Description

The present invention relates to a transmission power control apparatus that appropriately maintains the transmission power of a common channel that is commonly accessed by a plurality of terminals without being assigned to a specific terminal in a wireless transmission system to which a spread spectrum communication method is applied. The present invention relates to a transmission power control method for realizing the transmission power control apparatus.

The CDMA system has confidentiality and interference resistance, and is not only flexible to adapt to multimedia and various channel arrangements, but also establishes transmission power control technology that can solve the near-far problem. Therefore, it is actively applied to mobile communication systems.
FIG. 5 is a diagram illustrating a configuration example of a transmission power control unit provided in a radio base station of a mobile communication system to which the CDMA scheme is applied.
In the figure, a first transmission wave signal is given to one input of the synthesizer 41, and a single or a plurality of second transmission wave signals are given to the input of the level variable unit 42 in parallel. A corresponding output port of the processor 43 is connected to the control input of the level variable unit 42, and an output of the level variable unit 42 is connected to a corresponding input of the synthesizer 41. The output of the synthesizer 41 is connected to a transmission unit (including an antenna system) (not shown).
The first transmission wave signal described above is generated based on the following processing.
A specific carrier signal is primarily modulated in accordance with control information (such as a pilot signal) broadcast via a pilot channel to all terminals located in a radio zone formed by the corresponding radio base station.
A spread wave based on a predetermined spread code is applied to the modulated wave generated by the primary modulation. The signal subjected to this processing is the first transmission wave signal.
The second transmission wave signal described above is generated based on the following processing.
-Transmission information to be transmitted via a traffic channel (for example, DPCH in the WCDMA system) individually assigned to terminals located in the above-described wireless zone (not only a call signal but also a transmission service target) The carrier wave signal is first modulated in parallel according to the data.
The modulated wave generated by the primary modulation is subjected to spreading processing based on an individual unique spreading code, and each of the second transmission wave signals is obtained.
In the transmission power control unit configured as described above, the processor 43 performs channel control related to a call generated in a terminal located in the above-described wireless zone autonomously or a communication link with a higher-level station (base station control station) (not shown). By linking through.
Furthermore, the processor 43 assigns a traffic channel as appropriate to the terminal that has made a call based on the channel control procedure, and transmits the transmission power of the second transmission wave signal through each of the assigned traffic channels. An appropriate value is maintained by coordinating with the terminal corresponding to the receiving end to transmit.
Therefore, the terminal demodulates the transmission wave signal transmitted to the traffic channel with an appropriate transmission power from the radio base station provided with the above transmission power control unit, so that the communication signal and other transmission information can be transmitted with good transmission quality. Can be received.
Furthermore, all terminals located in the radio zone formed by this radio base station provide communication services with high transmission quality without suffering from interference and disturbance caused by excessive transmission power of the traffic channel described above. Can receive.
By the way, in such a conventional example, the transmission power of the common channel such as the pilot channel is allocated to the traffic channel, even though transmission power control for solving the perspective problem is performed for the traffic channel. Even if the sum of the transmission power of the traffic channels is the maximum value that can be taken under the distribution of terminals in the radio zone, the “downstream of the common channel at the terminal located near the edge of the radio zone” The margin of “a quality sufficient to maintain the transmission quality” is set to a fixed value.
However, the transmission power of such a common channel becomes larger than necessary when, for example, the number of terminals to which traffic channels are allocated is extremely small, and it is a factor that unnecessarily increases interference and interference for the terminals. End up.
Furthermore, the transmission power of the above-described common channel is located near the edge of “a radio zone that is formed in a radio frequency band common to the radio zone formed by this radio base station and is adjacent to the radio zone”. Similarly, there is a possibility of causing interference and interference to the terminal.
In addition, in the radio base stations that form these adjacent radio zones, for the purpose of reducing the deterioration in transmission quality caused by the above-described interference and interference at the terminals located near the edge of each radio zone Since the transmission power of the traffic channel must be set to a large value under transmission power control, not only unnecessary power is consumed, but there is a possibility that the overall transmission path capacity in the corresponding radio zone is reduced. there were.
