Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a head-up display device that makes a display image visible to a user by projecting a display image on a projection surface provided on a windshield or the like.
Conventionally, Patent Document 1 has proposed a head-up display device in which a display is arranged directly under a windshield, and an image displayed on the display is projected on a projection surface of the windshield so that the user can visually recognize the display. In a head-up display device having such a configuration, when sunlight or the like incident through a windshield is reflected by the display, the reflected light may be directly incident on the user's eye box. For this reason, the upper end position of the hood portion of the dashboard corresponding to the bezel is located above the straight line connecting the upper end of the eye box and the upper end of the display. As a result, even if incident light such as sunlight is reflected at the upper end position of the display, the reflected light is blocked by the hood portion so that it does not reach the eye box.
In a 3D (dimension) display or the like, a display having a periodic pixel structure such as a liquid crystal display is generally used. In this display, each pixel is composed of a plurality of sub-pixels, and the display colors of the plurality of sub-pixels are different from each other, so that various colors can be reproduced as one pixel.
In a display having such a structure, there are two types: a periodic structure consisting of a plurality of pixels (hereinafter referred to as a pixel periodic structure) and a periodic structure composed of subpixels constituting each pixel (hereinafter referred to as a subpixel periodic structure). It has a cycle.
On the other hand, it is known that when light is incident on the periodic structure, diffraction of light occurs. The diffracted light has a relationship that the diffraction angle increases as the frequency of the periodic structure increases. Therefore, when light is incident on a display such as a liquid crystal display, diffracted light depending on the frequency of the periodic structure is generated in addition to the specularly reflected light.
In the structure of Patent Document 1 described above, the reflected light can be blocked by the hood portion, but the diffracted light goes out from the opening formed above the housing containing the display portion. there is a possibility. If the diffracted light goes out, it can somehow get into the driver's eyes. Since the position of the eyebox changes depending on the sitting height of the driver and the like, the diffracted light can reach the driver's eyes, so it is necessary to prevent not only the reflected light but also the diffracted light from reaching the eyebox.
In view of the above points, it is an object of the present invention to provide a head-up display device capable of preventing not only reflected light but also diffracted light from reaching the eye box.
With such a configuration, the diffracted light based on the pixel periodic structure of the display is suppressed from going out of the housing, and not only the reflected light but also the diffracted light can be prevented from reaching the eye box. It becomes possible to.

Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. In each of the following embodiments, parts that are the same or equal to each other will be described with the same reference numerals.
(First Embodiment)
The first embodiment will be described. The head-up display device is applied to a vehicle, and is used to provide a driver with information such as a vehicle speed and a display of a traveling direction by a navigation system by making a virtual image of a display image visible.
The head-up
The head-up
The
As shown in FIG. 2, the
On the
As described above, in the
However, since the period of the periodic structure is reflected in the diffracted light, the diffraction angle of the subpixel periodic structure having a shorter period than that of the pixel periodic structure is larger. Therefore, in the structure A of the present embodiment, the periodic structure in the direction along the incident direction of sunlight is the pixel periodic structure, so that the periodic structure in the direction along the incident direction of sunlight is sub, as in the structure B. The diffraction angle can be reduced as compared with the case of having a pixel periodic structure. Therefore, it becomes easy to suppress the diffracted light from coming out of the
The dust-
The
As described above, the head-up
In the head-up
As shown in FIG. 2, when the incident light Li of sunlight is incident on the
The diffraction angle β represented by this equation changes according to the diffraction order N, and the larger the absolute value of the negative value diffraction order N, the closer to the incident light Li and the easier it is to go out from the
However, the intensity of the diffracted light Ld decreases as the absolute value of the diffraction order N increases. Therefore, the installation state of the
Here, as shown in FIG. 4, the straight line connecting the
The incident angle α is assumed to be the smallest when the incident direction of the incident light Li coincides with the straight line LA, and the incident angle α at this time is the angle θ. Therefore, by substituting θ for α in Equation 1 and changing it to the equation in β,
Further, if the diffraction order N of the diffracted light Ld that prevents the diffracted light Ld from coming out from the
As described above, in the present embodiment, the installation position of the
In the head-up
(Second Embodiment)
The second embodiment will be described. Since this embodiment is the same as the first embodiment in that the configuration of the
As shown in FIG. 5, in the present embodiment, the
Even when the
As shown in FIG. 6, if the radius of curvature of the
As described above, when the normal vector Z1 at the
In this way, when the
(Other embodiments)
Although the present disclosure has been described in accordance with the above-described embodiment, the present disclosure is not limited to the embodiment, and includes various modifications and modifications within an equal range. In addition, various combinations and forms, as well as other combinations and forms that include only one element, more, or less, are also within the scope of the present disclosure.
For example, in the above embodiment, the case where the
The horizontal direction referred to in the present specification means a state when the vehicle is on a horizontal road surface, but does not mean that the vehicle is completely in agreement with the horizontal direction, but a direction along the horizontal direction. Means. For example, the arrangement direction of the
Further, the
Further, the shape of the
