従来、ノートパソコン等の電子機器に使用されて基板間を接続するシールド機能付のコネクタのコネクタレセプタクルとしては、図12〜図15に示すようなものが提案されている。

このコネクタレセプタクルは、コネクタプラグのコンタクトと接触導通する複数のコンタクト71と、配線板のグランドパターンに接続される接地部材72と、合成樹脂のような絶縁性を有する部材で形成されコンタクト71並びに接地部材72を支持する支持体73と、コンタクト71、接地部材72並びに支持体73を収納する金属製のシェル74とを備えている。

請求項1の発明は、上記目的を達成するために、配線板に実装されてコネクタプラグが挿抜自在に接続されるコネクタレセプタクルであって、コネクタプラグのコンタクトと接触導通する複数のコンタクトと、絶縁性を有する部材で形成されコンタクトを支持する支持体と、コンタクト並びに支持体を収納するシェルとを備え、シェルは、コンタクト並びに支持体を挟み込む形で互いが固着される第1のシェル及び第2のシェルからなり、支持体の各コンタクト間を貫通する突片が第2のシェルに設けられ、支持体を貫通した突片の先端と弾性接触する弾性片が第1のシェルに設けられたことを特徴とし、1つの部材でシェルを形成する場合に比較して第1及び第2のシェルの形状が単純化され、シェルの加工性を犠牲にすることなく薄型化が図れる。また、突片と弾性片との接触によって第1及び第2のシェル間の導通を確実なものとし、グランドとの接続状態をさらに安定させることができる。
