Description

【0001】

The present invention relates to an air cleaner that purifies air taken in from an air inlet and supplies the air to an engine or the like.
[0002]
[Prior art]
For example, an air cleaner is provided in an intake system of a vehicle engine, and takes in air from an air inlet, removes fine dust and dust in the air, cleans it, and supplies it to the engine. . As the air cleaner performs the air filtering action in this way, large dust does not enter the cylinder, and the progress of wear of the cylinder is suppressed, thereby preventing the engine life from being reduced.
[0003]
Such an air cleaner usually has a pipe member connected to the air outlet and extending into the cleaner case, and the pipe member attached to the air discharge port of the filter element and attached to the filter element in the cleaner case. And a seal member (packing) having an opening into which is inserted. The seal member is provided with a conical lip portion that extends from the opening into which the tube member is inserted to the outside of the filter element. The filter element is mounted in the cleaner case, and the tube member is the seal member. In the state of being located in the opening, the lip portion of the seal member is pressed against the inner surface of the cleaner case and spreads outward to seal between the tube member and the filter element.
[0004]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, in such a conventional air cleaner, if the filter element is removed from the cleaner case when cleaning the filter element, etc., the filter element is swayed on the filter paper or the inner surface of the cleaner case. In some cases, dust, dust, and the like adhering thereto are scattered, and the dust, dust, and the like enter the filter element through the air discharge port, and the inside of the filter element is contaminated.
[0005]
The present invention has been made in view of such problems, and an object of the present invention is to provide an air cleaner having a configuration in which the filter element is less likely to be contaminated by dust or dirt when the filter element is removed from the cleaner case. Yes.
[0006]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The air cleaner according to the present invention includes a cleaner case in which an air inlet (for example, the inlet 24 in the embodiment) and an air outlet (for example, the outlet 32 in the embodiment) are formed, and an air filter provided in the cleaner case. And the air taken in from the air inlet passes through the filter element and is discharged from the air outlet . The inner surface of the cleaner case is connected to the air outlet and extends into the cylindrical communication pipe, and is attached to the air discharge port of the filter element and surrounds the inner periphery of the air discharge port. A seal member having a conical lip portion extending from the opening to the outside of the filter element at the outer end, and the communication pipe on the inner surface of the cleaner case A cylindrical ring-shaped lip protector formed so as to protrude inwardly around the filter element, and the filter element is inserted into the opening of the seal member so that the communication pipe is inserted into the cleaner case. The lip portion of the seal member is configured to be attached to the cleaner case when the communication pipe is inserted into the opening. The inner surface of the lip part is pressed between the communication pipe and the lip protection part and spreads outward, and the outer peripheral end of the lip part is located near the lip part protection part and surrounded by the lip part protection part. Are configured to be protected.
[0007]
In this air cleaner, the lip portion of the sheave member that is pressed outward against the inner surface of the cleaner case while the filter element is mounted in the cleaner case protrudes toward the seal member from the inner surface of the cleaner case. The ring-shaped lip portion protection portion provided is positioned inward and protected. For this reason, even if the filter element is removed from the cleaner case and dirt or dust adhering to the filter element filter paper or the inner surface of the cleaner case is scattered in the cleaner case, the dust or dirt is removed from the air outlet of the filter element. It becomes difficult to enter the filter element, and the inside of the filter element can be prevented from being contaminated by dust, dust, or the like.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Hereinafter, preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. 1 is a partial sectional front view showing an embodiment of an air cleaner according to the present invention, FIG. 2 is a partial sectional right side view thereof, FIG. 3 is a partial sectional left side view thereof, and FIG. 4 is a partial sectional plan view thereof. . 5 is a cross-sectional view as seen from arrow V-V in FIG. 1, FIG. 6 is a cross-sectional view as seen from arrow VI-VI in FIG. 2, and FIG. 7 is a bottom view as seen from arrow VII in FIG. FIG. FIG. 8 is an exploded perspective view of the air cleaner.
