Description

The present invention relates to an image display body and an information medium having a highly secure anti-counterfeit function that is easy to determine with the naked eye.

In general, securities such as gift certificates and checks, cards such as credit cards, cash cards and ID cards, and certificates such as passports and licenses must be printed with ordinary printed materials to prevent counterfeiting. The display body which has a different visual effect is affixed. In recent years, the distribution of counterfeit goods has become a social problem for articles other than these. Therefore, the opportunity to apply the same forgery prevention technology to such articles is increasing.

As a display body having a visual effect different from that of a normal printed material, a display body including a diffraction grating in which a plurality of grooves are arranged is known. For example, the display body can display an image that changes according to the observation condition, or can display a stereoscopic image. Further, the spectral color shining in rainbow colors expressed by the diffraction grating cannot be expressed by a normal printing technique. Therefore, a display body including a diffraction grating is widely used for articles that require anti-counterfeiting measures.

For example, Patent Document 1 describes that a pattern is displayed by arranging a plurality of diffraction gratings having different groove length directions or lattice constants (that is, groove pitches). When the relative position of the observer or the light source with respect to the diffraction grating changes, the wavelength of the diffracted light reaching the observer's eyes changes. Therefore, when the above configuration is adopted, an image that changes to a rainbow color can be expressed.
In a display body using a diffraction grating, a relief type diffraction grating formed with a plurality of grooves is generally used. The relief type diffraction grating is usually obtained by duplicating from an original plate manufactured using photolithography.

In the above-mentioned Patent Document 1, as a method for producing an original plate of a relief type diffraction grating, a flat substrate coated with a photosensitive resist on one main surface is placed on an XY stage, and the stage is controlled under computer control. A method for pattern exposure of a photosensitive resist by irradiating the photosensitive resist with an electron beam while moving is described. In addition, the master of the diffraction grating can be formed using two-beam interference.

In the manufacture of a relief type diffraction grating, usually, an original plate is first formed by such a method, and a metal stamper is prepared therefrom by a method such as electroforming. Next, using this metal stamper as a matrix, a relief type diffraction grating is duplicated. That is, first, for example, a thermoplastic resin or a photocurable resin is applied on a thin transparent substrate in the form of a film or sheet made of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) or polycarbonate (PC). Next, a metal stamper is brought into close contact with the coating film, and heat or light is applied to the resin layer in this state. After the resin is cured, the metal stamper is peeled from the cured resin to obtain a replica of the relief type diffraction grating.

Generally, this relief type diffraction grating is transparent. Therefore, usually, a reflective layer is formed on a resin layer provided with a relief structure by depositing a metal such as aluminum or a dielectric in a single layer or multiple layers by vapor deposition.
Then, the display body obtained in this way is affixed on the base material which consists of paper or a plastic film through an adhesive layer or an adhesion layer, for example. As described above, a display body with anti-counterfeit measures is obtained.

An original plate used for manufacturing a display including a relief type diffraction grating is difficult to manufacture. Further, the transfer of the relief structure from the metal stamper to the resin layer must be performed with high accuracy. That is, high technology is required for manufacturing a display body including a relief type diffraction grating.
However, as a result of the use of display bodies including relief-type diffraction gratings in many articles that require anti-counterfeiting measures, this technology has been widely recognized, and as a result, the occurrence of counterfeiting of the display bodies themselves has increased. Tend to. For this reason, it has become difficult to achieve a sufficient anti-counterfeiting effect using a display body that is characterized only by exhibiting iridescent light by diffracted light.

Patent Document 2 relates to a layer structure that realizes a visual effect of a known lens structure. Patent Document 3 relates to an optical variable element having a visual effect that appears to be bent or depressed toward the front side of the surface of a support.
Both Patent Document 2 and Patent Document 3 are differentiated by a visual effect different from a general relief type diffraction grating, and a higher forgery prevention effect can be expected.

As described above, the layer structures and optical variable elements described in Patent Document 2 and Patent Document 3 can be differentiated from the visual effect of the conventional diffraction grating pattern. However, compared with a diffraction grating, the structure pattern is complicated, and in order to express an arbitrary picture, it is necessary to design and prepare the structure pattern every time, and the work is very complicated. It becomes.