Therefore, in the conventional example, the transmission range is better as the distribution range of the “terminal to which the traffic channel is assigned” or “the electric field strength of the common channel” in the wireless zone and the concentration ratio of the traffic are wider. The running cost may increase or the service quality may decrease.

Another object of the present invention is to avoid a decrease in transmission quality and overall transmission path capacity that may occur in the conventional example.
Furthermore, the object of the present invention is to ensure that the transmission power of the common channel does not become an excessive value or an excessive value even when the power amplifier, antenna system, or other characteristics involved in the transmission of the traffic channel fluctuate. It is in the point kept in.
Another object of the present invention is to reduce hardware without reducing the accuracy of transmission power control of the common channel.
Furthermore, an object of the present invention is to maintain the transmission power of the common channel properly without adding hardware.
Another object of the present invention is to enable a flexible response to a sudden change in call volume or traffic volume.
Furthermore, an object of the present invention is that the transmission power control of the common channel can be stably achieved even when the call volume and traffic volume can change widely and rapidly.
In addition, an object of the present invention is to maintain the transmission power of the common channel stably even when the total transmission power of the traffic channel frequently increases or decreases.
Furthermore, an object of the present invention is to enable a flexible response to various traffic distributions.
Another object of the present invention is to enable flexible adaptation to various channel arrangements, channel configurations, and multiple access schemes.
Furthermore, an object of the present invention is to effectively utilize surplus resources without greatly changing the configuration.
The purpose described above is to monitor the sum of the transmission power of the traffic channel and the common channel, and maintain the transmission power of the common channel as the product of the sum of the monitored transmission power and a predetermined target value. This is achieved by a characteristic transmission power control apparatus and a transmission power control method.
In these transmission power control apparatuses and transmission power control methods, even if the total transmission power of the traffic channels allocated and transmitted in parallel with the completed call is changed, the transmission power of the common channel is not changed. The power is maintained at a ratio equal to the target value described above with respect to the sum of the transmission power of the channel and the common channel.
The above-described object is achieved by a transmission power control apparatus characterized by monitoring the total transmission power by measuring the total transmission power of the traffic channel and the common channel.
In such a transmission power control apparatus, the transmission power of the common channel is maintained at a value that is flexibly adapted to increase / decrease in the substantial total of the transmission power of the traffic channel.
The purpose mentioned above is to monitor the total transmission power by measuring the transmission power of traffic channels and adding the transmission power to be transmitted to the common channel under channel control to these transmission powers. This is achieved by a characteristic transmission power control device.
In such a transmission power control apparatus, the ratio of the transmission power of the common channel to the sum of the transmission power of the traffic channel and the common channel is evaluated by actually measuring only the transmission power of the traffic channel that can vary widely. .
The above-described object is achieved by a transmission power control apparatus characterized by monitoring the total transmission power by taking the total transmission power to be transmitted to the traffic channel and common channel under channel control. Is done.
In such a transmission power control apparatus, the transmission power of the traffic channel and the common channel is obtained without being actually measured, and is applied to maintaining the ratio of the transmission power of the common channel.
The above-described object is to multiply the transmission power of the common channel by the product of the sum of the monitored transmission power and a target value set in advance as a value adapted to the distribution with respect to the time series of traffic to be transmitted through the traffic channel. As long as they match, the transmission power of the common channel is properly maintained.
The above-described object is achieved by a transmission power control apparatus characterized in that the target value is different between a process in which the sum of monitored transmission powers increases and a process in which the total decreases.
In such a transmission power control apparatus, the transmission power of the common channel is varied under hysteresis with respect to increase / decrease of the total transmission power, not the total transmission power of the traffic channel.
The purpose described above is such that even if the total transmission power of the traffic channel is less than the predetermined minimum value, the transmission quality of the wireless transmission path formed with the terminal via the common channel is allowed to deteriorate. This is achieved by the transmission power control apparatus characterized in that the aforementioned product is set to a large value.
