Description

【0001】

Based on the driver's accelerator operation, external load, etc., the actually required, that is, the required generated torque of the engine is calculated, and this is set as the target torque, and control is performed so that the target torque is generated from the engine. An engine control device (hereinafter referred to as an engine torque demand system (ETD system)) has been devised.
[0003]
For example, in JP-A-1-313636, a target engine torque is calculated based on an accelerator operation amount, an engine speed, and an external load, and a fuel injection amount and a supply air amount are controlled in accordance with the target torque. An engine torque demand system is disclosed.
[0004]
Actually, in such a torque demand type engine control device, the target output torque is calculated by adding the loss load torque such as friction torque, which is a loss in the engine and the powertrain system, to the required output torque and calculating it as the target generated torque. Thus, the fuel injection amount and the supply air amount are controlled.
[0005]
According to this engine torque demand system, the drivability can be improved, for example, by maintaining the engine torque, which is a physical quantity directly acting on the control of the vehicle, as the control reference value, so that a constant steering feeling can always be maintained. .
[0006]
Further, for example, in a direct injection gasoline engine that directly injects fuel into a combustion chamber, as shown in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 63-159614, the pumping loss and the like are reduced in an operation region of low rotation and low load. In order to improve fuel efficiency by the action of the above, the air-fuel ratio is extremely lean combustion of about 40 to 50, and as the load and the rotation speed increase, the air-fuel ratio is continuously or stepwise increased. A device that performs control is known. Further, this set air-fuel ratio is not always determined as a constant value according to the operating conditions. For example, when the engine is cold, it is difficult to perform lean combustion with a stratified mixture, so that the set air-fuel ratio may be set near the stoichiometric air-fuel ratio. Can be
[0007]
As described above, in the case of an engine in which the air-fuel ratio changes greatly depending on conditions, the direct relationship between the generated torque and the amount of air taken into the cylinder is lost. It is necessary to control the amount of intake air in the form of a set with the fuel ratio.
[0008]
In other words, in such an engine, when controlling the generated torque of the engine for the purpose of controlling the rotational speed of the engine during idling or the like of the vehicle, the generated torque is directly related to the generated torque (uniquely determined relation). A control method in which a target value as an intermediate variable such as a target generated torque is given first, and then the manipulated variables (intake amount and fuel injection amount) are realized, instead of directly controlling the amount of air that does not have airflow. Is appropriate. Therefore, an engine control device employing the engine torque demand control has been considered.
[0009]
On the other hand, when the engine is idling, a completely different control method is selectively used at the time of idling and at the time of non-idling (for example, engine torque demand control at the time of non-idling, and some other control method at the time of idling). The engine control system of (1) is also conceivable, but if the control method is switched in this way, it is difficult to solve the transition of the control so that the transition becomes smooth at the time of the state transition between the idle state and the non-idle state. Challenges arise.
[0010]
For example, when the driver slightly depresses the accelerator in a situation in which the idle torque is relatively large while the vehicle is idling and the unknown load is large and the idling state is relatively large, the control changes from the idling control to the non-idling state. The control shifts to control, and a predetermined generated torque in that state is generated. However, this may be smaller than the generated torque at the time of idling due to a difference in the control method. In other words, in this case, the driver decelerates, despite the slight depression of the accelerator, contrary to the driver's intention, which causes a great sense of discomfort.
[0011]
For this reason, it is preferable to improve the drivability by configuring a control system using torque demand control, which is the same control method regardless of idle or non-idle.
[0012]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
For example, in the above-mentioned Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. Hei 1-313636, the throttle opening (θ0) Is set to the characteristic as shown in FIG. 1, and the fuel injection amount (Tp) is set to the characteristic as shown in FIG. Referring to FIG. 1, if the target torque (To) is constant, the throttle opening is increased as the engine speed (Ne) increases. This indicates that, at the same throttle opening, the torque decreases as the engine speed increases, which is the same as the characteristic of a normal engine.
[0013]
As described above, in the engine torque demand system, the throttle is opened according to the engine speed with respect to the required torque when the vehicle is running, and the supply air amount is increased as the engine speed increases.
[0014]
That is, assuming that the air-fuel ratio of the air-fuel mixture formed in the combustion chamber is constant (for example, the stoichiometric air-fuel ratio), the generated torque is approximately proportional to the mass of air sucked into the cylinder (the mass of air per cylinder, for example, xxkg / cylinder). . Therefore, in order to generate the same torque even when the engine speed changes, the intake air amount (flow rate per unit time, for example, yykg / sec) needs to be given in proportion to the engine speed. Therefore, it can be said that the above air amount operation in which the throttle is opened as the engine speed becomes higher is appropriate.
