2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, polyolefin resin coloring compositions containing a polypropylene resin include a powdery dry color in which a pigment and a dispersant are mixed, and a liquid in which the pigment is dispersed in a liquid dispersant at room temperature. Examples include a color or paste color, and a master batch in the form of pellets, flakes, or beads in which a pigment is dispersed in a resin that is solid at room temperature. These coloring compositions are used properly by taking advantage of their characteristics depending on the application.
Masterbatches are preferred for ease of handling and for preserving the working environment during use. In addition, the performance required as a masterbatch, such as high pigment concentration, small effects on various physical properties such as heat resistance and strength of the thermoplastic resin to be colored, etc., as well as precision molding of polyolefin resin, With the increase in speed, pigments have been required to have higher dispersibility and higher distribution.

[0003] Dispersants for imparting pigment dispersibility of the master batch include stearic acid, zinc stearate, magnesium stearate, aluminum stearate, calcium stearate, ethylene bisamide, polyethylene wax, polypropylene wax, and derivatives thereof, For example, one kind or two or more kinds of waxes made of an acid-modified product or a hydroxyl-modified product are generally used. However, when a high degree of pigment dispersion is required, for example, when a thermoplastic resin is spun at a high speed of several tens of microns or formed into a film, the above dispersant may not be satisfied. That is, yarn breakage during spinning due to poor pigment dispersion, clogging of a filter of a melt spinning machine, poor molding in a film, and the like. In order to solve these problems, efforts have been made to improve the processing method of the master batch and to improve the dispersibility of the pigment by using a powerful kneader. However, the above-mentioned dispersants did not exhibit sufficient pigment dispersing ability to solve the above-mentioned problems.

[0004] Further, with the advent of a so-called high-concentration masterbatch, which has increased the pigment content of the masterbatch, which has been promoted for the purpose of reducing the cost of coloring, the amount of the masterbatch added to the resin to be colored has been reduced. The occurrence of color unevenness and flow marks has become more likely to occur.

[0005] This problem is observed in various thermoplastic resins, but is remarkable in polypropylene-based resins which have been increasingly used in home appliances and automobile parts, and an immediate solution has been demanded. To solve this problem, among the three main components of the masterbatch (pigment, dispersant, and base resin), increase the content of the dispersant, or use a base resin that is smaller than the viscosity of the resin to be colored. Color unevenness has been eliminated by lowering the melt viscosity of the master batch. Further, in order to solve this problem for thermoplastic resins in general, there has been proposed a method of using a polar functional group-containing thermoplastic resin as an aqueous dispersion or an aqueous solution. However, for example, a polypropylene resin filled with an inorganic filler or a resin having a melt flow rate (hereinafter referred to as MFR) of more than 25 for the purpose of thin-wall molding is liable to cause color unevenness and flow marks. The solution was awaited. As a solution to this problem, Japanese Patent Laid-Open Publication No. 5-202234 discloses that it is extremely effective to use a resin composition comprising a copolymer with a dibasic acid. However, even higher pigment dispersibility has been required, and further improvements have been required.

Among the polar functional group-containing polypropylene resins (a1), the acid value is important for the carboxyl group-containing polypropylene, and the acid value is 5 to 60.
A range of 0, preferably 20 to 100 is suitably used. When the acid value is less than 5, it is difficult to obtain an aqueous solution, and it is difficult to obtain good pigment dispersibility and color developability. The acid value is 60
If it exceeds 0, it tends to absorb moisture, causing not only silver stalk and foaming on the surface of the molded product, but also adversely affect the weather resistance and heat resistance of the resin to be colored.

The aqueous solution (a1) of the polar functional group-containing polypropylene resin in the present invention is a means for causing water to intervene in the resin molecules, and it is not always necessary to neutralize and make the aqueous resin aqueous. That is, a resin which is hardly made water-soluble is easily made water-soluble by neutralizing, and a resin which is not easily made water-soluble can be made water-free simply by refluxing and stirring with warm water. The use of the neutralizing agent does not adversely affect the mechanical properties of the colored molded product, the dispersion of the pigment, and the like.

The polypropylene resin (c) used in the present invention is preferably compatible with the propylene resin to be colored. Specifically, the homopolymer described in the section of the polar functional group-containing polypropylene resin (a1),
Copolymers, homopolymers, copolymers obtained by adding a polar functional group to the copolymer, and polar functional group-containing copolymers are used, and one or more of these are used.
The difference between the polypropylene resin (c) and the polar functional group-containing polypropylene resin (a1) is that the polypropylene resin (c) does not require a polar functional group,
That is, propylene homopolymer (polypropylene),
The point is that those having no polar functional group, such as a copolymer of propylene and ethylene, can also be used. The polypropylene resin (c) used in the present invention desirably contains a propylene unit in an amount of 5% by weight or more. If it is less than 5% by weight, the compatibility with (a) and the polypropylene to be colored becomes poor, and the polypropylene resin (c) may cause phase separation.