In such a transmission power control apparatus, any one of the call volume, traffic volume, and completed call rate is extremely small, so that the transmission power of the common channel is excessive even during a period in which the total transmission power of the traffic channels is extremely small. Is set to a small value.
The above-mentioned purpose is for a radio station located in a radio zone where a terminal can be located and a radio zone formed around the radio zone even if the total transmission power of traffic channels is equal to or greater than a predetermined maximum value. This is achieved by the transmission power control apparatus characterized in that the aforementioned product is set to a value that is small enough to allow interference or jamming occurring through the common channel.
In such a transmission power control apparatus, the transmission power of the common channel is excessively large even during a period in which the total transmission power of the traffic channels is extremely large because the call volume, traffic volume, or completed call rate is extremely large. Setting to a value is avoided.
The above-described object is achieved by a transmission power control apparatus characterized in that the common channel is “a radio channel logically formed in a physical radio transmission path”.
In such a transmission power control apparatus, as long as the transmission power can be accurately changed for each frame, slot or other specific field unit or datagram or other transmission unit in which the common channel is formed, Transmission power control is realized with high accuracy.
The above-described object is characterized in that the load and / or function are distributed between the radio base station forming the radio zone and the base station controller that performs channel control related to the radio zone. Achieved by the power controller.
In such a transmission power control apparatus, the transmission power control of the common channel is achieved with high accuracy in parallel with flexible adaptation to various configurations of the wireless transmission system.

rd(ここでは、簡単のため、図4に示すように、本実施形態にかかわる送信電力制御部が備えられた無線基地局の局情報として与えられ、かつ「1」未満である一定の値であると仮定する。)
Δp=rd・Pa−p …(1)
First, the principle of the transmission power control apparatus according to the present invention will be described.
FIG. 1 is a block diagram showing the principle of a transmission power control apparatus according to the present invention.
The transmission power control apparatus shown in FIG. 1 includes monitoring means 11 and transmission power variable means 12.
The principle of the first transmission power control apparatus according to the present invention is as follows.
The monitoring means 11 includes a traffic channel assigned to each terminal in a radio zone to which the CDMA communication method is applied, and a common channel (for example, a common pilot channel) formed as a common radio transmission path between these terminals. The total transmission power with the control channel). The transmission power variable means 12 is given in advance a target value of the ratio of the transmission power of the common channel to the total transmission power of the traffic channel and the common channel, and the total transmission power monitored by the monitoring means 11 and the target value. To maintain the transmission power of this common channel.
In the transmission power apparatus having such a configuration, even if the total transmission power of the traffic channels allocated and transmitted in parallel to the terminals changes, the transmission power of the common channel is not limited to these traffic channels and common channels. The transmission power is maintained at a ratio equal to the target value described above.
Therefore, a decrease in transmission quality that can be caused by “the transmission power of the common channel is constant regardless of the total transmission power of the traffic channel” and the overall transmission path capacity can be avoided with high accuracy. The
The principle of the second transmission power control apparatus according to the present invention is as follows.
The monitoring unit 11 monitors the total transmission power by measuring the total transmission power of the traffic channel and the common channel.
In the transmission power apparatus having such a configuration, the transmission power of the common channel is maintained at a value flexibly adapted to increase / decrease in the substantial sum of the transmission power of the traffic channel.
Therefore, even when the power amplifier, antenna system, and other characteristics involved in the transmission of the traffic channel fluctuate, the transmission power of the common channel is appropriately maintained without becoming an excessive value or an excessive value.
The principle of the third transmission power control apparatus according to the present invention is as follows.
The monitoring unit 11 measures the transmission power of the traffic channel, and monitors the total transmission power by adding the transmission power to be transmitted to the common channel to the transmission power.
In the transmission power device having such a configuration, the ratio of the transmission power of the common channel to the sum of the transmission power of the traffic channel and the common channel is evaluated by actually measuring only the transmission power of the traffic channel that can vary widely. The
Therefore, the hardware can be reduced without lowering the accuracy of transmission power control of the common channel as compared with the case where means for measuring the transmission power of the common channel as well as the traffic channel is provided.
