Abstract

To prevent direct sunlight from entering a living room through a window of the living room and to make it possible to spend time comfortably outside the window of the living room.SOLUTION: A building 1 has a first floor and a second floor. The building 1 comprises: an exterior wall of the second floor; a window in the first floor set back from the exterior wall; a habitable room facing the outdoors through the window and having a first ceiling above; an outdoor living room adjacent to the habitable room through the window outdoors and having a second ceiling above; a sunshade panel facing the exterior wall at a position away from the exterior wall outdoors; and an open ceiling formed between the sunshade panel and the exterior wall and extending upward from the outdoor living room. Description

The present invention relates to buildings.

Patent Document 1 discloses a house with a master room on the first floor that combines a living room, dining room, and kitchen. The house has a window for the master room on the south side of the first floor.

In the technology described in Patent Document 1, even if eaves are installed, the direct sunlight from high in the sky cannot be completely blocked by the eaves and enters the main room. Because the main room is bright, passersby outside the house can easily see into the main room, and the privacy of the resident is not protected.
In addition, being able to spend time outdoors in the immediate vicinity of the main living room allows a person to live a fulfilling and comfortable life. However, the technology described in Patent Document 1 is not suitable for spending time outside the window of the main living room.

The present invention was made in consideration of the above circumstances, and its object is to prevent direct sunlight from entering a room through the windows of the room and to make it suitable for spending time outside the windows of the room.

＜1. Overview of the building＞

The front of building 1 faces south, the back faces north, the right side faces east, and the left side faces west. These directions are set as absolute directions for the convenience of explaining the detailed description of building 1 and for the purpose of explaining the positional relationships of the components of building 1. The building 1 is a two-story detached house with a first floor and a second floor. If building 1 is a wooden house, building 1 can contribute to the promotion of carbon neutrality, the realization of a carbon-neutral society, and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.

<2. Exterior walls of buildings>
Building 1 has a right side exterior wall 11, a rear exterior wall 12, and a left side exterior wall 13 on its right side facing east, its rear side facing north, and its left side facing west, respectively. These exterior walls 11 to 13 extend over the first and second floors of building 1. Exterior wall 12 is joined to exterior wall 11 at a right angle, and exterior walls 11 and 12 form the northeast corner of the first and second floors. Exterior wall 13 is joined to exterior wall 12 at a right angle, and exterior walls 12 and 13 form the northwest corner of the first and second floors.

The first floor of building 1 protrudes further south than the second floor. Building 1 has exterior walls 14, 15 on the south-facing facade of the first floor, and has exterior wall 16 in the east-west central portion of the south part of the first floor. Building 1 also has exterior wall 24 on the south-facing facade of the second floor. The south-facing exterior wall 24 on the second floor is located further north than the south-facing exterior wall 14 on the first floor. Exterior wall 24 is joined at right angles to exterior walls 11, 13, and exterior wall 24 and exterior wall 11 form the southeast corner of the second floor, and exterior wall 24 and exterior wall 13 form the southwest corner of the second floor.

The south-facing exterior wall 15 on the first floor is located further north than the south-facing exterior wall 14 on the first floor, and is located east of the exterior wall 14. The exterior walls 14 and 15 occupy the eastern half of the south-facing facade of the first floor. The exterior wall 15 is joined to the exterior wall 11 at a right angle, and the exterior walls 15 and 11 form the southeast corner of the first floor. The exterior wall 14 is joined to the exterior wall 16 at a right angle to the west of the exterior wall 15, and the exterior walls 14 and 16 form a protruding corner outdoors. The exterior wall 16 faces west outdoors. <3. Around the building entrance>
The building 1 has an entrance porch 31, which serves as an outdoor space, in the southeast part of the first floor. The entrance porch 31 is provided below the eastern part of the balcony 70 on the second floor and south of the exterior wall 15, and is provided so as to recess from the eastern end of the exterior wall 14 toward the west side. Therefore, the eastern part of the balcony 70 functions as a canopy for the entrance porch 31. The exterior walls 14 and 16 have a parapet at their upper ends that surrounds the perimeter of the balcony 70.

