Description

The present invention relates to a dielectric waveguide line.

Dielectric loss always occurs in a cable that transmits a high-frequency signal, such as a coaxial cable or a LAN cable. Polytetrafluoroethylene can reduce the dielectric loss of a cable that transmits a high-frequency signal. Accordingly, it has been proposed to use polytetrafluoroethylene as an insulating coating layer material for cables that transmit high-frequency signals.

For example, in Patent Document 1, a porous tetrafluoroethylene resin insulating layer having a heat treatment adjusted to 75 to 92% of the surface crystallization rate and 5 to 30% of the porosity of the entire insulating layer is formed on the outer periphery of the central conductor. A semi-rigid coaxial cable is proposed in which an outer metal conductor layer in which an electroless plating anchor metal layer and an electroplating metal layer are sequentially applied is provided on the porous tetrafluoroethylene resin insulating layer. .

Further, in Patent Document 2, when polytetrafluoroethylene is used as an insulating coating layer material, heat treatment of polytetrafluoroethylene is performed in order to balance electrical characteristics such as dielectric constant and dielectric loss tangent with workability. It is stated that the degree needs to be controlled.

Patent Document 1 and Patent Document 2 both disclose the use of polytetrafluoroethylene as an insulating coating layer material for a high-frequency signal transmission cable using a metal material for the core wire. However, a high-frequency signal transmission cable using a metal material for the core wire can transmit microwaves having a long wavelength, but the attenuation is too large to transmit millimeter waves and submillimeter waves. Therefore, a hollow metal tube having a circular or square cross-sectional shape is used as a waveguide for transmitting millimeter waves and submillimeter waves. It is also known to use polytetrafluoroethylene for a waveguide line for transmitting millimeter waves and submillimeter waves.

Patent Document 3 describes a transmission line characterized in that at least a part of a wave energy transmission portion is formed of a dielectric made of a stretched continuous porous crystalline polymer material that is fixed by firing. Examples of the conductive polymer material include polytetrafluoroethylene.

Patent Document 4 describes that a wave energy transmission portion of a dielectric waveguide for transmitting millimeter waves and submillimeter waves is formed by an unfired or incompletely fired polytetrafluoroethylene molded product. Yes.

The hollow metal tube has a problem that it is relatively heavy. Moreover, since it does not have sufficient flexibility and the inside of the tube is hollow, there is a problem that the cross section is deformed when bent and transmission efficiency is impaired. On the other hand, a waveguide in which a metal tube is filled with a dielectric, Patent Documents 3 and 4
However, it is also known to use polytetrafluoroethylene in the wave energy transmission portion of the dielectric waveguide as described in the above, but improvement in transmission efficiency is required.

The present invention includes a core wire made of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) and a coating layer made of a metal provided around the core wire, and the core wire has a dielectric loss tangent of 0.00020 at 2.45 GHz. A dielectric waveguide having a hardness of 85 or more.

The core wire preferably has a dielectric constant of 2.20 or less at 2.45 GHz.

The present invention includes a step of paste extrusion molding a mixture of unfired PTFE powder and an extrusion aid to obtain an unfired core wire, the unfired core wire is brought into close contact with the surface of a metal article, and the unfired A step of fixing both ends of the core wire, a step of obtaining a semi-fired core wire by firing the unfired core wire at 320 to 340 ° C. for 10 seconds to 180 minutes, and a coating layer made of metal around the semi-fired core wire It is also a method for manufacturing a dielectric waveguide, characterized in that it includes a step of providing.

Hereinafter, the present invention will be specifically described.

The dielectric waveguide of the present invention includes a core wire and a covering layer.

In the dielectric waveguide of the present invention, the core wire is made of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), the dielectric tangent (tan δ) at 2.45 GHz of the core wire is 0.00020 or less, and the hardness of the core wire is 85 or more. This is a feature.

The hardness is more preferably 90 or more. The upper limit is not particularly limited, but may be 99. Since the dielectric waveguide line has the hardness of the core wire in the above range, the dielectric constant hardly changes even if it is bent.

The hardness is a hardness according to JIS A. The hardness is measured with a spring-type hardness meter (JIS-A type) specified in JIS K6301-1975 for a core wire having a diameter of 2 mm.

The dielectric loss tangent (tan δ) is preferably 0.00015 or less, and more preferably 0.00010 or less. The lower limit of the dielectric loss tangent (tan δ) is not particularly limited, but may be 0.00001. The core wire has a low dielectric loss tangent despite having a high hardness.

The core wire preferably has a dielectric constant of 2.20 or less at 2.45 GHz, more preferably less than 2.15, still more preferably 2.10 or less, and 2.00 or less. Is particularly preferred. The lower limit is not particularly limited, but may be 1.10. When the dielectric constant is within the above range, excellent transmission efficiency can be obtained.