The principle of the fourth transmission power control apparatus according to the present invention is as follows.
The monitoring unit 11 monitors the total transmission power by taking the total transmission power to be transmitted to the traffic channel and the common channel under channel control.
In the transmission power device having such a configuration, the transmission power of the traffic channel and the common channel is obtained without actual measurement, and is applied to maintain the ratio of the transmission power of the common channel.
Therefore, the transmission power of the common channel is properly maintained without adding the hardware for measuring the transmission power described above.
The principle of the fifth transmission power control apparatus according to the present invention is as follows.
The transmission power variable means 12 is a product of the sum of the transmission power monitored by the monitoring means 11 and a target value set in advance as a value adapted to the distribution with respect to the time series of traffic to be transmitted through the traffic channel. , Maintain the transmission power of the common channel.
In the transmission power device having such a configuration, as long as the rate of change of the transmission power of the common channel does not exceed an allowable limit, and the accuracy of the total of the monitored transmission power is appropriate, the common channel Is achieved at high speed.
Therefore, a flexible response to a sudden change in call volume or traffic volume is possible.
The principle of the sixth transmission power control apparatus according to the present invention is as follows.
The transmission power varying means 12 maintains the transmission power of the common channel at the product of the smooth value of the product or the smooth value of the sum of the transmission power monitored by the monitoring means 11 and the target value.
In the transmission power apparatus having such a configuration, even when the total transmission power of the traffic channel can change abruptly, the time constant applied to the above-described smoothing value calculation changes the total of these transmission powers. As long as the rate matches, the transmission power of the common channel is properly maintained.
Therefore, even if the call volume and traffic volume can vary widely and rapidly, the transmission power control of the common channel can be stably achieved.
The principle of the seventh transmission power control apparatus according to the present invention is as follows.
The target value is different between a process in which the total transmission power monitored by the monitoring unit 11 increases and a process in which the total decreases.
In the transmission power device having such a configuration, the transmission power of the common channel is variable not under the sum of the transmission power of the traffic channel but under hysteresis with respect to the increase / decrease of the sum.
Therefore, even when the total transmission power of the traffic channel is frequently increased or decreased, the transmission power of the common channel can be maintained stably, and can be caused by frequently changing the transmission power of the common channel. Unnecessary transmission quality degradation is avoided.
The principle of the eighth transmission power control apparatus according to the present invention is as follows.
The transmission power varying means 12 is allowed to deteriorate the transmission quality of the wireless transmission path formed through a common channel with the terminal even if the total transmission power of the traffic channel is equal to or less than the predetermined minimum value. Set the aforementioned product to a value that is as large as possible.
In the transmission power device having such a configuration, not only the call volume and traffic volume, but also the transmission power of the common channel even during a period when the total transmission power of the traffic channel is extremely small because the completed call rate is extremely small. Is set to an excessively small value.
Therefore, a flexible response to various traffic distributions is possible.
The principle of the ninth transmission power control apparatus according to the present invention is as follows.
The transmission power varying means 12 is a radio located in a radio zone where the terminal can be located and a radio zone formed around the radio zone even if the total transmission power of the traffic channel is equal to or greater than a predetermined maximum value. The aforementioned product is set to a value that is small enough to allow the station to allow interference or interference through the common channel.
In the transmission power device having such a configuration, the transmission power of the common channel is excessively large even in a period in which the total transmission power of the traffic channels is extremely large because the call volume, traffic volume, or completed call rate is extremely large. Setting a large value is avoided.
Therefore, a flexible response to various traffic distributions is possible.
The principle of the tenth transmission power control apparatus according to the present invention is as follows.
The common channel is a wireless channel logically formed on a physical wireless transmission line formed based on the CDMA communication method.
In the transmission power device having such a configuration, as long as the transmission power can be accurately changed for each frame, slot or other specific field unit or datagram or other transmission unit in which the common channel is formed, the common channel The transmission power control is realized with high accuracy.
