Description

The present invention relates to a recording device including a battery mounting portion to which a battery can be attached and detached.

An example of a recording device is a printer, and some printers, especially mobile type printers, are configured so that the battery can be attached to and detached from the device body so that it can be used outdoors without a commercial power supply (for example,). See Patent Document 1).

Japanese Unexamined Patent Publication No. 2004-229449

Since the mounting portion for mounting the battery is provided with a connection terminal for connecting the battery, it is preferable that the mounting portion is covered with a cover so that foreign matter does not adhere to the connection terminal when the battery is not connected. In particular, if liquid adheres to the connection terminals, the connection terminals may deteriorate.
However, even in the covered state, there is a risk that a liquid such as water may enter from the joint between the cover and the housing of the device and adhere to the connection terminal to deteriorate the connection terminal. For example, the printer is placed on a desk to which a liquid such as water is attached with the side on which the cover is provided facing down.
In particular, if there is a portion where the cover and the housing of the device overlap, an infiltration route when the liquid invades from the outside is formed. The portion where the cover and the housing of the device overlap is a portion that suppresses the lifting of the cover when the cover is attached to the housing, and is a portion required for fixing the cover. Such a portion may form an intrusion path when the liquid invades from the outside, and the liquid may adhere to the connection terminal to deteriorate the connection terminal.

Hereinafter, the present invention will be schematically described.
The recording device according to the first aspect is the housing in which a housing including a recording unit for recording on a medium and a battery for supplying power required for recording on the medium by the recording unit can be attached and detached. A battery mounting portion provided is provided, and the battery mounting portion includes a recess into which a part of the battery enters, a connection terminal provided in the recess and electrically connectable to the battery, and the connection terminal. A cover portion that forms a part of the housing is provided, and a cover that covers an area other than the cover portion in the battery mounting portion is removable when the battery is not mounted. The portion where the housing and the housing overlap in the depth direction of the recess is located outside the path toward the connection terminal when the liquid infiltrates from the portion where the cover and the covering portion face each other. It is characterized by.

According to this aspect, in the portion where the cover and the housing overlap in the depth direction of the recess, the liquid enters the connection terminal when the liquid infiltrates from the portion where the cover and the covering portion face each other. Since it is located outside the path toward the cover, even if a liquid enters from a portion where the cover and the cover portion face each other, that is, a joint between the cover and the cover portion, the liquid is straight toward the connection terminal. It can suppress the progress.

The second aspect is a battery provided in the housing, which is detachable from a housing including a recording unit for recording on the medium and a battery for supplying power required for recording on the medium by the recording unit. The battery mounting portion comprises a mounting portion, and the battery mounting portion covers a recess into which a part of the battery enters, a connection terminal provided in the recess and electrically connectable to the battery, and the connection terminal. A cover portion that constitutes a part of the housing is provided, and a cover that covers an area other than the cover portion in the battery mounting portion is removable when the battery is not mounted, and the cover and the housing are detachable. Is a path toward the connection terminal when the liquid infiltrates from a portion where the cover and the covering portion face each other, and has a portion that overlaps in the depth direction of the recess, and the overlapping portion has a portion that overlaps. , The groove portion into which the liquid enters is formed.

According to this aspect, the cover and the housing are paths toward the connection terminal when the liquid enters from a portion where the cover and the covering portion face each other, and are in the depth direction of the recess. Since the overlapping portion is formed in the overlapping portion and the groove portion into which the liquid enters is formed, the liquid can be discharged from the portion where the cover and the covering portion face each other, that is, the joint between the cover and the covering portion. Even if it infiltrates, it is possible to prevent the liquid from advancing straight toward the connection terminal.

A third aspect is a battery provided in the housing, which is detachable from a housing having a recording unit for recording on the medium and a battery for supplying power required for recording on the medium by the recording unit. It is characterized in that a liquid absorbent material for absorbing the liquid is provided.

According to this aspect, the cover and the housing are paths toward the connection terminal when the liquid enters from a portion where the cover and the covering portion face each other, and are in the depth direction of the recess. In the overlapping portion, the liquid absorbing material for absorbing the liquid is provided at the portion where the cover and the covering portion face each other, that is, the liquid is formed from the joint between the cover and the covering portion. Even if the liquid enters, it is possible to prevent the liquid from advancing straight toward the connection terminal.

