Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 ［産業上の利用分野］ 本発明は、例えば１台のファクシミリ装置を複数のユ
ーザで使用する場合に、ユーザ別の通信量（枚数、時
間、料金）を把握できるファクシミリ装置に関する。
［従来の技術］ 一般に、１台のファクシミリ装置を複数のユーザが使
用する場合、そのファクシミリ装置を使用したユーザに
よって電話料金の支払い元が異なる場合がある。例え
ば、職場で１台のファクシミリ装置を２つの課の課員が
使用し、それぞれの課に通信費の予算がある場合などで
ある。
そして、この場合、どちらの課の課員がどのくらい使
用したかが明確になる必要がある。
そこで、このような状況に対処するため、従来は、部
門別通信量（＝通信料金）の管理機能を持つファクシミ
リ装置が提供されている。
これは、ファクシミリ装置に、磁気カードやメモリカ
ード等に対するインターフェイスを設け、上記カード内
にユーザを識別するための番号あるいはユーザ名などの
ユーザ識別情報を記憶させ、ユーザは自分または自部門
のカードをファクシミリ装置に装着してから通信するこ
とにより、通信結果と共にユーザ識別情報をファクシミ
リ装置内部に記憶させておき、通信結果の出力時に、各
通信にユーザ識別情報を付与するようにしたものであ
る。
［発明が解決しようとする課題］ ところで、上記通信結果はファクシミリ装置内のメモ
リに記憶されるため、このメモリの容量に基いて、記憶
できる通信結果の数が制限される。そこで、通信結果が
メモリの割当て領域にいっぱいになると、記憶している
通信結果を全部印字してメモリ上から消去し、次の通信
に備えていた。
このため従来は、ユーザの数が増え、それに応じて上
記カードの数も増えると、１枚の通信結果レポートに印
字されている１ユーザあたりの件数が減るため、ユーザ
は自分の使用量を知るために何枚もの通信結果レポート
を参照しなければならなくなり、大変不便である。
また、このような不都合を回避するため通信結果記憶
用のメモリ容量を増加した場合には、装置のコストアッ
プとなる。特に、全てのファクシミリ装置が、上述のよ
うに多くのユーザにより共用されるわけではないので、
場合によっては、大容量に設けた通信結果記憶用のメモ
リが大幅に無駄となる場合もあり、画一的にメモリ容量
を増加したのでは極めて不経済となってしまう。
本発明は、多くのユーザがファクシミリ装置を共用す
る場合でも、本体メモリの容量を増加することなく通信
結果を有効に管理することができるファクシミリ装置を
提供することを目的とする。
［課題を解決する手段］ 本発明は、外部記憶装置を着脱可能なファクシミリ装
置において、装着された外部記憶装置の識別情報を記憶
する識別情報記憶手段と、通信結果情報を記憶する通信
結果情報記憶手段と、通信終了時に、外部記憶装置が装
着されていた場合、装着されていた外部記憶装置の識別
情報が上記識別情報記憶手段に記憶されていた識別情報
と一致すると、当該外部記憶装置に通信結果情報を記憶
し、装着されていた外部記憶装置の識別情報が上記識別
情報記憶手段に記憶されていた識別情報と一致しない
と、通信結果情報を上記通信結果情報記憶手段に記憶す
る記憶制御手段とを有し、上記記憶制御手段は、外部記
憶装置が装着された場合に、装着された外部記憶装置の
識別情報が上記識別情報記憶手段に記憶されていた識別
情報と一致すると、上記通信結果情報記憶手段に記憶さ
れていた通信結果情報を装着された外部記憶装置に記憶
することを特徴とする。
また、本発明は、通信結果情報の出力時に、外部記憶
装置が装着されていた場合、外部記憶装置に記憶されて
いる通信結果情報を出力し、外部記憶装置が装着されて
いない場合、上記通信結果情報記憶手段に記憶されてい
る通信結果情報を出力することを特徴とする。
［作用］ 本発明では、通信終了時に、外部記憶装置が装着され
ていた場合、装着されていた外部記憶装置の識別情報が
識別情報記憶手段に記憶されていた識別情報と一致しな
いと、通信結果情報を通信結果情報記憶手段に記憶する
とともに、外部記憶装置が装着された場合に、装着され
た外部記憶装置の識別情報が識別情報記憶手段に記憶さ
れていた識別情報と一致すると、通信結果情報記憶手段
に記憶されていた通信結果情報を装着された外部記憶装
