pigment surface with a polymer having these hydrophilic groups. These hydrophilic groups may be in the form of a salt.
[0097]
The pigment having a hydrophilic group can be stably dispersed in the ink composition containing water. Therefore, by using a pigment having a hydrophilic group as a coloring material, occurrence of clogging can be suppressed, and a recorded image having excellent light resistance and water resistance can be obtained without impairing ejection stability.
[0098]
These pigments are used within a range in which they are stably dispersed at room temperature. Since this range is different for each pigment, the content of the pigment in the ink composition is not particularly limited, but is preferably 0.1% by weight to 10% by weight.
[0099]
The ink composition of the present embodiment preferably further contains a surfactant. Thereby, the dynamic surface tension of the ink composition including the dynamic surface tension (σ 10 ) at the bubble frequency of 10 Hz and the dynamic surface tension (σ 1 ) at the bubble frequency of 1 Hz can be easily controlled. .
[0100]
As the surfactant, any of a nonionic surfactant, an anionic surfactant, a cationic surfactant, and an amphoteric surfactant may be used. The type of surfactant such as nonionic, anionic and cationic is selected according to the type of electrolyte contained in the ink composition. For example, when the ink composition contains an anionic substance, a nonionic or anionic surfactant is used. These surfactants may be used in combination. At this time, the types of surfactants such as nonionic, anionic and cationic may be the same or different.
[0101]
Among the above-mentioned surfactants, nonionic surfactants are not easily affected by the coexisting electrolyte, and the dynamics at the above-described bubble frequency of 10 Hz are irrespective of whether or not the electrolyte is added to the ink composition. The difference d (= σ 10 −σ 1 ) between the surface tension (σ 10 ) and the dynamic surface tension (σ 1 ) at the bubble frequency of 1 Hz can be set within a certain range. It is preferable to use it as an agent.
[0102]

In the general formula (V), p is 12 , q is 8, and r is 4 .
[0115]
The surfactant is preferably contained in the ink composition at a critical micelle concentration or more.
[0116]
Although the critical micelle concentration is different for each surfactant, it is 0.001 at 25 ° C. in any case of a nonionic surfactant, an anionic surfactant, a cationic surfactant and an amphoteric surfactant. It is about 3 to 3% by weight.
[0117]
In addition, the ink composition of the present embodiment preferably contains a binder resin when a pigment is used as the color material. By including the binder resin, it is possible to prevent the pigment from peeling off from the recording material.
[0118]
As the binder resin, for example, one or more selected from the group consisting of a polyester resin, an acrylic resin, a styrene-acrylic copolymer resin, a polyester-acrylic copolymer resin, and the like are used.
[0119]
In addition to the colorant, medium, surfactant, and binder resin, the ink composition of the present embodiment includes various additives such as a fungicide, a pH adjuster, a chelating agent, a rust inhibitor, and an ultraviolet absorber. May be included.
[0120]
As the fungicide, sodium dehydroacetate, sodium benzoate or sodium sorbitanate is preferably used.
[0121]
As the pH adjuster, triethanolamine, sodium hydroxide, sodium carbonate, sodium nitrate or potassium nitrate is preferably used.
[0122]
Among the dynamic surface tensions that contain at least a colorant and a medium and are measured at a measurement temperature of 24 ° C. or higher and 26 ° C. or lower by the maximum bubble pressure method, the dynamic surface tension (σ 10 ) when the bubble frequency is 10 Hz The ink composition in which the difference d (= σ 10 −σ 1 ) from the dynamic surface tension (σ 1 ) when the bubble frequency is 1 Hz satisfies the above formula (1) is 0.5 weight, for example. % To 15% by weight of coloring material, 3% to 70% by weight of organic solvent, 29% to 95% by weight of water, and 0.001% to 5% by weight of surfactant. Can be obtained.