[0015]
As is well known, the operating conditions of the engine include an idling state (idle state), which is a state in which the engine is maintained at a low speed so as not to stop the engine, apart from a state such as a normal running state. In such an idling state, when the torque required to maintain the idling speed is set as a target value and the torque is realized as an engine torque demand system, the following problem occurs.
[0016]
That is, for example, when the load increases as some disturbance and the engine speed decreases during the idling operation, even if the target torque is constant, as is apparent from the characteristic of FIG. The throttle is operated in the closing direction. In other words, in spite of the situation where the rotation is reduced and the amount of air is required to be increased to recover the rotation, the amount of air is reduced as a result. As a result, the idle state is a system that goes against the request.
[0017]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The invention according to claim 1 has a basic configuration shown in FIG. That is, the engine idle speed control device according to claim 1 is
Engine speed detecting means 101 for detecting the actual engine speed,
Idle speed control means 105 for obtaining a correction torque required for feedback control so that the actual engine speed becomes a predetermined target idle speed in a predetermined idle state;
Based on at least the engine torque required as the output and the correction torque by the idle speed control means 105A target torque calculating means 102 for calculating a target torque to be generated by the engine;
Intake air amount control means 103 for controlling the intake air amount to a desired control target amount;
A control target amount calculating means 104 for calculating a control target amount to be given to the intake air amount control means 103 based on at least the actual engine speed and the target torque. When,
UpDuring feedback control by the idle speed control means 105, a switching means 106 for giving the target idle speed instead of the actual engine speed as an engine speed parameter input to the control target amount calculating means 104;
It is configured with.
[0018]
In the present invention, first, in a normal driving state, the target torque calculating means 102 sets the target torque in response to a driver's request for accelerator operation or friction loss. Then, based on the actual engine speed detected by the engine speed detecting means 101 and the target torque, a control target amount of the intake air amount is obtained. The amount of air is controlled. Note that the fuel injection amount is also given according to the target torque.
[0019]
On the other hand, during idling, feedback control is performed by the idle speed control means 105 so that the actual engine speed approaches the target idle speed. Also, during the idle control (during feedback control), the control target amount calculating means 104 for calculating the control target amount for the intake air amount control means 103 is supplied via the switching means 106 to the actual engine speed parameter as the engine speed parameter. An idle target rotation speed is input instead of the rotation speed. Accordingly, even if the load increases as some disturbance and the actual engine speed decreases, the control target amount of the intake air amount does not decrease accordingly, and the required intake air amount at the idle target speed does not decrease. Will be secured.
[0020]
The invention of claim 2 is
The idle speed control means 105 includes a final target idle speed setting means for setting a final target idle speed, and an engine speed at the start of the transition when the state transitions from the non-idle control state to the idle control state. A target engine speed trajectory generating means for setting a transient target engine speed so as to connect between the number and the final target idle speed.
The switching means 106 sets the transient target engine speed set by the target engine speed trajectory generating means as the target idle speed when the state transitions from the non-idle control state to the idle control state. It is provided to the amount calculating means 104.
[0021]
According to the second aspect of the invention, when the state transitions from the non-idle control state to the idle control state, the control is performed along the transient target engine speed sequentially generated by the target engine speed trajectory generating means. Done. That is, the idle speed control means 105 performs feedback control with the target of the gradually changing transient target idle speed as a target. Similarly, the transient target idle speed is also input to the control target amount calculating means 104 as an engine speed parameter. As a result, the engine speed as the basis for calculating the control target amount smoothly changes without suddenly jumping from the immediately preceding actual engine speed to the final target idle speed.
[0022]
The invention of claim 3 is:
The target torque calculation means 102
First target torque calculating means for calculating a first target torque of the engine based on a request such as a driver's accelerator operation amount;
An engine load calculating means for calculating an engine load such as a load of an auxiliary machine or a friction torque of the engine;
A second target torque calculating means for calculating a second target torque with respect to the engine load;
A third target torque calculating means for calculating, as a third target torque, a correction torque required for the feedback control executed by the idle speed control means;
, And the target torque of the engine is calculated based on the first, second, and third target torques.
