Abstract

[Problem] To provide a furniture unit that allows multiple users to relax and spend time without being bothered by each other's presence or actions, with a storage shelf in between them.
[Solution] The furniture unit comprises a chair block having a seating portion 10, a storage shelf 13 having an article placement surface higher than the seating portion 10, and a shielding installation member. The shielding installation member is positioned between the chair block and the storage shelf 13. The shielding installation member is designed to accommodate a shield whose upper height in the installed state is higher than the article placement surface of the storage shelf 13.

Description

This invention relates to a fixture unit.

A furniture unit is known that combines a chair block with a seating area and a storage shelf (see, for example, Patent Document 1).

The furniture unit described in Patent Document 1 has a chair block with a seating area, and storage shelves for placing items are placed side by side on the outside of the seating width direction of the chair block. Because the storage shelves are installed close to the chair block in this furniture unit, users relaxing while seated on the chair block can easily access magazines, catalogs, books, etc., stored on the shelves.

In a furniture unit where storage shelves are placed alongside the chair block in the seating width direction, users seated on the chair can easily access items on the storage shelves. However, on the other hand, when one user is seated on the chair and another user is searching for items on the storage shelves or using items stored there, the seated user and the user going to the storage shelves are likely to be distracted by each other's presence and actions.
Furthermore, similar problems are expected to occur in furniture units where storage shelves are placed alongside the outside of the width direction of a desk block that has a tabletop.

Therefore, the present invention aims to provide a furniture unit that allows multiple users to relax and spend time without being bothered by each other's presence or actions, using a storage shelf as a barrier.

A furniture unit according to one aspect of the present invention is characterized by comprising: a chair block having a seating portion; a storage shelf having an article placement surface higher than the seating portion and positioned outside the chair block in the seating width direction; and a shielding member positioned between the chair block and the storage shelf, capable of installing a shielding body whose upper height in the installed state is higher than the article placement surface of the storage shelf.

In this furniture unit configuration, a shielding member is positioned between the chair block where the user sits and the storage shelf where the user accesses items on the item placement surface. As a result, a separation space is ensured between the user seated on the chair block and the user accessing the storage shelf by the shielding member. Furthermore, if a shield is installed on the shielding member whose upper height in the installed state is higher than the item placement surface of the storage shelf, the space between the user seated on the chair block and the user accessing the storage shelf will be blocked by the installed shield.
Therefore, users seated in the chair blocks and users using the storage shelves can relax and spend their time without being bothered by each other's presence or actions.

The shielding material may be a flexible article.

In this case, if a flexible shield is installed on the shield mounting member, the discomfort felt by users seated on the chair block when they come into contact with the shield will be reduced. Furthermore, if an item falls onto the shield from the storage shelf, the flexible shield will help to minimize damage to the fallen item.

The shielding material may be an article having gaps that allow light and sound to pass through.

In this case, if a shielding material with gaps is installed on the shielding mounting member, light and sound will be allowed to enter from the direction of the storage shelf towards the chair block. As a result, the area around the user seated on the chair block will not become dark, and sound transmission will not be completely blocked.
Therefore, by adopting this configuration, it becomes possible to provide a comfortable space for users seated in the chair blocks.

The shielding member is preferably a planter into which plants can be planted, and the shielding itself is preferably the planted plant.

In this case, by planting plants in the planter, which serves as the shielding element, the space between the user seated on the chair block and the user of the storage shelf is separated by the planter and the plants. Because the branches and leaves of the plants are flexible, the discomfort felt by the user seated on the chair block when they come into contact with the plants is reduced. Furthermore, if an item on the storage shelf falls onto the plants, the plants can help prevent damage to the item. Additionally, the branches and leaves of the plants create tiny gaps that allow light and sound to pass through, preventing the area around the user seated on the chair block from becoming completely dark, and preventing complete sound transmission.

The shielding member and the storage shelf are mounted on a common base member. The direction in which the chair blocks and the base member are aligned is defined as the unit width direction. When the width of the seating area where one user sits is defined as the unit seating width, the width of the base member in the unit width direction may be set to any number of times the unit seating width.

In this case, since the width of the base member in the unit width direction is set to an arbitrary number of times the unit seating width, it becomes easy to determine the overall width of the fixture unit (unit width) and the width of each element of the fixture unit by how many times the unit seating width they are.
Therefore, by adopting this configuration, it becomes possible to easily design the layout of the entire furniture unit according to the installation space.