[0009]
As shown in FIG. 8, the air cleaner 1 includes a cleaner case 10, a cylindrical filter element 60 accommodated and held in the cleaner case 10, and a detachable attachment in the cleaner case 10 as a water separation member. And an inlet pipe 70 that fulfills the following functions. Here, the cleaner case 10 includes a case body 20, an upper cover 30 that is detachably attached to an upper portion of the case body 20, a lower cover 40 that is detachably attached to a lower portion of the case body 20, and a side portion of the case body 20. And a side cover 50 that is detachably attached thereto.
[0010]
The case body 20 of the cleaner case 10 has a central portion formed in a vertically long cylindrical shape, and a cylindrical element storage space ES for storing the filter element 60 is formed in the case body 20 (see FIG. 5 and FIG. 5). (See FIG. 6). A circular upper opening 21a is formed at the center of the upper wall 21 of the case body 20 constituting the element accommodating space ES (see FIG. 8), and a cylindrical communication pipe 22 is formed downward from the upper opening 21a. It extends and is provided (refer FIG. 5). In addition, a hollow water reservoir half body 23 is formed on the front side of the element accommodating space ES, and an inlet 24 that is an air inlet extends from the right wall 23a so as to protrude horizontally to the right. Yes. An air inflow window 25 connected to the element accommodating space ES is opened on the upper part of the inner wall 23b of the water reservoir half body 23, and the air flowing in from the inlet 24 enters the element accommodating space ES from the air inflow window 25. It is like that.
[0011]
The side cover 50 constituting the element case 10 is detachably attached to the front of the above-described water reservoir half body 23 formed on the case body 20, and in the state where the side cover 50 is attached to the case body 20. The water tank half 23 and the side cover 50 form a water tank, and a water space WS is formed in the water tank (see FIGS. 4, 5 and 6). A drain hole is provided in the lower part of the water reservoir half 23, and an unloader valve 91 for draining is attached to the drain hole (see FIGS. 2, 7, and 8).
[0012]
FIG. 9 shows a perspective view of the inlet pipe 70. A base portion 71 of the inlet pipe 70 is formed in a substantially cylindrical shape and extends in the horizontal direction, and ears 72 and 72 for attaching the inlet pipe 70 to the case body 20 are provided so as to protrude vertically. It has been. The inner surface of the base 71 located on the case body 20 side is formed in a cylindrical curved shape on the air inlet side (inlet 24 side), but is formed in a substantially flat shape on the air outlet side (air inflow window 25 side). In addition, an air guide portion 73 extending to the air outlet side is provided. In addition, a moisture guide portion 74 is provided on the lower side of the air guide portion 73 so as to protrude and extend substantially horizontally on the air outlet side, and its tip end portion is formed in a sharp shape. Further, a root portion of the moisture guide portion 74 opposite to the air guide portion 73 (side cover 50 side), that is, a notch extending between the air guide portion 73 and the moisture guide portion 74 toward the inlet 24 side. 75 is provided (see also FIG. 12).
[0013]
As shown in FIG. 8, upper and lower protrusions 26 and 26 for attaching the inlet pipe 70 are provided at the upper and lower positions of the air inflow window 25 formed in the case main body 20. After the holes 72a and 72a formed in the upper and lower ears 72 and 72 of the pipe 70 are penetrated, push nuts N and N are attached to the end portions of both the protrusions 26 and 26, whereby the inlet pipe 70 is attached to the case body 20. Can be attached to. Thus, the inlet pipe 70 in the air cleaner 1 is detachable from the case body 20.
[0014]
FIG. 10 is a partial cross-sectional front view of the filter element 10. As shown in this figure, the filter element 60 used in the air cleaner 1 is attached so that a filter paper 62 made of a non-woven fabric folded in a bellows shape is wound around the outer periphery of a base 61 made of a cylindrical shell in which a large number of holes are formed, The upper and lower ends are held by disk-shaped fixing caps 63 and 64. An air discharge port 61a (see FIG. 11) formed of a circular hole having an inner circumference slightly larger than the outer periphery of the base 61 is provided at the center of the upper fixing cap 63. A cylindrical sealing member 65 having a conical lip portion 65a that opens outward is attached. Further, a dust cover installation member 66 having a trapezoidal ring shape in cross section is provided on the lower surface side of the fixed cap 64 positioned below the filter element 60.
