Description

The present invention relates to a variable nozzle unit or the like that can change the flow area (flow rate) of exhaust gas supplied to a turbine impeller side in a variable displacement supercharger.

In recent years, various developments have been made on variable nozzle units disposed so as to surround a turbine impeller between a turbine scroll passage and a gas discharge port in a turbine housing of a variable capacity turbocharger. A person has already developed and applied for a variable nozzle unit (see Patent Document 1, etc.). The specific configuration of the variable nozzle unit according to the prior art is as follows.

A nozzle ring is disposed in the turbine housing, and a plurality of first support holes are formed through the nozzle ring at equal intervals in the circumferential direction. A shroud ring that covers the outer edges of a plurality of turbine blades in the turbine impeller is provided integrally with the nozzle ring at a position facing the nozzle ring in the axial direction of the turbine impeller. The plurality of second support holes are formed at equal intervals in the circumferential direction so as to align with the plurality of first support holes of the nozzle ring.

Between the opposed surface of the nozzle ring and the opposed surface of the shroud ring, a plurality of variable nozzles are arranged at equal intervals in the circumferential direction, and each variable nozzle has an axis parallel to the axis of the turbine impeller. It can be rotated in the forward / reverse direction (open / close direction). In addition, a first nozzle shaft that is penetrated and supported by a corresponding first support hole of the nozzle ring is integrally formed on the side surface of each variable nozzle on the one axial side, and the other axial side of each variable nozzle is formed on the other side. A second nozzle shaft supported by a corresponding second support hole of the shroud ring is integrally formed on the side surface of the shroud ring coaxially with the first nozzle shaft. A link mechanism for synchronously rotating the variable nozzles in the forward and reverse directions is disposed on the opposite surface side of the opposed surface of the nozzle ring. The link mechanism includes a plurality of variable nozzles. The first nozzle shaft is linked to the first nozzle shaft. Here, if the plurality of variable nozzles are rotated synchronously in the forward direction (opening direction), the flow area of the exhaust gas supplied to the turbine impeller side increases, and the plurality of variable nozzles are reversed (closed). When the exhaust gas is rotated in synchronization with the direction, the flow area of the exhaust gas is reduced.

The opposite surface side of the facing surface of the nozzle ring communicates with the turbine scroll flow path. In addition, an annular seal cover is provided between the outer edge of the shroud ring and the turbine housing to hermetically seal the opposite side of the opposed surface of the turbine scroll flow path and the shroud ring. The opposite side of the surface communicates with the outlet side of the turbine impeller.

Therefore, since the opposite surface side of the opposed surface of the nozzle ring communicates with the turbine scroll flow path, and the opposite surface side of the opposed surface of the shroud ring communicates with the outlet side of the turbine impeller, during operation of the variable displacement supercharger, The pressure acting on the end surface of the second nozzle shaft in each variable nozzle is made sufficiently smaller than the pressure acting on the end surface of the first nozzle shaft, and each variable nozzle is brought closer to the facing surface side of the shroud ring by the pressure difference, The side clearance between the side surface on the other axial side of the variable nozzle and the facing surface of the shroud ring can be minimized. This suppresses leakage flow from the side surface on the other axial side of each variable nozzle and the facing surface of the shroud ring, and follows the tip side portion (the portion from the midspan side to the tip side) of the turbine blade. Turbine efficiency can be improved by stabilizing the flow of exhaust gas.

By the way, in the variable nozzle unit according to the prior art, as described above, it is possible to suppress the leakage flow from between the side surface on the other axial side of each variable nozzle and the facing surface of the shroud ring. Although the turbine efficiency of the turbocharger can be improved, the exhaust gas flows into the spaces of the plurality of second support holes of the shroud ring during the operation of the variable displacement turbocharger, and the opposite surface of the shroud ring May flow out to the outlet side of the turbine impeller via the opposite surface side. Therefore, there is a problem that it is difficult to improve the turbine efficiency of the variable capacity supercharger to a high level because the work amount of the turbine impeller is reduced.