The floor surface 32 of the entrance porch 31 extends from the entrance porch 31 to the south and east. In other words, the floor surface 32 of the entrance porch 31 extends from below the eastern part of the second floor balcony 70 to the east of the exterior wall 11 and to the south of the exterior wall 14. An approach is provided on the ground so as to extend from the floor surface 32 of the entrance porch 31 to the south.

The building 1 has an openable and closable entrance door 41a in the southeast part of the first floor. The entrance door 41a is installed between the exterior wall 14 and the exterior wall 15, at a position recessed from the east end of the exterior wall 14 toward the west side. A fixed or openable cleavage window may be provided in the exterior wall 16 instead of the ground window 16a or in addition to the ground window 16a. A fixed or openable bay window may be provided in the exterior wall 16 instead of the ground window 16a.

<4. First floor of the building>
The first floor of building 1 is divided by partition walls and fixtures into an entrance hall 41, an entrance cloakroom 42, a delivery box 43, a living room 44, a hall 45, a stairwell 46, a toilet room 47, a dining/kitchen room 48 and non-residential rooms 49 to 52.

The entrance 41 is located on the first floor, in a portion that juts out further south than the second floor. The entrance 41 faces the outdoors to the south via the exterior wall 14, faces the outdoors to the west via the exterior wall 16, and faces the outdoors to the east via the entrance door 41a. The entrance 41 is adjacent to the west of the entrance porch 31. The entrance door 41a is located at the boundary between the entrance 41 and the entrance porch 31, and separates the entrance 41 from the entrance porch 31. The floor surface of the earthen floor section 41b of the entrance 41 is continuous with the floor surface of the entrance porch 31 and is located flush with the floor surface of the entrance porch 31. The hall section 41c of the entrance 41 is located to the west of the earthen floor section 41b and extends northward beyond the earthen floor section 41b. There is a step between the floor surface of the hall section 41c and the floor surface of the dirt floor section 41b, and the floor surface of the hall section 41c is set one step higher than the floor surface of the dirt floor section 41b. The floor surface of the hall section 41c is set at a height equivalent to the floor level of the first floor of the building 1. A washbasin 41d is installed in the northeast part of the hall section 41c.

The entrance cloakroom 42 and the delivery box 43 are located north of the dirt floor area 41b of the entrance 41 and the entrance porch 31. The entrance cloakroom 42 can be accessed from the dirt floor area 41b of the entrance 41. The south sides of the entrance cloakroom 42 and the delivery box 43 face the outdoors via the exterior wall 11. The delivery box 43 is located east of the entrance cloakroom 42 and is separated from the entrance cloakroom 42. The delivery box 43 is located in a corner between the exterior walls 11 and 14, and the door of the delivery box 43 is attached to the exterior wall 11 in a manner that allows it to be opened and closed.

The living room 44 is located to the north of the hall 41c, the entrance cloakroom 42, and the delivery box 43. The living room 44 can be accessed from the hall 41c through the door 41e provided on the north side of the hall 41c of the entrance 41. The living room 44 faces the outdoors to the east through the exterior wall 11, and the window 44a of the living room 44 is provided in the exterior wall 11. The window 44a is, for example, a waist window, a high window, a ground window, or a bay window. The height of the floor of the living room 44 is aligned with the height of the floor of the hall 41c, and these floors are continuous. The ceiling of the living room 44 is a raised ceiling, and part or the entirety of the outer periphery of the ceiling is provided in a shelf-like shape that is lower than the area inside it, and indirect lighting is installed on the outer periphery of the ceiling of the living room 44. There is no window on the south side of the living room 44.

The hall 45 and staircase room 46 are located north of the living room 44. The hall 45 extends north from the western part of the north face of the living room 44, then wraps around to the north side of the staircase room 46 and extends east. The staircase room 46 has a staircase 46b that runs east from the southwestern part of the hall 45 to a landing 46a, and a storage room 46c in the southern part of the landing 46a and below the staircase 46b. The landing 46a faces the outdoors to the east via the exterior wall 11, and a skylight 46d provided in the exterior wall 11 brings natural light from the outdoors into the landing 46a. The floor height of the hall 45 is aligned with the floor height of the living room 44, and these floors are continuous.