[0023]
That is, the first target torque is a target torque to be output to the outside through the clutch or the torque converter. The second target torque corresponds to torque consumed as a load on an auxiliary machine, a friction torque of an engine, or the like. Further, the third target torque is given by, for example, PI control or the like in accordance with a deviation between the actual engine speed and the target idle speed during idling. The final target torque is obtained, for example, as the sum of the three.
[0024]
Further, in the invention of claim 4, the control target amount calculating means 104 includes, in addition to the engine speed and the target torque, a target air-fuel ratio, an atmospheric pressure, an intake air temperature, an intake pipe pressure, an EGR rate, an intake control valve operation. The control target amount is calculated based on one or more of the parameters of the position and the control position of the evaporator control valve. As a result, the control accuracy becomes higher.
[0025]
That is, in a standard situation, as shown in FIG. 1 described above, the target control amount of the intake air amount control means 103 is uniquely calculated from the engine speed and the target torque, but this characteristic is not always absolute. Not something. Accordingly, information such as the target air-fuel ratio, the atmospheric pressure, the intake air temperature, the intake pipe pressure, the EGR rate, the intake control valve operation position, and the evaporator control valve control position are added as parameters affecting this, and the control target amount is calculated. As a result, the robustness of control against environmental changes and the like is improved.
[0026]
【The invention's effect】
According to the present invention, it is possible to provide a torque according to the driver's intention during normal driving as an engine torque demand control method, thereby providing comfortable driving performance. Since the control is continued by the torque demand control method, the continuity of the control can be ensured at the time of the transition between the idle state and the non-idle state. During the idle control, when calculating the control target amount of the intake air amount, the load is increased as some disturbance, for example, by using the target idle speed instead of the actual engine speed to increase the engine speed. Even when the number decreases, the control target amount of the intake air amount does not decrease, and the intake air amount necessary for the target idle speed is secured. Therefore, it is possible to achieve both the securing of the idle control performance and the engine torque demand control.
[0027]
According to the second aspect of the present invention, when transitioning from the non-idle state to the idle state, a transitional target engine speed is given so as to smoothly connect the engine speed at the start of the transition to the final target idle speed. Therefore, it is possible to prevent a step-like change in the torque and the engine speed, and furthermore, the occurrence of a step feeling. Further, the idle control can be started early.
[0028]
According to the third aspect of the present invention, the required torque of the driver can be separated from the torque such as friction consumed inside the vehicle during traveling, and comfortable driving performance can be ensured. , Stable engine torque demand control becomes possible.
[0029]
Further, according to the invention of claim 4, a required torque can be obtained with high accuracy even when the traveling environment such as the atmospheric pressure changes, and the robustness of the control is improved.
[0030]
BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
Hereinafter, preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.
[0031]
FIG. 4 is a configuration explanatory diagram showing the configuration of an embodiment of the idle speed control device according to the present invention. As shown in this figure, a cylinder 9 is formed inside a cylinder block 8, and a combustion chamber 10 is defined by a piston 11 slidably fitted therein. An intake port 6 and an exhaust port 7 are connected to the combustion chamber 10, and an intake valve 13 and an exhaust valve 14 for opening and closing the intake port 6 and the exhaust port 7, respectively, are provided. In addition, an electromagnetic fuel injection valve 15 is mounted above the cylinder 9 so as to inject fuel directly into the combustion chamber 10. An intake passage 5 is connected to an upstream side of the intake port 6 via an intake collector 5a.
[0032]
Although this embodiment shows an example of a direct injection type gasoline engine in which fuel is directly injected into the combustion chamber 10 by a fuel injection valve 15, a port injection gasoline engine in which a fuel injection valve is arranged at an intake port 6 is shown. However, the present invention can be similarly applied.
[0033]
In response to a command signal from the controller 19, the fuel injection valve 15 forms a homogeneous mixture by performing fuel injection during an intake stroke, for example, in a relatively high load region, and during a compression stroke in a low load region, for example. By performing fuel injection, a stratified mixture in which the mixture is unevenly distributed is formed in a part of the combustion chamber, and lean combustion is realized.
[0034]
The intake passage 5 is provided with, for example, a hot-wire type air flow meter 1 for detecting an intake air amount Qair. The throttle valve 4 for adjusting the amount of intake air in the intake passage 5 is not directly linked to the accelerator pedal of the vehicle, and its opening is electronically controlled by an actuator 30 such as a DC motor or a pulse motor. It has become. In order to control the amount of intake air during idling, an auxiliary air passage 2 that bypasses the throttle valve 4 is provided, and an auxiliary air amount control valve 3 that controls the flow rate of the auxiliary air passage 2 is provided. The auxiliary air passage 2 and the auxiliary air amount control valve 3 can be omitted by increasing the accuracy of controlling the intake air amount of the throttle valve 4 by the actuator 30.