A fourth aspect is characterized in that, in any one of the first to third aspects, the covering portion extends in the extending direction of the connection terminal from the tip end portion of the connection terminal.
According to this aspect, since the cover portion extends in the extending direction of the connection terminal from the tip end portion of the connection terminal, the portion where the cover and the cover portion face each other, that is, the cover and the cover portion. When the liquid infiltrates through the joint with the cover portion, it is possible to suppress the arrival of the liquid to the connection terminal.

In a fifth aspect, in any of the first to fourth aspects, a notch is formed on the peripheral edge of the cover, and the notch is formed from a portion of the peripheral edge of the cover facing the cover. It is characterized in that it is formed at an off position.

According to this aspect, since the notch portion is formed on the peripheral edge of the cover, the cover can be easily removed from the housing by hooking a finger on the notch portion. Here, such a notch allows the liquid to enter the recess, but the notch is formed at a position on the peripheral edge of the cover away from the portion facing the cover. Therefore, even if the liquid infiltrates through the cutout portion, the arrival of the liquid to the connection terminal can be suppressed.

A sixth aspect is characterized in that, in the fifth aspect, a regulation wall for restricting the entry of foreign matter from the notch portion into the recess is provided on the back surface of the cover.
According to this aspect, since the back surface of the cover is provided with a regulation wall for restricting the entry of foreign matter into the recess from the notch, the regulation wall allows the notch to enter the recess. It is possible to regulate the entry of foreign matter.

In the recording device according to the seventh aspect, a housing having a recording unit for recording on a medium and a battery for supplying power required for recording on the medium by the recording unit can be attached to and detached from the housing. The battery mounting portion includes a battery mounting portion provided, and the battery mounting portion includes a recess into which a part of the battery enters, and a connection terminal provided in the recess and electrically connectable to the battery. The battery is characterized by including a charging terminal connected to the connection terminal and an angle regulating unit that regulates an angle formed by the connection terminal and the charging terminal by coming into contact with the housing.

When the battery is mounted on the battery mounting portion, if the angle formed by the connection terminal and the charging terminal becomes large, the connection between the connection terminal and the charging terminal may be poor. For example, the battery includes an angle regulating unit that regulates the angle formed by the connection terminal and the charging terminal by coming into contact with the housing. Therefore, when the connection terminal and the charging terminal are connected, the battery is described. It is possible to suppress an increase in the angle formed by the connection terminal and the charging terminal, and the connection terminal and the charging terminal can be appropriately connected.

An eighth aspect is characterized in that, in the seventh aspect, the angle regulating portion is composed of a protrusion portion that abuts on the outer surface of the housing.

A ninth aspect is characterized in that, in the seventh aspect, the angle regulating portion is composed of a protrusion that abuts on a contact surface extending in the sliding direction of the battery in the battery mounting portion.

The recording device according to the tenth aspect is the housing in which a housing including a recording unit for recording on a medium and a battery for supplying power required for recording on the medium by the recording unit can be attached and detached. The battery mounting portion includes a provided battery mounting portion, and the battery mounting portion includes a recess into which a part of the battery enters, and a connection terminal provided in the recess and electrically connectable to the battery. The battery includes a charging terminal connected to the connection terminal, and the connection terminal and the charging terminal face each other in a state where a part of the battery is inserted into the recess.

When the battery is mounted on the battery mounting portion, if the angle formed by the connection terminal and the charging terminal becomes large, the connection between the connection terminal and the charging terminal may be poor. For example, in a state where a part of the battery is inserted into the recess, the connection terminal and the charging terminal face each other, so that the connection terminal and the charging terminal can be appropriately connected.

The discharge portion 6 is exposed on the front surface. The operation unit 4 includes a power button, a print setting button, a display panel, and the like for operating the printer 1.

When the medium P is mounted on the mounting surface 3a of the cover member 3, the medium supply unit 5 supplies the medium P from the mounting surface 3a toward the recording area by the recording head 10 in the housing 2. Further, in the discharge unit 6, the medium P supplied from the mounting surface 3a through the medium supply unit 5 into the housing 2 is discharged to the front surface of the apparatus in a state where recording is executed by the recording head 10 described later. Allow that.

In the printer 1 shown in FIG. 4, the medium P mounted on the mounting surface 3a is sent from the medium supply unit 5 to the lower side of the recording head 10 by the feeding means 8 and the conveying means 9. Then, the ink as a liquid is ejected from the recording head 10 to the medium P, and the recording is performed on the medium P.

