In the event of a failure state such as the position of the lock-up control valve, the hydraulic signal applied to the lock-up control valve is interrupted by the switching valve. Is released. For this reason, hydraulic oil is supplied from the line oil pressure or the like to the release-side oil chamber of the lock-up clutch by the lock-up control valve, the hydraulic pressure in the release-side oil chamber is increased, and the lock-up clutch is released. Since the hydraulic pressure of the lock-up clutch is also increased, there is a possibility that the lock-up clutch may be slightly slipped, and the durability of the lock-up clutch may be reduced.

And when the lock-up control valve is changed by the lock-up control valve changing means to the side that suppresses the exhaust pressure in the release-side oil chamber, the failure determination means changes the state of the lock-up clutch at that time. Based on the above, a failure in which the lock-up relay valve is located on the side where the lock-up clutch is engaged is determined. Therefore, by controlling the lock-up control valve to engage the lock-up clutch, it is possible to prevent a slight slip of the lock-up clutch, and it is possible to suitably prevent a decrease in the durability of the lock-up clutch.

If a failure state in which the automatic transmission 8 is positioned to engage the lock-up clutch 24 is detected, the automatic transmission 14 is shifted by the shift-up means 172 to a predetermined gear, that is, a gear higher than the second gear. Shift up. Therefore, even when the lock-up relay valve 98 fails on the ON side, the output pressure P SLU is controlled by the lock-up control valve 100 through the solenoid relay valve 86 functioning as a switching valve.
The lock-up clutch 24 can be switched by changing the output pressure P SLU . Therefore, the output pressure P SLU is increased to increase the release-side oil chamber 11.
By releasing the pressure from the lock 6, the lock-up clutch 24 can be engaged during traveling to prevent the minute slip, thereby improving the durability.

At 9, the output pressure P SLU of the linear solenoid valve SLU is set to the minimum value. As a result, the control port 130 of the lock-up control valve 100 communicates with the supply port 146, and the first line oil pressure P L1 is supplied to the release-side oil chamber 116, so that the lock-up clutch 24 is substantially released. Stalling of the engine 10 when the vehicle is stopped is avoided.
Next, in step SA10, a command to reduce the output torque of the engine 10 is issued by the shift electronic control device 78.
Is output to the electronic control unit 76 for the engine, the ignition timing is retarded or the opening of the second throttle valve 56 is reduced, and the output torque of the engine 10 is reduced. Thus, even when the accelerator pedal 50 is depressed, the engine speed NE is reduced to the idling speed, and the slip amount of the lock-up clutch 24 is suppressed.

If detected, the automatic transmission 14 is shifted up to a predetermined gear, that is, a gear higher than the second gear, in step SA5 corresponding to the shift-up means 172. For this reason, even when the lock-up relay valve 98 fails on the ON side, the solenoid relay valve 8 that functions as a switching valve
Since the output pressure PSLU is supplied to the lock-up control valve 100 through 6, the lock-up clutch 24 can be switched by changing the output pressure PSLU . Therefore, by increasing the output pressure P SLU and exhausting the release-side oil chamber 116, the lock-up clutch 24 can be engaged during traveling to prevent minute slippage, so that its durability can be enhanced.

In the figure, during travel of the vehicle, a hydraulic signal for positioning the lock-up relay valve 98 to the release side of the lock-up clutch 24 (i.e. switching pressure P SW is zero) is caused to occur by releasing pressure output means 190, and The lock-up control valve 10 is changed by the lock-up control valve changing means 192.
When 0 is changed to the side that suppresses the exhaust pressure in the release-side oil chamber 116, the failure determination means 194 engages the lock-up clutch based on the change in the slip state of the lock-up clutch 24 at that time. A failure in which the lock-up relay valve 98 is located on the side to be operated is determined. Therefore, even if a failure occurs in which the lock-up relay valve 98 is positioned on the engagement side, the micro-slip is prevented by controlling the lock-up control valve 100 and engaging the lock-up clutch 24 accordingly. Therefore, a decrease in the durability of the lock-up clutch is suitably prevented.

A vehicle equipped with an automatic transmission having a lock-up clutch, the engagement side for engaging the lock-up clutch from a state in which hydraulic oil is supplied to a release-side oil chamber for releasing the lock-up clutch. A lock-up relay valve that is switched to a state in which hydraulic oil is supplied to the oil chamber, and a hydraulic pressure in the release-side oil chamber of the lock-up clutch by controlling hydraulic oil flowing from the release-side oil chamber through the lock-up relay valve. A lock-up clutch control device comprising: a lock-up control valve that controls a lock-up control valve; and a solenoid-operated switching valve that outputs a hydraulic signal for switching the lock-up relay valve. A hydraulic signal for positioning the lock-up relay valve on the release side of the lock-up clutch. Releasing the lock-up control valve when the hydraulic pressure signal for positioning the lock-up relay valve on the release side of the lock-up clutch is generated by the release pressure output means. Lock-up control valve changing means for changing the exhaust pressure in the side oil chamber to a side for suppressing the exhaust pressure, and the lock-up control valve changing means changing the lock-up control valve to the side for suppressing the exhaust pressure in the release-side oil chamber. Failure determination means for determining a failure in which the lock-up relay valve is positioned to engage the lock-up clutch based on a change in the state of the lock-up clutch when the lock-up clutch is engaged. Control device for lock-up clutch.

In a vehicle equipped with an automatic transmission having a lock-up clutch, an engagement side for engaging the lock-up clutch from a state in which hydraulic oil is supplied to a release-side oil chamber for releasing the lock-up clutch. A lock-up clutch control device, comprising: a lock-up control valve for controlling a lock-up clutch; and an electromagnetic switching valve for outputting a hydraulic signal for switching the lock-up relay valve, wherein the shift lever is operated to a non-traveling range. Non-traveling range determining means for determining that the shift lever is in a non-traveling range. Release pressure output means for outputting a hydraulic pressure signal for positioning the lock-up relay valve on the release side of the lock-up clutch, when it is determined that the lock-up relay valve has been operated to the row range, When the release pressure output means generates a hydraulic signal for positioning the lockup relay valve on the release side of the lockup clutch, the lockup control valve suppresses exhaust pressure in the release side oil chamber. Lock-up control valve changing means for changing the lock-up control valve to the release side, and the lock-up clutch when the lock-up control valve is changed to the side for suppressing the exhaust pressure in the release-side oil chamber by the lock-up control valve changing means. The lock-up relay valve engages the lock-up clutch based on the change in the state of the lock-up clutch. And a failure determination means for determining a failure located on the side to be engaged.
