また、下弦材連結金具3の回転が支柱1のパネル取付溝4により規制され、下弦材連結金具3自体もねじれ難く、且つ下弦材連結金具3の載置部7により下弦材2のねじれを防ぐことができるので、強風時に下弦材2が回転したりねじれたりするのを防止できる。
このような手すりは、パネル5に受ける風圧等により下弦材2の支柱1との接合部に大きな荷重が繰り返しかかるため、当該接合部に緩みが生じないように定期的にメンテナンスを行うことが好ましいが、本手すりは通しボルト8やナット29を増し締めすることで、そのメンテナンスが容易に行える。
本手すりは、支柱1は、パネル取付溝4を左右の側面の見込方向の略中央部に設けてあるので、手すり全体の見込寸法を小さくできる。
本手すりは、支柱1のパネル取付溝4に下弦材連結金具3を嵌合しているので、支柱1に下弦材連結金具3の回転規制用に別途溝を設ける必要がなく、支柱1の見込寸法を小さくできるとともに支柱1の断面形状をシンプルにできる。

Because heavy loads are repeatedly placed on the joints between the lower chord 2 and the pillars 1 of handrails like this due to wind pressure on the panel 5, it is preferable to perform regular maintenance on these joints to prevent them from loosening.