The recording head 10 is provided on the carriage 11 that reciprocates in the X-axis direction, which is the width direction intersecting the transport direction of the medium P in FIG. The recording head 10 ejects ink from a nozzle row (not shown) provided on the liquid ejection surface 10a.
The carriage 11 is equipped with an ink cartridge 12 for supplying ink for recording on the medium P to the recording head 10.

Below the recording head 10 shown in FIG. 4, a support member 13 for supporting the medium P in a recording region facing the recording head 10 is provided, and the recording head 10 is provided with respect to the medium P supported by the support member 13. Recording is performed by ejecting ink from the liquid ejection surface 10a of the above. The recorded medium P is discharged from the discharge unit 6 (see also FIG. 3) provided on the front surface of the housing 2.

The printer 1 is provided with a first battery 15 (FIG. 4) inside the housing 2, and a second battery 20 (FIGS. 1 and 2) is detachably configured on the outside of the housing 2. The first battery 15 and the second battery 20 are rechargeable batteries capable of supplying power to operating units such as the recording head 10, the feeding means 8, and the conveying means 9.

The second battery 20 is removable from the battery mounting portion 50 (FIG. 5) provided on the outside of the housing 2, and supplies power to each of the operating portions of the printer 1 in the mounted state shown in FIG. In the present embodiment, the battery mounting portion 50 is provided on the back surface of the housing 2. The battery mounting portion 50 is configured to include a recess 18, a connection terminal 19, an engaged portion 14, and the like, which will be described in detail later.

As shown in FIG. 2, a first connection portion 16 to which the plug 41 of the power adapter 40 can be connected is provided on the side surface 2a of the housing 2 of the printer 1 in the + X direction. The power adapter 40 is, for example, an AC adapter that is connected to an indoor commercial power outlet 43 and supplies power from a commercial power source. A cable 42 is connected to the power adapter 40. One end of the cable 42 is connected to the power adapter 40, and the other end is provided with a plug 41 to be inserted into the first connection portion 16.
A USB cable connecting portion 17 is provided adjacent to the first connecting portion 16 on the side surface 2a of the housing 2.

When the plug 41 is connected to the first connection unit 16 and power is supplied via the power adapter 40, the operating units such as the recording head 10, the feeding means 8, and the transporting means 9 in the housing 2 can be driven. Become.
Further, the printer 1 has a first charging state for charging the first battery 15 and a second charging state for charging the second battery 20 when the plug 41 of the power adapter 40 is connected to the first connection portion 16. It is configured so that the state and the state can be switched. That is, the first battery 15 can be charged and the second battery 20 can be charged by supplying power from the first connection unit 16.

The second battery 20 is provided with a second connection portion 21 (FIG. 7) to which the plug 41 can be connected. The second connection unit 21 is also a DC jack like the first connection unit 16. That is, even when the second battery 20 is removed, the second battery 20 can be charged by connecting the plug 41 to the second connection portion 21 (FIG. 7) of the second battery 20.
As shown in FIG. 7, the second battery 20 includes a second display means 23 that displays the charging status of the second battery. For example, an LED lamp can be used as the second display means 23. The second display means 23 indicates whether the second battery 20 is charging or is fully charged, and the charging status can be easily visually recognized.
The operation unit 4 (FIG. 3) provided in the housing 2 of the printer 1 is provided with a first display means 4a capable of displaying the charging status of both the first battery 15 and the second battery 20. ..
As the first display means 4a, for example, a liquid crystal panel may be used to display whether the first battery 15 is charged in the first charged state or the second battery 20 is charged in the second charged state. it can. In addition, the first display means 4a can display the charge amounts of the first battery 15 and the second battery 20.

As shown in FIG. 7, the second battery 20 is composed of a battery case 20a and a battery cover 20b. The battery cover 20b is a facing surface 22 facing the battery mounting portion 50 (FIG. 5).
In the second battery 20, a charging terminal 30 connected to a connection terminal 19 (FIG. 6) provided in the housing 2 is provided at the end of the battery cover 20b in the −X direction. Further, at the end of the battery cover 20b in the + X direction, a hook portion 31b for locking the second battery 20 in the mounted state with respect to the housing 2 is provided.