The resin composition of the present invention is obtained by kneading and dehydrating an aqueous dispersion of a polypropylene resin and / or an aqueous solution of a polypropylene resin (a) and a pigment (b), or an aqueous dispersion of a polypropylene resin and / or a polypropylene. A water-based resin aqueous solution (a), a pigment (b) and a polypropylene-based resin (c) are kneaded and dewatered.
It is desirable to use 1 to 90% by weight and (b) 0.01 to 90% by weight, and when (c) is used, the amount used is 1
It is preferably about 90% by weight. (A) is 1% by weight
If the amount is less than the above, (a) cannot sufficiently cover the pigment (b), and the dispersion of the (b) in the polypropylene to be colored becomes insufficient. Because of the increase, adverse effects may occur during the kneading and dehydrating processes. On the other hand, if the content of (b) is less than 0.01% by weight, it is difficult to obtain a high-concentration masterbatch, while if it is more than 90% by weight, (a) and (c) become relatively small (b) ) May be insufficiently dispersed, adversely affecting mechanical properties and the like.

In the resin composition of the present invention, the surface of the pigment (b) contains a polar functional group because the aqueous dispersion of the polypropylene resin and / or the aqueous solution of the polypropylene resin (a) has a high affinity for the pigment (b). Since the polypropylene resin (a1) is coated, when the resin composition is mixed and kneaded with the object to be colored, the dispersibility and the coloring power of the pigment with respect to the object to be colored are improved. When the resin composition of the present invention is used, the use of the resin composition of the present invention is more effective than the use of a conventional resin composition in which a polar functional group-containing polypropylene resin (a1) and a pigment (b) are simply mixed. The pigment is excellent in dispersibility and coloring power because the polar functional group-containing polypropylene resin (a1) is dissolved or dispersed in an aqueous medium, and (a1) is present in a molecular state in an aqueous medium. It is considered that a polar bond was easily formed between the film and b).

Furthermore, when the polypropylene resin and its derivative (c) are used in the present invention, (c) becomes a protective colloid around (a1) and (b) where polar bonds are easily formed. It is considered that the dispersibility and coloring power of the pigment were further improved because of the wrapping structure.

[Comparative Example 2] Instead of the aqueous resin dispersion used in Example 6, Production Example 6 was used.
A masterbatch (1) was obtained in the same composition and method as in Example 6, except that the α-olefin / maleic anhydride copolymer obtained in the above was used. At this time, remarkable strand breakage and pulsation occurred, and it was not possible to continuously and smoothly obtain a good masterbatch having a pellet shape. Subsequently, Examples 1 to
Spinning was performed in the same manner as in No. 4, but the yarn was broken due to clogging. Further, a master batch (2) was obtained in the same manner as in Examples 1 to 4, and various evaluations were performed in the same manner as in Examples 1 to 4, and the results are shown in Table 1.

Comparative Example 3 Production Example 7 was used instead of the aqueous resin dispersion used in Example 9.
A masterbatch (1) was obtained with the same composition and method as in Example 6 except for the aqueous resin dispersion of Example 6. At this time, although a slight pulsating flow occurred, a master batch could be obtained without causing strand breakage. Subsequently, spinning was performed in the same manner as in Examples 1 to 4, but yarn breakage due to clogging occurred. Also, in the same manner as in Examples 1 to 4,
(2) was obtained, and various evaluations were made in the same manner as in Examples 1 to 4. The results are shown in Table 1.

Comparative Example 4 Instead of the aqueous resin dispersion used in Example 11, a vinyl chloride / vinyl acetate / maleic anhydride copolymer “Vinylite VMCH” (manufactured by Union Carbide Co., Ltd.) was used.
Otherwise, a masterbatch was obtained in the same composition and method as in Example 6. At this time, remarkable strand breakage occurred, and it was not possible to obtain a master batch having a good pellet shape continuously and smoothly. Subsequently, spinning was performed in the same manner as in Examples 1 to 4, but yarn breakage due to clogging occurred. In addition, various evaluations were performed using the obtained master batch in the same manner as in Examples 1 to 4, and the results are shown in Table 1.

The resin composition of the present invention has excellent pigment dispersibility with respect to a polypropylene resin despite having a very high pigment content, and is useful for coloring textile products which require a high degree of pigment dispersion. It has a great effect on its coloring power and processability. Conventionally, uniform coloring with a master batch is difficult, and physical properties such as mechanical properties and heat resistance are particularly important. For coloring of a polypropylene resin composition containing a high proportion of an inorganic filler or a fiber reinforcing material, Is also very effective and enables coloring without color unevenness.