The toilet room 47 is located at the east end of the east side of the hall 45. The east side of the toilet room 47 faces the outdoors via the exterior wall 11. The toilet room 47 is located under the northern part of the landing 46a. The floor height of the toilet room 47 is aligned with the floor height of the toilet room 47, and these floors are continuous.

Non-habitable rooms 49 and 50 are located north of the hall 45 and toilet room 47. Non-habitable room 49 is located east of non-habitable room 50. Non-habitable room 51 is located west of non-habitable room 50. Non-habitable room 52 is located west of non-habitable room 52. Non-habitable room 49 faces the outdoors to the east via exterior wall 11. Non-habitable rooms 49 to 52 face the outdoors to the north via exterior wall 12. Non-habitable room 52 faces the outdoors to the west via exterior wall 12.

Non-residential rooms 49 to 52 are wet rooms, storage rooms, or wet rooms/storage rooms. A wet room is a non-residential room equipped with wet equipment such as a sink, faucet, bathtub, toilet, and a waterproof pan for a washing machine. A storage room is a non-residential room equipped with storage equipment such as a shelf, closet, hanger rack, and clothesline. A wet room/storage room is a non-residential room equipped with both wet equipment and storage equipment. Specifically, non-residential room 49 is a bathroom as a wet room, non-residential room 50 is a laundry room/changing room as a wet room/storage room, non-residential room 51 is a washroom as a wet room/storage room, and non-residential room 52 is a storage room.

Except for a part of the dining kitchen 48 on the north side, the height of the ceiling 48d of the dining kitchen 48 is aligned with the height of the ceiling of the outer periphery of the living room 44. The ceiling 48e of the north part of the dining kitchen 48 is set lower than the ceiling of the remaining part. A curtain box 48f recessed from the ceiling 48d is installed on the southern edge of the ceiling 48d of the dining kitchen 48.

The dining kitchen 48 has a system kitchen table 48a installed in the center of the north part between the east and west sides. The dining kitchen 48 has a kitchen space to the west of the system kitchen table 48a, a space to the east of the system kitchen table 48a, and a dining space to the south of the system kitchen table 48a. A door 48b is provided on the north side of the space to the east of the system kitchen table 48a, and the space to the east of the system kitchen table 48a is a traffic line for moving from the dining kitchen 48 to the non-habitable room 51. A door 48c is provided on the north side of the space to the west of the system kitchen table 48a, and the space to the west of the system kitchen table 48a is a traffic line for moving from the dining kitchen 48 to the non-habitable room 52. The south of the dining kitchen 48 faces the outdoors through a window 48g. Specifically, no exterior walls such as a hanging wall, a waist wall, or a sleeve wall are provided on the south of the dining kitchen 48, and the entire south side of the dining kitchen 48 is opened, and a window sash is installed in the opening, thereby providing the window 48g on the south side of the dining kitchen 48. The window 48g may be a full-opening folding window or a sliding window.

Window 48g is located further north than the exterior wall 24 on the south side of the second floor. Furthermore, window 48g is located further north than the southern end of the exterior wall 13 on the west side. Therefore, even though the vertical dimension of window 48g is large, very little direct sunlight during the hot summer afternoon hours enters the dining kitchen 48. This contributes to efficiently maintaining the cooling effect of the dining kitchen 48.

<5. Second floor of the building>
The second floor of building 1 is divided by partition walls and fixtures into a staircase 61, halls 62, 63, a living room 64, a toilet room 65, a living room 66, a walk-in closet 67, a living room 68, and a bedroom 69.

The stairwell 61 is located to the north of the stairwell 46. The stairwell 61 is located above the hall 45. The stairwell 61 has a staircase 61a that runs from the northern part of the landing 46a to the west and reaches the hall 62.

Hall 62 is located above hall 45. Hall 62 extends west from the top step of staircase 61a, then north to above non-habitable room 50, and then west to above non-habitable room 51.

