Abstract
Description
本願は、2013年11月25日に提出された米国仮出願整理番号61/908,535、および2014年11月21日に提出された米国特許出願整理番号14/550,621の利益を主張し、それらの全体をここに引用により援用する。
1.技術分野
本発明は概ね保護繊維スリーブに関し、より具体的には螺旋状にラップされた不織保護スリーブに関する。
不織素材で保護繊維スリーブを製造する方法は知られており、保護スリーブを形成するために不織素材を螺旋状にラップすることもさらに知られている。典型的には、不織素材を螺旋状にラッピングする際、テープなどの接着層が、不織素材をラップされた形状に保持するために不織素材の外側表面の周りを螺旋状にラップする。残念ながら、不織素材の対向する端部の間に延びる不織素材の中間領域は覆っている接着層によって概ねラップされた形状に維持されるものの、端部領域は少なくとも部分的に剥がれがちで、繊維スリーブの保護性能を損なうほか、見た目もよくない。この問題は螺旋状にラップされた不織素材の端部が切断され後にそこに固着される様式でラップされる外側接着層を有するときに特に厄介である。端部が剥がれる可能性に加えて、基礎にある螺旋状にラップされた不織素材を適当な場所に保持するための追加的な接着層の必要により製造プロセスの、そして究極的には最終製品のコストが増加する。
本発明の一態様によれば、内部部材に保護をもたらす不織スリーブが提供される。不織スリーブは中心長手軸に沿って延びる筒状の不織壁を有する。筒状の不織壁は中心長手軸の周りで螺旋状にラップされた不織素材のストリップを含み、ストリップの対向する縁部は螺旋突合せ接合を形成するために互いに当接される。ストリップの対向する縁部は突合せ接合にわたってストリップの融解された素材で一体に固着される。そのようにして、ストリップは不織壁が望ましくない、ゆるい不織素材のストリップの端部分を有したり、あるいは作らないようその全体長に沿って筒状様式に確かに固着される。
本発明の別の実施形態によれば、不織スリーブはさらに筒状の不織壁および反射性外側層の間に中間スクリム層を含む。
図をより詳細に参照して、図1は本発明の一態様によって製造された、後にスリーブ10と称される、保護的で、螺旋状にラップされた筒状の不織スリーブを示す。スリーブ10は、スリーブ10の中心長手軸14に沿って対向する端部16、18の間で伸びる筒状で螺旋状にラップされた不織壁12を有する。壁12は不織素材のストリップ20で形成され、ストリップ20は複数の周方向に延びる螺旋形のターンにわたって中心長手軸14の周りで螺旋状にラップされ、ストリップ20の対向する縁部22、24は螺旋状に延びる滑らかな突合せ接合26を形成するために互いの平坦な接合がもたらされる。対向する縁部22、24は螺旋状の突合せ接合26に沿って、これにわたって、不織ストリップ20の融解した、融合したとも称される素材によって一体的に固着され、そのようにして、螺旋状にラップされた壁12が突合せ接合26に沿って剥がれたり、あるいはスリーブの端部16、18と隣接するストリップ20の端部が緩み、固着されなくなるのを防止する。
Claims (14)
- 内部部材を保護するための不織スリーブであって、
中心長手軸に沿って延びる筒状の不織壁を備え、前記筒状の不織壁は不織素材のストリップから形成され、前記不織素材のストリップは前記中心長手軸の周りを複数の周方向に延びるターン上で前記ストリップの対向する縁部が螺旋状の突合せ接合を形成するために互いに当接されて螺旋状にラップされ、前記対向する縁部は前記不織素材のストリップの溶解した素材により前記突合せ接合にわたって一体に固着される、不織スリーブ。 - 前記螺旋状の突合せ接合の隣接するターンの間に延びる前記不織素材が溶解されない、請求項1に記載の不織スリーブ。
- 反射性外側層をさらに含む、請求項1に記載の不織スリーブ。
- 前記反射性外側層はホイルである、請求項3に記載の不織スリーブ。
- 前記筒状の不織壁および前記反射性外側層の間に中間層をさらに含む、請求項3に記載の不織スリーブ。
- 前記中間層が繊維ガラスである、請求項5に記載の不織スリーブ。
- 前記反射性外側層および前記中間層は前記筒状の不織壁の周りに螺旋状にラップされる、請求項5に記載の不織スリーブ。
- 前記中間層は前記反射性外側層および前記筒状の不織壁に接着層によって固着される、請求項7に記載の不織スリーブ。
- 内部部材を保護するための、中心長手軸に沿って延びる筒状の壁を有する不織スリーブを製造する方法であって、
前記中心長手軸の周りで周方向に延びる複数のターン上で不織素材のストリップを螺旋状にラップするステップと、前記ストリップの対向する縁部を突合せ接合を形成するために互いに当接するステップと、前記対向する縁部を前記突合せ接合にわたって前記ストリップの溶解した素材によって一体に固着するステップと、を備える方法。 - 前記対向する縁部を互いに当接するに先立ち、前記外側縁部の少なくとも1つに沿って素材を溶解するステップをさらに含む、請求項9に記載の方法。
- 前記対向する縁部の少なくとも1つに沿って素材を溶解する間、前記螺旋状の突合せ接合の隣接するターンの間に延びる不織素材の前記ストリップの中間領域の溶解を回避するステップをさらに含む、請求項10に記載の方法。
- 前記筒状の不織壁の周りで反射性外側層をラップするステップをさらに含む、請求項11に記載の方法。
- 前記筒状に不織壁および前記反射性外側層の間に中間層を挟み込むステップをさらに含む、請求項12に記載の不織スリーブ。
- 前記中間層を前記反射性外側層に固着して積層を形成するステップと、その後前記積層を前記筒状の不織壁の周りに螺旋状にラップするステップをさらに含む、請求項13に記載の不織スリーブ。