In addition, since the structure pattern becomes more complicated as the design becomes higher definition, the data amount of the structure pattern design data becomes larger. Therefore, the higher the definition of the pattern to be expressed, the more difficult it is to handle data.
The present invention has been made in view of the above points, and an object thereof is to provide an image display body and an information medium having both a characteristic visual effect different from that of a conventional diffraction grating and higher designability.

Hereinafter, one embodiment of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings. In addition, the same referential mark is attached | subjected to the component which exhibits the same or similar function through all the drawings, and the overlapping description is abbreviate | omitted.
FIG. 1 is a plan view schematically showing an image display body according to an aspect of the present invention.
FIG. 2 is a cross-sectional view taken along line AA of the image display body shown in FIG.
The image display body 10 includes a light transmission layer 11 and a light reflection layer 14. In the example shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, a plurality of structural regions 12 a and non-structural regions 13 are provided on one surface of the light transmission layer 11. The plurality of structural regions 12a are arranged in a matrix.

In the example shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the display body 10 includes three structural regions 12a and three structural regions 12b. However, the number of the structural regions is not limited to six.
In the example shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the light reflecting layer 14 is provided so as to cover the entire structure regions 12 a and 12 b and the non-structure region 13, but the light reflecting layer 14 is at least a part of the structure region. It suffices if it is provided so as to cover.

In the example shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the structure region 12a is composed of only the concave portion, but may actually be composed of only the convex portion, or may be composed of both the concave portion and the convex portion. Moreover, these recessed parts and convex parts are formed in the linear form with which the direction was equal, for example. In other words, the structure region 12a is a region having a concavo-convex structure composed of a plurality of linear concave portions and / or convex portions aligned in the direction.
In the example shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the light transmission layer 11 itself has a plurality of recesses. However, in practice, the light transmission layer is laminated on one surface of the flat light transmission layer 11. A concave portion and / or a convex portion may be provided.

In the example shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the structure area 12a and the structure area 12b are arranged in a checkered pattern, but in actuality, the arrangement of the structure area is dithered based on a stereoscopic original image or a planar original image. Is set using. In other words, the distance between the concave and convex portions of the concavo-convex structure and / or between the convex portions and / or the distance between the concave and convex portions, the depth and / or height of the concavo-convex structure, and the extending direction of the concavo-convex structure , And at least one of the areas of the structural region 12a is set using dithering based on a stereoscopic original image or a planar original image.
In addition, since the arrangement | positioning method of the structure pattern and structure area | region set using dithering based on it as a stereo original image or a plane original image is mentioned later, here, FIG.1 and FIG.2 which simplified arrangement | positioning of the structure area | region is used here. It explains using.

Examples of the material of the light transmission layer 11 include polycarbonate resin, acrylic resin, fluorine acrylic resin, silicone acrylic resin, epoxy acrylate resin, polystyrene resin, cycloolefin polymer, methylstyrene resin, fluorene resin, PET, polypropylene, and the like. Photocurable resin, or thermosetting resin such as acrylonitrile styrene copolymer resin, phenol resin, melamine resin, urea resin, alkyd resin, or thermoplastic resin such as polypropylene resin, polyethylene terephthalate resin, polyacetal resin, etc. Is mentioned.
By forming the desired concavo-convex structure and curing the above-described material, the concavo-convex structure can be molded.

All cured products of these resins are light transmissive and generally have a refractive index of about 1.5.
As the material of the light reflecting layer 14, a transparent film or a metal film can be used. When the material of the light reflecting layer 14 is a transparent film, a dielectric layer, a dielectric multilayer film, or a high refractive index material having a refractive index different from that of the light transmitting layer 11 can be used. As the transparent film, for example, ZnS, TiO 2 , PbTiO 2 , ZrO, ZnTe, PbCrO 4 having a refractive index of 2.0 or more is preferable. This is because when the difference in refractive index from the light transmission layer 11 is small, the visual effect of the light emitted from the concavo-convex structure is weakened. Specifically, the refractive index difference between the light transmission layer 11 and the transparent film is preferably at least 0.5 or more.

In addition, when the material of the light reflecting layer 14 is a metal film, a simple substance selected from chromium, nickel, aluminum, iron, titanium, silver, gold, copper, a mixture thereof, an alloy, or the like should be used. Can do.

