Description

The present invention relates to a panel material formed from horizontal wooden boards for outdoor use, and a fence using said panel material.

Fences in which panels are fixed to posts and surface materials such as decorative louvers have been known for some time. Outdoor fences made of wooden boards are generally fixed by driving screws or nails into the posts from the surface of the wooden board, or by providing vertical grooves in the posts at both ends and inserting the ends of the wooden board into the vertical grooves.

When screws or nails are driven into the surface of the wooden board, the heads of the screws or nails are exposed on the surface of the wooden board, which can lead to problems such as a loss of design and reduced durability due to deterioration from rainwater.

In addition, when inserting the ends of wooden boards into the vertical grooves of the posts, there is the problem that the posts are exposed on both sides, reducing the design, and when the posts are made of wood, the vertical grooves are exposed to rain and sunlight, which can lead to deformation and reduced durability.

On the other hand, in the case of resin or metal panel materials, a back plate or nut can be inserted into the hollow space inside the horizontal member, and the horizontal member can be fixed to the support with bolts or the like, without exposing the bolt heads on the surface side, and there is an invention known that prevents the joints from reducing the design (see, for example, Patent Document 1 or Patent Document 2).

Japanese Utility Model Application Publication No. 57-157649

However, in the case of a structure in which a backing plate is inserted inside a horizontal member as described above, if the horizontal member is made of wood to improve the design, there is a problem that the strength of the horizontal wooden board is reduced due to the holes for inserting the backing plate, and there is also a problem that the durability of the horizontal wooden board is reduced due to rainwater seeping in through the holes for inserting the backing plate.

The present invention aims to provide a panel material and fence that improves design while minimizing the loss of strength and durability.

The first panel material of the present invention is a panel material comprising: horizontal wooden boards that are long in the horizontal direction, arranged vertically with gaps between them, and have backboard insertion holes formed from the bottom surface toward the top; a backboard that is inserted into the backboard insertion holes and has screw holes; vertical vertical members that are long in the vertical direction and abut the back surface of the horizontal wooden boards; and connecting screws that pass through holes formed in the vertical members and screw into the screw holes in the backboard to pull the backboard toward the vertical members and connect the horizontal wooden boards to the vertical members, and the backboard insertion holes are formed from the bottom surface of the horizontal wooden boards to the vertical midpoint.

The second panel material of the present invention has the same characteristics as the first panel material, but is also characterized in that the back plate insertion hole has a vertical groove that extends vertically and connects to the back side of the horizontal wooden board, and the connecting screw is inserted into the vertical groove.

The first fence of the present invention is a fence formed by attaching a first or second panel material to a metal post, the vertical member being a flat metal plate, and the panel material being fixed to the post by a fixing screw that passes through the vertical member through the gap in the horizontal wooden board.

The second fence of the present invention has the same characteristics as the first fence, but is also characterized in that the vertical members of the panel material are arranged so that their widthwise length is shorter than the width of the posts and they overlap the posts.

The third fence of the present invention has the same features as the first or second fence, but is also characterized in that a number of the panel materials are fixed to the posts in a vertically aligned arrangement.

The fourth fence of the present invention, in addition to the features of the first to third fences, is characterized in that at the position where the panel materials are butted together vertically, the lower end of the vertical member of the upper panel material and the upper end of the vertical member of the lower panel material are each cut out in half in the width direction to have a protruding portion that protrudes the length of the gap between the horizontal wooden boards, and are shaped to match each other, and fixing screws that screw into the posts are driven into each of the protruding portions.

The fifth fence of the present invention is characterized in that the vertical member of the uppermost panel member has a locking portion that locks onto the support post at the height where the uppermost horizontal member is installed.

According to the first panel material of the present invention, the back plate insertion hole of the horizontal wooden board is formed from the bottom surface of the horizontal wooden board to the middle position in the vertical direction, so that the back plate insertion hole does not open on the top surface of the horizontal wooden board, and it is possible to prevent rainwater from entering the back plate insertion hole. Since the back plate insertion hole is formed from the bottom surface of the horizontally long horizontal wooden board to the middle position in the vertical direction, it is possible to minimize the cross-sectional loss of the horizontal wooden board and to prevent a decrease in the strength of the panel material. The connecting screw is screwed into the screw hole of the back plate through the through hole formed in the vertical member, and the back plate is pulled to the vertical member to connect the horizontal wooden board to the vertical member, so that the vertical member and the screw head are not exposed on the surface of the panel material, and the design of the panel material can be improved.

