Description

【0001】

[0001]
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an emoticon input system using a plurality of search methods that can input “emoticons” even from incomplete input by using a plurality of emoticon search methods.
[0002]
[Prior art]
The conventional emoticon input method is to register emoticons as words in the Kana-Kanji conversion dictionary in advance, or register words additionally and convert the hiragana registered as emoticon readings. It was output as a conversion candidate, and the target emoticon was selected to confirm the input.
[0003]
For example, there is disclosed a kana-kanji conversion and image search display system for inserting an image into a sentence by displaying an image together with kanji conversion candidates like kanji without switching between kana-kanji conversion and image search (for example, , See Patent Document 1).
[0004]
[Patent Document 1]
Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 2000-148748
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, the above prior art has the following problems.
[0006]
The first problem is that it is necessary to memorize readings registered in emoticons. The reason is that the emoticon cannot be converted into the target emoticon unless the emoticon reading is completely input. There is a means of giving a reading “Kao” or “Kamomoji” to all emoticons, but in this case, there is a problem that the number of candidates for conversion becomes enormous.
[0007]
The second problem is that an emoticon conversion result is output in an unexpected scene. The reason for this is that if you register an emoticon in the Kana-Kanji conversion dictionary, it will be converted to an emoticon when a word that matches the reading of the emoticon appears in a normal sentence that does not enter the emoticon. It is because it may end up.
[0008]
For methods other than registering words in the Kana-Kanji conversion dictionary, only in the field of software on a personal computer, an emoticon input window is opened separately from the target character input window, and the target emoticon is displayed on the mouse. There are several softwares that insert a designated emoticon into a character input target window by designating with a pointing device.
[0009]
The problem with this technology is that when inputting an emoticon, the input person needs to release his / her hand from the keyboard and move his / her hand to a pointing device such as a mouse. . Further, since it is necessary to open two windows, it is not a practical means for a device with a small screen such as a portable terminal.
[0010]
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION An object of the present invention is to provide an emoticon input system and method using a plurality of search methods that enable emoticons to be input by reading and partially inputting emoticons.
[0011]
Since the emoticon is often added to the end of the sentence, it has a function of automatically adding “emoticon” in accordance with the context of the input person's sentence after inputting the sentence.
[0012]
These functions are assumed to be used in combination with the existing Kana-Kanji conversion method. In that case, there is a feature that it can be used transparently without the need for mode switching.
[0013]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to solve the above-described problems, the present invention is configured so that an arbitrary character string input by the input device 1 is passed to the data processing device 2 in the configuration shown in FIG. A search means is used to search for conversion candidates from the storage device 3 and stored in the candidate temporary storage unit 4. The conversion candidate group stored in the candidate temporary storage unit 4 is output to the output device 5 by the candidate processing unit 24. .
[0014]
When the input is hiragana, the emoticon reading retrieval means 21 retrieves the emoticon corresponding to the input from the emoticon dictionary storage unit 31 and stores it in the candidate temporary storage unit 4. When the input is an emoticon part, the emoticon part searching unit 22 searches for an emoticon including the input emoticon part from the emoticon dictionary storage unit 31 and stores it in the candidate temporary storage unit 4. When the input is a general sentence, it is converted by the Kana-Kanji conversion means 23 with reference to the Kana-Kanji conversion dictionary storage section 32, and the converted text is compared with the emotion tag storage section 33 by the emoticon automatic addition means 25, and the emoticon dictionary An emoticon corresponding to the input character string is searched from the storage unit 31 and transferred to the candidate processing means 24, and the input person can select whether or not to add the emoticon to the end of the inputted sentence.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Next, embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. In the following description, “emoticon” means “a character string that is created using characters represented by standard character codes such as JIS codes, and imitates human faces and actions. "Used as a means of expressing emotions in e-mail and chat".
[0016]
FIG. 1 shows the configuration of the first embodiment of the present invention. Input device 1 such as a keyboard and keypad, a data processing device 2 that operates by program control, a storage device 3 that stores data, a candidate temporary storage unit 4 that temporarily stores the output of the data processing device 2, and a processing result Output device 5 such as a display device or a printing device.
[0017]
The input device 1 has a function of receiving input from an input person and outputting character string data composed of hiragana, alphanumeric characters, and symbols.
[0018]
The storage device 3 includes an emoticon dictionary storage unit 31, a kana-kanji dictionary storage unit 32, and an emotion tag storage unit 33.