[0015]
As shown in FIGS. 5 and 8, the filter element 60 is inserted and attached from the lower part of the case body 20 with the lower part held by a cylindrical dish-shaped dust cover 80 opened upward. The dust cover 80 is further attached from below. A cylindrical dish-shaped lower cover 40 opened upward to hold is attached to the lower portion of the case body 20. A ring-shaped groove 81 having a trapezoidal cross section is formed on the bottom surface of the dust cover 80. When the dust cover 80 is attached to the lower part of the filter element 60, the dust cover installation member 66 below the filter element 60 is provided. Is inserted from above. In addition, a ring-shaped gasket holding portion 82 is provided on the outer peripheral portion of the dust cover 80 so as to project outward, and a ring-shaped gasket 83 is attached to the gasket holding portion 82 (see FIG. 5 and FIG. 8). When the gasket is mounted in the case main body 20, it is in close contact with the inner wall of the case main body 20 and functions to maintain airtightness between the dust cover 80 and the inner surface of the case main body 20.
[0016]
Three clamps 43, 43, 43 that are swingably attached are attached to the outer periphery of the lower cover 40, and these clamps 43, 43, 43 are attached to a clamp locking portion 27 provided at the lower part of the case body 20. The lower cover 40 can be fixed to the case body 20 by being locked to the case body 20. Further, a hole penetrating vertically is provided in the central portion of the lower cover 40, and an unloader valve 92 is attached to this hole (see FIGS. 5, 7, and 8).
[0017]
Thus, when the filter element 60 is mounted in the element accommodating space ES, the above-described communication pipe 22 formed to extend downward from the upper wall 21 of the case body 20 is attached to the upper portion of the filter element 60. It inserts from 65 opening part 65a. When the filter element 60 is completely installed in the case main body 20, the lip portion 65b of the seal member 65 is pressed against the upper wall 21 of the case main body 20 from below to open outward, and the air in the conical portion becomes negative pressure. As a result, the lip portion 65 b comes into close contact with the upper wall 21 of the case body 20. Thus, the base 61 of the filter element 60 and the communication pipe 22 are sealed, and the air in the base 61 of the filter element 60 flows efficiently to the outlet 32. 11A and 11B are diagrams showing the state of the lip portion 65b of the seal member 65 before and after the filter element 60 is mounted. FIG. 11A shows the filter element 60 being mounted on the case body 20, and FIG. 60 shows a state after 60 is mounted in the case main body 20, respectively.
[0018]
Further, the lower surface of the upper wall 21 of the case body 20 is provided with a ring-shaped lip portion protecting portion 29 protruding downward as shown in FIGS. 5 and 11, and the filter element 60 is disposed in the element accommodating space as described above. In the state of being attached in the ES, the lip portion 65 b of the seal member 65 that opens outward is positioned inside the lip portion protection portion 29. That is, when the filter element 60 is mounted in the cleaner case 10, the lip portion protection portion 29 is positioned so as to surround the outer periphery of the lip portion 65 b of the seal member 65 that spreads outward.
[0019]
The upper cover 30 is attached to the upper part of the case body 20. The upper cover 30 includes a box-shaped box portion 31 and a cylindrical outlet (air outlet) 32 formed by bending and extending horizontally from the central portion of the box portion 31. In a state where the cover 30 is attached to the upper cover attachment frame 28 formed on the upper surface side of the upper wall 21 of the case body 20, a resonator space RS is formed between the box portion 31 and the upper wall 21 of the case body 20. (See FIG. 5). The air flowing in from the inlet 24 enters the element accommodating space ES through the air inflow window 25 and flows around the outer periphery of the filter element 60. Then, the filter paper 62 of the filter element 60 is passed in the direction from the outer peripheral portion toward the inner peripheral portion, reaches the internal space of the base portion 61, and the communication pipe 22 communicating with the internal space of the base portion 61 allows the inside of the resonator space RS. Then, the air is discharged from the outlet 32 to the outside of the air cleaner 1. Since the outlet 32 is connected to an intake system of an engine (not shown), the air in the air cleaner 1 vibrates by opening and closing the intake valve of the engine, but as described above, a resonator space is located in the middle of the air flow path. Since the RS, that is, the resonance space is located, the intake noise is attenuated, and the intake operation is performed smoothly.
