Description

【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a door weather strip that is attached to the outer periphery of a door frame of an automobile door and seals between the door frame and a door opening edge of a vehicle body.
[0002]
[Prior art]
As shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, this type of door weather strip 1 includes a base portion 11, a hollow seal portion 12 that bulges from the base portion 11, and a base end near the vehicle seal outer side of the hollow seal portion 12. It has a basic structure with a seal lip 13 that extends, the base 11 is fitted to a retainer 21 formed on the outer periphery of the door frame 2, and the side surface of the seal lip 13 on the outside of the vehicle is outside the door frame 2. The hollow seal portion 13 abuts against the inner surface of the end projecting edge 22 and elastically contacts the door opening edge 3 of the vehicle body (FIG. 3 shows the door opening edge along the center pillar 4) when the door is closed. In the figure, 6 is a glass run which is attached to the inner periphery of the door frame 2 and sandwiches the peripheral portion of the door glass 7 from both sides.
[0003]
The seal lip 13 is formed between the retainer 21 and the base portion 11 of the door weather strip 1 by rainwater or car wash water that has entered from between the door opening edge 3 of the vehicle body and the tip of the outer edge protruding edge 22 of the door frame 2. It plays a role of preventing leakage to the passenger compartment side through a gap, and the outer end is contacted by a surface having a width W so that the seal is not interrupted even if the door weather strip 1 is assembled unevenly. It is brought into contact with the protruding edge 22.
[0004]
Although FIG. 3 shows the weather strip of the front door, a weather strip having substantially the same structure is also attached to the door frame of the rear door.
[0005]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
By the way, when the door to which this kind of door weather strip 1 is attached is closed, especially when it is strongly closed, an abnormal noise may be heard from the door weather strip 1 immediately after that. As shown in FIG. 3, the base portion 11 of the door weather strip 1 is set slightly smaller than the retainer 21 for convenience of fitting work into the retainer 21, so that there is a gap between the retainer 21 and the base portion 11. This is because the door weather strip 1 vibrates with respect to the retainer 21 when the door is closed, and the seal lip 13 repeatedly contacts and separates from the outer edge protrusion 22 of the door frame 2.
[0006]
Therefore, as shown in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 8-310239, the above-mentioned difference is obtained by sticking a flexible material that closes the gap facing the outer edge protruding edge 22 of the door frame 2 to the outer surface of the seal lip 13. Although the generation of sound can be prevented, man-hours are required to attach a different material to the door weather strip 1, and the manufacturing cost increases.
[0007]
Therefore, the present invention has been made with the object of preventing the generation of the abnormal noise when the door is closed without adding a member different from this to the door weather strip or performing special processing. .
[0008]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The present invention relates to a base portion fitted to a retainer provided on the outer periphery of a door frame of an automobile door, a hollow seal portion that bulges from the base portion and elastically contacts a door opening edge of a vehicle body when the door is closed, and a hollow seal portion A seal lip extending from the base end outside the vehicle, the seal lip extending from the base end toward the outside of the vehicle, and a direction bent from the tip of the base portion along the outer edge protruding edge of the door frame The door weather strip includes a lip portion that has a side surface on the outer side of the vehicle that is in contact with the inner side surface of the outer edge protruding edge, and extends in the longitudinal direction of the weather strip substantially parallel to each other on the side surface on the vehicle outer side of the lip portion. Forming a plurality of protrusions whose tips are in contact with the inner surface of the outer edge protruding edge, and the thickness of the lip portion in the groove between the protrusions is smaller than the thickness of the root portion of the seal lip did.
[0009]
The contact width between the seal lip and the outer edge protruding edge of the door is reduced, and the hitting sound is reduced. Further, since a plurality of protrusions are provided, the seal is not interrupted even if the door weather strip is assembled unevenly. Further, since the thickness of the seal lip in the groove portion is made thinner than the base side of the seal lip, the seal lip that contacts the outer edge of the door frame is easily bent, and the vibration of the seal lip when the door is closed is absorbed by the deflection. Therefore, it is possible to more effectively prevent the hitting sound.
[0010]
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
FIG. 1A shows a cross section of the door weather strip (hereinafter simply referred to as “weather strip”) 1A of the present invention at a position along the line AA in FIG. 2, and FIG. It is a principal part enlarged view of FIG. 1 (A).
[0011]
The weather strip 1A is formed by connecting the extrusion member attached to the upper side portion 2A of the door frame 2 (FIG. 2) and the extrusion member attached to the vertical side portion 2B of the door frame 2 at the corner portion C. It consists of a foamed material of EPDM rubber or olefinic thermoplastic elastomer.
[0012]
The weather strip 1A has substantially the same cross-sectional shape over its entire length, and includes a base portion 11, a hollow seal portion 12 that bulges from the base portion 11, and a seal lip 13 that extends from the base end of the hollow seal portion 12 outside the vehicle. I have.
