Abstract

To provide a clothes drying tool that is easy to assemble, can be installed even in a small room, and can be used to hang laundry safely without risk of falling over due to contact or the like.

Description

This invention relates to a clothes drying device, and more specifically, to a clothes drying device that can be hung on an indoor hinged door.

In recent years, an increasing number of people are experiencing allergic symptoms due to the dispersion of pollen and yellow sand. Because allergic symptoms caused by pollen and yellow sand are caused by inhaling pollen and yellow sand contained in the air, more people are drying their laundry indoors, where pollen and yellow sand are less likely to adhere, avoiding the outdoors where pollen and yellow sand are likely to adhere.

Indoor drying has long been known as a style in which laundry is hung from a rope or clothesline stretched across the room, but in recent years, homes often lack space to stretch a rope or clothesline, and as a result, freestanding clothes drying stands are often used indoors (see, for example, Patent Document 1).

However, freestanding clothes drying stands require space to be set up indoors, making them difficult to install in small rooms. In addition, freestanding clothes drying stands have the risk of losing balance and falling over if they come into contact with people or pets.

To achieve the above object, the clothes drying device of the present invention comprises a pair of hanging parts that are detachably attached to the upper end of a hinged door, a pair of vertical frame members that extend downward from each of the pair of hanging parts, and a pair of swivel members that are arranged inside the pair of vertical frame members, one end of which is connected to the vertical frame members and the other end of which is arranged to be rotatable around the one end, and the pair of swivel members are rotatable between a stored position in which the tip is placed up along the vertical frame members and an expanded position in which the tip is pulled out to a position approximately perpendicular to the vertical frame members, and multiple cross members are spanned between the pair of swivel members.

According to this drying device, by attaching the hanging part to the top end of the swing door and pulling out the swivel member to the deployed position, multiple cross members suspended from the swivel members are arranged in a roughly horizontal direction, so that the user can hang laundry using the cross members as a clothesline, either directly or via an auxiliary device such as a hanger. Therefore, according to this invention, the empty space in front of the swing door can be used to hang laundry. In addition, because it is attached to the top end of the swing door via the hanging part, there is no risk of the drying device falling over even if a person or the like comes into contact with it. In addition, because the swivel member is foldable, it can be sold in a compact folded state, eliminating the need for complicated assembly work after purchase.

The clothes drying device according to the present invention has the following configuration as a preferred embodiment.
(1) The pair of vertical frame members are provided with a plurality of pairs of the above-mentioned rotating members spaced apart vertically. According to this device, since a plurality of laundry racks are arranged in the vertical direction, more laundry can be hung out and the space in front of the swing door can be effectively utilized.

(2) At least one of the pair of vertical frame members has a connection assist mechanism attached to the vertical frame member at one end and to the pivot member at the other end, and the pivot member is structured to maintain the deployed position by the connection assist mechanism. According to this device, the pivot member that is pulled out to the deployed position is maintained in the deployed position by the connection assist mechanism, eliminating the risk of the deployed position being unable to be maintained due to the weight of the laundry. As a result, a large amount of laundry can be hung out without worrying about the amount or weight of the laundry.

(3) The cross members are removably attached to the pair of pivot members. According to this invention, the distance between the cross members can be adjusted by attaching and detaching the cross members. Therefore, it is possible to prevent the laundry hung on adjacent cross members from interfering with each other, and the laundry can be hung out efficiently.

(4) At least one of the pair of rotating members is provided with an engaging device that detachably engages with the vertical frame member in the storage position to maintain the storage position. According to this device, by placing the rotating member in the storage position, the engaging device engages with the vertical frame member to maintain the rotating member in the storage position. Therefore, there is no risk of the rotating member in the storage position being accidentally deployed, making it easy to transport and store the clothes drying device.

(5) The hanging part is composed of a hook-shaped member that is removably attached to the upper end of the swing door. According to this device, the clothes drying device can be easily attached to and removed from the swing door by hooking and unhooking the hook-shaped member.

(6) One or more reinforcing members are removably spanned between the pair of vertical frame members. According to this device, the positional relationship of the vertical frame members is reinforced by the reinforcing members, so that the vertical frame members are prevented from twisting or shifting due to the weight of the laundry, and a large amount of laundry can be hung out stably.

(7) The cross member and the reinforcing member are made of expandable materials. This allows the width of the clothes drying device to be adjusted according to the width of the swing door, for example, and makes effective use of the limited space in front of the swing door.