According to the second panel material of the present invention, in addition to the effects of the first panel material, the horizontal wooden board has a vertical groove that extends from the back board insertion hole to the back side of the horizontal wooden board, and the connecting screw is inserted into the vertical groove and screwed into the screw hole of the back board, so that the vertical position of the horizontal wooden board relative to the vertical members can be finely adjusted, preventing a decrease in design and preventing a decrease in workability when fixing the panel material to the support.

According to the first fence of the present invention, in addition to the effects of the first or second panel material, the panel material is fixed to the metal posts with fixing screws that penetrate the metal vertical members through the gaps in the horizontal wooden boards, making it easy to install, and since it is fixed between metal members, it is stronger than wood and is less susceptible to deterioration due to rainwater or sunlight.

In addition to the effects of the first fence, the second fence of the present invention has a vertical member whose width is shorter than the width of the posts and which is positioned so that it overlaps the posts. When viewed from the back of the fence, the vertical members are hidden by the posts and cannot be seen, improving the design of the back of the fence.

The third fence of the present invention has the same effects as the first or second fence, but is made of multiple panels arranged vertically and fixed to posts, improving workability.

According to the fourth fence of the present invention, in addition to the effects of the first to third fences, at the position where the panel materials are butted together vertically, the lower end of the vertical member of the upper panel material and the upper end of the vertical member of the lower panel material each have half of their width cut out and the other half has a protruding portion that protrudes, and the protruding portion and the notch form a shape that matches each other, and fixing screws that screw into the posts are driven into each protruding portion, so that the ends of the upper and lower panel materials can be fixed in the short gap between the horizontal wooden boards.

According to the fifth fence of the present invention, a locking portion that locks onto the post is formed at the height where the uppermost horizontal wooden board of the vertical member of the uppermost panel is installed, so the upper end of the panel can be easily fixed without compromising the design, and workability can also be improved.

The following describes the embodiments of the panel material and fence of the present invention with reference to the drawings. The panel material 1 is a surface material that forms a fence or fence 2 that is formed outdoors, for example, erected on the ground. As shown in FIG. 1, the fence 2 is formed by fixing the panel material 1 to a metal support 3, and divides two outdoor spaces, and is installed, for example, at the boundary between neighboring land in a residential area. The fence 2 is formed by arranging, for example, four panels 1 vertically on the support 3. In this embodiment, the "front surface" of the fence 2 or panel material 1 refers to the side on which the support 3 is hidden by the panel material 1 when installed, and the "back surface" refers to the side on which the support 3 is visible when installed. In this embodiment, the up-down direction refers to the up-down direction when the panel material 1 is fixed to the support 3. The panel material 1 is not limited to the above-mentioned, and may be fixed to the outdoor side of a building (not shown) and used as a louver to cover an opening of the building.

As shown in Figs. 2 to 7, the panel material 1 includes horizontal wooden boards 4 arranged vertically at equal intervals, back boards 5 inserted into back board insertion holes 40 formed in the horizontal wooden boards 4, vertical boards 6 abutting the back surface of the horizontal wooden boards 4, and connection screws 7 screwed into screw holes 50 in the back board 5 through through holes 60 in the vertical boards 6 to connect the horizontal wooden boards 4 and the vertical boards 6 by drawing the back board 5 to the vertical boards 6. In the fence 2 of this embodiment, as shown in Fig. 13, four panel materials 1 with different lengths in the vertical direction are used. Specifically, the top and bottom two panel materials 1 are configured with two horizontal wooden boards 4 fixed to the vertical boards 6, and the two panel materials 1 in the middle in the vertical direction are configured with eight horizontal wooden boards 4 fixed to the vertical boards 6.

As shown in Figures 2 and 3, the horizontal wooden board 4 is formed in a flat plate shape with a long front surface and a back surface in the horizontal direction, and the dimensions are, for example, 20 mm thick, 90 mm long in the vertical direction, and 1450 mm long in cross section. The back side of the horizontal wooden board 4 is abutted against the vertical member 6 and fixed, and the horizontal wooden boards 4 are arranged side by side with a gap of 7 mm in the vertical direction. The horizontal wooden board 4 is made of natural wood. The bottom surface of the horizontal wooden board 4 is formed with a back plate insertion hole 40 into which the back plate 5 can be inserted. The back plate insertion hole 40 is formed from the bottom surface of the horizontal wooden board 4 to the middle position in the height direction. In addition, the horizontal wooden board 4 is formed with a vertical groove 41 that extends from the back surface to the back plate insertion hole 40 and connects to the back plate insertion hole 40. The back plate insertion hole 40 is short in the thickness direction of the horizontal wooden board 4 and wide in the length direction of the horizontal wooden board 4, and the vertical groove 41 is narrower than the width of the back plate insertion hole 40. When looking at the underside and horizontal cross section of the horizontal wooden board 4, the back plate insertion hole 40 and the vertical groove 41 form a space in the shape of a T-shaped pillar.