Here, in the Fresnel lens 22 shown in FIGS. 5 and 6, the change in the lens height (Z direction size) includes a gentle change according to the position in the X direction, and the lens height from the maximum value to the minimum value. Either a value or a sudden change from a minimum value to a maximum value. In the Fresnel lens 22 shown in FIG. 5, a portion where the lens height changes gently is not particularly shown, and a portion where the lens height changes abruptly is shown as a solid line.
Incident light 23 is incident on the convex lens 21 shown in FIG. 4, and reflected light 24 corresponding to the incident light 23 is emitted from the convex lens 21.

Similarly, incident light 23 is also incident on the Fresnel lens 22 shown in FIG. 5, and reflected light 24 corresponding to the incident light 23 is emitted from the Fresnel lens 22.
Here, the surfaces of the convex lens 21 and the Fresnel lens 22 shown in FIGS. 3 to 6 are described as mirror surfaces. Actually, the surfaces of the convex lens and the Fresnel lens do not necessarily have to be mirror surfaces, and may be transmissive lenses. Here, in order to simplify the description, only an example of a reflective lens is shown and described, but the same applies to a transmissive lens.

The exit angle of the reflected light 24 is determined by the normal direction of the incident surface and the incident angle. Here, it is assumed that the curvature of the convex lens 21 shown in FIGS. 3 and 4 is the same as the curvature of the portion where the lens height gradually changes in the Fresnel lens 22 shown in FIGS. 5 and 6. At this time, if the incident angles of the incident light incident on the convex lens 21 and the Fresnel lens 22 are the same, the emission angles of the reflected light emitted from the convex lens 21 and the Fresnel lens 22 are the same.
That is, by making the lens curvature the same, the Fresnel lens 22 can function as the same lens as the convex lens 21.

Therefore, when an observer observes the Fresnel lens 22, the observer projected on the mirror surface and its periphery can be enlarged or reduced by the magnification or reduction projection function of the lens, or as if a curved surface exists. Can be observed as if
Here, as is apparent from FIGS. 4 and 6, in the case of the Fresnel lens 22, the height of the lens (size in the Z direction) can be made smaller than that of the convex lens 21 having the same function.

That is, if the Fresnel lens 22 is used, the lens film thickness can be further reduced while having substantially the same function as a normal lens. The Fresnel lens 22 shown in FIG. 6 has a thickness that is approximately one-fourth that of the convex lens 21 shown in FIG. 4, but it can be made thinner by increasing the number of divisions in the region. .
Up to this point, the Fresnel lens 22 has been described with reference to FIGS. 3 to 6. On the other hand, by dividing the region by the same method, various free-form surfaces can be expressed as thin films, not limited to lenses. That is, it is possible to produce an image display body that represents various free-form surfaces on a thinned plane.

However, in order to express various free-form surfaces, there are the following problems.
An example of a method for producing the Fresnel lens 22 is cutting. However, in order to make the film thinner, as described above, the number of divisions of the region must be increased. Therefore, in order to express a very fine image, there is a method of forming irregularities on the photosensitive material using an electron beam.
The exposure method of the electron beam drawing apparatus can be roughly classified into three types: a point beam method, a variable rectangular method, and a partial batch exposure method.

In the point beam method, an electron beam emitted from an electron gun is continuously irradiated in synchronization with movement of a deflector and an XY stage. While this method can draw a fine pattern, the throughput is poor because the irradiation area per shot is small.
Therefore, the main application of the point beam method is research and development and is not suitable for mass production. As a method for mass production, a variable rectangular method or a combination of a partial batch exposure method and a variable rectangular method is used.

FIG. 7 is a plan view schematically showing a Fresnel lens composed of a plurality of structural regions.
The Fresnel lens 22 shown in FIG. 7 is single and has a structure region 12c divided into 5 × 5 on the XY plane. The structure area 12c corresponds to a pixel in the image. The single Fresnel lens 22 includes a plurality of structural regions 12c so that an image is expressed as a set of a plurality of pixels.

The structural region 12c shown in FIG. 7 has no structural region having the same structural pattern, and has different structural patterns. For this reason, it is necessary to individually design the structure pattern for each structure region, and this work becomes very complicated.
For example, when a specific image is expressed by regularly arranging structure regions having the same structure pattern, the image data can be compressed at a high compression rate. On the other hand, in the case of the Fresnel lens 22 shown in FIG. 7, since there is no structural region having the same structural pattern, it is difficult to compress the data at a high compression rate.