Therefore, flexible adaptation to various channel arrangements, channel configurations and multiple access schemes is possible.
The eleventh principle of the transmission power control apparatus according to the present invention is as follows.
The load and / or function of the monitoring unit 11 or the transmission power varying unit 12 is distributed to the radio base station 20 forming the radio zone and the base station control device 21 that performs channel control related to the radio zone. The
In the transmission power apparatus having such a configuration, the transmission power control of the common channel is achieved with high accuracy in parallel with flexible adaptation to various configurations of the wireless transmission system.
Therefore, the surplus resources of the wireless transmission system can be effectively used without significantly changing the configuration of the wireless transmission system.
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings.
FIG. 2 is a diagram showing first to fourth embodiments of the present invention.
The feature of the present embodiment is that the first transmission wave signal is given to the multiplexer 41 via the level variable unit 31, and the transmission power measuring unit 32 cascaded to the output of the multiplexer 41, and this level A processor 33 having output ports respectively connected to the control terminals of the variable unit 31 and the level variable unit 42 described above is provided.
FIG. 3 is an operation flowchart of the first to fourth embodiments of the present invention.
The operation of the first embodiment of the present invention will be described below with reference to FIGS.
[Embodiment 1]
The feature of this embodiment lies in the following processing procedure that is performed by the processor 33 and varies the level of the first transmission wave signal to be supplied to the multiplexer 41 via the level varying unit 31.
The transmission power measuring unit 32 sets the total power (hereinafter simply referred to as “total transmission power”) P of the first transmission wave signal and the second transmission wave signal synthesized by the multiplexer 41 to a certain period (hereinafter referred to as “total transmission power”). Here, for simplicity, it is assumed that “every 60 seconds”.)
The processor 33 performs the following processing according to such total transmission power P.
(1) A history of the total transmission power P is taken (FIG. 3 (1)).
(2) Based on the moving average method, exponential smoothing method and other algorithms, the total transmission power included in the history is smoothed (averaged) ((2) in FIG. 3).
(3) A suitable ratio that the level of the first transmission wave signal should occupy with respect to the total transmission power P (hereinafter referred to as “reference power ratio”) rd (here, for simplicity, as shown in FIG. , And given as station information of the radio base station provided with the transmission power control unit according to the present embodiment, and is a constant value less than “1”), and the above-described total Pt Then, the gain G of the value Δp level variable unit 31 expressed by the following equation is reduced ((3) in FIG. 3).
Δp = rd · Pa−p (1)
That is, even if the total transmission power Pt of the traffic channel increases or decreases, the transmission power p of the common channel is equal to the sum of the transmission powers of all the channels supplied to the transmission unit by the multiplexer 41 and the above-mentioned reference. It is set to a value that is maintained as a product of the power ratio rd.
Therefore, according to the present embodiment, even if the total transmission power Pt of the traffic channel changes, the transmission quality p and the overall transmission line capacity decrease due to no change in the transmission power p of the common channel. Highly avoided.
In the present embodiment, the gain of the value Δp level variable unit 31 shown in the above equation (1) is quickly updated in the cycle in which the total transmission power P is measured by the transmission power measurement unit 32.
However, the present invention is not limited to such a configuration, and, for example, a decrease in transmission quality and other problems caused by the fact that the ratio of the transmission power p of the common channel is not maintained at the above-described reference power ratio rd are allowed. In this case, the gain of the level variable unit 31 is increased step by step from the time when the value Δp represented by the above equation (1) is calculated to the time when the total transmission power P is measured by the transmission power measuring unit 32. It may be updated.
In the present embodiment, the total transmission power P described above is measured by the transmission power measurement unit 32.
However, the present invention is not limited to such a configuration, and for example, any of the following configurations may be applied.