[0019]
The emoticon dictionary storage unit 31 uses an emoticon composed of a JIS code character string as an entry word in each record, and is used when the emoticon “reads” and the emotion of the emoticon. “Emotion tag” indicating whether or not. A set of “emotion tags” is determined for each system and is used by the emoticon dictionary storage unit 31 and the emotion tag storage unit 33.
[0020]
The kana-kanji conversion dictionary storage unit 32 is a dictionary for kana-kanji conversion. The existing technology is used for Kana-Kanji conversion, and the format of the Kana-Kanji conversion dictionary storage unit 32 differs depending on the Kana-Kanji conversion technology used.
[0021]
The emotion tag storage unit 33 is a part that stores the correspondence between Japanese words and “emotion tags”. There are Japanese words as headwords, and each word has an emotion tag. The word stored here becomes a trigger for the emoticon automatic adding means 25.
[0022]
The data processing device 2 includes an emoticon reading retrieval unit 21, an emoticon component retrieval unit 22, a kana-kanji conversion unit 23, a candidate processing unit 24, and an automatic emoticon addition unit 25.
[0023]
The emoticon reading search means 21 searches the emoticon dictionary storage unit 31 for “emoticon” corresponding to the input “reading”, and stores the corresponding one in the candidate temporary storage unit 4. To do. At this time, the search is performed by partial match search. That is, it is considered that the input is included in “reading” possessed by the record in the emoticon dictionary storage unit 31.
[0024]
The emoticon component search means 22 searches the emoticon dictionary storage unit 31 for “emoticon” including the input component, and stores the corresponding one in the candidate temporary storage unit 4. To do. At this time, the search is performed by partial match search. That is, it is considered that the input is included in the “emoticon” included in the record of the emoticon dictionary storage unit 31.
[0025]
The kana-kanji conversion means 23 performs a normal kana-kanji conversion process. The hiragana character string is input, converted to a character string mixed with kana-kanji, and the output is stored in the candidate temporary storage unit 4. Since Kana-Kanji conversion technology is well known, it will not be described in detail here.
[0026]
The candidate processing means 24 outputs the candidates stored in the candidate temporary storage unit 4 as a list to the output device 5, accepts selection by the input person, and outputs the confirmed candidates to the output device 5.
[0027]
First, the emoticon automatic adding means 25 searches for words included in the input character string from the words in the record of the emotion tag storage unit 33, and lists “emotional tags” corresponding to the words. Next, “emoticons” having “emotion tags” included in the list are extracted from the emoticon dictionary storage unit 31 and set as candidates of “emoticons” to be automatically added.
[0028]
Next, the overall operation of this embodiment will be described with reference to the flowchart of FIG. First, it is examined whether or not the character string input from the input device 1 is composed only of hiragana (step S01 in FIG. 2).
[0029]
If the input character string is composed only of hiragana characters, the input character string is supplied to the emoticon reading search means 21, and “emoticon” including “reading” is searched from the emoticon dictionary storage unit 31. A thing is stored in the candidate temporary storage part 4 (step S02).
[0030]
Further, the input character string is supplied to the emoticon component search means 22, and “emoticon” including the input character string is searched from the emoticon dictionary storage unit 31, and the corresponding one is stored in the candidate temporary storage unit 4 (step S03).
[0031]
Next, the input character string is supplied to the Kana-Kanji conversion means 23, Kana-Kanji conversion is performed, and the result is stored in the candidate temporary storage unit 4. At that time, information indicating that the output is output from the kana-kanji conversion means is given to the stored candidates (step S04).
[0032]
Up to this point, the candidate temporary storage unit 4 stores the search / conversion results of up to three steps of step S02, step S03, and step S04. At first glance, the number of candidates is enormous and appropriate by the input person. It seems difficult to select a candidate, but in fact it is not. For example, if the input character string is “Niko Niko”, candidates such as “(^ ^)”, “(^-^)”, “(^ o ^)” are stored in the reading search in step S02, and the step There is no candidate in the part search in S03, and “niconico” is stored in the kana-kanji conversion in step S04. If the input character string is “;”, the reading search in step S02 is skipped in step S01, and “(^^;”, “(-_-;)”, “(; _” is skipped in step S03. ;) ”Including a“; ”is stored, and only the unconverted“; ”is stored in step S04. There is no candidate for both S02 and S03, and the conversion result of “It's a good weather today” is stored by Kana-Kanji conversion in step S04 In this way, even if there are three search / conversion steps, the candidate is actually stored. Since there is often only one step, there is almost no problem with a large number of candidates, and the input person feels that an appropriate search method has been automatically selected.