FIG. 8 is a plan view schematically showing a structural pattern of one of the structural regions shown in FIG.
The structural region 12c shown in FIG. 8 corresponds to the structural region located at the upper left in FIG.
As described above, the exposure method of an EB (electron beam drawing apparatus) used for mass production is generally a variable rectangular method or a combination of a partial batch exposure method and a variable rectangular method. Therefore, all the structural patterns indicated by the curves in FIG. 7 are drawn by a combination of a plurality of minute rectangles as shown in FIG.

If the curve is expressed by a combination of a plurality of minute rectangles, a jaggy-generated figure as shown in FIG. 8 is obtained. At this time, since a plurality of rectangles having different sizes are combined, it is necessary to change the aperture every time the image is drawn. Even if the variable rectangle method is used, the drawing time becomes very long. In addition, there are many methods for combining rectangles of different sizes, and it is difficult to efficiently use the partial batch exposure method.
In addition, since rectangles of different sizes are irregularly arranged, it is difficult to compress the data at a high compression rate.

On the other hand, the structural regions 12a and 12b shown in FIG. 1 are diffraction grating patterns. In the case of a diffraction grating, the original structure pattern is a straight line structure, and therefore the amount of data does not become extremely difficult to compress by replacing the pattern with a rectangle.
Needless to say, the direction of the grid is parallel to the X-axis or Y-axis, and even in the case of other grid angles, it can be replaced with a relatively limited number of rectangular pattern combinations, and the arrangement method is also compared. Become regular.
That is, when the structure pattern of the Fresnel lens 22 shown in FIG. 7 is directly replaced with a rectangular pattern, the amount of data becomes very large and the drawing time is long, so the drawing load is very large. Become.

On the other hand, in the case of a simple diffraction grating pattern, the amount of data can be suppressed because data compression is relatively easy. In addition, it can be replaced with a limited number of rectangular patterns. Therefore, the drawing load is relatively light.
FIG. 9 is a plan view schematically showing an image display body according to an aspect of the present invention.
In the example shown in FIG. 9, the display body 10 includes 25 structural regions 12d.
Incidentally, the 25 structural regions 12d provided in FIG. 9 are obtained by replacing the structural region 12c shown in FIG. 7 with a simple diffraction grating pattern.

Each of the structural regions 12c shown in FIG. 7 has a structure that emits emitted light in a specific direction. By the way, in the case of a diffraction grating, the emission direction of emitted light is determined by the angle and pitch of the grating. Since each of the structural regions 12c shown in FIG. 7 has a curved structure pattern, the exit direction of the emitted light is not uniquely determined as in the case of a diffraction grating, and is emitted depending on the range in which the incident light is incident. The direction will be different.
Here, the image display body 10 shown in FIG. 9 is configured by determining a representative emission direction of the emitted light emitted from each structural region 12c and setting a diffraction grating corresponding to the emission direction.

Each of the structural regions 12c shown in FIG. 7 is composed of a combination of rectangles having different sizes. On the other hand, any of the structural regions 12d shown in FIG. 9 can be configured by a combination of rectangles of a single size. Therefore, when the structure area 12c shown in FIG. 7 is compared with the structure area 12d shown in FIG. 9, the structure area 12d has a smaller amount of data and a shorter drawing time for the reasons described above. That is, it can be said that the drawing load is smaller in the structure area 12d than in the structure area 12c.

10 and 11 are plan views schematically showing an image display body according to an aspect of the present invention.
The image display body 10 shown in FIG. 10 includes four types of structure regions 12e, 12f, 12g, and 12h, all of which are diffraction grating patterns.
The pitch of the lattice becomes finer in the order of the structural regions 12e, 12f, 12g, and 12h. For example, when the linear Fresnel lens structural pattern is replaced with a diffraction grating pattern in the same manner as in FIG. 9, the pitch gradually changes as in the image display body 10 shown in FIG.

The image display body 10 shown in FIG. 11 includes two types of structural regions 12e and 12h, and both have the same structural pattern as the structural regions 12e and 12h illustrated in FIG.
Here, the pitches of the diffraction grating patterns included in the structural regions 12e, 12f, 12g, and 12h are 500 lines / mm, 1000 lines / mm, 1500 lines / mm, and 2000 lines / mm, respectively.
The image display body 10 shown in FIG. 10 includes a 4 × 6 structural region on the XY plane, that is, a 6 × 4 structural region. Further, the first column, the second column, the third column, and the fourth column are referred to in order from the leftmost column. This calling method is the same in FIG.

