Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an optical scanning apparatus that scans an object to be scanned with a light beam, and an image forming apparatus including the optical scanning apparatus.
For example, in an electrophotographic image forming apparatus, the surface of a photoreceptor (scanned body) is uniformly charged, and then the surface of the photoreceptor is scanned with a light beam to form an electrostatic latent image on the surface of the photoreceptor. The electrostatic latent image on the surface of the photoconductor is developed with toner, a toner image is formed on the surface of the photoconductor, and the toner image is transferred from the photoconductor to a recording sheet.
The photoconductor surface is scanned by the light beam by an optical scanning device. In this optical scanning device, a light emitting element such as a semiconductor laser that emits a light beam, a cylindrical lens, a polygon mirror that reflects and deflects the light beam, an fθ lens, and a plurality of light beams that are guided and incident on the surface of the photoreceptor. The surface of the photosensitive member is scanned with the deflected light beam to form an electrostatic latent image on the surface of the photosensitive member. Further, the spot diameter of the light beam on the surface of the photosensitive member is reduced by a cylindrical lens or an fθ lens to prevent the image quality from being deteriorated.
For example, in Patent Document 1, two light beams emitted from one light emitting element are passed through two cylindrical lenses, and the pitch of each light beam can be adjusted by changing the separation distance of each cylindrical lens. I am doing so.
In Patent Document 2, the cylindrical lens is moved in a direction approaching or separating from the polygon mirror to adjust the spot diameter of the light beam on the surface of the photoreceptor.
By the way, in the optical scanning device, when the light beam is deflected by the polygon mirror, the deflected light beam scans the effective scanning area on the surface of the photosensitive member, and an electrostatic latent image is formed in the effective scanning area. In addition, the fθ lens is positioned so that the light beam scanning the effective scanning region does not deviate from the effective optical region of the fθ lens (region where the optical characteristics effectively act on the light beam). Further, the fθ lens and the cylindrical lens are positioned relative to each other in order to reduce the spot diameter of the light beam on the surface of the photoreceptor.
If the effective scanning area on the surface of the photoconductor is simply enlarged, the light beam may deviate from the effective optical area of the fθ lens. Further, when the position of the fθ lens is changed so that the light beam passes through the effective optical region of the fθ lens, the spot diameter of the light beam on the surface of the photoreceptor increases. For this reason, the effective scanning area on the surface of the photoreceptor cannot be easily changed, and conventionally, the effective scanning area has been fixed.
In Patent Documents 1 and 2, the cylindrical lens is moved, but only the pitch of the two light beams is adjusted, or the spot diameter of the light beam on the surface of the photoconductor is adjusted. It is not necessary to enlarge or change the effective scanning area on the surface of the photoreceptor.
Therefore, the present invention has been made in view of the above-described conventional problems, and is capable of changing the effective scanning area of the scanned object while maintaining the spot diameter of the light beam of the scanned object small. An object is to provide an apparatus and an image forming apparatus including the apparatus.
In order to solve the above problems, an optical scanning device of the present invention causes a light beam emitted from a light source to enter a deflecting unit via a first optical member, deflects the light beam by the deflecting unit, and performs the deflection. An optical scanning device that causes the scanned light beam to enter the scanned object via a second optical member and scans the scanned object with the deflected light beam, wherein the light beam is generated by the first optical member. The in-focus position of the light beam is shifted from the incident position of the light beam in the deflection unit in the traveling direction of the light beam, and the in-focus position of the light beam spot by the second optical member is The first optical member and the second optical member are positioned so as to coincide with the incident position of the beam.
In such an optical scanning device, when the effective scanning area of the object to be scanned is enlarged, the light beam that scans the effective scanning area does not deviate from the effective optical area of the second optical member. It is necessary to change the position in a direction away from the scanning target (in the direction opposite to the traveling direction of the light beam). However, if only the position of the second optical member is changed, the focused position of the light beam spot by the second optical member is shifted from the incident position of the light beam on the scanned object, and the spot of the light beam on the scanned object is shifted. The diameter increases. Therefore, in the present invention, the in-focus position of the light beam spot by the first optical member is intentionally shifted from the incident position of the light beam in the deflecting unit in the traveling direction of the light beam. As a result, the second optical member is displaced in the direction opposite to the traveling direction of the light beam to a position where the light beam does not deviate from the effective optical region of the second optical member, and at the same time, the spot of the light beam by the second optical member. It is possible to reduce the spot diameter of the light beam on the scanned object by making the in-focus position coincide with the incident position of the light beam on the scanned object.
Here, in general, the in-focus position of the light beam spot by the first optical member coincides with the incident position of the light beam in the deflecting unit. This is because, when the focal position of the light beam spot by the first optical member deviates from the incident position of the light beam in the deflecting unit, the spot diameter of the light beam in the deflecting unit increases, and the optical required for the deflecting unit is increased. This is because the accuracy becomes very high. On the other hand, in the present invention, since the focal position of the light beam spot by the first optical member is deviated from the incident position of the light beam in the deflecting portion in the traveling direction of the light beam, the light beam is the second optical member. The position of the second optical member is changed in a direction away from the scanned object (in a direction opposite to the traveling direction of the light beam) so that the second optical member does not deviate from the effective optical region of the optical element. The focal position can be made coincident with the incident position of the light beam on the scanned object.