In this way, the horizontal wooden board 4 has a T-shaped space formed by the back plate insertion hole 40 and the vertical groove 41, which is open to the bottom and back of the horizontal wooden board 4, and the space is not open to the top and front of the horizontal wooden board 4. In addition, the position where the vertical groove 41 is provided on the back of the horizontal wooden board 4 is covered by the vertical member 6. This prevents rainwater from entering, and even if rainwater is inserted into the back plate insertion hole 40, it flows out from the bottom, so deterioration of the horizontal wooden board 4 can be suppressed. Furthermore, since the back plate insertion hole 40 is formed from the bottom of the horizontal wooden board 4 to the middle position in the vertical direction, cross-sectional loss of the horizontal wooden board 4 can be minimized, and a decrease in the strength of the panel material 1 can be suppressed.

In this embodiment, the vertical groove 41 extends to the lower end of the horizontal wooden board 4. By forming both the back plate insertion hole 40 and the vertical groove 41 to extend to the lower end of the horizontal wooden board 4 in this manner, it is possible to easily process the back plate insertion hole 40 and the vertical groove 41 in the horizontal wooden board 4. However, as shown in FIG. 8, the lower end of the vertical groove 41 may be an elongated hole that extends to a position higher than the lower end of the horizontal wooden board 4. This can reduce the cross-sectional loss and increase the strength of the horizontal wooden board 4 and the joint strength between the horizontal wooden board 4 and the vertical member 6.

As shown in Figures 3, 6, and 7, the back plate 5 is a rectangular plate that can be entirely inserted into the back plate insertion hole 40. The back plate 5 is made of a metal such as stainless steel. A screw hole 50 is formed in the back plate 5, and the connection screw 7 that is inserted into the vertical groove 41 from the back side of the horizontal wooden board 4 can be screwed into it.

As shown in FIG. 4, the vertical members 6 are flat steel bars formed in a long length in the vertical direction. FIG. 4 shows the vertical members 6 provided on the top panel member and the vertical members 6 provided on the second panel member from the top. Two vertical members 6 are provided for each panel member 1, and are arranged on both sides of the panel member 1 to fix both ends of the horizontal wooden boards 4. The vertical members 6 have through holes 60 formed at equal intervals at the positions where the horizontal wooden boards 4 are fixed. The through holes 60 are countersunk so that the heads of the connection screws 7 do not protrude. As shown in FIG. 3 and FIG. 4, a pair of vertical members 6 provided on the uppermost panel member 1 of the panel members 1 have locking portions 61 that are locked to locking bolts 8 formed on the support 3 at the positions where the uppermost horizontal wooden boards 4 of the panel member 1 are fixed. The locking portion 61 is a bell-shaped hole that penetrates the vertical member 6, and the head of the locking bolt 8 protruding from the support 3 is hooked onto the locking portion 61, thereby locking the vertical member 6 and the panel material 1 fixed to the vertical member 6 to the support 3.

As shown in Figs. 4 and 10, the vertical members 6 at the position where the panel materials 1 are butted against each other vertically are cut out in half in the width direction so that the ends of the upper and lower vertical members 6 are aligned. Specifically, at the position where the panel materials 1 are butted against each other vertically, the lower end of the vertical member 6 of the upper panel material 1 and the upper end of the vertical member 6 of the lower panel material 1 each form a protruding portion 62 that protrudes beyond the horizontal wooden board 4 in half of the width direction of the vertical member 6, and different halves in the width direction of the vertical member 6 are cut out. The upper and lower vertical members 6 are aligned by engaging with each other's notches. The protruding portion 62 is formed so as to be exposed from the gap formed between the lowermost horizontal wooden board 4 of the upper panel material 1 and the uppermost horizontal wooden board 4 of the lower panel material 1, and when fixed to the support 3, the fixing screws 9 are driven into the protruding portions 62 of the upper and lower vertical members 6.

Therefore, at the position where the panel materials 1 are butted against each other vertically, the upper and lower ends of the vertical members 6 of the upper and lower panel materials 1 are fixed to the posts 3 with fixing screws 9, so that the upper and lower ends of the panel materials 1 do not move away from the posts 3, which reduces the deterioration of the design of the fence 2 and the deterioration of the wind resistance of the panel materials 1.