Another embodiment of the present invention provides a furniture unit comprising: a desk block having a top plate; a storage shelf having an article placement surface higher than the top plate and positioned outside the desk block in the width direction; and a shielding member positioned between the desk block and the storage shelf, capable of installing a shielding body whose upper height in the installed state is higher than the article placement surface of the storage shelf.

In this furniture unit configuration, a shielding member is positioned between the desk block, whose top surface is used by the user, and the storage shelf, from which the user accesses items on the item placement surface. As a result, a separation space is ensured between the user of the desk block and the user of the storage shelf by the shielding member. Furthermore, if a shield is installed on the shielding member whose upper height in the installed state is higher than the item placement surface of the storage shelf, the space between the user of the desk block's top surface and the user of the storage shelf will be blocked by the installed shield.
Therefore, users of desk blocks and users of storage shelves can relax and spend their time without being bothered by each other's presence or actions.

According to the furniture unit of the present invention, multiple users who utilize the storage shelves can relax and spend time without being bothered by each other's presence or actions.

Embodiments of the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings.
In the embodiments described below, common parts will be denoted by the same reference numerals, and some redundant explanations will be omitted.

Figure 1 is a perspective view of the fixture unit 1 of this embodiment, and Figure 2 is a plan view of the fixture unit 1. Figure 3 is a front view of the fixture unit 1.
The furniture unit 1 of this embodiment comprises a first chair block 11 in which three seating sections 10 are arranged in a row side by side, and a shelf block 12 positioned on the outside of one side in the direction in which the three seating sections 10 of the first chair block 11 are arranged. Each seating section 10 of the first chair block 11 comprises a seat member 20 which is rectangular in plan view, and a backrest 21 which stands vertically upward at a position along one side of the seat member 20. The three seating sections 10 are arranged so that each backrest 21 is in a row side by side, and the upper surface of each seat member 20 is such that a user m1 can sit on it from the side without a backrest 21. The shelf block 12 is provided with a storage shelf 13 and a planter 32 which is a shielding installation member.
In this embodiment, the first chair block 11 constitutes the chair block. The seating portion 10 of the first chair block 11 in this embodiment is equipped with a backrest 21, but the seating portion 10 does not necessarily have to be equipped with a backrest 21.

In this embodiment, the direction in which the three seating sections 10 are aligned is referred to as the "seating width direction." In this specification, the "seating width direction" means the direction that intersects the direction in which the user faces forward when seated, on a horizontal plane.
Furthermore, with respect to the first chair block 11, the direction perpendicular to the vertical direction and seating width direction of each seating section 10 is referred to as the "depth direction," and within the depth direction, the side of the seating section 10 where the backrest 21 is positioned is referred to as the "rear side in the depth direction," and the opposite side is referred to as the "front side in the depth direction."
Each diagram includes an arrow UP pointing to the upper side in the vertical direction, an arrow FR pointing to the front side in the depth direction, and an arrow LH pointing to one side in the seating width direction.

In this embodiment, the furniture unit 1 has a planter block 14, which is shaped like a quarter circle in plan view, positioned on the other side of the first chair block 11 in the seating width direction. The planter block 14 is positioned such that one side of the quarter circle in plan view abuts against or is close to the outer surface of the first chair block 11 on the other side in the seating width direction. A second chair block 15, which is shaped like a rectangle in plan view, is positioned on the rear side of the planter block 14 (the rear side in the depth direction of the first chair block 11).

Furthermore, a third chair block 16 and a fourth chair block 17, which have a quadrant shape in plan view, are positioned on the back side of the seating portion 10 on one side in the seating width direction of the first chair block 11, and on the back side of the seating portion 10 on the other side in the seating width direction. The third chair block 16 and the fourth chair block 17 each have an arc-shaped edge in plan view. The third chair block 16 and the fourth chair block 17 are positioned so that parts of their respective arc-shaped edges face each other on the inside.

The seating areas of the third chair block 16 and the fourth chair block 17 are designed so that users can sit with their feet facing the arc-shaped edge. When users are seated in this manner, those using the third chair block 16 and those using the fourth chair block 17 will face each other, diagonally forward. Therefore, users seated in the third chair block 16 and those seated in the fourth chair block 17 can easily enjoy conversation and other interactions.

