本発明は、飲料を無菌充填等の無菌処理を実施するための各装置を外部から遮蔽したクリーンチャンバーに関し、特に設備停止時における容器を搬入、搬出する開口部の遮断装置に関する。
【従来の技術】
PETびん等のプラスチック容器に天然水、お茶等の飲料を常温で充填するとき、充填環境を無菌状態にするため、容器を遮蔽した小部屋に搬入し、外気より高い圧力の無菌の空気を導入した小部屋の中で容器を殺菌し、充填機、キャッパも無菌状態になるように洗浄して充填・密封して、飲料の長期保存を可能にしている。 飲料の充填稼働中は無菌空気を回流、補給を続けるのは当然であるが、稼働停止中にまで無菌空気を送り続けるのは無駄なので、小部屋を完全に遮蔽することが望まれる。従来は、容器把持搬送スターホイールに容器無しの状態でシャッタを設けるのが通例であったが、これは構造的に完全な遮蔽は不可能なので、常時無菌空気を送り続ける必要があった。

クリーンチャンバー内は、飲料の充填稼働中は無菌空気を回流し、補給して若干のエア圧をかけて無菌状態を維持しているが、稼働停止中にまで無菌空気を送り続けるのは無駄であり、小部屋を完全に遮蔽したいところであるが、従来の容器の連続搬送手段にはシャッタを通す隙間を設けることができず、完全な遮蔽は困難であった。
特開平11−240599号に開示されたクリーンルーム開口部の遮蔽装置の例は、スクリュを分割してシャッタが出入りする隙間を設けるようになっているが、スクリュねじを分割するとスクリュの耐曲げ強度を保つことが困難であり、また、スクリュの被駆動側に駆動力を伝える継ぎ合わせ構造が難しくなるので、同じ提案項目中にスクリュは分割せずに遮断板にスクリュの外径に合わせた凹部を設けたものも同時に開示されているが、これは完全にクリーンルームを密閉することができない。
