区切って複数の空洞室を外筒内に配設する共鳴型消音装
置によって排気ガスの流れを変える複雑な排気通路を形
成する構造の装置が用いられてきた。 【0003】 【発明が解決しようとする課題】しかしながら、複数の
共鳴空洞室と複雑な排気通路を配設した従来の消音器に
おいては、それらの共鳴空洞室や排気通路において排気
ガスの流れの方向が複雑に変化するために排気ガスが干
渉しあって、むしろ排気抵抗を増大させる原因を招き消
音器自体の排気作用を減衰させる問題があった。また、
従来の技術においては、エンジンからの排気ガスを分岐
管を通じ分流し、消音器本体に付属して設けられた別個
の共鳴消音器において消音するような装置が提供された
が、消音器自体のコンパクト化を実現して経済的な消音

導入口を形成する上流側の開口部を、排気排出口に挿設

空洞室を設け、メイン排気管と排気吐出管とのすき間の
排気通路により共鳴空洞室とメイン排気管とが連通され

洞室を連通する排気通路における円滑な排気作用により
排気抵抗の増加を抑制し、共鳴空洞室の共鳴作用により

要な排気通路を流れるエンジンからの排気ガスの流れに
吸引されメイン排気管2に還流し、主要な排気通路の円
滑な排気作用により、その大部分が勢いよく大気中へ吐

される流量の多い排気ガスと強く干渉しあうことがな

に、又は複数の共鳴室を設けたり複雑な排気通路により
排気ガスの流れの方向を変える必要がないので、消音器
自体をコンパクト化することができ、コンパクトな装置
でありながら高周波音と低周波音が消音できる経済的な