The first chair block 11 comprises a support structure 22 that is in contact with the floor surface F, a flat base member 23 fixed to the upper part of the support structure 22, and the three seating portions 10 described above, fixed to the upper surface of the base member 23. In this embodiment, the base member 23 is composed of three square-shaped plates in plan view, and the three plates are arranged in the seating width direction. However, the base member 23 may also be composed of a single rectangular plate that is long in the seating width direction.

The support structure 22 comprises a plurality of leg columns 24 whose lower ends contact the floor surface F, and a connecting frame 25 (see Figure 3) that connects the upper parts of the plurality of leg columns 24. The plurality of leg columns 24 are arranged near the four corners in a plan view of the first chair block 11. Each leg column 24 has a contact portion 24a at its lower end that contacts the floor surface F, and it stands vertically upward from the contact portion 24a. A base member 23 is placed on the upper surface of the connecting frame 25 that connects the upper parts of the plurality of leg columns 24. The base member 23 is fixed to the connecting frame 25 by bolts or the like while resting on the upper surface of the connecting frame 25.

The shelf block 12 comprises a plurality of leg columns 30 that contact the floor surface F, a base plate 31 (base member) fixed to the upper part of the plurality of leg columns 30, a storage shelf 13 fixedly installed on the upper surface of the base plate 31, and a planter 32 (shielding installation member). The plan view shape of the base plate 31 is a composite shape of a square and a quarter circle with the same radius as one side of the square. The square portion of the base plate 31 is formed to be approximately the same size as the square of the seating portion 10 of the first chair block 11 in plan view. The base plate 31 is arranged so that the long side, which is the sum of the square portion and the quarter circle portion, runs along the depth direction. The quarter circle portion of the base plate 31 is arranged so that its arc-shaped curved edge faces one side in the seating width direction (arrow LH side in the figure).

The side of the base plate 31 facing the first chair block 11 is twice the length of one side of the square portion of the base plate 31. One side of the square portion of the base plate 31 is positioned to abut against one end face of the first chair block 11 in the seating width direction, and one side of the quarter portion of the base plate 31 is positioned to abut against one end face of the third chair block 16 in the seating width direction. The quarter portion of the third chair block 16 in plan view is formed to be approximately the same size as the quarter portion of the base plate 31. Therefore, the combined plan view shape of the quarter portion of the base plate 31 and the third chair block 16 is approximately semicircular, as shown in Figure 2.

Here, the direction in which the base plates 31 of the first chair block 11 and the shelf block 12 are aligned (along the arrow LH in the figure) is defined as the "unit width direction," and the width of the seating area 10 where one user sits in the unit width direction is defined as the "unit seating width." In this case, the width of the base plate 31 in the unit width direction is set to one times the unit seating width. In this embodiment, the width of the first chair block 11 in the unit width direction is set to three times the unit seating width, and the width of the planter block 14 in the unit width direction is set to one time the unit seating width. Furthermore, the widths of the second chair block 15, the third chair block 16, and the fourth chair block 17 in the unit width direction are also set to one time the unit seating width.

For the sake of clarity, in the following explanation, with respect to the base plate 31, the longer side adjacent to the first chair block 11 and the third chair block 16 will be referred to as the "chair-side side," the straight section of the side opposite the chair-side side will be referred to as the "outer straight section," and the arc-shaped section of the side opposite the chair-side side will be referred to as the "outer arc section." Furthermore, with respect to the shelf block 12, the side adjacent to the first chair block 11 in the unit width direction will be referred to as the "inner width direction," and the side further away from the first chair block 11 will be referred to as the "outer width direction." Additionally, with respect to the shelf block 12, the direction aligned with the depth direction of the first chair block 11 will be referred to as the "depth direction."

The storage shelf 13 comprises a first shelf section 33 having two rectangular shelf boards 33U and 33L in plan view, and a second shelf section 34 having two shelf boards 34U and 34L that are substantially arc-shaped (substantially arc-shaped with a certain width) in plan view.