As shown in FIG. 3, the connection screw 7 is a flat head screw inserted from the through hole 60 of the vertical member 6 into the vertical groove 41 of the horizontal wooden board 4, and as shown in FIG. 6 and FIG. 7, it is screwed into the screw hole 50 formed in the back plate 5. Then, by tightening the connection screw 7, the back plate 5 is brought close to the vertical member 6, and the horizontal wooden board 4 is sandwiched between the back plate 5 and the vertical member 6, and the horizontal wooden board 4 is fixed to the vertical member 6 to form the panel member 1. The connection screw 7 is screwed into the screw hole 50 of the back plate 5 through the through hole 60 formed in the vertical member 6, and the back plate 5 is pulled to the vertical member 6 to connect the horizontal wooden board 4 to the vertical member 6, so that the vertical member 6 and the screw head are not exposed on the surface of the panel member 1, and the design of the panel member 1 can be improved.

The vertical grooves 41 formed in the horizontal wooden boards 4 are formed to connect from the back plate insertion holes 40 to the back side of the horizontal wooden boards 4 and extend vertically, so that the horizontal wooden boards 4 can be precisely adjusted in position in the vertical direction relative to the connecting screws 7 inserted into the vertical grooves 41. This makes it possible to uniformly adjust the width of the gaps between the horizontal wooden boards 4 that are fixed to the vertical members 6 in a vertical line, thereby preventing a decrease in the design of the panel material 1, and when fixing the panel material 1 to the support posts 3, it is possible to reliably secure gaps between the upper and lower horizontal wooden boards 4 to drive in the fixing screws 9, thereby preventing a decrease in workability.

The fence 2 formed using the panel material 1 thus formed is formed by fixing the panel material 1 to a support 3, as shown in Figs. 9 to 15. As shown in Fig. 15, the support 3 has an aluminum decorative support 30 in the shape of a rectangular tube made of aluminum, and a steel base post 31 in the shape of a rectangular tube arranged inside the decorative support 30. The support 3 is erected by fixing the base post 31 to a fence foundation (not shown) provided underground, and the decorative support 30 is fixed to the base post 31 so as to surround the outside of the base post 31. As shown in Figs. 10 and 12, a locking bolt 8 is fixed to the decorative support 30 at a position near the upper end where the panel material 1 is fixed, and the locking bolt 8 is hooked to the locking portion 61 formed on the vertical member 6 described above to lock the panel material 1.

12 and 13, fixing screws 9 are driven into the vertical members 6 through the gaps between the horizontal wooden boards 4 of the panel material 1, and the fixing screws 9 are screwed into the decorative posts 30 of the posts 3, thereby fixing the panel material 1 to the posts 3 and forming the fence 2. The vertical members 6 and the posts 3 are made of metal, so the panel material 1 is a decorative surface material in which the horizontal wooden boards 4 are exposed on the surface, making use of the texture of natural wood, but since the joints with the posts 3 are both made of metal, the joint strength between the posts 3 and the panel material 1 can be maintained without being affected by wood shrinkage or deterioration. In addition, fixing screws 9 are driven into the protrusions 62 formed on the vertical members 6 of the upper and lower panel materials 1 in the gaps formed between the lowest horizontal wooden board 4 of the upper panel material 1 and the highest horizontal wooden board 4 of the lower panel material 1 at the position where the upper and lower panel materials 1 are butted against each other vertically. This allows the upper and lower ends of the vertical members 6 of the upper and lower panel members 1 to be fixed to the posts 3 with fixing screws 9, preventing a loss of design and wind resistance that would occur if the upper and lower ends of the panel members 1 were to separate from the posts 3.

As shown in Figs. 14 and 15, the vertical members 6 of the panel material 1 are arranged so as to overlap with the posts 3 of the fence 2, and the width of the vertical members 6 is formed to be half or less of the width of the posts 3. By arranging the vertical members 6 so as to overlap with the posts 3, the vertical members 6 are hidden by the posts 3 and cannot be seen from the back side, giving the impression that the horizontal wooden boards 4 are directly fixed to the posts 3. The fence 2 is formed continuously as necessary by erecting three or more posts 3 side by side and erecting panel members 1 on each of the posts 3 adjacent to each other. In positions where the panel members 1 are adjacent, adjacent panel members 1 are fixed to one post 3. The vertical members 6 of adjacent panel members 1 are arranged so as to be hidden by the posts 3 and cannot be seen from the back side of the fence 2.

As described above, the fence 2 of this embodiment has an improved design because the joint between the panel material 1 and the post 3 cannot be seen from either the front or back.

It goes without saying that the embodiment of the present invention is not limited to the above-mentioned embodiment, and can be modified as appropriate without departing from the scope of the concept of the present invention.