In the optical scanning device of the present invention, the light beam emitted from the light source is incident on the deflecting unit through the first optical member, the light beam is deflected by the deflecting unit, and the deflected light beam is converted into the first light beam. 2. An optical scanning device that is incident on a scanned object through two optical members and scans the scanned object with the deflected light beam, wherein the first is in a direction toward or away from the deflecting unit. A first displacement section for displacing the optical member; and a second displacement section for displacing the second optical member in a direction approaching or separating from the scanned object.
In the present invention, the first optical member can be displaced in a direction approaching or separating from the deflection unit by the first displacement unit, and the second displacement unit can be moved closer to the scanning object or The second optical member can be displaced in the separating direction. Therefore, as described above, the focal position of the light beam spot by the first optical member is intentionally shifted from the incident position of the light beam in the deflecting unit, and the light beam is out of the effective optical region of the second optical member. Instead, the first optical member and the second optical member can be positioned so that the focal position of the light beam spot by the second optical member coincides with the incident position of the light beam on the scanning target.
For example, in the optical scanning device of the present invention, the first optical member is a cylindrical lens having a condensing characteristic in a direction orthogonal to a scanning direction of the scanned object by the light beam, and the second optical member is , An fθ lens having condensing characteristics in the orthogonal direction.
In the optical scanning device according to the aspect of the invention, the first displacement portion may be provided at a plurality of positions different from each other in a direction approaching or separating from the deflection portion to position the first optical member. A plurality of second positioning portions provided at a plurality of positions different from each other in a direction approaching or separating from the scanned object, and positioning the second optical member; It has a positioning part.
In this case, the first optical member is positioned at any one of the first positioning portions of the first displacement portion, and the second optical member is positioned at any of the second positioning portions of the second displacement portion.
For example, in the optical scanning device of the present invention, when the second optical member is displaced in a direction away from the scanned body, the first optical member is displaced in a direction approaching the deflection unit.
In the optical scanning device of the present invention, the position of the first optical member in a direction approaching or separating from the deflecting unit and the second optical in a direction approaching or separating from the scanned body. The member has an enlargement mode and a standard mode that are different from each other. In the enlargement mode, the second optical member is displaced in a direction away from the scanned body with respect to the standard mode, and the first optical The member is displaced in a direction approaching the deflection unit. Furthermore, the scanning mode of the scanned object by the light beam deflected by a certain angle by the deflecting unit is wider in the enlargement mode than in the standard mode.
By selectively setting such a standard mode and an enlargement mode, it becomes easy to make the effective scanning area on the surface of the photoreceptor a standard size or a larger size.
On the other hand, an image forming apparatus according to the present invention includes the optical scanning device according to the present invention, and forms a latent image on a scanned object by the optical scanning device, and develops the latent image on the scanned object into a visible image. Then, the visible image is transferred and formed from the scanned body onto a sheet.
Even in such an image forming apparatus, the same effects as those of the optical scanning apparatus of the present invention can be obtained.
In the present invention, the focal position of the light beam spot by the first optical member is intentionally shifted from the incident position of the light beam in the deflecting unit in the traveling direction of the light beam.
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the accompanying drawings.

In such an
By the way, the maximum size of the recording paper is slightly different depending on the use situation of the image forming apparatus 1, and the effective scanning area (electrostatic latent image forming area) of each

FIG. 5 shows a two-dimensional plane of the optical path of the light beam BM:
First, as shown in FIG. 5, when the effective scanning area of the
In this standard mode, while the light beam BM is deflected by the angle α1 by the
FIG. 6A is a schematic diagram showing the optical path of the light beam BM from the
Further, when the
In such a standard mode, when focusing only on the sub-scanning direction X, the focal position Ga1 of the spot of the light beam BM by the
Next, as shown in FIG. 5, when the effective scanning area of the
In this enlargement mode, while the light beam BM is deflected by the angle α2 (> α1) by the
FIG. 6B is a schematic view showing the optical path of the light beam BM from the
In addition, when the
In such an enlargement mode, when focusing only on the sub-scanning direction X, the focal position Ga2 of the spot of the light beam BM by the
Here, in the standard mode, the in-focus position Ga1 of the spot of the light beam BM by the
However, in the enlargement mode, the light beam BM is shifted from the reflecting surface of the
Further, when the effective scanning area of the
Next, a mechanism for displacing the
First, as shown in FIG. 4,
9 and 10 are a perspective view and a sectional view schematically showing the
The head of each
Further, as shown in FIG. 11, for each
12 and 13, the
Further, as shown in FIGS. 15A and 15B, the
Similarly, as for the
Further, as shown in FIG. 16,
Similarly, with respect to the