Hall 63 is located above Hall 45, south of Hall 62. The floor height of Hall 63 is higher than the floor height of Hall 62, and several steps 62a are provided between the floors of Hall 62 and Hall 63.

The toilet room 65 is located at the north end of the hall 62. The toilet room 65 is located above the non-habitable rooms 50 and 51. The toilet room 65 faces the outdoors to the north via the exterior wall 12. The toilet room 65 and the hall 62 can be accessed through a door in the partition wall between them. The floor height of the toilet room 65 is aligned with the floor height of the hall 63.

Living room 64 is located east of the northern end of hall 62. Living room 64 is located north of staircase 61 and east of toilet room 65. Living room 64 is located above non-living rooms 49 and 50. Living room 64 faces the outdoors to the east via exterior wall 11, and faces the outdoors to the north via exterior wall 12. Living room 64 and hall 45 can be accessed through a door located east of the northern end of hall 63. The floor height of living room 64 is the same as the floor height of hall 63. Living room 64 is used, for example, as a work room.

The living room 66 is located west of the northwest end of the hall 62. The living room 66 is located west of the toilet room 65. The living room 66 is located above the non-living rooms 51 and 52. The living room 66 faces the outdoors to the north via the exterior wall 12, and faces the outdoors to the west via the exterior wall 13. The living room 66 and the hall 63 can be accessed through a door located at the northeast end of the hall 63. The floor height of the living room 66 is the same as the floor height of the hall 63. The living room 66 is used, for example, as a child's room.

The walk-in closet 67 is located south of the stairs 46b leading from the first floor to the landing 46a. The walk-in closet 67 is located above the northern part of the living room 44. The walk-in closet 67 faces the outdoors to the east via the exterior wall 11. Access between the walk-in closet 67 and the hall 63 is possible through a door located on the east side of the southern end of the hall 63. The floor height of the walk-in closet 67 is aligned with the floor height of the hall 63.

The living room 68 is located south of the hall 63 and the walk-in closet 67. The living room 68 is located above the living room 44, the entrance cloakroom 42, and the delivery box 43. The living room 68 faces the outdoors to the east via the exterior wall 11, and faces the outdoors to the south via the exterior wall 24. A sliding window 68a for the living room 68 is provided in the exterior wall 24.
Living room 68 and hall 63 can be accessed through a door provided on the south side of the southern end of hall 63. Living room 68 and walk-in closet 67 can be accessed through a sliding door provided in the partition wall between them, and when the sliding door is opened, natural light passing through a bay window 68a enters not only living room 68 but also walk-in closet 67. The floor height of living room 68 is aligned with the floor height of hall 63 and walk-in closet 67.

The bedroom 69 is located south of the living room 66 and west of the hall 63 and living room 68. The bedroom 69 is located above the dining kitchen 48. The bedroom 69 and the hall 63 can be accessed through a door located on the west side of the south end of the hall 63. The bedroom 69 and the living room 68 can be accessed through a sliding door located in the partition wall between them. The floor height of the bedroom 69 is the same as the floor height of the hall 63 and the walk-in closet 67.

Bedroom 69 faces the outdoors to the west through exterior wall 13, and faces the outdoors to the south through exterior wall 24. Two windows 69a of bedroom 69 are provided in exterior wall 24. Since window 69a extends from floor height to ceiling height of bedroom 69, residents can look down at the outdoors through window 69a even from a height close to the floor of bedroom 69, and natural light from the outdoors easily enters the northern part of bedroom 69. Window 69a is a two-tiered window with an upper and lower tier, the lower tier of window 69a is a fixed window, and the upper tier of window 69a is a vertical sliding window. Note that the upper tier of window 69a may be a vertical sliding window or a horizontal sliding window.

A movable partition 69b is provided halfway between the northern and southern parts of the bedroom 69, dividing the bedroom 69 into northern and southern parts by the movable partition 69b. A part of the movable partition 69b may be openable and closable like a door. The movable partition 69b may be fully openable by sliding it.