[0013]
On the other hand, the protruding edge 22 of the door frame 2 rises from the outer end. A retainer 21 for attaching the weather strip 1 </ b> A is superposed on the outer periphery of the flat portion 23 of the door frame 2. Both ends in the width direction of the retainer 21 are curved in the opposite direction in a C-shaped cross section. The outer end of the vehicle extends along the inner side of the outer plate 221 of the outer end protruding edge 22 to form an inner plate 222 of the outer end protruding edge 22. The inner half portion of the inner plate 222 faces the outer plate 221 of the outer end protruding edge 22 substantially parallel to the outer plate 221, and the outer half portion overlaps the outer plate 221.
[0014]
The weather strip 1 </ b> A is attached to the door frame 2 by fitting the base portion 11 into the retainer 21. The above basic structure is substantially the same as the conventional structure.
[0015]
The feature of the weather strip 1A of the present invention is the structure of the seal lip 13. The seal lip 13 has a root portion 13A extending outward from the base end of the hollow seal portion 12 toward the outer end protruding edge 22 of the door frame 2, and an outer end protruding edge bent from the tip of the root portion 13A. 22 and a lip portion 13 </ b> B extending in the direction along 22. On the side of the lip portion 13B on the vehicle outer side, a plurality of strips (Fig. In the example, three protrusions 130 are formed. As shown in FIG. 1B, each convex portion 130a, 130b, 130c has a tapered trapezoidal cross section and a rounded tip, and each convex portion 130a, 130b, 130c has a weather strip at substantially the same interval. They extend parallel to each other in the longitudinal direction. And the thickness S 1, S 10 of the groove 131 lip 13B between the convex portions 130a, 130b, 130c is even smaller than the thickness S 2 of the smallest portion of the thickness of the root portion 13A, the moiety About 2/3 to 1/2 of the thickness.
[0016]
The base portion 11 of the weather strip 1A is slightly smaller than the retainer 21 in order to facilitate the work of fitting into the retainer 21, and particularly has a small size in the width direction. There is a gap. The seal lip 13 of the weather strip 1A attached to the door frame 2 has the projections 130a, 130b, 130c at the tips of the inner plate 222 of the outer edge protrusion 22 of the door frame 2 and the inner half portion 222a. Abut. Of the convex portions 130a, 130b, and 130c, the convex portion 130c closest to the root portion 13A may not be completely in contact with the inner plate 222 due to assembly variation of the weather strip 1A.
[0017]
Thus, when the door is closed, the hollow seal portion 12 of the weather strip 1A comes into contact with the door opening edge 3 (center pillar in the illustrated example) of the vehicle body and seals between the door frame 2 and the door opening edge 3.
[0018]
In this case, when the door is tightly closed, the weather strip 1A having a gap between the retainer 21 and the base portion 11 vibrates due to the impact, and the convex portions 130a, 130b, and 130c of the lip portion 13B are moved to the door frame. The contact and separation are repeated with respect to the outer edge 22 of the outer end. However, since the contact between each of the convex portions 130a, 130b, and 130c and the outer end protruding edge 22 is close to a line contact, the hitting sound is reduced to such an extent that it can hardly be heard. In particular, by reducing the thickness of the lip portion 13B between the convex portions 130a, 130b, and 130c, the lip portion 13B is easily bent, so that the convex portions 130a, 130b, and 130c abut against the outer edge protrusion 22 of the door frame 2. The contacted lip portion 13B absorbs vibrations acting on the lip portion 13B by bending and is hardly separated from the outer end protruding edge 22, so that the generation of hitting sound is almost completely prevented.
[0019]
The convex portion 130 of the lip portion 13B forms at least two, preferably three to four. As a result, even if the weather strip 1A is attached to the outer end protruding edge 22 of the door frame 2 at any one of the convex portions due to variations in assembly of the weather strip 1A, the sealing performance is complemented by the other convex portions. Therefore, no water leakage occurs between the weather strip 1A and the retainer 21.
[0020]
The convex portion 130 is formed only on the seal lip of the weather strip 1A that is attached to the vertical side portion 2B (FIG. 2) of the door frame 2 where particularly large vibrations act when the door is closed. There is also an effect to prevent abnormal noise when the door is closed. However, it is desirable to form the protrusion 130 on the seal lip 13 over the entire length of the weather strip 1A. The convex portion 130 can be formed integrally with the main body portion of the weather strip 1A when the weather strip 1A is extruded.
[0021]
【The invention's effect】
According to the present invention, even if the door is strongly closed, it is possible to completely prevent the generation of abnormal noise due to the weather strip vibration, or to reduce it to an extent where it can hardly be heard.
