Abstract
Description
本発明は、リミテッドスリップディファレンシャルを潤滑する方法に関し、上記方法は、上記リミテッドスリップディファレンシャルに、(a)潤滑粘度の油、および(b)ジカルボン酸のC4〜30−ジエステルを含む潤滑組成物を供給する工程を包含する。本発明は、代表的には、リミテッドスリップディファレンシャルにおける、摩擦調整剤としての上記ジカルボン酸のC4〜30−ジエステルの使用をさらに提供する。
車両におけるリミテッドスリップディファレンシャルは、代表的には、湿式マルチプレートクラッチを使用し、すなわち、クラッチプレートは、潤滑剤中に浸漬されている。上記リミテッドスリップディファレンシャルは、代表的には、それらの回転速度とは無関係に2つの駆動ホイールに対して均一に駆動トルクを分布させるベベルギアまたはスパーギア遊星形システム(planetary system)を有する。このことは、上記駆動されたホイールが、それらの異なる回転速度にも拘わらず、上記ホイールと道路表面との間の空転(slip)なしに曲がる間に回転することを可能にする。上記空転が制御されるように、摩擦性能、分散剤および硫黄含有極圧剤および/またはリン含有極圧剤を改善し得る化合物を含む潤滑剤が、使用され得る。このタイプの潤滑剤の例は、特許文献1、特許文献2、特許文献3、特許文献4、および特許文献5に開示されている。
本発明は、上記で開示される潤滑組成物および方法を提供する。
本明細書で開示されるジカルボン酸のC4〜30−ジエステルとしては、グルタル酸、アジピン酸、ピメリン酸、スベリン酸、アゼライン酸、ブラシル酸、ドデカン二酸、タプシン酸、またはそれらの混合物のC4〜30−ジエステルが挙げられ得る。一実施形態において、本明細書で開示されるジカルボン酸のC4〜30−ジエステルは、アジピン酸のC4〜30−ジエステルであり得る。
一実施形態において、上記潤滑組成物は、リン含有化合物をさらに含む。上記リン含有化合物は、リン酸エステルのアミン塩であり得る。上記リン酸エステルのアミン塩を調製するために利用される上記リン酸は、リン酸、またはチオリン酸のいずれかであり得る。

上記リミテッドスリップディファレンシャルは、代表的には、差動ハウジング(differential housing)またはキャリア中に堆積した潤滑剤から分離された自給式潤滑剤供給と一体化する。上記リミテッドスリップディファレンシャルの自給式潤滑剤は、一般に、マニュアルトランスミッションまたはオートマチックトランスミッション流体に供給される潤滑剤とは異なる。リミテッドスリップディファレンシャルを含まないマニュアルトランスミッションシステムおよびオートマチックトランスミッションシステムの両方において、潤滑剤は、上記トランスミッション構成要素の全てを潤滑するのに十分である。
Claims (23)
- リミテッドスリップディファレンシャルを潤滑する方法であって、該方法は、
該リミテッドスリップディファレンシャルに、(a)潤滑粘度の油、および(b)アジピン酸のC4〜30−ジエステルを含む潤滑組成物を供給する工程を包含する、方法。 - 前記アジピン酸のC4〜30−ジエステルは、前記潤滑組成物のうちの0.01重量%〜1重量%未満、または0.02重量%〜0.9重量%、または0.05重量%〜0.5重量%、または0.1重量%〜0.3重量%で存在する、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記アジピン酸のC4〜30−ジエステルは、前記潤滑組成物のうちの0.01重量%〜1重量%未満で存在する、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記ジエステルのアルコール由来部分は、C8〜20、またはC10〜15、またはC13である、請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載の方法。

- 前記リン化合物(代表的には、リン酸エステルのアミン塩)は、前記潤滑組成物のうちの0.05重量%〜4.5重量%、または0.1重量%〜2重量%、または0.25重量%〜1重量%で存在する、請求項7〜10のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記潤滑組成物は、(a)潤滑粘度の油、およびアジピン酸のC4〜30−ジエステルからなる摩擦調整剤パッケージ、および0.05重量%〜4.5重量%のリン含有化合物を含む、請求項1〜7のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記潤滑粘度の油は、APIグループIIIもしくはAPIグループIVの基油、またはそれらの混合物である、請求項1〜12のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 硫黄含有化合物をさらに含む、請求項1〜13のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記硫黄含有化合物は、ジメルカプトチアジアゾールまたはその誘導体、またはそれらの混合物である、請求項14に記載の方法。
- 前記硫黄含有化合物は、ポリスルフィドまたは硫化オレフィンである、請求項14に記載の方法。
- 前記リン含有化合物は、リン酸エステルのアミン塩である、請求項7に記載の方法。
- 前記リン酸エステルのアミン塩は、(i)リン酸のヒドロキシ置換されたジエステル、(ii)リン酸のリン酸化されヒドロキシ置換されたジエステルまたはトリエステル、または(iii)それらの混合物、のアミン塩である、請求項17に記載の方法。
- 前記潤滑組成物は、ホウ素含有化合物をさらに含む、請求項1〜18のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記ホウ素含有化合物は、ホウ酸化分散剤、ホウ酸エステル、またはホウ酸化リン脂質、代表的には、ホウ酸化リン脂質である、請求項19に記載の方法。