The first shelf section 33 is arranged such that the longer sides of the shelf boards 33U and 33L in the width direction align with the outer straight section of the base plate 31 in the width direction. The length of the shorter sides of the shelf boards 33U and 33L is half the width of the base plate 31 in the unit width direction (half the unit seating width). The length of the longer sides of the shelf boards 33U and 33L is approximately the same as the length in the depth direction of the square-equivalent portion of the base plate 31 (equal to the unit seating width).

The two shelves 33U and 33L of the first shelf section 33 are supported near each of their four corners by four support columns 35. Each of these support columns 35 penetrates the base plate 31 and is fixed to the underside of the base plate 31 by fixing brackets (not shown). The lower shelf 33L is fixed to the middle of each support column 35 so as to be spaced a predetermined distance above the upper surface of the base plate 31. The upper shelf 33U is fixed to the upper end of each support column 35 so as to be spaced a predetermined distance above the upper surface of the lower shelf 33L. The first shelf section 33 allows various items such as catalogs, magazines, and equipment to be placed on the upper surfaces 33a of the two shelves 33U and 33L.
In this embodiment, items can also be placed below the shelf board 33L on the base plate 31. The two shelf boards 33U and 33L of the first shelf section 33 are arranged such that their outer long sides in the width direction roughly overlap with the outer long side of the base plate 31 in the width direction at the top, and their front short sides in the depth direction roughly overlap with the front edge of the base plate 31 in the depth direction at the top and bottom.

The second shelf section 34 is arranged such that the outer edges of the roughly arc-shaped shelf boards 34U and 34L follow the outer arc of the base plate 31. The shelf boards 34U and 34L are formed to a constant width. One end of the shelf boards 34U and 34L in the extending direction overlaps vertically with the ends of the shelf boards 33U and 33L of the first shelf section 33 in a plan view. The other end of the shelf boards 34U and 34L in the extending direction overlaps with the chair-side edge of the base plate 31 in a plan view. Furthermore, the width of the shelf boards 34U and 34L is half the width of the base plate 31 in the unit width direction (half the width of the unit seating width).

The two shelves 34U and 34L of the second shelf section 34 are supported by a plurality (five) of support columns 35. These support columns 35 penetrate the base plate 31 and are fixed to the lower surface of the base plate 31 by fixing brackets (not shown). Of the support columns 35 that support the two shelves 34U and 34L of the second shelf section 34, the two closer to the first shelf section 33 are shared with the support columns 35 that support the two shelves 33U and 33L of the first shelf section 33. The lower shelf 34L is fixed to the middle of each support column 35 so as to be spaced a predetermined distance above the upper surface of the base plate 31. However, this lower shelf 34L is supported by the support columns 35 at a lower position than the lower shelf 33L of the first shelf section 33. The upper shelf board 34U is fixed to the upper end of each support column 35 so as to be spaced a predetermined distance above the upper surface of the lower shelf board 34L. The upper shelf board 34U is supported by the support column 35 at a lower position than the upper shelf board 33U of the first shelf section 33. The second shelf section 34 allows various items such as catalogs, magazines, books, small items, and equipment to be placed on the upper surfaces 34a of the two shelf boards 34U and 34L.
In this embodiment, items can also be placed below the shelf board 34L on the base plate 31. The two shelf boards 34U and 34L of the second shelf section 34 are arranged such that their roughly arc-shaped outer edges roughly overlap the arc-shaped edge of the quarter-circle portion of the base plate 31 on the upper side.

In this embodiment, the upper surfaces 33a and 34a of the shelves 33U, 33L, 34U, and 34L of the first shelf section 33 and the second shelf section 34 serve as the article placement surfaces in the storage shelf 13. These upper surfaces 33a and 34a, which serve as article placement surfaces, are higher than the upper surface of the seating portion 10 of the first chair block 11.

On the upper surface of the base plate 31 on which the first shelf section 33 and the second shelf section 34 of the storage shelf 13 are installed, there is a flat surface where the storage shelf 13 is not installed (where none of the shelf boards 33U, 33L, 34U, 34L are projected). A planter 32, which is a shielding installation member, is installed on this flat surface. The planter 32 is a container of a predetermined shape that opens upwards, and its bottom is fixed to the upper surface of the base plate 31 by bolt fastening or the like. The upper part of the inside of the planter 32 is designed so that a plant 45, which is a shielding element, can be planted together with soil. The plant 45 is planted in the planter 32 such that its upper height in the planted state (installed state) is higher than the upper surface (item placement surface) of the shelf boards 33U, 33L, 34U, 34L of the storage shelf 13.
Furthermore, the plan view shape of the planter 32 in this embodiment is substantially the same as the area on the upper surface of the base plate 31 that is not projected onto any of the shelves 33U, 33L, 34U, or 34L. Specifically, the plan view shape of the planter 32 is a composite shape of a rectangle having a short side half the length of the unit seating width and a long side the same length as the unit seating width, and a quarter circle with the same radius as the short side of that rectangle.

