Claims (33)
- 重畳する多層フィルムのプライを含む変換フィルムであって、
各プライは、
第1ポリマー材料から形成される気体遮断層と、
前記気体遮断層に直接結合し、混合ポリマー材料から形成されるシール層と、を含み、
前記混合ポリマー材料は、
第2ポリマー材料であって、前記第1ポリマー材料と前記第2ポリマー材料は、共押出時に強く接着するのに不適合である第2ポリマー材料と、
第3ポリマー材料であって、前記遮断層への前記シール層の接着を高めるのに十分な量で、前記第2ポリマー材料に混合される第3ポリマー材料との混合物を含み、
前記プライ各々の前記シール層は、膨張可能なチャンバを画するパターンで、他の前記プライのシール層に対してシールされることを特徴とする変換フィルム。 - 前記第2ポリマー材料は、高密度ポリエチレン(HDPE)、中密度ポリエチレン(MDPE)、メタロセン直鎖状低密度ポリエチレン(mLLDPE)、低密度ポリエチレン(LDPE)、直鎖状低密度ポリエチレン(LLDPE)、及びこれらの混合物であり、
前記第3ポリマー材料は、イオノマー、酢酸ビニル高含有EVA共重合体、変性高密度ポリエチレン(HDPE)、変性中密度ポリエチレン(MDPE)、変性メタロセン直鎖状低密度ポリエチレン(mLLDPE)、変性低密度ポリエチレン(LDPE)、変性直鎖状低密度ポリエチレン(LLDPE)、及びこれらの混合物であり、前記変性により、前記ポリマー上の極性原子又は極性基の数が増加していることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の変換フィルム。 - 前記第2ポリマー材料は、直鎖状低密度ポリエチレン(LLDPE)であり、
前記第3ポリマー材料は、前記ポリマー上の極性原子又は極性基の数が増加するように変性された変性直鎖状低密度ポリエチレン(LLDPE)であることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の変換フィルム。 - 前記第3ポリマー材料は、無水物変性直鎖状低密度ポリエチレン(LLDPE)であることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の変換フィルム。
- 前記第3ポリマー材料は、無水マレイン酸変性直鎖状低密度ポリエチレン(LLDPE)であることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の変換フィルム。
- 前記第1ポリマー材料は、ポリアミド又はエチレンビニルアルコール共重合体を含む樹脂から製造されることを特徴とする、請求項1〜5のいずれかに記載の変換フィルム。
- 前記パターンは、前記チャンバと流体連通する膨張領域を画することを特徴とする請求項1〜6のいずれかに記載の変換フィルム。
- 保護包装材を作製する方法であって、
請求項1〜7のいずれかに記載の前記変換フィルムを提供することと、
前記プライ間に空気を注入して前記チャンバを膨張させることと、
膨張した前記チャンバをシールして、前記チャンバ内に前記空気を封じ込め、膨張させたクッションを提供することと、を含む方法。 - 前記チャンバを膨張させ、ヒートシールしてエアクッションを提供する際に、前記エアクッションが、0.1psiの負荷での7日間超のクリープ試験において約3%未満の減損を呈するように前記多層フィルムが構成されていることを特徴とする請求項1〜7のいずれかに記載の多層フィルム。
- 前記チャンバを膨張させ、ヒートシールしてエアクッションを提供する際に、前記エアクッションが、−13インチHgの圧力下での真空/減圧試験において約9%未満の減損を呈するように前記多層フィルムが構成されていることを特徴とする請求項1〜7のいずれか、又は請求項9に記載の多層フィルム。
- 多層ポリマーフィルムであって、
主に一次遮断層材料から形成される気体遮断層であって、前記一次遮断層材料は、気体に対して高い不透過性を有する第1ポリマー材料であり、且つ材料特性を有する気体遮断層と、
前記気体遮断層に直接結合し、主に一次シール層材料から形成されるシール層であって、前記一次シール層材料は、ポリエチレンから形成される第2ポリマー材料であり、前記第1及び第2ポリマー材料の材料特性は、共押出時に前記第1及び第2ポリマー材料が強く接着するのに不適合であることを特徴とするシール層と、を含み、
前記気体遮断層又は前記シール層は、それぞれの前記一次材料と第3ポリマー材料との混合物を含む混合ポリマー材料から形成され、前記第3ポリマー材料は、それぞれの前記一次材料の材料特性を高めるのに十分な量で混合され、その結果、前記シール層は、共押出により高い接着力で遮断層に直接結合することができ、
前記一次材料のうち、少なくとも1つは、HDPEより低密度のポリエチレンであることを特徴とする多層ポリマーフィルム。 - 前記第3ポリマー材料は、前記第2ポリマー材料の材料特性を高めるのに十分な量で、前記第2ポリマー材料と混合されていることを特徴とする請求項11に記載の多層ポリマーフィルム。
- 前記第3ポリマー材料は、イオノマー、酢酸ビニル高含有EVA共重合体、変性低密度ポリエチレン(LDPE)、変性直鎖状低密度ポリエチレン(LLDPE)、変性メタロセン直鎖状低密度ポリエチレン(mLLDPE)、変性中密度ポリエチレン(MDPE)、変性高密度ポリエチレン(HDPE)、及びこれらの混合物から選択され、前記変性により、前記ポリエチレン上の極性原子又は極性基の数が増加していることを特徴とする請求項12に記載の多層フィルム。
