A method for producing a toner for developing electrostatic images, comprising crystalline polyester resin C and amorphous polyester resin A, wherein the crystalline polyester resin C is a polycondensate of an alcohol component containing 80 mol % or more of ethylene glycol and a carboxylic acid component containing 80 mol % or more of an aliphatic dicarboxylic acid compound, and the amorphous polyester resin A is a polycondensate of an alcohol component containing 80 mol % or more of an aliphatic diol having 2 to 6 carbon atoms and a carboxylic acid component, the method comprising the step of melt-kneading a mixture containing the crystalline polyester resin C and the amorphous polyester resin A using an open-roll twin-screw kneader equipped with two rolls operating at different peripheral speeds, wherein the set temperature of the raw material supply side of the high-speed roll with the higher peripheral speed of the open-roll twin-screw kneader is 150°C or less.