<6. Balcony of a building>
The balcony 70 is provided adjacent to the south of the living room 68. The balcony 70 is provided above the entrance 41 and the entrance porch 31. The balcony 70 and the living room 68 can come and go through a bay window 68a.

<7. Exterior structure of the building>
The building 1 has an exterior structure 80 outdoors to the south of the window 48g of the dining kitchen 48. The exterior structure 80 has an outdoor living room 81, a privacy panel 82 facing the exterior wall 16 on the west side of the exterior wall 16, a sunshade panel 83 spanning between the upper part of the privacy panel 82 and the upper part of the exterior wall 14, an atrium 84 surrounded by the privacy panel 82 and the sunshade panel 83, an exterior floor 85 installed at the bottom of the outdoor living room 81, a deck 86 installed at the bottom of the outdoor living room 81, a deck 87 installed at the bottom of the outdoor living room 81, a fence 88 installed to the south of the outdoor living room 81, a drainage system 89 installed on the ground south of the fence 88, and a drainage system 90 that sends rainwater that falls on the roof and balcony 70 of the building 1 to the drainage system 89.

The outdoor living room 81 is adjacent to the south of the dining kitchen 48 via a window 48g. Because the window 48g is located further north than the exterior wall 24 on the south side of the second floor, the upper northern part of the outdoor living room 81 is shielded by the second floor of the building 1, and the outdoor living room 81 has a ceiling 81a above the northern part. Note that recessed lighting may be provided on the ceiling 81a.

Because the height of the ceiling 81a of the outdoor living room 81 is aligned with the height of the ceiling 48d of the dining kitchen 48, when the window 48g is opened, the outdoor living room 81 and the dining kitchen 48 have a sense of unity. Because the window 48g is located further north than the southern end of the exterior wall 13 on the west side of the first floor, the west of the outdoor living room 81 is blocked by the exterior wall 13, which forms the western side wall of the outdoor living room 81. Therefore, the line of sight from the southwest of the building 1 toward the dining kitchen 48 is blocked by the exterior wall 13, and the privacy of the residents is protected by the exterior wall 13. The inner surface of the dining kitchen 48 of the exterior wall 13 and the inner surface of the outdoor living room 81 are flush with each other through the vertical frame of the window 48g. Therefore, the outdoor living room 81 and the dining kitchen 48 have a sense of unity.

The exterior wall 16 is located to the east of the outdoor living room 81, the east side of the outdoor living room 81 is shielded by the exterior wall 16, and the exterior wall 16 forms the eastern side wall of the outdoor living room 81. Therefore, the line of sight from the building 1 and the southeast toward the dining kitchen 48 is blocked by the exterior wall 16, and the privacy of the residents is protected by the exterior wall 16.

The privacy panel 82 is installed on the foundation of the building 1 along the exterior wall 13 at the southern end of the first floor portion of the exterior wall 13 on the west side, and protrudes south from the southern end of the exterior wall 13. The privacy panel 82 faces the exterior wall 16 away from the west, forming the western side wall of the outdoor living room 81. The privacy panel 82 has a recess 82a on the surface facing the exterior wall 16. The recess 82a extends from the height of the bottom end of the privacy panel 82 to the height of the ceiling 81a of the outdoor living room 81. The recess 82a can be used as a storage space for furniture such as sofas, chairs, and storage boxes.

The west side of the outdoor living room 81 is shielded by a privacy panel 82. Therefore, the line of sight from the southwest of the building 1 toward the dining kitchen 48 is blocked by the exterior wall 13, and the privacy of the residents is protected by the exterior wall 13. Note that an opening may be formed by penetrating all or part of the recess 82a to the west face of the privacy panel 82. A transparent window glass panel or louver may be installed in the opening.

The sunshade panel 83 is placed at a position south of the lower part of the exterior wall 24 on the south side of the second floor, and is stretched from the southern end of the upper part of the privacy panel 82 to the upper part of the exterior wall 14. Therefore, the outdoor living room 81 extends from the window 48g of the dining kitchen 48 to under the sunshade panel 83.

