BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a communication method and a communication apparatus, and more particularly, to a communication method and a communication apparatus that can provide a system that enables high-speed transfer of a large amount of user data generated in a spot without affecting normal communication.
[0002]
[Prior art]
In the field of mobile communications, traffic from terminals tends to increase with the spread of mobile phone terminals. Further, expansion of service contents by operators (operators), in particular, expansion of web-based contents, has resulted in further increase in traffic due to access to web sites, download of contents, and the like. On the other hand, since the number of radio resources required for this, for example, the number of radio communication channels that can be used simultaneously, is limited, other terminals in the same base station area are performing an operation in which a certain terminal transmits and receives a large amount of user data. There is a concern that the situation will affect communications by
[0003]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
Conventionally, in such a mobile communication system, a mobile phone terminal existing within a range covered by a certain base station is capable of data transmission by communication via the base station and a base station adjacent thereto. Yes. In addition, within the range covered by the same base station, a normal call signal and other signals for transmitting user data such as the web content other than that are transmitted using a common radio resource. Therefore, when there are a large number of mobile phone terminals within the coverage of the same base station, one of the terminals performs a (high-speed) data transfer operation that requires a certain amount of broadband such as downloading of so-called rich content. In such a case, the communication band may be significantly compressed until it is finished, and in some cases, a situation may occur in which other terminals cannot communicate.
[0004]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In view of the above situation, an object of the present invention is to provide an environment in which a large amount of user data can be simultaneously communicated at high speed without affecting other communications in the base station area. Moreover, high-speed communication in the mobile IP communication network can be achieved by fusing the high-speed communication function originally realized independently of the mobile communication into the mobile IP communication network in a seamless manner without changing the framework of the existing mobile communication technology. The purpose is to realize communication.
[0005]
That is, the present invention provides an area to which a wireless LAN or the like that can perform communication at a much higher speed than the communication of the conventional mobile communication network path is provided within the range covered by the base station, and a signal such as a request for its use. Information is transmitted to the base station controller using the conventional communication path, so that the normal signal is separated from the path used for normal call signal transmission and the other path used for user data transmission. This enables high-speed communication of a large amount of spotted user data within the applicable area without affecting communication.
[0006]
That is, the present invention is a communication method that enables communication by a mobile terminal using a predetermined mobile communication network and communication using a predetermined wireless communication network different from the predetermined mobile communication network. The mobile terminal obtains a predetermined address for the communication service when the communication terminal is ready to receive the communication service, and uses the signal transfer function of the predetermined mobile communication network to obtain the obtained address. A step of notifying the control means for controlling communication by the mobile communication network, and exchange of data between the mobile terminal and the control means via the predetermined wireless communication network triggered by the notification of the address It consists of establishing a session.
[0007]
By adopting such a configuration, it is possible to construct an environment in which a communication service using a wireless communication network such as a different predetermined wireless LAN can be implemented in a spot manner by a relatively simple method using the functions of an existing mobile communication network as it is. Can do. Therefore, it is possible to implement high-speed and large-capacity communication services at any time without affecting the normal call signal transmission and small-capacity data communication, etc. during the operation of existing mobile communication network services with a relatively simple configuration. It becomes.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings.
[0009]
The present embodiment is basically a mobile communication system based on 3GPP, which is a project group engaged in the creation of specifications for the so-called third generation mobile communication system “IMT2000”, and has a configuration as shown in FIG. 1, for example.
[0010]
The communication system is roughly divided into a radio access network (RAN) and a core network (CN) 40 that manages position control / call control / service control. The radio access network includes a base station controller (RNC) 30 and a number of It consists of

It can be sent to the base
[0020]
In addition, by designating the “wireless LAN desired parameter” by operating the terminal at the time of starting communication, the terminal user can determine the intention to use the wireless LAN path for each communication content. Also, by adding the parameter as new context information, this information can be transmitted to the network side through an existing signal (active PDP context request). Also, the

In addition, the wireless transmission path (Radio Bearer) established in step S2 is maintained even during user data transfer via the wireless LAN path. Since user data does not flow through the transmission path (that is, the transmission path via the Node B 20) while using the wireless LAN path, the transmission path is switched from an individual channel to a common channel in accordance with the conventional 3GPP specifications, thereby Savings are made. Since this switching requires a certain amount of time, it is desirable to control the wireless transmission path (Radio Bearer) to be forcibly switched from the individual channel to the common channel when switching to the wireless LAN path.

[0066]
As described above, according to the embodiment of the present invention, the wireless LAN service as a high-speed communication service that has been performed independently of the normal mobile communication so far can be changed without changing the framework of the existing mobile communication technology. It is possible to incorporate. Accordingly, the operator (operator) of the mobile communication network can expand the communication capability of his / her communication network with a small investment. In addition, the mobile terminal user can perform high-speed IP communication without worrying about the communication resource usage status of other mobile terminal users. The use of high-speed IP communication by such mobile terminal users can be a source of income for the mobile communication network operator, thereby improving the willingness of the mobile communication network operator to invest in further expanding the communication capacity of the network.