The dielectric constant and the dielectric loss tangent are values obtained by measuring changes in resonance frequency and electric field strength at a temperature of 20 to 25 ° C. using a network analyzer HP8510C and a 2.45 GHz cavity resonator.

The core wire preferably has a standard deviation of dielectric constant at 2.45 GHz of 0.080 or less, more preferably 0.050 or less, still more preferably 0.030 or less, and 0.025 or less. It is more preferable that Although a minimum is not specifically limited, It can be set to 0.010. The standard deviation of the dielectric constant being in the above range means that no variation is observed in the measured numerical value even when the dielectric constant is measured at a plurality of locations. Reflection occurs at the interface between two media having different dielectric constants. Therefore, if the dielectric constant of the core wire differs depending on the location, part of the millimeter wave or submillimeter wave is reflected without being transmitted, and transmission efficiency is impaired. When the standard deviation of the dielectric constant of the core wire is within the upper range, high transmission efficiency can be realized. A core wire having a small standard deviation of dielectric constant can be manufactured by a very special manufacturing method. Details will be described later.

The standard deviation of the dielectric constant of the core wire is calculated from five dielectric constants obtained by measuring the dielectric constant of five samples (length: 110 mm) cut from the core wire. Each of the five samples is cut from the core wire with an interval of 190 mm.

The core wire preferably has a specific gravity of 1.70 or more, and more preferably 1.80 or more. The upper limit is not particularly limited, but may be 2.25. When the specific gravity of the core wire is within the above range, the change in dielectric constant when bent is very small.

The specific gravity is measured by a submerged weighing method (based on JIS Z 8807).

The core wire is made of PTFE. The PTFE may be a homopolymer of TFE or a modified PTFE modified with other monomers.

The modified PTFE is PTFE composed of tetrafluoroethylene [TFE] and a monomer other than TFE (hereinafter also referred to as “modifier”). The modified PTFE may be uniformly modified or a modified PTFE having a core-shell structure.

The modified PTFE is composed of a TFE unit based on TFE and a modifier unit based on a modifier. In the modified PTFE, the modifier unit is preferably 0.005 to 1% by mass of the total monomer units. More preferably, it is 0.02-0.5 mass%.

In the present specification, the “modifier unit” is a part of the molecular structure of the modified PTFE, and means a repeating unit derived from a comonomer used as a modifier. The above modifier unit is represented by — [CF 2 —CF (—OC 3 F 7 )] —, for example, when perfluoropropyl vinyl ether is used as the modifier, and — [CF 2 when hexafluoropropylene is used. 2 -CF (-CF 3 )]-.

The modifier is not particularly limited as long as it can be copolymerized with TFE. For example, a perfluoroolefin such as hexafluoropropylene [HFP]; a chlorofluoroolefin such as chlorotrifluoroethylene [CTFE]; Examples thereof include hydrogen-containing fluoroolefins such as trifluoroethylene and vinylidene fluoride [VDF]; perfluorovinyl ether; perfluoroalkylethylene and ethylene. Moreover, 1 type may be sufficient as the modifier used, and multiple types may be sufficient as it.

CF=CF−ORf
There are no particular restrictions regarding the aforementioned perfluorovinyl ethers, for example, the following general formula CF 2 = CF-ORf
(Wherein Rf represents a perfluoro organic group), and the like. In the present specification, the “perfluoro organic group” means an organic group in which all hydrogen atoms bonded to carbon atoms are substituted with fluorine atoms. The perfluoro organic group may have ether oxygen.

Examples of the perfluorovinyl ether include perfluoro (alkyl vinyl ether) [PAVE] in which Rf is a perfluoroalkyl group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms in the above general formula. The perfluoroalkyl group preferably has 1 to 5 carbon atoms.

Examples of the perfluoroalkyl group in the PAVE include a perfluoromethyl group, a perfluoroethyl group, a perfluoropropyl group, a perfluorobutyl group, a perfluoropentyl group, and a perfluorohexyl group. The group is preferably a perfluoropropyl group. That is, the PAVE is preferably perfluoro (propyl vinyl ether) [PPVE].

As the perfluorovinyl ether, Rf is a perfluoro (alkoxyalkyl) group having 4 to 9 carbon atoms, and Rf is represented by the following formula:

Figure 2016195295
Figure 2016195295

(Wherein m represents an integer of 0 or 1 to 4), and Rf is a group represented by the following formula:

Figure 2016195295
Figure 2016195295

(In the formula, n represents an integer of 1 to 4).

The perfluoroalkylethylene (PFAE) is not particularly limited, and examples thereof include perfluorobutylethylene (PFBE) and perfluorohexylethylene.

The modifying agent in the modified PTFE is preferably at least one selected from the group consisting of HFP, CTFE, VDF, PAVE, PFAE, and ethylene. PAVE is more preferable, and PPVE is still more preferable.