Furthermore, in this embodiment, real plants 45 are planted together with soil in the upper part of the inside of the planter 32. However, artificial plants (fake greenery) may be placed in the planter 32 instead of real plants 45.

In this embodiment, the first chair block 11 and the shelf block 12 are connected to each other by bolt fastening or other means. When the first chair block 11 and the shelf block 12 are connected in this way, the planter 32, which is a shielding member, is placed between the first chair block 11 and the storage shelf 13. At this time, the main part of the planter 32 is located between the first chair block 11 at a lateral position on the outside in the seating width direction and the first shelf 33, and a part of the planter 32 is located between the first chair block 11 at an oblique rear position on the outside in the seating width direction and the arc-shaped second shelf 34.
When a plant 45 (shield) is planted in the planter 32, and its upper height in the planted state is higher than the upper surface (item placement surface) of the shelves 33U, 33L, 34U, and 34L of the storage shelf 13, as shown in Figures 1 and 3, a portion of the space between the user m1 of the first chair block 11 and the user m2 of the storage shelf 13 is shielded by the plant 45.

In the embodiment described here, a planter 32 is used as the shielding installation member placed between the chair block (first chair block 11) and the storage shelf 13, and plants 45 are used as the shielding to be installed on the shielding installation member (planter 32). However, the shielding installation member placed between the chair block (first chair block 11) and the storage shelf 13 may be any member other than the planter 32, as long as it is a member capable of installing a shielding whose upper height in the installed state is higher than the item placement surface (upper surface 33a, 34a) of the storage shelf 13. Furthermore, the shielding is not limited to plants 45, but can be any item whose upper height in the installed state is higher than the item placement surface (upper surface 33a, 34a) of the storage shelf 13. In this case, it is desirable that the item satisfies at least one of the following two conditions.
(1) The article is flexible.
(2) The article has gaps that allow light and sound to pass through.

As described above, in the furniture unit 1 of this embodiment, a shielding member (for example, a planter 32) is placed between the first chair block 11 on which user m1 sits and the storage shelf 13 on which user m2 uses items on the shelves 33U, 33L, 34U, 34L. Therefore, a space is secured between user m1, who is seated on the seating portion 10 of the first chair block 11, and user m2 on the storage shelf 13 by the shielding member (planter 32). Furthermore, in the furniture unit 1 of this embodiment, if a shielding body (for example, a plant 45) is installed on the shielding member (for example, a plant) whose upper height in the installed state is higher than the upper surfaces 33a, 34a of the storage shelf 13, the space between user m1, who is seated on the first chair block 11, and user m2 on the storage shelf 13 is blocked by the shielding body (plant 45) installed on the shielding member (planter 32).
Therefore, when the furniture unit 1 of this embodiment is used, user m1 sitting on the first chair block 11 and user m2 using the storage shelf 13 can relax and spend time without being bothered by each other's presence or actions.

Furthermore, in this embodiment, the furniture unit 1 employs a flexible shield (e.g., a plant 45) as the shield installed on the shield installation member (e.g., planter 32). Therefore, even if a user m1 seated on the first chair block 11 comes into contact with the shield, the flexible deformation of the object reduces the likelihood of the user experiencing discomfort or unease. Additionally, when an item on the storage shelf 13 falls onto the shield (e.g., the plant 45), the flexible shield (e.g., the plant 45) can prevent damage to the item.

Furthermore, in this embodiment, the furniture unit 1 employs a shielding body (e.g., a plant 45) with gaps that allow light and sound to pass through, as the shielding body installed on the shielding body installation member (e.g., a plant 32). Therefore, even if an item with a high upper height (e.g., a plant 45) is installed between the first chair block 11 and the storage shelf 13, light and sound are still allowed to enter from the direction of the storage shelf 13 towards the first chair block 11. As a result, the area around the user seated on the first chair block 11 does not become dark, and sound transmission is not completely blocked.