At this time, the spatial frequencies of the structural regions included in the first row, the second row, the third row, and the fourth row are 500 lines / mm, 1000 lines / mm, 1500 lines / mm, and 2000 lines / mm, respectively.
Similarly, the image display body 10 shown in FIG. 11 includes a 4 × 6 structure region. The first column, the second column, the third column, and the fourth column all have six structural regions, and the average values of the spatial frequencies of the structural regions included in the respective columns are 500 lines / mm and 1000 lines / mm, respectively. 1500 / mm and 2000 / mm.

That is, it can be said that the spatial frequencies of the structural regions included in each of the image display body 10 shown in FIG. 10 and the image display body shown in FIG.
12 and 13 are plan views schematically showing an image display body according to an aspect of the present invention.
Here, the grating angles of the diffraction gratings included in the structural regions 12i, 12j, 12k, and 12l are set to 0 °, 22.5 °, 45 °, and 67.5 °, respectively.

The grid angles of the structural regions included in the first row, the second row, the third row, and the fourth row of the image display body 10 shown in FIG. 12 are 0 °, 22.5 °, 45 °, and 67.5 °, respectively. is there.
In the image display body 10 shown in FIG. 13, the average values of the lattice angles of the structural regions included in each column are 0 °, 22.5 °, 45 °, and 67.5 °, respectively.
That is, it can be said that the lattice angles of the structural regions provided in each of the image display body 10 shown in FIG. 12 and the image display body shown in FIG.

As described above, it can be said that FIGS. 10 and 11 and FIGS. 12 and 13 have similar visual effects. Incidentally, each of the image display bodies 10 shown in FIGS. 10 and 12 includes four types of structure regions. On the other hand, the image display body 10 shown in FIGS. 11 and 13 includes two types of structure regions.
That is, the type of the structural area provided in the image display body 10 shown in FIGS. 11 and 13 is less than the type of the structural area provided in the image display body 10 shown in FIGS. Have.

By the way, generally, by using dithering in image expression, gradation expression exceeding the number of colors to be used can be simulated.
As described above, the structure area corresponds to a pixel in the image.
Therefore, it can be said that the arrangement of the structural areas included in the image display body 10 shown in FIGS. 11 and 13 is obtained by dithering the arrangement of the structural areas included in the image display bodies shown in FIGS. 10 and 12. . The dithering referred to here is performed on the value of the spatial frequency in FIG. 11, and is performed on the value of the lattice angle in FIG. The image display 10 shown in FIGS. 11 and 13 is a schematic diagram, and the arrangement method of the structural area included in the image display 10 is not calculated according to a specific algorithm, and the description is simplified. Therefore, it is determined for convenience.

As described above, there are significant problems in expressing various free-form surfaces.
The first point is that the amount of data increases. However, according to the present embodiment, the number of rectangles at the time of drawing can be reduced and data that can be compressed with a high compression rate can be created, so that the amount of data can be significantly reduced.
The second point is that the drawing time becomes longer. However, according to the present embodiment, it is possible to greatly reduce the drawing time by reducing the number of rectangles at the time of drawing and reducing the types of rectangle sizes.

The third point is that there are many types of structure areas, and data creation is complicated. However, according to the present embodiment, by using dithering, the types of structural regions can be remarkably reduced, and data creation is simplified. Moreover, it leads to an increase in the regular structure pattern, that is, it leads to a reduction in data amount and a drawing time.
That is, according to the present embodiment, it is possible to greatly reduce the load of manufacturing the structure pattern without impairing the high definition and visual effect of the image.

So far, the diffraction grating has been described as an example. However, the structural pattern that can be implemented in the present invention is not limited to the diffraction grating.
FIG. 14 is a plan view schematically showing a structural pattern according to one aspect of the present invention.
In the structure pattern 15 shown in FIG. 14, linear concavo-convex structures parallel to the Y axis are arranged at random intervals. The structural pattern is a structural pattern that can be implemented as one embodiment of the present invention.