The transmission power measuring unit 32 roughly couples to the output of the level variable unit 42 (for example, based on electrostatic coupling, electromagnetic coupling, or other coupling method), thereby summing the levels Pt of all second transmission wave signals. And the processing (3) is omitted, and the result of smoothing (averaging) the sum Pt is applied to the processing after the processing (4).
The transmission power measuring unit 32 directly obtains the level p of the first transmission wave signal described above by coarsely coupling the output of the level variable unit 31 in the same manner, and instead of the above processing (3), the “channel As the sum of the known transmission power set under the control (including transmission power control), an arithmetic operation for obtaining the total transmission power Pt of all the traffic channels is performed, and in addition to these levels p The result of smoothing (averaging) the sum Pt is applied to the processing after the processing (4).
Furthermore, in the present embodiment, the gain (common channel transmission power p) of the level variable unit 31 is expressed by the above equation (1) regardless of whether the total transmission power Pt of the traffic channel increases or decreases. The above-described reference power ratio rd is maintained by updating the indicated value Δp.
However, when the gain (transmission power p of the common channel) of the level variable unit 31 can be updated at an excessively high frequency over a period in which the total transmission power Pt of the traffic channel frequently increases or decreases, For example, it may be updated under a desired hysteresis.
In the present embodiment, the total transmission power P measured by the transmission power measurement unit 32 is smoothed and then applied to the calculation of the value Δp.
However, the present invention is not limited to such a configuration. For example, a sequence of values Δp calculated in order of time series based on the reference power ratio rd is smoothed, and the latest value Δp level obtained as a result is smoothed. A desired time constant may be ensured by reducing the gain of the variable unit 31.
Furthermore, in the present embodiment, the reference power ratio rd is maintained by appropriately increasing or decreasing the gain of the level variable unit 31 by the absolute value of the above-described value Δp.
However, the present invention is not limited to such a configuration. For example, the level variable unit in which the transmission power p of the common channel is set to the value of the first term on the right side of the above equation (1). When the “gain (attenuation) 31” is uniquely determined, the gain may be appropriately set as an absolute value, not a relative value with respect to a previously set value.
Hereinafter, a second embodiment of the present invention will be described.
The feature of this embodiment is the following processing procedure performed by the processor 33 in addition to the point that the transmission power measuring unit 32 indicated by a dotted line in FIG. 2 is not provided.
The operation of the second embodiment of the present invention will be described below with reference to FIGS.
[Embodiment 2]
The processor 33 performs the following processes (a) and (b) instead of the processes (1) to (3) performed in the first embodiment described above, thereby summing the levels of the second transmission wave signal. Obtain Pt.
(A) Under “channel control (including transmission power control)”, a history of “total sum of transmission power of all known traffic channels that are individually set in the order of time series” is taken (FIG. 3A). ).
(B) Based on the moving average method, exponential smoothing method, and other algorithms, the sum total contained in the history is smoothed (averaged) to obtain the total sum Pt of the second transmission wave signal level (FIG. 3). (B)).
Furthermore, the processor 33 maintains the ratio of the transmission power of the common channel at the reference power ratio rd by performing the processes after the process (4) described above based on the same procedure as in the first embodiment.
That is, the maintenance of the reference power ratio rd is achieved even if the transmission power measurement unit 32 is not provided.
Therefore, according to the present embodiment, the hardware configuration is simplified and the power consumption can be reduced as compared with the first embodiment described above.
The operation of the third embodiment of the present invention will be described below with reference to FIGS.
[Embodiment 3]
The feature of this embodiment is the following processing procedure performed by the processor 33.
In parallel with the processing related to the channel control and transmission power control described above, the processor 33 identifies holidays, types of holidays, and days of the week based on a predetermined calendar, and performs any of the following for each predetermined time zone: A history of items (hereinafter simply referred to as “effective traffic amount”) is taken (FIG. 3A), and a statistical distribution of these “effective traffic amounts” is grasped (FIG. 3B).