The modified PTFE may have a core-shell structure composed of a particle core and a particle shell.

The PTFE preferably has fibrillation properties. The presence or absence of fibrillation can be determined by “paste extrusion” which is a typical method for forming “high molecular weight PTFE powder” which is a powder made from a TFE polymer. Usually, paste extrusion is possible because high molecular weight PTFE has fibrillation properties. In the case where an unfired molded product obtained by paste extrusion does not have substantial strength or elongation, for example, when the elongation breaks when pulled at 0%, it can be considered that there is no fibrillation property.

The PTFE preferably has non-melt secondary workability. The non-melt processability means a property that the melt flow rate cannot be measured at a temperature higher than the crystallization melting point in accordance with ASTM D-1238 and D-2116.

The PTFE preferably has a standard specific gravity [SSG] of 2.13 to 2.23, and preferably 2.14 to 2.19. The standard specific gravity is a value measured by a water displacement method according to ASTM D-792 using a sample molded according to ASTM D-489598.

The PTFE preferably has a first melting point of 333 to 347 ° C. More preferably, it is 335-345 degreeC. The first melting point corresponds to the maximum value in the heat of fusion curve when the temperature is increased at a rate of 10 ° C./minute using a differential scanning calorimeter [DSC] for PTFE that has not been heated to a temperature of 300 ° C. or higher. Temperature.

Moreover, it is also possible to use high molecular weight PTFE and low molecular weight PTFE as the PTFE. The use of two types of PTFE having different molecular weights is advantageous in that a core wire having a small standard deviation in dielectric constant can be easily manufactured. The high molecular weight PTFE has a first melting point of preferably 333 to 347 ° C, and more preferably 335 to 345 ° C. The low molecular weight PTFE has a first melting point of preferably 322 to 333 ° C, and more preferably 324 to 330 ° C. The first melting point corresponds to the maximum value in the heat of fusion curve when the temperature is increased at a rate of 10 ° C./minute using a differential scanning calorimeter [DSC] for PTFE that has not been heated to a temperature of 300 ° C. or higher. Temperature.

The core wire may include other components. Examples of the other components include surfactants, antioxidants, light stabilizers, fluorescent brighteners, colorants, pigments, dyes, fillers, and the like. Moreover, powders or fiber powders of carbon black, graphite, alumina, mica, silicon carbide, boron nitride, titanium oxide, bismuth oxide, bronze, gold, silver, copper, nickel, and the like are also included.

The core wire may include high dielectric constant inorganic particles as the other component. Examples of the high dielectric constant inorganic particles include barium titanate, calcium titanate, strontium titanate, magnesium titanate, lead titanate, zinc titanate, lead zirconate, calcium zirconate, strontium zirconate, and barium zirconate titanate. And lead zirconate titanate.

Even if the core wire contains a resin other than the PTFE and the other components, the core wire is preferably composed of 99.0% by mass or more of the PTFE with respect to the core wire, and 99.9% by mass. More preferably, it is made of the above PTFE.

The core wire may have a substantially rectangular, substantially circular, or substantially elliptical cross section, but is preferably substantially circular. The core wire may have a diameter of 0.1 to 30 mm, 0.5 to 5 mm, 1.8 to 2.2 mm, or about 2.0 mm.

It is preferable that the said core wire is obtained by baking unbaked PTFE without the log | history heated to 320 degreeC or more at 320-340 degreeC for 10 second-180 minutes. PTFE obtained by firing under these conditions is sometimes referred to as semi-fired PTFE. The above-mentioned dielectric loss tangent and hardness are achieved by semi-baking green PTFE. When completely fired, a core wire having a low dielectric loss tangent cannot be obtained, and when the firing is insufficient, a core wire having high hardness cannot be obtained. The firing temperature is more preferably 340 ° C. or lower and lower than the first melting point of the unfired PTFE. The unsintered PTFE preferably has no history of heating to 300 ° C. or higher.

The firing is preferably performed by leaving an unfired core wire whose firing shrinkage is limited by a method such as fixing both ends in an electric furnace. In addition, an unfired core wire whose firing shrinkage is limited by a method such as fixing both ends may be fired in a salt bath or a sand bath.
If an unfired core wire of 1 m or more is to be continuously fired with a salt bath, it is necessary to feed it at a constant speed and to further pull it out in order to reduce the deviation of the dielectric constant in the length direction. that time,
Tension is applied from the salt bath to the core wire that has reached a high temperature near the melting point, and is partially stretched.
Therefore, it is difficult to produce a core wire that cannot be uniformly fired and has a small standard deviation in dielectric constant. That is, since it is difficult to uniformly fire the unsintered PTFE while uniformly stretching, firing using a salt bath in which both ends of the core wire are not fixed is not preferable.