FIG. 15 is a cross-sectional view schematically showing a structural pattern according to an aspect of the present invention.
Up to this point, the structure pattern that can be implemented in the present invention has been described based on a binary structure having two levels of depth as shown in FIG. 2, for example. However, the structure pattern that can be implemented in the present invention is not limited to the binary structure.
FIG. 15 is a cross-sectional view of a structural pattern 15b having a sawtooth cross-sectional shape. The structural pattern 15b can also be employed as a structural pattern that can be implemented in the present invention. Here, the above-mentioned “cross-sectional shape” refers to a cross-sectional shape when a linear concavo-convex structure parallel to the Y-axis is cut along the X-axis.

In the case of the sawtooth-shaped structure pattern 15b, it is possible to eliminate the emitted light that becomes a virtual image or to make it extremely weak. Therefore, according to the present embodiment, it is possible to provide an image display body and an information medium having higher design properties by using the structural pattern 15b having a sawtooth cross-sectional shape.
The structure pattern 15b shown in FIG. 15 is a blazed lattice. In the case of a blazed grating, it is possible to further suppress the emitted light that becomes a virtual image, and it is possible to make the desired emitted light stronger. Therefore, according to the present embodiment, it is possible to provide an image display body and an information medium having higher design properties by using the structure pattern 15b as a blazed grating.

By the way, although the blazed grating has been exemplified and described as the sawtooth structure pattern 15b, it is not limited to the blazed grating as long as it has a sawtooth structure. For example, a pattern having a random interval such as the structure pattern 15a shown in FIG.
FIG. 16 is a cross-sectional view schematically showing a structural pattern according to an aspect of the present invention.
A structure pattern 15c shown in FIG. 16 is a step-like pattern in which the height of the structure gradually changes. Even when the step-like pattern is used, the emission light that becomes a virtual image can be eliminated or significantly weakened, as in the case of the sawtooth structure.

Meanwhile, the structural height of the structural pattern 15b shown in FIG. 15 continuously changes, while the structural height of the structural pattern 15c shown in FIG. 16 is quantized.
As described above, the exposure method of an EB (electron beam drawing apparatus) used for mass production is generally a variable rectangular method or a combination of a partial batch exposure method and a variable rectangular method. Therefore, the staircase shape such as the structural pattern 15c shown in FIG. 16 can be more easily produced than the sawtooth pattern shown in FIG.

Therefore, according to the present embodiment, an image display body and an information medium having higher design properties can be more easily obtained by using a staircase pattern in which the depth and / or height of the uneven structure is gradually changed. It becomes possible to provide.
Generally, the wavelength range of visible light is generally in the range of 380 nm to 750 nm. Hereinafter, the wavelength of visible light is expressed as “λ”.

By the way, the display method of the image display body 10 according to the present embodiment is roughly classified into two types, a reflection type and a transmission type.
In the case of the reflection type, the brightest observation is possible when the depth of the deepest portion or the height of the highest portion of the concavo-convex structure with respect to the surface of the light transmission layer 11 is λ / 2. On the other hand, in the case of the transmission type, the brightest observation is possible when the optical path length of the deepest portion or the highest portion of the concavo-convex structure with respect to the surface of the light transmission layer 11 is λ. When observing with a transmission type, it is usually an air layer that forms an interface with the concavo-convex structure molded with a resin. In general, the refractive index of the resin is about 1.5, and the refractive index of the air layer is about 1.0. Therefore, the actual distance when the optical path length is λ when observing in the transmission type is 2λ.
Therefore, according to the present embodiment, the depth of the deepest part or the height of the highest part of the concavo-convex structure with respect to the surface of the light transmission layer 11 is within a range of 190 nm or more and 1.5 μm or less. It is possible to provide an image display body and an information medium.

By the way, when the observer observes the image display body 10 at a position 300 mm away from the eye, generally, the resolution of the human eye having a visual acuity of 1.0 is 1 minute. Therefore, a structure of 87 μm or less cannot be decomposed. Therefore, if the length of one side of the structural region is set to 87 μm or less, the structural regions cannot be decomposed and observed. Therefore, by setting the length of one side of the structural region to 87 μm or less, it is possible to provide an image display body and an information medium having higher design properties.

In the present embodiment, the case where dithering is performed based on a three-dimensional original image has been described, but the present invention is not limited to this. The original image used for dithering may be a “planar original image (planar original image)” instead of the “stereo original image” described above. With the image display according to the present embodiment, even when dithering is performed based on a planar original image, the same operational effects as when dithering is performed based on a stereoscopic original image can be achieved.