置に記憶することにより、使用者は外部記憶装置を通信
中に外すことができるので、通信が終了するまで外部記
憶装置をファクシミリ装置に装着したまま放置せずに、
使用者は、ファクシミリ装置から離れることができ、ま
た、通信中に外部記憶装置が外された場合であっても、
通信結果情報を外部記憶装置毎に確実に管理することが
できる。
また、通信結果情報の出力時に、外部記憶装置が装着
されていた場合、外部記憶装置に記憶されている通信結
果情報を出力し、外部記憶装置が装着されていない場
合、通信結果情報記憶手段に記憶されている通信結果情
報を出力することにより、外部記憶装置と通信結果情報
記憶手段のどちらから通信結果情報を出力するか、簡単
に選択することができる。
［実施例］ 第１図は、本発明の一実施例によるファクシミリ装置
を示すブロック図である。
制御部101は、CPU113と、CPU113の制御プログラムを
格納したROM114と、CPU113のワークエリアとして使用さ
れるRAM115と、このRAM115内に構成されるラインメモリ
110およびバッファメモリ112と、符号化／復号化部111
とを有し、このファクシミリ装置における画像入出力お
よび通信処理全体を制御する。
また、画像入出力は、読取部100および記録部102によ
り行われる。
すなわち、原稿画像データの読み取りは、CCDセン
サ、原稿搬送系などから構成された読取部100により行
なわれる。また、受信画像データあるいはコピー動作時
に読取部100によって読取られた画像データは感熱プリ
ンタ、インクジェットプリンタなどから構成された記録
部102により記録される。
これら読取部100および記録部102と符号化／復号化部
111との間の画像データの入出力は、１ラインを単位と
するラインメモリ110を介して行われる。また、符号化
／復号化部111と通信回路のデータ入出力は、１ライン
よりも大きい処理単位（例えば所定ページ数）をもつバ
ッファメモリ112を介して制御される。なお、符号化／
複合化部111は、冗長度抑圧のためにMH、MR、MMRなどに
よる公知の符号化／複合化処理を行うもので、CPU113の
ソフトウェアから構成されていてもよい。
電話回線などの通信回線Ｎとの接続およびデータ入出
力は、モデム106および網制御部107により行われる。網
制御部107には、通話および手動制御用の電話機（また
はハンドセット等）108が接続される。
また、通信動作は、操作パネル103を介して制御され
る。操作パネル103は、電話番号の入力のためのテンキ
ー、各種ファンクションキーなどから構成される。ま
た、操作パネル103には、電話番号や時刻の表示などに
用いられる表示器104が設けられている。
さらに、本装置の駆動に必要な電源は、スイッチング
電源などからなる電源部105から供給される。なお、各
部への電源供給も制御部101により制御される。
また、このファクシミリ装置には、例えばICカードか
らなる外部メモリ109が着脱自在に接続できる構成とな
っている。
すなわち、この外部メモリ109は、コネクタ118を介し
て制御部101と接続されるものであり、通信結果等を記
憶するRAM116と、各外部メモリ109の１つ１つに固有な
外部メモリ識別情報を記憶するROM117と、外部メモリ10
9がファクシミリ装置から外された場合に、RAM116の記
憶内容を保持するためのバックアップ電池120を有して
いる。
また、ファクシミリ装置側には、マイクロスイッチ等
よりなる外部メモリ有無センサ119が設けられており、
外部メモリ109が制御部101と接続されているかどうかを
制御部101に知らせる。
第２図〜第４図は、制御部101の動作を示すフローチ
ャートである。
まず、第２図において、制御部101はスタンバイ状態
でS1→S2→S3→S4→S1……のループを繰り返している。
このとき、操作部103より送信または受信の指示がな
されるか、電話回線から呼出信号が来ると（S1）、通信
を行う（S5）。
第３図は、この通信動作を示している。
まず、外部メモリ109が装着されているか否かセンサ1
19にて検出し（S11）、装着されていれば、外部メモリ1
09の識別情報をROM117より読み出す（S12）。
なお、ここでは識別情報として外部メモリ109の所有