Furthermore, in the furniture unit 1 of this embodiment, a planter 32 into which plants 45 can be planted is used as a shielding installation member, and plants 45 are used as a shielding body installed on the shielding installation member. As a result, the space between the user m1 seated on the first chair block 11 and the user m2 on the storage shelf 13 is blocked by the planter 32 and the plants 45. At this time, since the branches and leaves of the plants 45 are flexible, even if the user m1 seated on the first chair block 11 comes into contact with the plants 45, the user m1 is less likely to feel discomfort or unease. Also, even if an item on the storage shelf 13 falls onto the plants 45, the plants 45 can suppress damage to the fallen object. In addition, since the branches and leaves of the plants 45 create fine gaps that allow light and sound to pass through, the area around the user m1 seated on the first chair block 11 does not become dark, and sound transmission is not completely blocked.
Therefore, by adopting the furniture unit 1 of this embodiment, it becomes possible to provide a more comfortable space for both the user m1 seated in the first chair block 11 and the user m2 using the storage shelf 13.

Furthermore, in this embodiment, the fixture unit 1 has a planter 32, which is a shielding member, and a storage shelf 13, which are installed on a common base plate 31 (base member), and the width of the base plate 31 in the unit width direction is set to an arbitrary number of times, such as one times the unit seating width. Therefore, it becomes possible to easily understand the overall width of the fixture unit 1 (unit width) and the width of each element of the fixture unit 1 by how many times the unit seating width they are.
Therefore, when the furniture unit 1 of this embodiment is adopted, it becomes possible to easily design the overall layout of the furniture unit 1 according to the installation space.

<Other Embodiments>
Figure 4 is a plan view of the fixture unit 101 in another embodiment.
The furniture unit 101 of this embodiment comprises a desk block 61 in which three top plates 60 are arranged in a line in one direction, and a shelf block 12 positioned on the outside of one side in the direction in which the three top plates 60 of the desk block 61 are arranged. The shelf block 12 has the same configuration as in the above embodiment. The shelf block 12 has a storage shelf 13 and a planter 32, which is a shielding member, installed on the upper surface of a common base plate 31. The planter 32, which is a shielding member, is positioned between the desk block 61 and the storage shelf 13. Plants 45 are planted in the planter 32, and when planted, their upper height is higher than the upper surfaces 33a, 34a of the shelves 33U, 34U of the storage shelf 13. At least the upper shelves 33U, 34U of the storage shelf 13 are higher than each of the top plates 60 of the desk block 61.
In this embodiment as well, the shielding installation member may be a member other than the planter 32. The shielding installed on the shielding installation member may also be an item other than the planted 45.

In this embodiment, the furniture unit 101 has a desk block 61 having a top plate 60 and a storage shelf 13 on which users use items on shelves 33U, 33L, 34U, 34L, with a shielding member (for example, a planter 32) placed between them. As a result, a space is maintained between the user m1 using the desk block 61 and the user of the storage shelf 13 by the shielding member (planter 32). Furthermore, if a shielding body (for example, a plant 45) is installed on the shielding member (for example, a planter 32) whose upper height in the installed state is higher than the upper surfaces 33a, 34a of the storage shelf 13, the space between the user m1 using the desk block 61 and the user of the storage shelf 13 is blocked by the shielding body (plant 45) installed on the shielding member (planter 32).
Therefore, when the furniture unit 101 of this embodiment is adopted, the user m1 using the desk block 61 and the user using the storage shelf 13 can relax and spend time without being bothered by each other's presence or actions.

Furthermore, the present invention is not limited to the embodiments described above, and various design modifications are possible without departing from the spirit of the invention. For example, in the above embodiment, a first chair block 11 equipped with three seating portions 10 is used as the chair block, but the number of seating portions 10 in the chair block may be two or fewer, or four or more.

A chair block having a seating area,
A storage shelf having an article placement surface higher than the seating portion and positioned on the outside of the seating width direction of the chair block,
A shielding installation member is provided, which is positioned between the chair block and the storage shelf and is capable of installing a shielding body whose upper height in the installed state is higher than the article placement surface of the storage shelf.
