Abstract
Description
アルミナ(Al2O3)がコーティングされた平均直径10μmのLiMnO・2NiO・6CoO2正極活物質70wt%と、三ホウ酸リチウム(LBO)がコーティングされた平均直径5μmのLiMnO・2NiO・6CoO2正極活物質30wt%と、を混合することで混合正極活物質を製造し、前記混合正極活物質、導電性炭素、バインダーをそれぞれ92.5:3.5:4の重量比に混合して電極集電体にコーティングすることで正極を製造し、このように製造された正極と負極との間に分離膜を介してアルミニウムパウチケースで封止することで二次電池を製造した。
三ホウ酸リチウム(LBO)がコーティングされた平均直径10μmのLiMnO・2NiO・6CoO2正極活物質70wt%と、アルミナ(Al2O3)がコーティングされた平均直径5μmのLiMnO・2NiO・6CoO2正極活物質30wt%と、を混合して混合正極活物質を用いることを除いては、実施例1と同様の方法で二次電池を製造した。
三ホウ酸リチウム(LBO)がコーティングされたLiMnO・2NiO・6CoO2正極活物質を単独で用い、前記正極活物質、導電性炭素、バインダーをそれぞれ92.5:3.5:4の重量比に混合して電極集電体にコーティングすることで正極を製造し、このように製造された正極と負極との間に分離膜を介してアルミニウムパウチケースで封止することで二次電池を製造した。
アルミナ(Al2O3)がコーティングされたLiMnO・2NiO・6CoO2正極活物質を単独で用いることを除いては、比較例1と同様の方法で二次電池を製造した。
[出力特性評価]
SOC50におけるパルス電流(pulse current)に対する10秒間の電圧降下を通じて抵抗を測定した結果を表1に示した。
4.25V満充電状態の電池を、60℃の高温で1週単位で保持した後、回復容量及び抵抗変化をグラフとして図1に示した。
高温保持5週後の容量維持率及び抵抗変化率は、表2のようである。

- 平均直径が10μm以上である大粒径正極活物質と、平均直径が5μm以下である小粒径正極活物質と、を含み、
前記大粒径正極活物質及び小粒径正極活物質が、それぞれ三ホウ酸リチウム及び金属酸化物のうち相異なる物質でコーティングされた混合正極活物質。 - 前記金属酸化物が、酸化マグネシウム、酸化アルミニウム、酸化ニオビウム、酸化チタン及び酸化タングステンからなる群より選択された一種以上であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の混合正極活物質。
- 前記大粒径正極活物質と小粒径正極活物質との重量比が、5:5〜8:2であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の混合正極活物質。
- 前記大粒径正極活物質または小粒径正極活物質の少なくともいずれか一つが、リチウム・ニッケル・マンガン・コバルト複合酸化物(NMC)であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の混合正極活物質。
- 前記リチウム・ニッケル・マンガン・コバルト複合酸化物が、Li(1+δ)MnxNiyCo(1−x−y−z)MzO2(Mは、Ti、Zr、Nb、Mo、W、Al、Si、Ga、Ge及びSnからなる群より選択される少なくとも一種の元素であり、−0.15<δ<0.15、0.1<x≦0.5、0.6<x+y+z<1.0、0≦z≦0.1である)であることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の混合正極活物質。
- 電極集電体と、
前記電極集電体の少なくとも一面上に形成され、請求項1〜請求項5のうちいずれか一項に記載の混合正極活物質、導電材及びバインダーを含む正極活物質層と、を備える正極。 - 前記導電材が、黒鉛、カーボンブラック、アセチレンブラック、ケッチェンブラック、チャンネルブラック、ファーネスブラック、ランプブラック、サマーブラック、炭素繊維、金属繊維、フッ化カーボン、アルミニウム粉末、ニッケル粉末、酸化亜鉛、チタン酸カリウム及び酸化チタンからなる群より選択される少なくともいずれか一つであることを特徴とする請求項6に記載の正極。
- 前記バインダーは、ポリフッ化ビニリデン、フッ化ビニリデン−ヘキサフルオロプロピレンコポリマー(PVDF−co−HFP)、ポリビニルアルコール、カルボキシメチルセルロース(CMC)、でん粉、ヒドロキシプロピルセルロース、再生セルロース、ポリビニルピロリドン、ポリテトラフルオロエチレン、ポリエチレン、ポリプロピレン、エチレン−プロピレン−ジエンテルポリマー(EPDM)、スルホン化EPDM、スチレンブタジエンゴム(SBR)、フッ素ゴム、ポリアクリロニトリル及びポリメチルメタクリレートからなる群より選択される少なくともいずれか一種であることを特徴とする請求項6に記載の正極。
- 請求項6に記載の正極を含む二次電池。
- 前記二次電池が、リチウム二次電池であることを特徴とする請求項9に記載の二次電池。
- 前記二次電池が、4.25V以上の駆動電圧を有することを特徴とする請求項9に記載の二次電池。