- 前記第2ポリマー材料は、低密度ポリエチレン(LDPE)、直鎖状低密度ポリエチレン(LLDPE)、メタロセン直鎖状低密度ポリエチレン(mLLDPE)、中密度ポリエチレン(MDPE)、高密度ポリエチレン(HDPE)、及びこれらの混合物から選択されることを特徴とする請求項12に記載の多層フィルム。
- 前記第2ポリマー材料は、メタロセン直鎖状低密度ポリエチレン(mLLDPE)、直鎖状低密度ポリエチレン(LLDPE)、低密度ポリエチレン(LDPE)、中密度ポリエチレン(MDPE)、高密度ポリエチレン(HDPE)、及びこれらの混合物から選択され、
前記第3ポリマー材料は、変性メタロセン直鎖状低密度ポリエチレン(mLLDPE)、変性直鎖状低密度ポリエチレン(LLDPE)、変性低密度ポリエチレン(LDPE)、変性中密度ポリエチレン(MDPE)、変性高密度ポリエチレン(HDPE)、及びこれらの混合物から選択され、前記変性は無水物で行われることを特徴とする請求項12に記載の多層フィルム。 - 前記第3ポリマー材料は、変性低密度ポリエチレン(LDPE)、変性直鎖状低密度ポリエチレン(LLDPE)、及びこれらの混合物であり、前記変性により、前記ポリマー上の極性原子又は極性基の数が増加していることを特徴とする請求項11〜15のいずれかに記載の多層フィルム。
- 前記シール層は、類似した組成を有する他のフィルムのシール層に対してヒートシールされることが可能であることを特徴とする請求項16に記載の多層フィルム。
- 前記混合材料は、主に前記第2材料を含むことを特徴とする請求項16に記載の多層フィルム。
- 前記第1材料は、ポリアミド又はエチレンビニルアルコール共重合体を含む樹脂から製造されることを特徴とする請求項18に記載の多層フィルム。
- 前記第2材料は、直鎖状低密度ポリエチレン(LLDPE)であり、
前記第3材料は、無水物で変性された直鎖状低密度ポリエチレン(LLDPE)であることを特徴とする請求項18に記載の多層フィルム。 - 前記第2材料は、直鎖状低密度ポリエチレン(LLDPE)であり、
前記第3材料は、無水物で変性されたメタロセン直鎖状低密度ポリエチレン(mLLDPE)であることを特徴とする請求項18に記載の多層フィルム。 - 前記第2材料は、未変性直鎖状低密度ポリエチレン(LLDPE)であり、
前記第3材料は、無水マレイン酸変性直鎖状低密度ポリエチレン(LLDPE)であることを特徴とする請求項18に記載の多層フィルム。 - 前記多層フィルムは、前記遮断層が2つのシール層の間に配置されるように、前記遮断層の反対側に他のシール層を有することを特徴とする請求項16に記載の多層フィルム。
- 前記多層フィルムは、対称的な層配置を有することを特徴とする請求項23に記載の多層フィルム。
- 前記シール層は、前記多層フィルムの露出面に配置されていることを特徴とする請求項24に記載の多層フィルム。
- 前記遮断層又は前記シール層は、類似した組成を有する複数の副層を含むことを特徴とする請求項11〜25のいずれかに記載の多層フィルム。
- 前記多層フィルムは全厚を有し、前記遮断層は前記多層フィルムの前記全厚の20%以下の厚さを有することを特徴とする請求項11〜26のいずれかに記載の多層フィルム。
- 前記第3ポリマー材料は、前記第1ポリマー材料の材料特性を高めるのに十分な量で、前記第1ポリマー材料と混合されていることを特徴とする請求項11〜27のいずれかに記載の多層フィルム。
- 前記遮断層は2つ以上の副層を含み、前記副層は同じ又は異なる第1材料で構成されており、前記第1材料は、ポリアミド、エチレンビニルアルコール共重合体、ポリエチレン、及び変性ポリエチレンのうち、1つ以上を含むことを特徴とする請求項11〜28のいずれかに記載の多層フィルム。
- 保護包装用の膨張可能且つ密封可能なフィルムを製造する方法であって、請求項11〜29のいずれかに記載の重畳する前記多層フィルムのプライをヒートシールすることを含み、前記プライ各々のシール層は、膨張可能なチャンバを画するパターンにおいて、互いに対してシールされ、前記チャンバは、前記チャンバを膨張させるためのノズルを受けた膨張領域に接続していることを特徴とする方法。
- 重畳する多層フィルムのプライを含む変換フィルムであって、各プライは、請求項11〜29のいずれかに記載の前記多層フィルムを含み、前記各プライのシール層は、膨張可能なチャンバを画するパターンにおいて、他のプライのシール層に対してシールされることを特徴とする変換フィルム。
- 請求項11〜29、及び請求項31のいずれかに記載の前記多層フィルムを作製する方法であって、前記遮断層及び前記シール層を共押出して前記遮断層を前記シール層に接触させて、多層フィルムを作製することを含む方法。
- 多層フィルムを作製する方法であって、
ポリアミド又はエチレンビニルアルコール共重合体を含む第1ポリマー材料を含む遮断層と、
低密度ポリエチレン(LDPE)又は直鎖状低密度ポリエチレン(LLDPE)である第2材料と変性低密度ポリエチレン(LDPE)又は変性直鎖状低密度ポリエチレン(LLDPE)である第3材料との混合物を含むシール層とを、共押出することを含み、
前記フィルムの前記遮断層を前記シール層と共押出して接触させて、多層フィルムを作製することを特徴とする方法。