[0033]
The reason why the three steps are performed in series instead of in parallel is to prevent a situation where a candidate intended by the input person is not output. For example, if the input string is "Niko", the input user wants to input "Two" but "(^ ^)", "(^-^)", "(^ o ^ This is because only a candidate such as “)” is displayed.
[0034]
Next, the candidate processing means 24 outputs the candidate stored in the candidate temporary storage part 4 to the output device 5, and receives an input person's selection (step S05).
[0035]
Next, it is determined whether or not the input person has confirmed the candidate (step S06). If the candidate is confirmed, the confirmed character string is output (step S08), the candidate is not confirmed, and the kana-kanji character is output. When re-editing such as a change of the paragraph break position in the conversion candidate is performed, the emoticon candidate is discarded (step S07), and kana-kanji conversion in step S04 is performed again.
[0036]
After the candidate is confirmed, it is determined whether or not the confirmed candidate is the output of the kana-kanji conversion step S04. If it is not the output of the kana-kanji conversion, the process ends. If the confirmed candidate is the output of kana-kanji conversion, the confirmed character string is supplied to the emoticon automatic adding means 25 (step S09).
[0037]
The emoticon automatic adding means 25 first searches for a word included in the emotion tag storage unit 33 from the confirmed character string, and lists emotion tags corresponding to the words included in the confirmed character string. Next, an emoticon having an emotion tag included in the list is searched from the emoticon dictionary storage unit 31 (step S10).
[0038]
The emoticon list searched in step S10 is supplied to the candidate processing means 24 and waits for confirmation by the input person (step S11).
[0039]
If the input user cancels the automatic addition, the process ends. If the input person confirms, the output is output to the output device 5 (steps S12 and S13).
[0040]
Next, a description will be given using specific examples.
[0041]
[Example 1]
This will be described with reference to FIG. As shown in step S01 of the output device 5, a part "T" of the emoticon that the input person wants to input is input, and conversion processing is started. Since all the input is not hiragana, step S02 is skipped. In step S 03, an emoticon including the input character string in the emoticon is retrieved from the emoticon dictionary storage unit 31 and stored in the candidate temporary storage unit 4. In the kana-kanji conversion step S04, only the non-conversion candidate “T” is stored in the candidate temporary storage unit 4. Next, candidates are output to the output device 5 in step S05. When the input is confirmed, the candidate confirmed in step S08 is output to the output device 5. This is the end because the confirmed candidate is not the output of Kana-Kanji conversion.
[0042]
[Example 2]
This will be described with reference to FIG. As shown in step S01 of the output device 5, the input person reads the emoticon that he / she wants to input, inputs “None”, and starts the conversion process. Since all inputs are hiragana, the emoticon including the reading “None” is retrieved from the emoticon dictionary storage unit 31 and stored in the candidate temporary storage unit 4 in step S02. Next, in step S03, a face character including the input character string in the face character is searched from the face character dictionary storage unit 31, but there is no candidate (not shown in the figure). In the kana-kanji conversion step S04, the conversion result of “Naku” (“crying”, “None”, etc.) is stored in the candidate temporary storage unit 4. At that time, information indicating that the candidate to be stored is a candidate for kana-kanji conversion. Next, candidates are output to the output device 5 in step S05. When the input is confirmed, the candidate confirmed in step S08 is output to the output device 5. This is the end because the confirmed candidate is not the output of Kana-Kanji conversion.
[0043]
[Example 3]
This will be described with reference to FIG. The input is the string "I'm sorry". There are 0 candidates for both step S02 and step S03 (not shown in the figure). In step S 04, kana-kanji conversion is performed, and conversion candidates are stored in the candidate temporary storage unit 4. At that time, information indicating that the candidate to be stored is a candidate for kana-kanji conversion. It is assumed that candidates are displayed in step S05, determined without re-editing in step S06 (steps S05 and S06 are omitted in the figure), and step S08 is reached. Since the candidate “delayed sorry” confirmed in step S08 is given information indicating that it is an output of kana-kanji conversion in the candidate temporary storage unit 4, the process proceeds to step S10 after step S09. In the emoticon automatic additional search S10, the emotion tag storage unit 33 is searched for words included in “I'm sorry for the delay”. Here, since “I'm sorry” is found, the emoticon dictionary storage unit 31 is searched using the corresponding emotion tag “TAG_SORRY” as a key. The emoticon with the matching emotion tag is stored in the candidate temporary storage unit 4, the candidate is output to the output device 5 in step S 11, and the candidate “m (._.) M” selected by the input person is “delayed” Added after "I'm sorry".