Two convex portions 25 are provided at the end portion of the second battery 20 in the −X direction where the charging terminal 30 is provided. Further, as shown in FIG. 6, the battery mounting portion 50 is provided with a recess 18 into which a part of the second battery 20 enters, and the recess 18 is formed with two receiving portions 45.
Then, when the second battery 20 is mounted, the end portion of the second battery 20 in the −X direction is inserted into the recess 18 as shown in FIG. At this time, the convex portion 25 (FIG. 7) of the second battery 20 is inserted into the receiving portion 45 (FIG. 6) of the concave portion 18. As a result, the −X direction end portion of the second battery 20 is fixed so as not to come off from the recess 18, and the connection terminal 19 on the main body side and the charging terminal 30 on the battery side are electrically connected.

After inserting the −X direction end of the second battery 20 into the recess 18, the second battery 20 is rotated in the direction of arrow A as shown in FIG.
Here, a hook portion 31b is provided at the + X direction end portion of the second battery 20, and an engaged portion 14 on which the hook portion 31b is hooked is formed at the + X direction end portion of the battery mounting portion 50. The hook portion 31b is pressed in the + X direction by a spring (not shown), and is provided so that the release portion 31a can be displaced in the −X direction against the pressing force of the spring by pushing the release portion 31a in the −X direction. There is.

Therefore, when the + X direction end of the second battery 20 is rotated in the arrow A direction as shown in FIG. 8, the hook portion 31b is caught by the engaged portion 14, and the + X direction end of the second battery 20 is fixed. To. To release this fixed state, the release portion 31a is pushed in the −X direction.
As described above, the hook portion 31b and the release portion 31a form a locking means 31 that locks the second battery 20 to the battery mounting portion 50.

Next, with reference to FIGS. 8 and 8 onward, a cover 60 that covers the entire battery mounting portion 50 in a state where the second battery 20 is not mounted on the battery mounting portion 50 will be described.
When the second battery 20 is not mounted, as is clear from FIG. 6, the connection terminal 19 of the recess 18 may be exposed and foreign matter may adhere to the battery mounting portion 50 as shown in FIG. The cover 60 is configured to be mountable.

The cover 60 is integrally formed of a resin material and is elastically deformable. As shown in FIGS. 9 and 10, in the cover 60, a recess 63 is formed at the end in the −X direction, and a recess 64 as a notch is formed at the end in the + X direction.
As shown in FIG. 6, a cover portion 52 that covers the connection terminal 19 is integrally formed in the housing 2 in the battery mounting portion 50, and the recess 63 of the cover 60 corresponds to the shape and size of the cover portion 52. That is, it is formed in a shape and size that avoids the covering portion 52. The cover portion 52 minimizes the exposure of the connection terminal 19 when the cover 60 is not attached. In the present embodiment, the covering portion 52 is a portion in the + X direction from the position X1 in FIG. 13, that is, a portion protruding in the + X direction.

As shown in FIGS. 10 and 11, two convex portions 61 are formed at the end portion of the cover 60 in the −X direction, and the convex portions 61 are formed in the concave portion 18 on the main body side (FIG. 10). By entering 6), the −X direction end portion of the cover 60 is fixed. That is, the convex portion 61 formed on the cover 60 corresponds to the convex portion 25 (FIG. 7) formed on the second battery 20.

Further, protrusions 62 are formed along the X-axis direction on the + Z direction edge portion and the −Z direction edge portion of the cover 60, and the protrusions 62 are formed on the battery mounting portion and are not shown. By entering the portion, the lift of the cover 60 in the −Y direction is restricted.
The recess 64 formed at the end of the cover 60 in the + X direction forms an opening into which a finger is inserted as shown in FIG. 8 with the cover 60 attached.
The cover 60 is attached to the battery mounting portion 50 in the same manner as the attachment of the second battery 20 described with reference to FIG. That is, the convex portion 61 formed at the −X direction end of the cover 60 is inserted into the receiving portion 45 (FIG. 6) formed in the concave portion 18 on the main body side, and then the entire cover 60 is formed in FIG. Push in the direction of arrow A. As a result, the protrusion 62 enters the receiving portion (not shown) with the overall elastic deformation of the cover 60, and the cover 60 is in the attached state.

As shown in FIG. 12, a regulation wall 65 is formed on the back surface of the end portion in the + X direction of the cover 60, and the regulation wall 65 allows foreign matter to enter from the recess 64 into the recess 18 (FIG. 6). Be regulated.