According to the present invention, the device includes a pair of hanging parts detachably attached to the upper end of the swing door, a pair of vertical frame members extending downward from each of the pair of hanging parts, and a pair of swivel members arranged inside the pair of vertical frame members, one end of which is rotatably connected to the vertical frame members and the other end of which is rotatable around the one end. The pair of swivel members are rotatable between a storage position in which the tip of the pair of swivel members is placed along the vertical frame members with its tip facing up, and an expanded position in which the tip of the pair of swivel members is pulled out to a position approximately perpendicular to the vertical frame members, and multiple horizontal members are hung between the pair of swivel members, so that the laundry can be hung out using the empty space in front of the swing door. In addition, since the device is structured to be attached to the upper end of the swing door via the hanging parts, it is possible to provide a clothes drying device that is not likely to fall over due to contact. In addition, since the swivel members are foldable, the clothes drying device can be sold in a compact state with the swivel members folded up, and the complicated assembly work after purchase can be omitted. Therefore, it is possible to provide a clothes drying device that is easy to use even for the elderly.

Hereinafter, an embodiment of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings.
EMBODIMENT 1
Fig. 1 shows the external configuration of the clothes drying device according to the present invention. The clothes drying device 1 shown in Fig. 1 is a clothes drying device that is attached to an indoor hinged door D (not shown) and includes a pair of hanging parts 2, 2, a pair of vertical frame members 3, 3, a pair of rotating members 4, 4, and multiple horizontal members 5, 5, ... as its main parts.

The hanging part 2 is a hanging device for removably mounting the drying device 1 to an indoor hinged door D, and in this embodiment, is composed of a pair of hook-shaped members (hereinafter referred to as "hook-shaped members") 21, 21 that are removably mounted to the upper end of the hinged door D. The hook-shaped member 21 is composed of a metal plate material with its tip 21a bent into an approximately U-shape, and the U-shaped hook part 21c formed on the tip 21a has a shape and dimensions that allow it to be fitted to the upper end of the hinged door D. The hanging part 2 is not limited to the shape shown in the figure, as long as it has a shape and structure that allows it to be removably mounted to the upper end of the hinged door D.

The vertical frame member 3 is a rod-shaped member extending downward from each of the pair of hanging parts 2, 2, and in this embodiment is composed of a metal pipe (hereinafter referred to as the "vertical frame pipe") 31 with a cross section that is approximately flattened ellipse. As shown in Figure 1, a pair of vertical frame pipes 31 are arranged on the left and right with a predetermined distance between them. When arranged, the vertical frame pipes 31, 31 are arranged so that the flat surfaces formed on the outer periphery face each other.

Between the pair of vertical pipes 31, 31, a reinforcing member 6 is provided to define the distance between the vertical pipes 31, 31 and to reinforce the strength of the drying device 1. In the illustrated example, a metal pipe with a substantially circular cross section (hereinafter referred to as a "reinforcing pipe") 61 is used as the reinforcing member 6, and this reinforcing pipe 61 is hung across the upper ends 31a of the vertical pipes 31, 31. The reason why the reinforcing pipe 61 is placed at the upper end 31a of the vertical pipe 31 is to prevent the tip of the rotating member 4 from interfering with the reinforcing pipe 61 when the rotating member 4 described later is folded and placed in the storage position (see FIG. 4). Therefore, the position and number of the reinforcing pipes 61 can be changed as appropriate within the range where the rotating member 4 and the reinforcing pipe 61 do not interfere with each other.

When installing the reinforcing pipe 61, a pipe mounting fixture 7 is provided on the upper end 31a of each vertical frame pipe 31, 31 to detachably mount the reinforcing pipe 61. The pipe mounting fixture 7 is made of a resin member having a roughly U-shaped concave groove that can be fitted with the end 61a of the reinforcing pipe 61, and the end 61a of the reinforcing pipe 61 is adapted to detachably fit into this concave groove. In this embodiment, the pipe mounting fixture 7 has a fall prevention structure (for example, a small protrusion for preventing fall-off is provided on the inner surface of the concave groove) that prevents the reinforcing pipe 61 fitted into the concave groove from easily falling off.

The base end 21b of the hook-shaped member 21 is fixedly connected to the upper end (one end) 31a of each vertical frame pipe 31, 31, and the swivel member 4 is rotatably attached to the lower end (the other end) 31b.

In this embodiment, the hook-shaped member 21 is fixedly connected to the vertical frame pipe 31 by overlapping through holes (not shown) drilled in both the base end 21b of the hook-shaped member 21 and the upper end 31a of the vertical frame pipe 31 and attaching a fastener 8 (for example, a plastic or metal push rivet) to the overlapping through holes (see Figure 3).

