Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 産業上の利用分野 本発明は、FRP材料と加硫ゴムとを接着剤により相互
に接合する方法に関する。
従来の技術とその課題 金属材料と加硫ゴムとを接着剤により接合する方法と
しては、例えば特公昭59−19018号公報に示されている
ように接着剤が塗布された金属材料に加硫ゴムを圧着さ
せた上で、金属材料を160〜250℃で且つ0.5〜3.0秒の温
度および時間範囲内での選択された組み合わせによって
得られる加熱条件下で加熱することによって発熱させて
接着する技術が知られている。
一方、近年ではFRP材料（GFRPあるいはCFRP等）の機
械的強度の著しい向上により、特定の分野においては金
属材料に代わってFRP製の構造体が用いられつつある。
しかしながら、このFRP材料に対して加硫ゴム材料を
接着させる必要がある場合、上記の金属と加硫ゴムとの
接着技術をそのまま適用することが困難で、しかもFRP
材料と加硫ゴムとの接着技術が確立されていないため
に、機械的強度の面では金属からFRP材料への代替が十
分に可能であるにもかかわらず、上記の接合部分の強度
の信頼性欠如のためにFRPへの代替化を困難なものにし
ている。この現象は例えば実開昭57−39825号公報に示
されているように車両用プロペラシャフトのFRP製チュ
ーブとその両端の金属製のフランクジョークとをゴム製
の緩衝材を介して結合する場合に特に著しい。
すなわち、FRP材料と加硫ゴムとを接着するにあた
り、FRP全体を加熱するとFRPの機能が極端に劣化し、特
に機械的強度と形状寸法精度の低下を伴うためにきわめ
て実用性に乏しい。また、FRP材料と加硫ゴムとの接着
に、加熱しないで済むいわゆる常温接着型の接着剤を用
いることも可能ではあるが、接着後の外部環境温度が10
0℃以上の高温になると急激に接着強度が低下し、特に
機械構造物の接着にはその接着強度の信頼性欠如のため
に採用することができない。
本発明は以上のような問題点に鑑みてなされたもの
で、その目的とするところは、FRP材料と加硫ゴムとの
接着にあたり、FRP材料および加硫ゴムの機能劣化を招
くことなく、接着強度およびその信頼性を大幅に向上さ
せることができる接合方法を提供することにある。
課題を解決するための手段 本発明は、FRP材料と加硫ゴムとを接着剤により相互
に接合するにあたり、FRP材料と加硫ゴムとの間に誘電
材料、導電性材料、強磁性体材料のうちの少なくともい
ずれか一つを接着剤とともに挾んでFRP材料と加硫ゴム
とを圧着させ、この圧着部を高周波加熱法により発熱さ
せて接合するものである。
また本発明の他の形態として、FRP材料と加硫ゴムと
の間に導電性材料を接着剤とともに挾んでFRP材料と加
硫ゴムとを圧着させ、前記導電性材料に通電して圧着部
を発熱させることにより接合することもできる。
FRP材料としてはエポキシ系のGFRPやCFRPのほか、ア
ラミド繊維を強化繊維にもつものも使用できる。加硫ゴ
ムとしては天然ゴム（NR）のほか、SBR、BR、EPDM、CR
さらにはそれらの混合物およびその他の合成ゴムを用い
ることができる。
接着剤としては例えばハロゲン化ゴム系接着剤、フェ
ノール系接着剤、イソシアネート系接着剤等を用いるも
のとし、この接着剤のなかに誘電材料、導電性材料、強
磁性体材料のうちの少なくともいずれか一つを予め混入
させるか、あるいは少なくともいずれか一つの材料を例
えば導電性塗料のように所定のバインダと混合した上で
接着剤層と重ね合わせるように塗布する。
誘電材料の具体的なものとしてはチタン酸バリウムの
粉末のほか、ポリアクリロニトリル、ポリ塩化ビニル等
の高分子材料があげられ、また導電性材料としては例え
ばカーボンブラック、アルミニウム粉末、銅粉、導電性
塗料のほか、アルミニウム、クロム、ニッケル、ステン
レスなどの金属の箔あるいはテープ状のものをそのまま
用いてもよく、さらにアルミニウム、亜鉛等を接合面に
予め蒸着あるいは溶射によって付着させてもよい。強磁
性体材料としては例えば鉄、ニッケル、コバルト、フェ
ライトなどの粉末のほか、それらの箔あるいはテープ状
のものを用いることもできる。
作用 本発明によると、FRP材料または加硫ゴムの接合面
に、誘電材料、導電性材料、強磁性体材料のうちの少な
くいずれか一つを例えば接着剤とともに塗布し、FRP材
料と加硫ゴムとを圧着させた上で高周波加熱法または通
電によって加熱する。その結果、誘電材料を含む場合に
は誘電加熱により、強磁性体材料を含む場合には誘導加
熱により、また導電性材料を含む場合には通電によりそ
れぞれ誘電材料、強磁性体材料または導電性材料が発熱