[0020]
Further, as described above, the air that has entered the element accommodating space ES from the air inflow window 25 flows while rotating around the outer periphery of the filter element 60, so that the centrifugal force separates large dust or pebbles contained in the air. The In the air cleaner 1, as shown in FIG. 6, the center axis AX1 of the cylindrical element accommodation space ES and the center axis AX2 of the filter element 60 held in the element accommodation space ES are slightly shifted from each other. A central axis AX2 of 60 is located on the rear right side of the central axis AX1 of the element accommodating space ES (lower right in the drawing in FIG. 6), and the inner wall of the cylindrical case body 20 forming the element accommodating space ES and the filter Since the width of the air passage formed by the outer surface of the element 60 changes smoothly from a wide part to a narrow part, the speed of the air flowing in from the inlet 24 is gradually increased to more effectively remove pebbles and the like. It can be separated.
[0021]
The pebbles and the like separated by the centrifugal force as described above fall downward along the inner wall of the case body 20, but in order to guide these pebbles and the like into the lower cover 40, a part of the ring-shaped gasket holding portion 82 is formed. Is provided with a notch portion 84 (a portion indicated by hatching in FIG. 6) penetrating vertically. As shown in FIGS. 6 and 8, three dust cover support ribs 42, 42, and 42 for supporting the bottom surface of the dust cover 80 are provided on the upper surface side of the bottom wall 41 of the lower cover 40. Since the support ribs 42, 42, 42 have a blade shape bent in the same direction as the direction in which the air flowing in from the inlet 24 travels in the case body 20, the support ribs 42, 42, 42 are separated from the air by turning in the case body 20. Large dust, pebbles and the like that have come down to the lower cover 40 through the notch 84 of the gasket holding portion 82 are collected at the center of the lower cover 40. The large dust, pebbles, etc. collected in the center of the lower cover 40 in this way are unlocked by the aforementioned clamps 43, 43, 43 and removed from the case body 20 to remove the lower cover 40 from the case body 20. It can be discharged to the outside.
[0022]
FIG. 12 is an enlarged view of the vicinity of the air inlet window 25 of the case body 20 in FIG. As shown in this figure, in a state where the inlet pipe 70 is attached to the case main body 20, the air guide portion 73 of the inlet pipe 70 enters the element accommodating space ES from the air inflow window 25 formed in the case main body 20. It has come in. As a result, a part of the air flowing in from the inlet 24 is guided to the air guiding portion 73 and flows into the element accommodating space ES. However, the air guiding portion 73 of the inlet pipe 70 has a filter element whose extension surface H of the inner wall surface 73a is the filter element. Since the filter paper 62 is located at a position in contact with the outer peripheral edge of the filter paper 62, the air that has exited the inlet pipe 70 smoothly flows into the element accommodating space ES. Then, the air that has flowed into the element accommodating space ES in this way flows so as to descend downward while turning around the outer periphery of the filter element 60. Further, in a state where the inlet pipe 70 is attached in the case body 20, the moisture guide portion 74 of the inlet pipe 70 is also located in the element accommodating space ES, but the tip of the moisture guide portion 74 and the air guide portion 73 and moisture The notch 75 provided between the guide portion 74 and the guide portion 74 is located outside the element accommodating space ES, that is, in the water reservoir space WS.