The number of traffic channels allocated in parallel to the completed call valid under channel control, the sum of the channel capacity of these traffic channels, transmitted over (or to be transmitted through) these traffic channels ) Information amount of effective transmission information Further, the processor 33 not only at the time of start-up, but also “historical time period in which such“ effective traffic amount ”changes significantly compared with the value in the preceding time period” When identified based on the above, the following series of processing is performed.
The estimated value of the “effective traffic amount” in the time zone including this time point as the starting point is specified based on the history described above (FIG. 3C).
A gain that ensures the above-described reference power ratio rd with respect to the sum Pg of average values of transmission power that should be set in the traffic channel in order to secure an “effective traffic amount” equal to the estimated value. (Degree of attenuation) (Here, for the sake of simplicity, it is assumed that it is a known value obtained in advance as an actual measurement value or a design value corresponding to this total Pg.) Is set in the level variable unit 31 (FIG. 3 ( D)).
That is, at the beginning of a time period when the amount of effective traffic to be transmitted in parallel via the traffic channel changes significantly, the transmission power p of the common channel adapts to the amount of traffic without unnecessary delay. Is set to the specified value.
Therefore, according to the present embodiment, it is possible to respond more flexibly to a sudden change in call volume or traffic volume than in the first and second embodiments described above.
The operation of the fourth embodiment of the present invention will be described below with reference to FIGS.
[Embodiment 4]
The feature of this embodiment is the following processing procedure performed by the processor 33.
The processor 33 is given in advance the following minimum value min and maximum value max.
Even in a state where the total transmission power Pt of the traffic channel is “0”, the terminals located in the entire radio zone formed by the radio base station provided with the transmission power control apparatus according to the present embodiment In any of these terminals, the transmission power p is reduced to the minimum value at which a received wave of “a level at which not only waiting for an incoming call occurring in the local station but also transmission and handoff” can be received via the common channel. The minimum value Gmin of the gain of the level variable unit 31 for which is set
Even if the total transmission power Pt of the traffic channel is large, the “effective completed call that subsequently occurs (traffic channel assigned to)” is “in parallel by the above-described radio base station. The maximum value Gmax of the gain of the level variable unit 31 in which the transmission power p is set to the “maximum value that can be assigned“ the surplus of transmission power that can be transmitted ””
Furthermore, the processor 33 updates the gain G of the level variable unit 31 as in the first to third embodiments except for the points listed below.
When the new gain G ′ to be set in place of the gain G falls below the above-mentioned minimum value Gmin, the gain of the level variable unit 31 is updated to the minimum value Gmin instead of the gain G ′ (FIG. 3 (P)).
When the new gain G ′ to be set in place of the gain G exceeds the above-described maximum value Gmax, the gain of the level variable unit 31 is updated to the maximum value Gmax instead of the gain G ′ (FIG. 3 (Q)).
Therefore, according to the present embodiment, even when the total transmission power of traffic channels transmitted in parallel can vary widely, both the transmission quality and the service quality can be maintained without excessively decreasing. Is done.
In the present embodiment, the gain of the level variable unit 31 is updated based on the result of the magnitude determination between both the minimum value Gmin and the maximum value Gmax and the gain G ′.
However, the present invention is not limited to such a configuration. For example, when the following condition is satisfied, each of the magnitude determination with the minimum value Gmin and the magnitude determination with the maximum value Gmax are performed. The gain of the level variable unit 31 may be updated according to the result of only the magnitude determination performed.
-The total transmission power Pt of the traffic channel is, for example, because an always-on service is provided or the average hold time is extremely long, so that "" the terminal located in the corresponding wireless zone is waiting for incoming calls, making outgoing calls and handoffs. It cannot be reduced below the “impossible value” or “to the extent that the level of the received wave arriving via the common channel decreases”.
-The total transmission power Pt of the traffic channel is, for example, based on the distribution of traffic and the traffic control or a predetermined communication regulation, " To the extent “allocation of surplus” becomes impossible, it cannot be large.
In each of the above-described embodiments, the transmission power of the common channel is appropriately updated to a value that maintains the above-described reference power ratio rd under the initiative of a radio base station that forms a single radio zone. Yes.