On the other hand, the swivel member 4 attached to the lower end 31b of the vertical frame pipe 31 is a member equipped with a horizontal member 5 that serves as a clothesline pole, and is configured as a pair on the left and right corresponding to the vertical frame member 3. The swivel member 4 is configured as a rod-shaped member with a base end (one end) 41a connected to the vertical frame pipe 31 and a tip end (other end) 41b arranged to be rotatable around the base end 41a. In this embodiment, it is configured as a metal pipe (hereinafter referred to as a "swivel pipe") 41 with a cross section of a substantially flattened ellipse, similar to the vertical frame pipe 31 described above. As shown in FIG. 1, the swivel pipes 41, 41 are arranged adjacent to the vertical frame pipes 31, 31 inside the pair of vertical frame pipes 31, 31. When arranged, they are arranged so that the flat surfaces formed on the outer periphery face each other, similar to the vertical frame pipes 31, 31 described above.

The swivel member 4 is connected to the vertical frame pipe 31 so that the tip 41b side can rotate around the base end 41a of the swivel pipe 41. In this embodiment, through holes (not shown) drilled in both the lower end 31b of the vertical frame pipe 31 and the base end 41a of the swivel pipe 41 are overlapped, and a connector 9 (for example, a resin or metal connector pin) that serves as the rotation center of the swivel pipe 41 is attached to the overlapped through hole, and the swivel pipe 41 can rotate around this connector 9.

In relation to this connection, the clothes drying device 1 shown in this embodiment is equipped with a connection assistance mechanism 10, one end of which is attached to the vertical frame pipe 31 and the other end of which is attached to the swivel pipe 41. The connection assistance mechanism 10 is a mechanism that assists in the drawing out (unfolding) and folding (storing) of the swivel member 4, which is rotatably attached to the vertical frame member 3, and this connection assistance mechanism 10 allows the drawn-out swivel member 4 to be held in the deployed position described below.

In this embodiment, the connection assistance mechanism 10 is composed of a metal stay that can be folded in two. This stay has a structure that can be opened and closed between an unfolded state in which both ends are unfolded (opened approximately horizontally) around the central connection part, and a stored state in which both ends are folded in half (overlapped) around the connection part. The connection assistance mechanism 10 allows the rotating member 4 to rotate between a stored position (see Figure 4) in which the tip 41b of the rotating pipe 41 is facing up and aligned with the vertical frame pipe 31, and an unfolded position (see Figures 1 to 3) in which the tip 41b is pulled out to a position approximately perpendicular to the vertical frame pipe 31.

In this embodiment, one of the swivel pipes 41 is provided with an engagement device 11 that detachably engages with the vertical frame pipe 31 to hold the swivel pipe in the storage position when the swivel pipes 41, 41 are folded and placed in the storage position. The engagement device 11 is made of a resin member having a substantially U-shaped concave engagement groove 11a that can be engaged with the vertical frame pipe 31, and is structured so that the vertical frame pipe 31 engages with the concave engagement groove 11a when the swivel pipe 41 is placed in the storage position. Note that, like the pipe mounting device 7 described above, this concave engagement groove 11a is provided with a fall-off prevention structure on the inner periphery of the groove, so that the fitted vertical frame pipe 31 does not easily fall off. In addition, in the illustrated example, the engagement device 11 is provided only on one of the swivel pipes 41, but the engagement device 11 may be provided on both of the pair of swivel pipes 41, 41.

The horizontal members 5 are members that constitute a clothesline for hanging laundry, and multiple (three in the illustrated example) horizontal members 5, 5, ... are hung between a pair of swivel pipes 41, 41. In this embodiment, the horizontal members 5 are made of metal pipes (hereinafter referred to as "horizontal pipes") 51 with a substantially circular cross section, and are arranged with a predetermined interval (for example, about 10 cm) between the swivel pipes 41, 41. In the illustrated example, three horizontal pipes 51, 51, ... are arranged as the horizontal members 5, but the number of horizontal pipes 51 can be increased or decreased as appropriate depending on the length of the swivel pipes 41. In the illustrated example, the horizontal pipes 51 are arranged at equal intervals, but the interval between the horizontal pipes 51 can be set arbitrarily.