Subsequently, the relationship between the recess 63 formed at the end in the −X direction of the cover 60 and the cover portion 52 formed in the recess 18 of the battery mounting portion 50 will be described with reference to FIGS. 13 and 14.
When the cover 60 is attached to the battery mounting portion 50 and the printer 1 is placed on a desk or the like with the surface provided with the cover 60, that is, the back surface of the printer 1 facing down, the cover 60 and the housing 2 There is a risk that the liquid will enter the recess 18 from the joint. In particular, if liquid infiltrates through the joint between the recess 63 of the cover 60 and the cover portion 52, the liquid may adhere to the connection terminal 19 and deteriorate the connection terminal 19.

In particular, if there is a portion where the cover 60 and the cover portion 52 overlap in the depth direction (Y direction) of the recess 18, such a portion forms a liquid infiltration path, and the liquid adheres to the connection terminal 19. It will be easier. However, such an overlapping portion is a portion necessary for restricting the lifting of the cover 60 in the −Y direction when the cover 60 is attached to the battery mounting portion 50.

Specifically, in the present embodiment, such a portion corresponds to the convex portion 61 and the protrusion 62 described with reference to FIG. 9, but in the present embodiment, the convex portion 61 and the protrusion 62 are the edges of the covering portion 52. When the liquid infiltrates from the portion where the portion 52a and the edge portion 63a of the recess 63 face each other, the liquid is located outside the path toward the connection terminal 19 (indicated by reference numeral S in FIGS. 13 and 14). .. Therefore, even if the liquid infiltrates from the portion where the edge portion 63a of the cover 60 and the edge portion 52a of the cover portion 52 face each other, it is possible to prevent the liquid from advancing straight toward the connection terminal 19.

In the present embodiment, as shown in FIGS. 13 and 14, the cover portion 52 extends in the extending direction (+ X direction) of the connection terminal 19 from the tip end portion of the connection terminal 19, so that the cover 60 When a liquid infiltrates from a portion where the edge portion 63a of the cover portion 52 and the edge portion 52a of the cover portion 52 face each other, it is possible to suppress the arrival of the liquid at the connection terminal 19.

Further, in the present embodiment, as shown in FIG. 9, the recess 64 as the notch portion, that is, the recess 64 for forming the opening for inserting the finger is removed from the portion facing the cover portion 52 at the peripheral edge of the cover 60. Since it is formed at the position, even if the liquid enters from the recess 64, it is possible to prevent the liquid from reaching the connection terminal 19.

Subsequently, another embodiment will be described with reference to FIG. The cover 60A shown in FIG. 15 has an overlapping portion 67 that overlaps with the covering portion 52A in the Y direction, and the overlapping portion 67 effectively suppresses the floating of the cover 60A in the −Y direction.
The overlapping portion 67 facilitates the formation of a liquid infiltration path, but the liquid that has entered through the gap between the covering portion 52A and the cover 60A, that is, the portion of the covering portion 52A facing the overlapping portion 67, enters the connection terminal 19. Grooves 69 extending in the Z-axis direction are formed in the direction of the path at appropriate intervals in the X-axis direction. The length of the groove portion 69 in the Z-axis direction can be made the same as, for example, the length of the covering portion 52A in the Z-axis direction. Therefore, when the liquid enters the plurality of groove portions 69, it is possible to prevent the liquid from advancing straight toward the connection terminal 19.

Subsequently, another embodiment will be described with reference to FIG. The cover 60A shown in FIG. 15 has an overlapping portion 67 that overlaps with the covering portion 52B in the Y direction, and the overlapping portion 67 effectively suppresses the floating of the cover 60A in the −Y direction.
The overlapping portion 67 facilitates the formation of a liquid infiltration path, but the liquid that has entered through the gap between the covering portion 52B and the cover 60A, that is, the portion of the covering portion 52B facing the overlapping portion 67, enters the connection terminal 19. A liquid absorbent 70 is provided on the path to the route. The length of the liquid absorbent 70 in the Z-axis direction can be made the same as, for example, the length of the covering portion 52B in the Z-axis direction. Therefore, the liquid absorbent 70 can prevent the liquid from advancing straight toward the connection terminal 19.

Subsequently, another embodiment will be described with reference to FIG. The cover 60B shown in FIG. 17 has an overlapping portion 68 that overlaps with the covering portion 52 in the Y direction, and the overlapping portion 68 effectively suppresses the floating of the cover 60B in the −Y direction. The overlapping portion 68 is formed so as to overlap the covering portion 52 on both sides in the Z-axis direction.
The overlapping portion 68 is provided at a position where the liquid deviates from the path S toward the connection terminal 19, so that the liquid enters from a portion where the edge portion 63a of the cover 60B and the edge portion 52a of the cover portion 52 face each other. Even so, it is possible to prevent the liquid from advancing straight toward the connection terminal 19.

