As a method of lowering the melt viscosity of the polyphenylene ether composition to improve the melt flow and improve processability, there is a method of blending a different polymer resin with the resin composition, but the method is compatible with the polyphenylene ether composition. The use of a resin having a poor quality results in a drawback that the resin is easily peeled off during the molding process and the surface appearance is deteriorated, and that the mechanical properties are significantly reduced.

The ethylene content in the copolymer rubber is 15 to 85% by weight, preferably 40 to 80% by weight. That is, if the ethylene content is 85
Highly crystalline copolymers with a content of more than 15% by weight are difficult to process under normal rubber molding conditions, and those with an ethylene content of less than 15% by weight have an increased glass transition point (Tg) and deteriorated rubber properties. In carrying out the present invention, reinforcing agents such as glass fibers and carbon fibers, inorganic and organic fillers such as carbon black, silica and TiO 2 , plasticizers, stabilizers, flame retardants, dyes and pigments may be added. It is possible. More specifically, a reinforcing agent is a compound that increases the mechanical or thermal properties such as flexural strength, flexural modulus, tensile strength, tensile modulus, and heat deformation temperature by compounding it. For example, alumina fiber, carbon fiber, glass fiber, high elasticity polyamide fiber, high elasticity polyester fiber, silicon carbide fiber, titanate whisker and the like can be mentioned.

A particularly preferred reinforcing filler is glass, the use of glass fiber filaments comprising lime-aluminum borosilicate glass which is relatively free of sodium. This is known as "Σ" glass. However, other glasses, such as the low sodium content glass known as "C" glass, are also useful when electrical properties are less important. Filaments are made by common methods such as, for example, steam or air blowing, flame blowing and mechanical pulling. Preferred filaments for plastic reinforcement are made by mechanical tension. Filament diameters are in the range of about 2-20 microns, but this is not critical in the present invention. The length of the glass filaments and whether they are bundled into aggregated fibers and whether these bundled aggregated fibers are further bundled as yarn, rope or roving, or woven on mats, etc. It is not strict in the present invention. However, in making the composition in the present invention, it is convenient to use glass filaments in the form of short cut strands of about 0.3 cm to about 3 cm in length, preferably up to about 0.6 cm in length. is there.

The amount of the flame retardant additive is not critical, but may be any amount sufficient to impart flame retardancy. It is not advisable to increase the amount too much, because the physical properties such as the softening point are deteriorated. Suitable amounts of these are: (a) 0.5 to 50 parts by weight, preferably 1 to 25 parts by weight, more preferably 3 to 15 parts by weight of the flame retardant per 100 parts by weight of the polyphenylene ether or the resin composition containing the polyphenylene ether. Mixing in a solution state and evaporating the solvent or precipitating in a non-solvent is also effective, but from an industrial point of view, a method of kneading in a molten state is actually used. For the melt kneading, kneading apparatuses such as a single-screw or twin-screw extruder and various kneaders which are generally used can be used. In particular, a biaxial high kneader is preferred.

Crystalline propylene polymer composition (1) Synthesis of copolymer of vinylcyclohexane and propylene In 100 ml of dehydrated and purified n-heptane, 1.95 g of triethylaluminum and 675 mg of ethyl p-anisate were added to JP-A-57-5957.
6.0 g of a titanium compound catalyst synthesized according to Example 1 of JP-A No. 916 was sequentially added, and then the temperature of the mixed solution was raised to 50 ° C. Subsequently, 50 ml of vinylcyclohexane was added, and polymerization of vinylcyclohexane was carried out for 15 minutes. The resulting polymer slurry was washed four times with 200 ml of n-heptane to remove unreacted vinylcyclohexane, co-catalyst triethylaluminum and ethyl p-anisate. Then, n-heptane was removed from the active slurry washed with p-heptane by vacuum distillation to obtain 7.8 g of polyvinylcyclohexane powder containing active catalyst fuel. The amount of the polyvinylcyclohexane polymer per gram of the charged titanium compound catalyst was 0.33 g.

Using 1500 ml of heptane, polymerization of propylene was carried out in a stainless steel autoclave having an internal volume of 5 at a pressure of 6 kg / cm 2 gauge, a temperature of 70 ° C. and a hydrogen concentration of 1.5 vol% for 40 minutes. After completion of the polymerization, 50 ml of n-butanol was added to stop the polymerization, the polymerization slurry was taken out, and the polymerization powder and the solvent were separated by filtration. The polymer powder was washed with 500 ml of 1N hydrochloric acid, and then washed with methanol until the washing solution became neutral.