[0044]
In summary, in FIG. 1, an arbitrary character string input by the input device 1 is passed to the data processing device 2. The data processing device 2 searches for a conversion candidate from the storage device 3 using an appropriate search means corresponding to the input, and stores it in the candidate temporary storage unit 4. The conversion candidate group stored in the candidate temporary storage unit 4 is output to the output device 5 by the candidate processing unit 24.
[0045]
For example, if the input is “Niko Niko”, the emoticon reading search means 21 reads the emoticon “(^^)”, “(^-^)” corresponding to Yomi “Niko Niko” from the emoticon dictionary storage unit 31. ”,“ (^ O ^) ”, etc. are searched and stored in the candidate temporary storage unit 4. If the input is “^-^”, the emoticon part search means 22 uses the emoticon dictionary storage unit 31 to display the emoticon “(^-^)”, “ (^-^; ”,“ D (^-^) ”, etc. are searched and saved in the candidate temporary storage unit 4. Also, in the case of general sentences such as“ Late to wait. I ’m sorry. ” Is converted with reference to the Kana-Kanji conversion dictionary storage unit 32 by the Kana-Kanji conversion unit 23 and operates as a normal Kana-Kanji conversion unit. Then, the converted emoticon 25 adds the converted text to the emotion tag storage unit 33. Whether the emoticon “m (_ _) m” corresponding to the character string “I'm sorry” is retrieved from the emoticon dictionary storage unit 31 and passed to the candidate processing means 24 to add the emoticon to the end of the input sentence. The input person can choose.
[0046]
In this manner, emoticons can be input by a plurality of methods without switching the input mode by the input person.
[0047]
Next, a second embodiment of the present invention will be described. In the present embodiment, the processing time is shortened compared to the first embodiment.
[0048]
FIG. 6 shows the configuration of the second embodiment of the present invention. In the present embodiment, only the emoticon reading search means 21 and the emoticon part search means 22 are executed, and the kana-kanji conversion dictionary storage unit 32 # includes an emotion tag in the first embodiment. And different.
[0049]
In the first embodiment, the emoticon part search is also performed after the emoticon reading search so that the hiragana is used as a part even when the hiragana is used in the emoticon part. In the second embodiment, only the hiragana reading search is performed when the input is only hiragana, and only the emoticon part search is performed when the input includes other than hiragana. I made it.
[0050]
Also, the kana-kanji conversion dictionary storage unit 32 # in FIG. 6 has emotion tag information for each word (independent word). In the existing kana-kanji conversion dictionary storage unit 32, the kana-kanji conversion dictionary storage unit 32 # is obtained by adding an emotion tag to a record of a word to be automatically added. When the Kana-Kanji conversion means 23 performs Kana-Kanji conversion, the emotion tag of the word included in the Kana-Kanji conversion dictionary storage unit 32 # is stored in the candidate temporary storage unit 4 together with the candidates. Therefore, unlike the first embodiment, it is not necessary to search the confirmed character string using the emotion tag storage unit 33 in the emoticon automatic adding means 25, and the emotion tags stored in the candidate temporary storage unit 4 are stored. The emoticon corresponding to the emotion tag may be searched from the emoticon dictionary storage unit 31.
[0051]
Due to the difference between the above two points, the second embodiment can significantly reduce the processing time of the part other than the kana-kanji conversion compared to the first embodiment. Specifically, in the first embodiment, the number of searches is the emoticon reading search, the emoticon part search, the search of the emotion tag storage unit when the emoticon is automatically added, and the emoticon dictionary memory when the emoticon is automatically added. In the second embodiment, either the emoticon reading search or the emoticon part search, and the emoticon dictionary search by automatically adding the emoticon is performed twice. Has decreased.
[0052]
As described above, the present embodiment reduces the processing time as compared with the first embodiment, but the kana-kanji conversion means 23 and the kana-kanji conversion dictionary storage unit 32 # need to be modified.