[0035]
The ignition plug 16 arranged at the center of the combustion chamber 10 ignites according to a command from the controller 19. An air-fuel ratio sensor 17 that detects an air-fuel ratio from the oxygen concentration in the exhaust gas is disposed downstream of the exhaust port 7. Reference numeral 21 denotes a crank angle sensor attached to the crankshaft, which is used for detecting a crank angle position and an engine speed. Although not shown in FIG. 4, an accelerator operation amount sensor, such as a potentiometer, for detecting an accelerator operation amount for detecting a driver's request, a cooling water temperature sensor for detecting an engine temperature condition, an intake air Various sensors such as an intake air temperature sensor for detecting a temperature and an intake pipe pressure sensor for detecting a pressure downstream of the throttle valve 4 are provided.
[0036]
The detection signals of these various sensors are input to the controller 19. The controller 19 includes an I / O interface, a CPU, a ROM, a RAM, and the like, and realizes a predetermined function of the present invention by executing a program described later stored in the ROM.
[0037]
Next, the operation will be described.
[0038]
The actual engine speed of the engine is detected based on the output signal of the crank angle sensor 21 as is well known. For example, it is calculated by measuring a time interval at which a reference position signal (REF signal) provided every 180 degrees of the crank angle is input to the controller 19.
[0039]
The target torque to be generated by the engine is calculated from the three target torques based on the flowchart shown in FIG.
[0040]
Step 210 is means for calculating the first target torque tTQ1, which will be described in detail with reference to FIG. Step 220 is a means for calculating the second target torque tTQ2, which will be described in detail later with reference to FIG. Step 230 is a means for calculating the third target torque tTQ3, which will be described in detail later with reference to FIG. In step 240, the final target torque (target generated torque) tTQ is calculated as the sum of tTQ1, tTQ2, and tTQ3.
[0041]
The flowchart of FIG. 6 shows a flow of processing for calculating the first target torque tTQ1.
[0042]
In step 211, the accelerator operation amount by the driver is detected based on the detection signal of the accelerator operation amount sensor described above. In step 212, the actual engine speed is detected. In step 213, the first target torque tTQ1 is calculated by searching the map shown in FIG. 9 from the accelerator operation amount and the actual engine speed. In this example, the first target torque tTQ1 is 0 at the point where the accelerator operation amount is 0 at the idle speed (the target idle speed). The first target torque tTQ1 is a target torque (target output torque) as a necessary output torque output through a clutch or a torque converter.
[0043]
The flowchart of FIG. 7 shows a flow of processing for calculating the second target torque tTQ2.
[0044]
As an example, as shown in FIG. 10, the load such as the friction of the engine has a characteristic that increases according to the engine speed. FIG. 10 collectively shows the friction loss caused by the piston and the cam and the load of pumps such as a water pump and an oil pump. In step 221 of FIG. 7, the actual engine speed is read, and in step 222, the second target torque tTQ2 is calculated by referring to the table from FIG. However, during cold air, the load tends to increase as compared to after warm-up. Therefore, a control map considering the engine cooling water temperature is set in advance, and a map search is performed from the engine cooling water temperature and the actual engine speed. Is also good. Similarly, when the load changes depending on the condition, such as the air conditioner load and the alternator load, the load is calculated from the air conditioner pump pressure in the case of an air conditioner and the power generation amount in the case of an alternator, and the second target torque tTQ2 is determined in step 222. Is added to
[0045]
The flowchart of FIG. 8 shows a flow of processing for calculating the third target torque tTQ3.
[0046]
This is for calculating a third target torque tTQ3 necessary for idling control. In step 231, it is determined whether or not the current state is an idle state. Specifically, the determination is made based on a predetermined criterion such as whether the accelerator operation amount is 0 and the actual engine speed is equal to or lower than a predetermined speed. In step 232, according to the result of the determination of the idle state, the control is transferred to step 233 if the idle state is established, and to step 236 if the idle state is not established, the third target torque tTQ3 is set to 0, Alternatively, it is set to a predetermined value tTQ30. In step 233, the target idle speed in the idle state is calculated. Specifically, the upper and lower limits are set by referring to a table set based on the engine cooling water temperature, and using the ND range of the automatic transmission. In step 234, a deviation between the target idle speed and the actual engine speed is calculated. In step 235, a third target torque tTQ3 is calculated as a torque to be corrected by PI control or the like based on the difference. The feedback control is performed by the third target torque tTQ3 so that the actual engine speed converges to the target idle speed.