The outdoor living room 81 is open to the south through an area enclosed by the sunshade panel 83, the southern end of the privacy panel 82, and the corner formed by the exterior walls 14 and 16. This allows the residents to feel a sense of openness in the outdoor living room 81, and also allows indirect natural light to be brought into the dining kitchen 48.

The area surrounded by the sunshade panel 83, the upper part of the exterior wall 16, the lower part of the exterior wall 24, and the privacy panel 82 is an atrium 84. As a result, sunlight enters the outdoor living room 81 directly, making the outdoor living room 81 bright. The light that enters the outdoor living room 81 is indirectly incident on the dining kitchen 48 due to diffuse reflection, etc., so the dining kitchen 48 is also appropriately bright. The atrium 84 gives a sense of openness to the residents in the outdoor living room 81.

The sunshade panel 83 blocks direct light on days when the sun is high, making it difficult for that direct light to enter the dining kitchen 48. The sunshade panel 83 blocks direct light on days when the sun is low, making it difficult for that direct light to enter the back of the dining kitchen 48. This prevents residents in the dining kitchen 48 from feeling uncomfortable glare.

The height of the bottom end 83b of the sunshade panel 83 is aligned with the height of the ceiling 81a of the outdoor living room 81. The space of the outdoor living room 81 from the area enclosed by the sunshade panel 83, the southern end of the privacy panel 82, and the corner formed by the exterior walls 14 and 16 to the window 48g is neat, and the sense of openness on the south side of the outdoor living room 81 is just right, neither too high nor too low.

The sunshade panel 83 blocks the view from the ground level on the south side of the building 1 toward the bedroom 69 on the second floor. Even though the window 69a of the bedroom 69 extends from the floor height of the bedroom 69 to the ceiling height, the privacy of the occupants is protected by the sunshade panel 83. In other words, the sunshade panel 83 overcomes the infringement of privacy, which is a disadvantage of the large vertical dimension of the window 69a of the bedroom 69, while taking advantage of the advantage of the large vertical dimension of the window 69a, which is high daylighting and outdoor visibility.

The height of the upper end 83a of the sunshade panel 83 is higher than the height of the lower end of the window 69a of the bedroom 69 and the height of the floor of the bedroom 69. This height of the upper end 83a of the sunshade panel 83 strikes a good balance between overcoming the disadvantages of the large vertical dimension of the window 68a and utilizing its advantages. Furthermore, this height of the upper end 83a of the sunshade panel 83 contributes to appropriately blocking direct sunlight on the outdoor living room 81 and providing an appropriate amount of daylight brightness to the outdoor living room 81.

The south face of the sunshade panel 83, the south face of the exterior wall 14, and the south end of the privacy panel 82 are flush with each other. The height of the upper end 83a of the sunshade panel 83 is aligned with the height of the upper end of the exterior wall 14 and the upper end 83a of the sunshade panel 83, and the copings installed on the sunshade panel 83, the exterior wall 14, and the upper end 83a of the sunshade panel 83 are arranged continuously. Therefore, the design of the sunshade panel 83, the exterior wall 14, and the privacy panel 82 is highly sophisticated, and this design gives the observer a sense of solidity.

The sunshade panel 83, exterior walls 14-16, and privacy panel 82 are exteriorized with exterior materials of the same design. The inner surface of the outdoor living room 81 of the exterior wall 13 is also exteriorized with exterior materials of the same design as the sunshade panel 83, exterior walls 14-16, and privacy panel 82. The hanging wall 41f above the entrance door 41a and the portion 11a of the exterior wall 11 that protrudes above the entrance porch 31 are also exteriorized with exterior materials of the same design as the sunshade panel 83, exterior walls 14-16, and privacy panel 82. Therefore, the design of the south side of the building 1 is good, and this design gives a sense of solidity to the observer.

Because almost no direct light enters the dining kitchen 48, the dining kitchen 48 is much darker than the outdoors. As a result, passersby to the south of the building 1 tend to focus their gaze on the south side of the building 1, that is, the southern end of the privacy panel 82, the sunshade panel 83 and the exterior wall 14, as well as the fence 88 and the fence 89 described below, and have difficulty seeing inside the dining kitchen 48. This ensures that the residents' privacy is protected.