When arranging the horizontal pipe 51, a horizontal pipe mounting fixture 12 having a structure similar to that of the pipe mounting fixture 7 described above is used. The horizontal pipe mounting fixture 12 is made of a resin member having a substantially U-shaped concave groove that can be fitted with the end 51a of the horizontal pipe 51, and the end 51a of the horizontal pipe 51 is detachably fitted into this concave groove. The concave groove of the horizontal pipe mounting fixture 12 is provided with a structure to prevent the horizontal pipe 51 from falling off, as with the pipe mounting fixture 7 described above, so that the horizontal pipe 51 fitted into the concave groove does not easily fall off. In addition, the concave groove of the horizontal pipe mounting fixture 12 is attached to the flat surface of the rotating pipe 41 so that the opening side faces upward when the rotating member 4 is placed in the deployed position, as shown in FIG. 1. This allows the horizontal pipe 51 to be attached and detached with the rotating member 4 placed in the deployed position.

In the figure, the reference numeral 13 denotes a sock peg. The sock peg 13 is an auxiliary tool used when drying socks. The sock peg 13 shown in the figure is made up of multiple clothes pegs connected in a horizontal row, and is provided with an attachment portion at the base end of the clothes peg for removably attaching the sock peg 13 to the horizontal pipe 51. In the example shown, the sock peg 13 is attached to the horizontal pipe 51, but the sock peg 13 can also be attached to a location other than the horizontal pipe 51, for example, to the reinforcing pipe 61.

Also, reference numeral 14 denotes a shock absorber for preventing the surface of the hinged door D from being scratched by the drying device 1. This shock absorber 14 is a resin member attached to the lower end 31b of the vertical frame pipe 31, and as shown in Figs. 1 and 3, has a protruding portion that protrudes rearward from the vertical frame pipe 31. When the drying device 1 is hung from the hinged door D, this protruding portion abuts against the surface of the hinged door D, thereby preventing the lower end 31b of the vertical frame pipe 31 and the base end 41a of the swivel pipe 41 from coming into contact with the hinged door D.

Next, a brief description will be given of how to use the clothes drying device 1 configured in this manner.
(1) When the clothes drying device 1 is not being used as a clothes dryer, the swivel member 4 is folded as shown in Fig. 4, i.e., the swivel pipes 41, 41 are stored inside the vertical frame pipes 31, 31 (stored position). This allows the clothes drying device 1 to be folded compactly, making it easy to store and carry.

(2) In contrast, when using the clothes drying device 1 as a clothesline, first, the hanging part 2 is hooked onto the upper end of the swing door D, and the clothes drying device 1 is hung from the swing door D. In this embodiment, the hanging part 2 has a U-shaped hook part 21c, and the pair of left and right hook parts 21c, 21c are hooked onto the upper end of the swing door D and attached. This allows the clothes drying device 1 to be hung in front of one side of the swing door D (for example, the door side facing the inside of the room).

Then, when the clothes drying device 1 is hung on the open door D, the swivel member 4 housed between the vertical frame pipes 31, 31 is pulled out toward the front. Specifically, as shown in FIG. 1, the swivel member 4 is pulled out to a position (deployed position) where the swivel pipe 41 is substantially perpendicular to the vertical frame pipe 31. This causes the connection assistance mechanism 10 to enter an unfolded state, and the swivel pipes 41, 41 are held in the unfolded position.

When the swivel member 4 is placed in the deployed position, the multiple cross members 5, 5, ... suspended between the swivel pipes 41, 41 are arranged approximately horizontally, as shown in Figure 1. The user uses the horizontally arranged cross members 5, 5, ... as a clothesline. In other words, since the multiple cross members 5, 5, ... are arranged side by side on the swivel member 4, the user hangs laundry on these cross members 5 directly or via auxiliary devices such as hangers. In this case, if the laundry hung on the cross members 5 interferes with the adjacent cross members 5, the adjacent cross members 5 can be removed to avoid interference with the adjacent cross members 5.

In this way, by hanging laundry on the clothesline 1 suspended in front of the hinged door D, the empty space in front of the hinged door D can be effectively used to hang the laundry. In addition, because the clothesline 1 is attached to the upper end of the hinged door D via the hanging part 2, there is no risk of the clothesline 1 falling over even if a person or other person comes into contact with it, and laundry can be hung out safely.

EMBODIMENT 2
Next, a second embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS.
The clothes drying device 1' shown in the second embodiment has a modified number of swivel members 4 provided on the vertical frame member 3, and the other configuration is the same as the clothes drying device 1 shown in the first embodiment. Therefore, the same reference numerals are used for the parts having the same configuration, and duplicated explanations are omitted.