[0047]
The final target torque tTQ is calculated from the first to third target torques tTQ1 to tTQ3 obtained as described above.
[0048]
As described above, the variable control of the intake air amount of the engine is realized by controlling the opening of the throttle valve 4 via the actuator 30 including a DC motor or the like. At the time of idling, the auxiliary air amount control valve 3 can be controlled together.
[0049]
The target throttle opening of the throttle valve 4 for controlling the intake air amount is determined according to the flowchart shown in FIG.
[0050]
First, at step 310, the operation state of the engine such as the target torque tTQ and the actual engine speed is detected. In step 320, based on the result, for example, after warm-up, a set air-fuel ratio according to the driving situation is calculated with reference to an air-fuel ratio map having predetermined characteristics, an example of which is shown in FIG. In step 330, the target injection amount is calculated according to the target torque tTQ. Generally, the generated torque and the fuel injection amount have a substantially proportional relationship, and based on this relationship, the target injection amount is calculated according to the target torque tTQ. In step 340, a target intake air amount is calculated from the target fuel injection amount, the set air-fuel ratio, and the actual engine speed. This target intake air amount is basically obtained as a value obtained by multiplying the above three parameters and multiplying them by a coefficient. In step 350, a target throttle opening is calculated from the target intake air amount and the engine speed. This is calculated, for example, based on the characteristics as shown in FIG. Here, although the target throttle opening is set based on the steady characteristic, the target throttle opening may be set in consideration of the dynamics such as the transmission delay of the intake system.
[0051]
Further, in the above description, the fuel injection amount and the intake air amount are obtained from the actual engine speed and the target torque. Control accuracy by making corrections using parameters such as the intake air temperature, intake pipe pressure, EGR rate, the operation position of the intake control valve (such as the swirl control valve and the valve timing variable mechanism of the intake and exhaust valves), and the control position of the evaporator control valve. Is further improved. In these correction methods, a correction coefficient is given to each of the characteristics of FIG. 13 calculated assuming that the condition is constant, and the correction coefficient is multiplied by this correction coefficient. , A method of solving a state equation comprising a model of the intake system including the various parameters described above, and the like.
[0052]
Although the basic control based on the engine torque demand method has been described above, in the present invention, the idle state is set when the third target torque tTQ3 for the idle speed control shown in FIG. 8 is calculated. Is determined in step 232, the above-described processing is performed in steps 233 to 235, and at the same time, as the engine speed parameter used for calculating the target throttle opening, instead of the actual engine speed, step 233 is performed. The data is switched so as to use the target idle speed determined by the above. That is, during idling, the engine speed used in step 310 is not the actual engine speed but the target idle speed.
[0053]
Thus, in the idle control state, for example, even if the load increases as some disturbance and the actual engine speed decreases, the target throttle opening does not decrease accordingly, and the target idle speed does not decrease. The amount of intake air required for maintenance is secured. Therefore, stable idle control is possible.
[0054]
Next, a second embodiment corresponding to claim 2 will be described.
[0055]
In the first embodiment described above, when the idle control is started, the engine speed as the basis for calculating the target throttle opening is immediately changed from the actual engine speed to the target idle speed. As one of the idle control methods, the idle control is started from a stage where the engine speed is relatively high, and the transition from the engine speed at this point to the final target speed is performed in a transient manner. There has been proposed a method of sequentially generating a desired target engine speed and controlling the engine speed in accordance with the target engine speed (for example, see JP-A-63-205460).
[0056]
In the case of performing such an idle control, in the configuration of the first embodiment, when the engine enters the idle control, the engine speed parameter used for calculating the target intake air amount greatly changes. In this case, the calculated target throttle opening changes considerably stepwise. In this case, the target torque suddenly decreases, which may be a factor for rapidly reducing the rotation speed. Therefore, the engine speed parameter used for calculating the target intake air amount is not the final target idle speed, but the temporary generated temporary value so that the engine speed parameter does not suddenly change stepwise during the idle state transition. The target throttle opening may be calculated based on the target engine speed.
