Abstract
Description
この出願は、2017年8月15日に出願された米国特許出願第15/677,921号の一部継続出願である2018年6月22日に出願された米国特許出願第16/016,466号の優先権を主張し、これらの特許出願はいずれも、その全体が参照により本願に組み入れられるとともに、本願の一部を構成する。
この発明は、Procter&Gamble CompanyとSandia National Laboratoriesとの間のCRADA(SC03/1672)の下で行われ、米国エネルギー省のために運営された。Duracell Company及びその子会社Duracell U.S.Operations、Inc.は、CRADA(SC03/1672)に基づくProcter&Gamble Companyの利益承継者である。政府は、この発明において特定の権利を有する。

Claims (19)
- ハウジングであって、第1及び第2の極を備えるハウジングと、
ポリマー材料を備えるとともに、前記第1及び第2の極のうちの少なくとも一方に隣接して位置される複合水応答性安全層であって、該複合水応答性層が水溶液との接触時に電子非伝導状態から電子伝導状態へと変化するようになっており、前記安全層が少なくとも1つの金属塩を更に含む、前記少なくとも1つの金属塩が少なくとも第1の金属塩及び第2の金属塩を含む、複合水応答性安全層と、
を備えるバッテリー。 - 前記第2の金属塩が水不溶性であり、前記第1の金属塩が水溶性である、請求項1に記載のバッテリー。
- 前記第1の金属塩が硫酸銅を含み、前記第2の金属塩が炭酸銅を含む、請求項1又は2に記載のバッテリー。
- 前記第2の金属塩が中性炭酸銅を含む、請求項1から3のいずれか一項に記載のバッテリー。
- 前記第2の金属塩が塩基性炭酸銅を含む、請求項1から3のいずれか一項に記載のバッテリー。
- 前記複合水応答性安全層が着色剤を更に含む、請求項1から5のいずれか一項に記載のバッテリー。
- 前記着色剤が顔料及び染料から選択される、請求項6に記載のバッテリー。
- 前記複合水応答性安全層がレオロジー添加剤を更に含む、請求項1から7のいずれか一項に記載のバッテリー。
- 前記レオロジー添加剤がヒュームドシリカを含む、請求項8に記載のバッテリー。
- 前記複合水応答性安全層が接着促進剤を更に含む、請求項1から9のいずれか一項に記載のバッテリー。
- 前記接着促進剤がシラン接着促進剤を含む、請求項10に記載のバッテリー。
- 前記接着促進剤は、ジアルコキシシラン、モノアルコキシシラン、トリアルコキシシラン、ビスシラン、トリハロシラン、及び、これらの混合物から成るグループから選択されるシラン接着促進剤を含む、請求項10に記載のバッテリー。
- 前記接着促進剤が(3−アミノプロピル)トリエトキシシランを含む、請求項10に記載のバッテリー。
- 前記複合水応答性安全層が金属粉末を更に含む、請求項1から13のいずれか一項に記載のバッテリー。
- 前記金属粉末は、ビスマス(0)(Bi)、銅(0)(Cu)、鉄(0)(Fe)、インジウム(0)(In)、鉛(0)(Pb)、ニッケル(0)(Ni)、マグネシウム(0)(Mg)、水銀(0)(Hg)、銀(0)(Ag)、スズ(0)(Sn)、亜鉛(0)(Zn)、これらの合金、及び、これらの任意の組み合わせから成るグループから選択される、請求項14に記載のバッテリー。
- 前記正極が絶縁ガスケットによって前記負極から電子的に分離され、前記複合水応答性安全層が前記絶縁ガスケットに隣接して位置され、前記複合水応答性安全層が前記正極(バッテリーのカソードに対応する)と前記負極(バッテリーのアノードに対応する)との間で延びて前記正極及び前記負極の両方と接触する、請求項1から15のいずれか一項に記載のバッテリー。
- 前記複合水応答性安全層は、前記正極と前記負極との間で、前記正極及び前記負極の少なくとも一方の外周にわたって連続的に延在する、請求項16に記載のバッテリー。
- 前記安全層は、前記正極と前記負極との間で、前記正極及び前記負極の少なくとも一方の外周の一部にわたって延在する、請求項16に記載のバッテリー。
- 前記バッテリーは、AAAA、AAAバッテリー、AAバッテリー、Bバッテリー、Cバッテリー、Dバッテリー、9Vバッテリー、CR2バッテリー、CR123Aバッテリー、1/3Nバッテリー、ボタンセル、及び、コインセルから選択される、請求項1から18のいずれか一項に記載のバッテリー。