[0023]
Moisture in the air that has flowed into the case body 20 from the inlet 24 condenses on the base inner wall of the inlet pipe 70 (inner wall of the base 71) and forms water droplets. And is pushed to the air outlet side (air inflow window 25 side) by the air flowing in the element accommodating space ES, and moves into the water reservoir space WS from the notch 75 formed in the inlet pipe 70. Fall. In addition, since the tip of the moisture guide portion 74 of the inlet pipe 70 is located in the water reservoir space WS, the water that has not dropped from the notch 75 also travels through the moisture guide portion 74 and collects water from the tip portion. It falls into the space WS. Here, a lattice-like member (for example, a tubular member having a honeycomb structure) may be inserted and attached into the inlet 24 so that moisture in the air flowing in from the inlet 24 is easily condensed. In addition, air that has not become water droplets on the inner wall of the base of the inlet pipe 70 (air that contains moisture) has greater inertia than air that does not contain moisture, so that it does not flow into the element accommodating space ES from the air inflow window 25. Most of them go straight and enter the water reservoir space WS. Thus, the water accumulated in the water reservoir space WS is discharged to the outside of the air cleaner 1 by pushing up the unloader valve 91 and opening the drain hole provided in the water reservoir half 23. Can do.
[0024]
As described above, moisture in the air flowing in from the inlet 24 is separated in the inlet pipe 70 and accumulated in the water reservoir space WS, but not all moisture is separated in the inlet pipe 70. Moisture that has not been separated from the inflowing air in the inlet pipe 70 enters the element accommodation space ES through the air inflow window 25 of the case body 20. Then it flows down. As can be seen from FIG. 5, such moisture flows down to the gasket holding portion 82 of the dust cover 80, and the moisture that has flowed down to the gasket holding portion 82 flows into the lower cover 40 from the aforementioned notch 84 portion. Thus, the water flowing into the lower cover 40 can be discharged to the outside of the air cleaner 1 by pushing up the unloader valve 92 and opening a hole at the center of the lower cover 40.
[0025]
When removing the filter element 60 from the case main body 20 such as when cleaning the filter element 60, first, the clamps 43, 43, 43 hooked on the clamp locking portion 27 at the bottom of the case main body 20 are released. The lower cover 40 is removed from the case body 20, and then the dust cover 80 is removed from the lower part of the filter element 60. Then, the lower part of the filter element 60 is grasped by hand and tilted so that the lip portion 65 b of the seal member 65 adsorbed on the upper wall 21 of the case body 20 is peeled off from the upper wall 21. Thereafter, the filter element 60 can be separated from the case body 20 by pulling the filter element 60 downward and taking it out from the case body 20.
[0026]
When the filter element 60 is tilted in this manner so as to peel off the lip 65b, the entire filter element 60 is shaken and attached to the filter paper 62 and the lower surface of the upper wall 21 of the case body 20. Although dust and dust are scattered in the case body 20, in the air cleaner 1, as described above, the inner surface of the cleaner case 10 (the lower surface of the upper wall 21) with the filter element 60 mounted in the cleaner case 10. The lip portion 65b that is pressed outwardly and spreads outward is positioned and protected inside the ring-shaped lip portion protection portion 29 provided to protrude from the inner surface of the cleaner case 10 toward the seal member 65 side. Therefore, the filter element 60 is removed from the cleaner case 10, and the filter paper 62 and the clear of the filter element 60 are removed. Even when dust or dirt adhering to the inner surface of the toner case 20 is scattered in the cleaner case 10, these dust or dust is difficult to enter the filter element 60 (that is, the base 61) from the air outlet 61 a of the filter element 60. Thus, it is possible to prevent the inside of the filter element 60 from being contaminated by dust, dust, or the like.
[0027]
Although the preferred embodiments of the present invention have been described so far, the scope of the present invention is not limited to those described above. For example, the shape of the air filter to which the present invention is applied is not limited to that shown in the above embodiment, and an air inlet (corresponding to the inlet 24 in the above embodiment) and an air outlet (corresponding to the outlet 32 in the above embodiment). And a filter element for air filtration provided inside the cleaner case, the air taken in from the air inlet passes through the filter element and is discharged from the air outlet. The present invention can be applied to any cleaner.
[0028]
【The invention's effect】
As described above, in the air cleaner according to the present invention, the lip portion of the sheave member that is pressed outward against the inner surface of the cleaner case in a state where the filter element is mounted in the cleaner case extends from the inner surface of the cleaner case. The ring-shaped lip portion protection portion provided so as to protrude toward the seal member is positioned inside and protected.