The clothes drying device 1' shown in this embodiment is provided with multiple (two in the illustrated example) swivel members 4, 4 spaced apart vertically on a pair of vertical frame members 3, 3. Specifically, as shown in FIG. 5, a pair of swivel members 4, 4 are disposed at two locations: the midpoint between the upper end 31a and the lower end 31b of the vertical frame pipe 31, and at the lower end 31b of the vertical frame pipe 31.

The two upper and lower sets of swivel members 4, 4 arranged on the vertical frame pipe 31 are connected at the base end 41a to the vertical frame pipe 31, and the tip 41b is arranged to be rotatable around the base end 41a, as in the first embodiment described above. In addition, the two upper and lower sets of swivel pipes 41, 41 are provided with a connection assistance mechanism 10, as in the first embodiment described above, and multiple (three in the illustrated example) horizontal members 5, 5, ... are detachably spanned between the swivel pipes 41, 41. Note that in this embodiment, the engagement device 11 that detachably engages the swivel pipes 41 with the vertical frame pipe 31 and the sock clips 13 that hang socks on the horizontal members 5 are omitted.

In addition, the clothes drying device 1' shown in this embodiment is provided with multiple reinforcing members 6 because the length of the vertical frame members 3, 3 is extended by adding the swivel member 4. That is, in the clothes drying device 1' shown in this embodiment, a reinforcing pipe 61 is bridged between the upper end 31a of the vertical frame pipe 31 and the intermediate position between the upper end 31a and the lower end 31b of the vertical frame pipe 31.

In this way, in the clothes drying device 1' shown in this embodiment, multiple swivel members 4, 4 are provided at intervals vertically on the vertical frame members 3, 3 suspended from the hinged door D, so laundry can be hung out in multiple tiers at intervals vertically. As a result, more laundry can be hung out compared to the clothes drying device 1 with a single tier of swivel members 4 shown in embodiment 1, and the space in front of the hinged door D can be used more effectively.

EMBODIMENT 3
Next, a third embodiment of the present invention will be described.
The clothes drying device shown in the third embodiment is obtained by modifying the structures of the cross member 5 and the reinforcing member 6 in the clothes drying device 1, 1' described in the above-mentioned embodiments 1 and 2, and the other configurations are common to the clothes drying device 1, 1' shown in embodiments 1 and 2. Therefore, the parts having the same configuration are given the same reference numerals and duplicated explanations are omitted.

The clothes drying fixtures 1, 1' shown in this embodiment use extendable pipes for the horizontal pipes 51 that make up the horizontal member 5 and the reinforcing pipes 61 that make up the reinforcing member 6. For example, telescopic pipes are used as the pipe materials that make up the horizontal pipes 51 and the reinforcing pipes 61. As a result, both the horizontal pipes 51 and the reinforcing pipes 61 are configured to be extendable and retractable, and the width of the clothes drying fixtures 1, 1' can be freely extended and retracted to match the width of the hinged door D. With this configuration, the limited space in front of the hinged door D can be used effectively and without waste as a clothes drying space.

The above-mentioned embodiments are merely preferred implementations of the present invention, and the present invention is not limited to these, and various design changes are possible within the scope of the invention.

For example, in the above embodiment, the vertical frame pipe 31, the swivel pipe 41, the horizontal pipe 51, and the reinforcing pipe 61 are all made of metal pipes, but the materials can be changed as appropriate. For example, it is also possible to make all or part of the vertical frame pipe 31, the swivel pipe 41, the horizontal pipe 51, and the reinforcing pipe 61 out of plastic pipes. This can reduce the weight of the clothes drying device 1, 1'.

In the above embodiment, the cross member 5 is used as a clothesline pole, but the cross member 5 can also be used for purposes other than a clothesline pole, for example, as a storage shelf for storing towels. In the above embodiment, only the cross member 5 is used as a clothesline pole, but the reinforcing member 6 can also be used as a clothesline pole. In other words, laundry such as towels and underwear can be hung on the reinforcing member 6 directly or via an auxiliary device such as a small hanger.

In addition, in the above embodiment, a metal stay that can be folded in half is used as the connection assistance mechanism 10, but the swivel member 4 can have a different structure as long as it can maintain the deployed position, such as a chain structure with one end attached to the vertical frame member 3 and the other end attached to the swivel member 4.

A pair of hanging parts that are detachably attached to the upper end of the hinged door;
A pair of vertical frame members extending downward from each of the pair of hanging portions;
a pair of pivot members disposed inside the pair of vertical frame members, one end of which is connected to the vertical frame members, and the other end of which is arranged so as to be pivotable around the one end;
