Description
<微細化セルロースの特性>
微細化セルロースは、セルロースやセルロースの誘導体からなる繊維である。平均繊維径が通常1,000nm以下である微細化セルロースは、強い水和性を有し、水系媒体中において水和することで安定的に分散状態(分散液の状態)を維持する。微細化セルロースを構成する単繊維は、水系媒体中において複数条が集合して繊維状をなす場合もある。本明細書では、平均繊維径が4〜500nm未満のものをセルロースナノファイバー(CNF)といい、平均繊維径が500nm〜1,000nm以下のものをミクロフィブリルセルロース(MFC)という。
<Characteristics of micronized cellulose>
Micronized cellulose is a fiber made of cellulose or a derivative of cellulose. Micronized cellulose having an average fiber diameter of usually 1,000 nm or less has strong hydratability, and stably maintains a dispersed state (state of dispersion) by hydration in an aqueous medium. A single fiber constituting the micronized cellulose may be formed into a fibrous shape by a plurality of filaments gathering in an aqueous medium. In the present specification, those having an average fiber diameter of 4 to less than 500 nm are called cellulose nanofibers (CNF), and those having an average fiber diameter of 500 nm to 1,000 nm or less are called microfibril cellulose (MFC).
