従来より,例えば,複写機,コピー機,プリンタ等の画像形成装置では,印字出力するための画像形成部に自動的に用紙等のシート材を搬送するシート材搬送装置が設けられている。
このシート材搬送装置は,用紙等のシート材を収納するシート材収納部と,該シート材収納部よりシート材を取り出す搬送手段とを具備する。

しかし,上述の公報に開示されている発明は,内部構造の複雑な画像形成装置内に,定着装置の熱を集める集送手段やダクトを配設するものであるので,装置自体が大型化してしまう問題がある。また,上記発明は,シート材収納部よりシート材を取り出すローラ等の除湿は行わないので,上述の発明を用いたとしても,該ローラが湿気を帯びている場合には,せっかく除湿したシート材に湿気を帯びさせてしまうことが考えられる。また,上述の従来技術では,発熱手段として定着装置を用いているが,定着装置以外の発熱手段を用いる方が望ましい場合も当然考えられる。
そこで,本発明は上記事情を鑑みてなされたものであり,その目的とするところは,シート材と搬送手段の両方の除湿,防湿を行えるシート材搬送装置を提供することである。

上記目的を達成するために本発明は,シート材を収納するシート材収納部と,該シート材を該シート材収納部より取り出す搬送手段とを具備するシート材搬送装置において,

このように構成されているので,容易にシート材の除湿が行え,しかも搬送手段の除湿,防湿も行える。したがって,除湿したシート材をシート材収納部より取り出す際に,搬送手段によってシート材が湿気を帯びることも無くなる。
また,このようにすることで,加熱手段で発生した熱を,該加熱手段を支持する支持部材に遮られること無く搬送手段側へ流出させることが可能となるし,また支持部材の有効利用ともなるので,搬送手段の除湿,防湿が可能となり,且つコスト上昇を抑えられる。