[0053]
Next, the overall operation of this embodiment will be described with reference to the flowchart of FIG. First, it is checked whether or not the character string input from the input device 1 is composed only of hiragana (step S01 in FIG. 7).
[0054]
If the input character string is composed of only hiragana characters, the input character string is supplied to the emoticon reading search means 21, and “emoticon” including the input character string in “reading” is searched from the emoticon dictionary storage unit 31. What is to be stored is stored in the candidate temporary storage unit 4 (step S02).
[0055]
If the input character string is not composed of only hiragana characters, the input character string is supplied to the emoticon component search means 22, and “emoticon” including the input character string is searched from the emoticon dictionary storage unit 31, and the corresponding character is temporarily stored as a candidate. Store in the storage unit 4 (step S03).
[0056]
Next, the input character string is supplied to the Kana-Kanji conversion means 23, Kana-Kanji conversion is performed, and the result is stored in the candidate temporary storage unit 4. At that time, since an emotion tag is assigned to each word in the Kana-Kanji conversion dictionary unit 32 #, an emotion tag possessed by a word constituting the candidate is also assigned to the candidate and stored in the candidate temporary storage unit 4. When there are a plurality of words with emotion tags added to the words constituting the conversion result, the emotion tags are added to the conversion result as a list (step S04).
[0057]
Next, the candidate processing means 24 outputs the candidate stored in the candidate temporary storage part 4 to the output device 5, and receives an input person's selection (step S05).
[0058]
Next, it is determined whether or not the input person has confirmed the candidate (step S06). When the input is confirmed, the confirmed character string is output (step S08), and the sentence break position in the kana-kanji conversion candidate is not confirmed. When re-editing such as change is performed, the emoticon candidates are discarded (step S07), and kana-kanji conversion in step S04 is performed again.
[0059]
After the candidate is confirmed, it is determined whether an emotion tag is assigned to the confirmed candidate, and if not, the process ends. If the list of emotion tags has been assigned to the confirmed candidate, the list of emotion tags that have been assigned is supplied to the automatic emoticon adding means 25 (step S09).
[0060]
The emoticon automatic adding means 25 searches the emoticon dictionary storage unit 31 for the emoticon having the received emotion tag. When a plurality of emotion tags are received in the list, search is performed for all emotion tags and a list of emoticons is output (step S10 #).
[0061]
The emoticon list output in step S10 # is supplied to the candidate processing means 24 and output to the output device 5 to wait for selection by the input person (step S11).
[0062]
When the input user cancels the automatic addition, the process ends. When the input person confirms, the selected emoticon is output to the output device 5 (steps S12 and S13).
[0063]
Next, an example is shown.
[0064]
[Example 4]
FIG. 8 shows an operation when Example 3 shown in FIG. 5 is processed in this embodiment.
[0065]
The input is the string "I'm sorry". There are no candidates for both step S02 and step S03 (not shown in the figure). Kana-Kanji conversion is performed in step S04. At this time, the emotion tags held by the words constituting the candidates together with the candidates are stored in the candidate temporary storage unit 4. It is assumed that candidates are displayed at step S05, confirmed without re-editing at step S06 (not shown in the figure), and reach step S08. Since the candidate “delayed sorry” confirmed in step S08 is given the emotion tag “TAG_SORRY” in the candidate temporary storage unit 4, the process proceeds to step S10 after step S09. In the emoticon automatic additional search S 10, an emoticon having the emotion tag “TAG_SORRY” is searched from the emoticon dictionary storage unit 31. A list of matching emoticons is supplied to the candidate processing means 24, the candidates are output to the output device 5 in step S11, and the candidate “m (._.) M” selected by the input person in step S13 is Added after "I'm sorry for being late".
[0066]
【The invention's effect】
As described above, the first effect according to the present invention is that an input person can input an emoticon by a plurality of methods without switching modes. The reason for this is that by automatically performing a search using a plurality of methods, suitable candidates can be obtained from any input character string, and the obtained candidates are limited by the input character string. This is because a huge number of candidates are not output despite the fact that the selection of candidates becomes difficult.
[0067]
The second effect is that existing kana-kanji conversion means and a dictionary can be used. The reason is that the present invention only adds processing before and after the kana-kanji conversion means, so that the modification to the kana-kanji conversion means is small.