However, the present invention is not limited to such a configuration, for example, by linking directly or under the control of a base station controller with a radio base station that forms another radio zone adjacent to the radio zone. In all the radio zones formed by these radio base stations, the reduction in transmission quality and transmission path capacity resulting from the inappropriately large transmission power of the common channel may be reduced in parallel.
Further, in each of the above-described embodiments, no margin is added to the transmission power p of the common channel.
However, the transmission power p of such a common channel varies, for example, in the transmission characteristics of the wireless transmission path formed through the common channel between the whole or part of the corresponding wireless zone and the wireless base station. Therefore, if the transmission quality and service quality can be lowered to an unacceptable level, a large amount over the margin of a constant or variable that makes it possible to compensate for such a variation in transmission characteristics as in the conventional example. It may be set to a value.
Further, in each of the above-described embodiments, the common channel is physically formed by applying a unique spreading code different from the spreading code applied to form any traffic channel.
However, in the present invention, the common channel may be a logical radio channel multiplexed based on a predetermined frame configuration or the like on a physical radio channel formed by applying some spreading code. .
Further, in each of the above-described embodiments, the present invention is applied to the transmission power control unit provided in a single radio base station.
However, the present invention is not limited to such a configuration, and a base station that mainly performs channel control related to a single or a plurality of radio base stations and all radio zones formed by these radio base stations. You may comprise by distribute | distributing the function and / or a load with respect to all or one part with a control station.
In each of the above-described embodiments, transmission power control related to only a single pilot channel is achieved by the present invention.
However, the present invention is not limited to such a configuration. For example, a plurality of common channels including a control channel to be shared for selective calling and transmission of all terminals or to be applied individually are described below. The same applies as long as the condition is satisfied.
• Hardware is provided that allows changing the transmission power of individual common channels.
-The transmission power of individual common channels and the ratio of these transmission powers are specified with the desired accuracy and accuracy.
-For any common channel, a processing amount sufficient to achieve processing equivalent to the processing described above in parallel is ensured.
Further, in each of the above-described embodiments, transmission power control for the common channel and the traffic channel is performed in the radio frequency region by the level variable units 31 and 42, respectively.
However, the transmission power control for these common channels and traffic channels is not limited to either the baseband region or the intermediate frequency band as long as each stage leading to the feeding end of the antenna used for transmission operates in a linear region. It may be done at.
In addition, the present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiment, and various embodiments can be made within the scope of the present invention, and any improvement is applied to some or all of the constituent devices. Also good.

As described above, in the first transmission power control apparatus and the transmission power control method according to the present invention, “the transmission power of the common channel is constant regardless of the total transmission power of the traffic channels”. Thus, a reduction in the transmission quality that can occur as a result and the overall transmission path capacity can be avoided with high accuracy.

Furthermore, in the third transmission power control apparatus according to the present invention, the accuracy of the transmission power control of the common channel is reduced as compared with the case where a means for measuring the transmission power of the common channel as well as the traffic channel is provided. In addition, the hardware can be reduced.
Further, in the fourth transmission power control apparatus according to the present invention, the transmission power of the common channel is properly maintained without adding the hardware for measuring the transmission power described above.
Furthermore, in the fifth transmission power control apparatus according to the present invention, a flexible response to a sudden change in call volume or traffic volume is possible.
In the sixth transmission power control apparatus according to the present invention, transmission power control of the common channel can be stably achieved even when the call volume and traffic volume can change widely and rapidly.
Furthermore, in the seventh transmission power control apparatus according to the present invention, the transmission power of the common channel is stably maintained even when the total transmission power of the traffic channel frequently increases or decreases, and the transmission power of the common channel is stable. This avoids unnecessary transmission quality degradation that can occur due to frequent changes in the frequency.
Further, the eighth and ninth transmission power control devices according to the present invention can flexibly respond to various traffic distributions.
Furthermore, the tenth transmission power control apparatus according to the present invention can flexibly adapt to various channel arrangements, channel configurations and multiple access schemes.