Next, an angle regulating unit that regulates the angle formed by the connection terminal 19 (see FIG. 6) included in the battery mounting portion and the charging terminal 30 (see FIG. 7) provided in the second battery will be described.
FIG. 18 shows a cross section in a configuration without an angle regulating unit, and first, a technical problem in a configuration without an angle regulating unit will be described below.
As described above, in the second battery 20, a charging terminal 30 connected to the connection terminal 19 provided in the housing 2 is provided at the end in the −X direction. Then, when mounting the second battery 20, the end portion of the second battery 20 in the −X direction is fitted into the recess 18. The portion of the second battery 20 into which the recess 18 enters is indicated by reference numeral 20d, and hereinafter, this portion is referred to as a convex portion 20d (see also FIG. 7). Reference numeral 20c is a side surface of the second battery 20 in the −X direction.

When the convex portion 20d of the second battery 20 is fitted into the concave portion 18, if the posture of the second battery 20 is tilted in the XY plane as shown in FIG. 18, the connection terminal 19 and the charging terminal 30 are parallel to each other. That is, the angle α becomes large. If the second battery 20 is slid in the −X direction in this state, the charging terminal 30 may be disconnected from the connection terminal 19 and may not be properly connected. In addition, there is a risk of damaging the substrate fixing each terminal.
In addition, when the corner portion 20e in the + X direction of the convex portion 20d comes into contact with the edge portion 18a in the + X direction of the concave portion 18, the connection terminal 19 and the charging terminal 30 cannot face each other and cannot be properly connected.

Therefore, the second battery 20A shown in FIGS. 19 and 19 is provided with angle regulating units 71A and 71B that regulate the angle formed by the connection terminal 19 and the charging terminal 30.
As shown in FIGS. 19 and 20, the angle regulating portion 71A is composed of a protruding portion 72 protruding in the −X direction on the side surface 20c. In this embodiment, two protrusions 72 are provided at intervals in the Z-axis direction.
As shown in FIG. 20, the protrusion 72 of the second battery 20A when the connection terminal 19 and the charging terminal 30 are connected by contacting the outer surface of the housing 2 when the second battery 20A is mounted. The inclination is regulated, and the angle formed by the connection terminal 19 and the charging terminal 30 is regulated. As a result, the connection terminal 19 and the charging terminal 30 can be appropriately connected.
In the present embodiment, two protrusions 72 are arranged at intervals in the Z-axis direction, but the present invention is not limited to this, and one or three or more protrusions 72 may be provided or extend along the Z-axis direction. It may be formed in. Further, the larger the protrusion amount of the protrusion 72 in the −X direction, the greater the effect of suppressing the inclination of the second battery 20A, but in consideration of the easiness of damage of the protrusion 72 and the suppression of the increase in size of the battery body. It is preferable to consider the amount of protrusion of the protrusion 72.

Next, as shown in FIGS. 19, 22, and 23, the angle regulating portion 71B is composed of a protruding portion 73 that protrudes in the + X direction and is provided on the opposite side of the convex portion 25 described above in the X-axis direction. To. As shown in FIG. 23, the protrusion 73 abuts on the contact surface 53 extending in the X-axis direction, that is, in the slide direction of the second battery 20A, thereby forming the connection terminal 19 and the charging terminal 30. Suppresses the inclination of the second battery 20A in the XZ plane when the batteries are connected. As a result, the connection terminal 19 and the charging terminal 30 can be appropriately connected.

Further, in the second battery 20A, the corner portion of the convex portion 20d in the + X direction is chamfered to form the chamfered portion 20f. With this chamfered portion 20f, when the convex portion 20d of the second battery 20A is fitted into the concave portion 18 as shown in FIG. 21, the connection terminal is formed with a gap between the connection terminal 19 and the charging terminal 30. The 19 and the charging terminal 30 can face each other, that is, the angle α shown in FIG. 18 is 0 ° or close to it. As a result, the connection terminal 19 and the charging terminal 30 can be appropriately connected.

The above configuration is not limited to a recording device represented by a printer, and can be adopted for other electronic devices, for example, an image reading device represented by a scanner, and other electronic devices provided with an external battery.

Further, the present invention is not limited to the embodiments described above, and various modifications can be made within the scope of the invention described in the claims, and these are also included in the scope of the present invention.