者名（部門名）を使用しているが、数字や意味のない文
字列等、個々の外部メモリ109を識別できるものであれ
ば他のデータでも良い。また、この例では識別情報はRO
M117に記憶しているが、これをRAM116に記憶することと
して制御部よりRAM116に書き込む手段を設けても良い。
そして、このように読み出した識別情報はRAM115へコ
ピーする。
次に通信を行い、（S13）、その通信結果をRAM115の
テンポラリバッファへ書き込む（S14）。この通信結果
記憶用のエリアは、第５図に示すように、１通信分の通
信結果（以下、レコードという）が、通信モード、相手
先電話番号、相手先略称、自機ユーザ名（識別情報）、
開始時刻、通信時間、枚数、通信結果、料金の各項目か
ら成り、通信結果用の40レコード分とテンポラリバッフ
ァ用の１レコード分との合計41レコード分のエリアを用
意してある。
次に、CPU113は、センサ119の出力状態から外部メモ
リ109の有無を検知して（S15）、外部メモリ109が有れ
ば、再度外部メモリ109から識別情報を読み出し、S12で
RAM115に保存しておいた識別情報と比較する（S16）。
これが一致すると、テンポラリバッファの通信結果を外
部メモリ109へコピーして（S17）、通信を終了する。こ
のようにして通信結果は外部メモリ109に記憶される。
また、S15で外部メモリ109が装着されていなかった
り、S16で識別情報が一致しない場合は、テンポラリバ
ッファの通信結果をRAM115の通信結果の記憶エリアに記
憶して通信を終了する。すなわち、通信中に外部メモリ
109が外されたり、付け替えられたりするときには、通
信結果は本体（制御部101）内に保存される。
また、S11で外部メモリ109が装着されてない場合は、
通信を行った後（S19）、通信結果をRAM115の通信結果
記憶エリアへ書き込んで終了する（S20）。このとき識
別情報の欄はスペースのままである。
第２図に戻って説明を続ける。
上記のようにS5で通信を行った後、制御部101は再び
スタンバイループへ戻る。
このとき外されていた外部メモリ109が本体に装着さ
れると、これをセンサ119で検知し（S2）、外部メモリ1
09から識別情報を読み出し（S6）、RAM115の通信結果の
識別情報の項目と比較する（S7）。そして、一致するも
のがあれば、その通信結果は本来はその外部メモリ109
に記憶されるべき通信結果が通信終了時にその外部メモ
リ109が外されていたために、RAM115内に残されたもの
なので、該当する通信結果を外部メモリ109へコピーし
（S8）、コピーし終った結果は消去してスタンバイルー
プヘ戻る（S9）。つまり、送信終了時に、外部メモリ10
9が外されているときには、通信結果は本体（制御部10
1）内に保持され、同じ外部メモリ109が装着されたとき
に、その外部メモリ109へ移される。
また、第２図のスタンバイループ中に、ユーザによっ
て通信結果の出力操作がなされると（S3）、通信結果出
力を行う（S10）。
第４図は、通信結果の出力動作を示している。
まず、CPU113は、センサ119によって外部メモリ109の
有無を検出し（S31）、外部メモリ109が有れば通信結果
を１レコード外部メモリ109から取り出し（S32）、これ
を印字する（S33）。そして、次のレコードがあるか否
か判断し（S34）、有ればS32から繰り返す。無ければ印
字を終了する。
また、S31で外部メモリ109がない場合は、RAM115に記
憶している通信結果を印字する（S35、S36）。すなわ
ち、外部メモリ109が装着されている場合は外部メモリ1
09内の通信結果を印字し、装着されていない場合は本体
内の通信結果を印字する。
以上説明したように、本実施例によれば、外部メモリ
109に通信結果を記憶することにより、ユーザが増えて
も外部メモリ109を増やすだけでユーザ毎の通信量の把
握が煩雑にならない。
また、通信終了時に外部メモリ109が外されていて
も、通信結果を本体内に保持し、次にその外部メモリ10
9が装着された時にその外部メモリ109へ移すことによ
り、通信結果の消滅を防止できる効果がある。
さらに、外部メモリ109に固有の識別情報を持たせ、
通信開始時にこれを読み出して本体内に記憶し、通信結
果を外部メモリ109に書き込む際に、識別情報が一致す