体として発熱することから、それにより接着剤が接着可
能温度まで加熱されてFRP材料と加硫ゴムとが強固に接
着される。
この時、上記の誘電材料、導電性材料または強磁性体
材料が発熱体として接合部の内部から発熱するので温度
上昇が速く、しかも加熱されるのは接着剤のほかFRP材
料と加硫ゴムの各接合面のごく一部だけであるので、FR
P材料や加硫ゴムの機能劣化を招くことがない。
実施例 第１図は本発明の第１の実施例を示す図で、１はエポ
キシ系のFRP材料、２は接着剤層、３は加硫ゴム、は高
周波加熱装置のコイルである。FRP材料１と加硫ゴム３
とを接着剤２により接合するにあたり、接着剤２の中に
所定の配合割合で鉄、ニッケル、コバルト、フェライト
に代表されるような強磁性体材料５の粉末を予め配合し
ておき、この強磁性体材料５を含む接着剤２をFRP材料
１の接合面1aに塗布する。
そして、接着剤２に対し加硫ゴム３を圧着させた上
で、高周波加熱装置のコイル４により例えば10MHz以下
の条件で加熱する。これにより、強磁性体材料５を含む
接着剤２が誘導加熱により内部から発熱し、接着剤２が
接着可能温度で速やかに上昇してFRP材料１と加硫ゴム
３とが接着される。
この時、接着剤２の発熱に伴って加熱されるのはFRP
材料１および加硫ゴム３のうち双方の接合面1a,3aに近
いごく一部だけであるので、FRP材料１および加硫ゴム
３が全体的に加熱されることはなく、FRP材料１および
加硫ゴム３の劣化を招くことはない。
また、上記の強磁性体材料５の粉末に代えてチタン酸
バリウムの粉末、ポリアクリロニトリル、ポリ塩化ビニ
ル等に代表される誘電材料を予め接着剤２に配合してお
いても上記と同様の接着効果がある。すなわち、この場
合には高周波加熱のために誘電材料を含む接着剤２が誘
電加熱により内部から発熱して接着効果が得られる。た
だし、誘電加熱については周波数として10MHz以上に設
定するのが望ましい。
さらに、上記の強磁性体材料５の粉末や誘電材料を予
め接着剤２に混合させるのに代えて、強磁性体材料の箔
またはテープ状のものを接着剤と併用することも可能で
ある。この場合には第２図に示すように、FRP材料１の
上に接着剤２を介して箔またはテープ状の強磁性体材料
６を貼着し、さらにその強磁性体材料６の上に接着剤２
を介して加硫ゴム３を圧着させた上で高周波加熱装置に
より加熱する。ただし、接着強度の一層の向上を図るた
めに強磁性体材料６に予め多数の穴を形成しておくのが
望ましい。
第３図の実施例は接着剤と導電性材料とを併用した場
合の例を示し、FRP材料１の上に導電性塗料７を塗布す
るとともに、その上に接着剤２を塗り重ねた上で加硫ゴ
ム３を圧着させる。そして、導電性塗料７に対し電極８
を介して電源９から通電して導電性塗料７を発熱させ
る。この場合にもFRP材料１と加硫ゴム３との接合部の
内部から加熱されることになるので先の実施例と同様の
作用効果が得られる。
また、この実施例の導電性塗料７に代えて、アルミニ
ウム、クロム、ニッケル、ステンレスなどの導電性材料
の箔あるいはテープ状のものを第２図と同様の手法で用
いてもよい。
発明の効果 以上のように本発明によれば、FRP材料と加硫ゴムと
の間に誘電材料、導電性材料、強磁性体材料のうちの少
なくともいずれか一つを接着剤とともに挾んでFRP材料
と加硫ゴムとを圧着させ、この圧着部を高周波加熱また
は通電により発熱させて接合するようにしたことによ
り、加熱されるのは接着剤のほかFRP材料と加硫ゴムの
各接合面のごく一部だけであるので、FRP全体を加熱す
る場合と比べてFRP材料の劣化を防止でき、FRP材料と加
硫ゴムとの接着強度の向上およびその信頼性の向上を図
ることができる。

    (57)【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項１】FRP材料と加硫ゴムとを接着剤により相互
    に接合する方法であって、 FRP材料と加流ゴムとの間に誘電材料、導電性材料、強
    磁性体材料のうちの少なくともいずれか一つを接着剤と
    ともに挾んでFRP材料と加硫ゴムとを圧着させ、この圧
    着部を高周波加熱法により発熱させて接合することを特
    徴とするFRP材料と加硫ゴムとの接合方法。
  2. 【請求項２】FRP材料と加硫ゴムとを接着剤により相互
    に接合する方法であって、 FRP材料と加硫ゴムとの間に導電性材料を接着剤ととも
    に挾んでFRP材料と加硫ゴムとを圧着させ、前記導電性
    材料に通電して圧着部を発熱させることにより接合する
    ことを特徴とするFRP材料と加硫ゴムとの接合方法。