<First feature>
The first panel material of the present invention is a panel material comprising: horizontal wooden boards that are long in the horizontal direction and arranged in a row with gaps between them, and have back board insertion holes formed from the underside facing upward; a back board that is inserted into the back board insertion holes and has screw holes formed therein; vertical boards that are long in the vertical direction and abut the back side of the horizontal wooden boards; and connecting screws that pass through holes formed in the vertical boards and screw into screw holes in the back board to pull the back board to the vertical boards and connect the horizontal wooden boards to the vertical boards, and are characterized in that the back board insertion holes are formed from the underside of the horizontal wooden boards to a vertical midpoint.

According to this, the back plate insertion hole of the horizontal wooden board is formed from the bottom surface of the horizontal wooden board to the middle position in the vertical direction, so that the back plate insertion hole does not open on the top surface of the horizontal wooden board, and it is possible to prevent rainwater from entering the back plate insertion hole. Since the back plate insertion hole is formed from the bottom surface of the horizontally long horizontal wooden board to the middle position in the vertical direction, it is possible to minimize the cross-sectional loss of the horizontal wooden board and to prevent a decrease in the strength of the panel material. The connecting screw is screwed into the screw hole of the back plate through the through hole formed in the vertical member, and the back plate is pulled to the vertical member to connect the horizontal wooden board to the vertical member, so that the vertical member and screw head are not exposed on the surface of the panel material, and the design of the panel material can be improved.

<Second feature>
The second panel material of the present invention has, in addition to the features of the first panel material, the back panel insertion hole has a vertical groove extending up and down that connects to the back side of the horizontal wooden board, and the connecting screw is inserted into the vertical groove.

In addition to the effect of the first panel material, the horizontal wooden board has a vertical groove that extends from the back board insertion hole to the back side of the horizontal wooden board, and the connecting screw is inserted into the vertical groove and screwed into the screw hole in the back board, so that the vertical position of the horizontal wooden board in relation to the vertical members can be finely adjusted, preventing a decrease in design and a decrease in workability when fixing the panel material to the support.

<Third feature>
The first fence of the present invention is a fence formed by attaching first or second panel materials to metal posts, wherein the vertical members are flat metal plates, and the panel materials are fixed to the posts by fixing screws which pass through the vertical members through gaps in the horizontal wooden boards and are screwed into the posts.

According to this, in addition to the effects of the first or second panel material, the panel material is fixed to the metal posts with fixing screws that penetrate the metal vertical members through the gaps in the horizontal wooden boards, making it easy to install, and since it is fixed to metal, it is stronger than wood and less susceptible to deterioration due to rainwater or sunlight.

<Fourth feature>
The second fence of the present invention is characterized in that, in addition to the features of the first fence, the vertical members of the panel material have a widthwise length that is shorter than the width of the posts and are positioned so as to overlap the posts.

In addition to the effect of the first fence, this structure makes the vertical members shorter in width than the width of the posts and is positioned so that they overlap the posts. When viewed from the back of the fence, the vertical members are hidden by the posts and cannot be seen, improving the design of the back of the fence.

<Fifth feature>
A third fence of the present invention has the features of the first or second fence, and is characterized in that a plurality of the panel materials are fixed to the posts in a vertically aligned arrangement.

In addition to the effects of the first or second fence, this improves ease of construction by forming multiple panel materials arranged vertically and fixed to posts.

<Sixth feature>
A fourth fence of the present invention has the following features in addition to the features of the first to third fences: at the position where the panel materials are butted together vertically, the lower ends of the vertical members of the upper panel material and the upper ends of the vertical members of the lower panel material are each cut out in half in the width direction to have protruding parts that protrude the length of the gaps in the horizontal wooden boards, so that they are shaped to fit together, and fixing screws that are screwed into the posts are driven into each of the protruding parts.

With this, in addition to the effects of the first to third fences, at the position where the panel materials are butted together vertically, the lower end of the vertical member of the upper panel material and the upper end of the vertical member of the lower panel material each have half of their width cut out and the other half has a protruding part that protrudes, and the protruding part and the notch give them a shape that matches each other, and fixing screws that screw into the posts are driven into each protruding part, so that the ends of the upper and lower panel materials can be fixed in the short gap between the horizontal wooden boards.

<Seventh feature>
A fifth fence of the present invention is characterized in that the vertical member of the uppermost panel member has a locking portion that is locked to the post at the height at which the uppermost horizontal member is provided.

With this, a locking portion that locks onto the support is formed at the height where the topmost horizontal wooden board of the vertical member of the uppermost panel material is installed, so the top end of the panel material can be easily fixed without compromising the design, and workability can also be improved.