ることを確認してから書き込むことにより、確実に通信
を行ったユーザの外部メモリ109に通信結果を書き込め
る効果がある。
第６図は、本発明の他の実施例を示すブロック図であ
る。
この第２実施例では、外部メモリ109は、内部にCPU12
1を持ち、表示部122、操作部123をそなえたカード電卓
型のもので、計算機能の他に電子電話帳、電子メモ帳な
どの機能を有しており、本体（制御部101）との通信の
ためのインターフェイスを備えている。
第６図において、100〜120は、第１図と同じ構成であ
る。
CPU121は、外部メモリ109を制御するものであり、シ
リアルインターフェイス回路124、125は、本体（制御部
101）と外部メモリ109との間でデータのシリアル通信を
行うための回路である。また、表示部122は外部メモリ1
09内の電話番号、通信結果、外部メモリ識別情報などを
表示するためのものであり、操作部123は外部メモリを
ユーザが操作するために、各種入力キーを有している。
この実施例で前述の実施例と異るのは、本体のCPU113
が、外部メモリ109内のRAM116やRAM117を直接アクセス
するのではなく、外部メモリ109内のCPU121の制御を介
してデータをやり取りすることである。
このような外部メモリ109では、本体から外した状態
でも、表示部122によって通信結果の確認を行なえ、通
信結果の管理をさらに有効に行なうことができる。
［発明の効果］ 以上説明したように、本発明によれば、通信終了時
に、外部記憶装置が装着されていた場合、装着されてい
た外部記憶装置の識別情報が識別情報記憶手段に記憶さ
れていた識別情報と一致しないと、通信結果情報を通信
結果情報記憶手段に記憶するとともに、外部記憶装置が
装着された場合に、装着された外部記憶装置の識別情報
が識別情報記憶手段に記憶されていた識別情報と一致す
ると、通信結果情報記憶手段に記憶されていた通信結果
情報を装着された外部記憶装置に記憶することにより、
使用者は外部記憶装置を通信中に外すことができるの
で、通信が終了するまで外部記憶装置をファクシミリ装
置に装着したまま放置せずに、使用者は、ファクシミリ
装置から離れることができ、また、通信中に外部記憶装
置が外された場合であっても、通信結果情報を外部記憶
装置毎に確実に管理することができる。
また、通信結果情報の出力時に、外部記憶装置が装着
されていた場合、外部記憶装置に記憶されている通信結
果情報を出力し、外部記憶装置が装着されていない場
合、通信結果情報記憶手段に記憶されている通信結果情
報を出力することにより、外部記憶装置と通信結果情報
記憶手段のどちらから通信結果情報を出力するか、簡単
に選択することができる。

Claims (2)

    (57)【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項１】外部記憶装置を着脱可能なファクシミリ装
    置において、 装着された外部記憶装置の識別情報を記憶する識別情報
    記憶手段と、 通信結果情報を記憶する通信結果情報記憶手段と、 通信終了時に、外部記憶装置が装着されていた場合、装
    着されていた外部記憶装置の識別情報が上記識別情報記
    憶手段に記憶されていた識別情報と一致すると、当該外
    部記憶装置に通信結果情報を記憶し、装着されていた外
    部記憶装置の識別情報が上記識別情報記憶手段に記憶さ
    れていた識別情報と一致しないと、通信結果情報を上記
    通信結果情報記憶手段に記憶する記憶制御手段とを有
    し、 上記記憶制御手段は、 外部記憶装置が装着された場合に、装着された外部記憶
    装置の識別情報が上記識別情報記憶手段に記憶されてい
    た識別情報と一致すると、上記通信結果情報記憶手段に
    記憶されていた通信結果情報を装着された外部記憶装置
    に記憶することを特徴とするファクシミリ装置。
  2. 【請求項２】請求項（１）において、 通信結果情報の出力時に、外部記憶装置が装着されてい
    た場合、外部記憶装置に記憶されている通信結果情報を
    出力し、外部記憶装置が装着されていない場合、上記通
    信結果情報記憶手段に記憶されている通信結果情報を出
    力することを特徴とするファクシミリ装置。