More preferably, the firing is performed in a state where the unfired core wire is in close contact with the surface of a metal article and both ends of the unfired core wire are fixed. When fired by this method, a core wire having a small standard deviation in dielectric constant can be obtained.

The unfired core wire is preferably obtained by paste extrusion molding a mixture of unfired PTFE powder and an extrusion aid. Alternatively, the extrusion aid may be removed by drying the obtained extrudate after paste extrusion molding. The above mixture may be obtained by mixing unfired PTFE powder and an extrusion aid by a known method, aging for 1 to 24 hours, and preforming at a pressure of 0.1 to 2.0 MPa. Good. The paste extrusion can be performed at an extrusion pressure of 2 to 100 MPa.

The coating layer is provided around the core wire and is made of metal. The metal is preferably at least one selected from the group consisting of copper, copper alloy, aluminum, aluminum alloy, iron, iron alloy and silver.

A step of obtaining a green core wire by paste extrusion molding a mixture of a powder of green PTFE and an extrusion aid, bringing the green core wire into close contact with the surface of a metal article, and both ends of the green core wire A step of fixing, a step of obtaining a semi-fired core wire by firing the unfired core wire at 320 to 340 ° C. for 10 seconds to 180 minutes, and a step of providing a coating layer made of metal around the semi-fired core wire The manufacturing method of the dielectric waveguide characterized by including it is also one aspect of the present invention.

The dielectric waveguide of the present invention can be manufactured by the above manufacturing method. The manufacturing method may include a step of drying the green core wire and removing the extrusion aid.

The unsintered PTFE is PTFE having no history of heating to 320 ° C. or higher, and preferably PTFE having no history of heating to 300 ° C. or higher.

The metal article is not particularly limited as long as it is an article that conducts heat, and the shape is not limited. Examples of the metal article include a stainless steel pipe and an aluminum plate.

By bringing the green core wire into close contact with the surface of the metal article, heat can be uniformly transmitted to the green core wire, and the green core wire can be uniformly fired. Moreover, by fixing both ends of the unfired core wire, the unfired core wire can be uniformly contracted when the unfired core wire is fired. Therefore, it is possible to manufacture a dielectric waveguide line having a core wire with a small standard deviation of dielectric constant. As a method for fixing the unfired core wire to the surface of a metal article and fixing both ends, the unfired core wire is wound around a metal pipe and the both ends are connected, and the unfired core wire is pressed against a metal plate. The method of fixing both ends in a state can be mentioned.

After the unfired core wire is brought into close contact with the surface of a metal article and both ends are fixed, a semi-fired core wire is obtained by firing at 320 to 340 ° C. for 10 seconds to 180 minutes. The semi-fired core wire is a core wire made of semi-fired PTFE. The firing is performed while the unfired core wire is brought into close contact with the surface of the metal article and both ends of the unfired core wire are fixed. In this firing, the unfired core wire is uniformly fired and further shrinks uniformly, so that a core wire having a small standard deviation in dielectric constant can be obtained.

In the present specification, the semi-fired core wire may be simply referred to as “core wire”. The semi-fired core wire has the above-described dielectric loss tangent and hardness. The semi-fired core wire can also have the above-described dielectric constant, standard deviation of dielectric constant, or specific gravity.

The manufacturing method may include a step of obtaining the semi-fired core wire, separating the semi-fired core wire and the metal article, and collecting the semi-fired core wire.

A dielectric waveguide is manufactured by providing a coating layer made of metal around the semi-fired core wire. The following method can be mentioned as a method of providing a coating layer.
(1) Cover the semi-fired core wire with a copper tube and narrow the copper tube using a drawing die so that the inner diameter matches the outer diameter of the semi-fired core wire.
(2) Plating (electroless) the semi-fired core wire.
(3) Cover the semi-fired core wire with a metal braided wire.
(4) Wrap a metal tape around the semi-fired core wire.

First, the dielectric constant, dielectric loss tangent and hardness of the obtained sample are measured. As shown in FIG. 3, the obtained sample 2 is installed between the round bar 3a and the round bar 3b (FIG. 3 (a)). Both the round bar 3a and the round bar 3b have a diameter of 10 mm. Sample 2 is wound around round bar 3a and bent 270 degrees (FIG. 3B), and then sample 2 is returned to a straight line (FIG. 3C). Next, after winding the sample 2 around the round bar 3b and bending it 270 degrees (FIG. 3D), the sample 2 is returned to the straight line (FIG. 3E). Repeat this 10 times. Then, the dielectric constant is measured. The results are shown in Table 2.

This quantitatively measures the increase in reflection due to the bending of the waveguide line. The smaller the change in dielectric constant before and after the bending, the smaller the impedance change, and the smaller the reflection loss. The change in dielectric constant due to this 270-degree reciprocal bending is preferably 0.7% or less, and more preferably 0.4% or less.