The exterior floor 85 is composed of multiple tiles laid on the bottom of the outdoor living room 81. The exterior floor 85 protrudes south from the outdoor living room 81 beyond the south-facing exterior wall 14, and extends east from the south of the outdoor living room 81 along the exterior wall 14.

The deck 86 is laid on the bottom of the outdoor living room 81 along the bottom frame of the window 48g of the dining kitchen 48. The height of the deck 86 is aligned with the height of the floor 48h of the dining kitchen 48, and the deck 86 is adjacent to the floor 48h of the dining kitchen 48 via the bottom frame of the window 48g. The deck 87 is laid on the bottom of the outdoor living room 81 along the lower edge of the privacy panel 82. The deck 87 is adjacent to the south of the deck 86. The deck 87 also extends into the recess 82a of the privacy panel 82, and forms the lower floor of the recess 82a. The deck 87 protrudes south from the outdoor living room 81 beyond the south-facing exterior wall 14.

The fence 88 is low, about waist height. The fence 88 has porous rocks 88a piled up on the ground at a position adjacent to the south of the exterior floor 85 and the deck 87, and a wire mesh case 88b that covers the collection of porous rocks 88a and maintains the shape of the collection of porous rocks 88a. The wire mesh case 88b is made by assembling wire mesh into a rectangular box shape. The porous rocks 88a are loaded into the wire mesh case 88b. These porous rocks 88a are simply piled up, and no binding material such as cement is filled in the gaps between the porous rocks 88a. The porous rocks 88a are natural lava stones with high porosity, such as pumice. The porous rocks 88a may be artificial stones such as foamed cement solidification. Since the porous rocks 88a have a high porosity, the porous rocks 88a have water retention. Because the porous rocks 88a are simply stacked, the collection of porous rocks 88a is permeable and water-permeable.

During rainfall, rainwater seeps into the gaps between the porous rocks 88a and is absorbed by the porous rocks 88a. After that, when the rain stops, the rainwater evaporates from the porous rocks 88a, and the porous rocks 88a and its surroundings are cooled by the heat of vaporization. Since the rainwater is retained by the porous rocks 88a, the porous rocks 88a and its surroundings are cooled for a long time. Since the wind passes through the gaps between the porous rocks 88a, the wind is cooled by the heat of vaporization of the rainwater. In particular, the southerly wind after rainfall in the summer passes through the gaps in the porous rocks 88a and blows into the outdoor living room 81 and the dining kitchen 48, giving the residents a comfortable feeling of coolness. Therefore, the fence 88 reduces the frequency of air conditioning use. Ultimately, the fence 88 contributes to the realization of an energy-saving society, the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions, the realization of a decarbonized society, and the realization of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The fence 89 is constructed on the ground south of the wall 88. The fence 89 comprises a recess 89a dug in the ground, a water-permeable sheet 89b laid on the bottom of the recess 89a, and stones 89c filled in the recess 89a on top of the water-permeable sheet 89a. The water-permeable sheet 89b prevents the stones 89a from sinking into the ground.

When it rains, rainwater that falls on the site where building 1 is located flows into the recess 89a. Therefore, even if localized rain falls in a short period of time, flooding of the site can be prevented. Because the stones 89a are buried in the recess 89a, puddles are unlikely to form even if rainwater flows into the recess 89a. When the rain stops, the rainwater that has accumulated in the recess 89a passes through the permeable sheet 89b and seeps into the ground.

The drainage system 90 is piped from the roof and balcony 70 of the building 1 to the bottom 89. The drainage system 90 includes, for example, a horizontal gutter provided at the eaves of the roof, a vertical gutter piped from the horizontal gutter along the exterior wall 13 to below the ground, a balcony gutter piped from the floor of the balcony 70 to the vertical gutter, and an underground gutter piped from the bottom end of the vertical gutter to the bottom 89 below the ground.

Since this rainwater is sent to the drainage system 90 below 89, puddles are less likely to form within the grounds of building 1 during rainfall.