Therefore, an object of the present invention is to provide a variable nozzle unit having a novel configuration that can solve the above-described problems.

According to a first aspect of the present invention, a turbine impeller is disposed between a turbine scroll passage and a gas discharge port in a turbine housing of a variable displacement turbocharger, and is supplied to the turbine impeller side. In a variable nozzle unit having a variable flow area (flow rate) of exhaust gas, a nozzle ring disposed in the turbine housing and having a plurality of first support holes formed at equal intervals in the circumferential direction; Provided integrally with the nozzle ring at a position opposed to the nozzle ring in the axial direction of the turbine impeller so that the plurality of second support holes align with the plurality of first support holes of the nozzle ring. A shroud ring formed at equal intervals in the circumferential direction and covering the outer edges of a plurality of turbine blades in the turbine impeller, and the nozzle ring facing each other Between the opposite surfaces of the shroud ring and circumferentially spaced from each other, and can be rotated in the forward and reverse directions around an axis parallel to the axis of the turbine impeller. A first nozzle shaft that is penetrated and supported by the corresponding first support hole of the nozzle ring is integrally formed on the side surface of the nozzle ring, and is supported by the corresponding second support hole of the shroud ring on the other side surface in the axial direction. A plurality of variable nozzles in which the second nozzle shaft is integrally formed coaxially with the first nozzle shaft, and the first surface of the plurality of variable nozzles. A link mechanism (synchronization mechanism) that is linked to a nozzle shaft and rotates the plurality of variable nozzles in the forward and reverse directions in synchronism with each other. Connected to the turbine scroll passage Therefore, an annular lid member is provided on the opposite surface of the shroud ring so as to close the openings of the plurality of second support holes, and the space of the plurality of second support holes is formed in the shroud ring. A bleed passage for bleeding exhaust gas from is formed, and an outlet end (termination) of the bleed passage is downstream of an axis of the second nozzle shaft of the variable nozzle (axis of the first nozzle shaft) And it makes it a summary to communicate with the upstream rather than the exit of the said turbine impeller.

In the specification and claims of the present application, “arranged” means not only directly disposed but also indirectly disposed through another member. In addition, the term “provided” means that it is indirectly provided through another member in addition to being directly provided. Further, “upstream” means upstream when viewed from the flow direction of the main flow of exhaust gas, and “downstream” means downstream when viewed from the flow direction of the main flow of exhaust gas. Further, “communicating to the downstream side of the axis of the second nozzle shaft of the variable nozzle and upstream of the outlet of the turbine impeller” is communicated to the inlet side of the turbine impeller. And communicating with the downstream side of the inlet of the turbine impeller and the upstream side of the outlet of the turbine impeller.

According to the first feature, when the engine speed is in a high engine speed range and the exhaust gas flow rate is large, by rotating the plurality of variable nozzles synchronously in the positive direction (opening direction), A large amount of exhaust gas is supplied by increasing the gas passage area of the exhaust gas supplied to the turbine impeller side. On the other hand, when the engine speed is in the low speed range and the flow rate of the exhaust gas is small, the plurality of variable nozzles are rotated in the reverse direction (closed direction) in synchronism with the turbine impeller side. The gas flow passage area of the supplied exhaust gas is reduced, and the flow rate of the exhaust gas is increased. Accordingly, the rotational force can be generated sufficiently and stably by the turbine impeller regardless of the flow rate of the exhaust gas.

Here, the opposite side of the nozzle ring facing surface communicates with the turbine scroll flow path, and the outlet end of the extraction passage communicates with the downstream side of the axis of the second nozzle shaft of the variable nozzle. Therefore, during operation of the variable capacity supercharger, the pressure acting on the end face of the second nozzle shaft in each variable nozzle is made sufficiently smaller than the pressure acting on the end face of the first nozzle shaft, The variable nozzle is brought close to the facing surface side of the shroud ring by the pressure difference, and the side clearance between the side surface on the other axial side of each variable nozzle and the facing surface of the shroud ring can be minimized. As a result, the leakage flow from between the side surface on the other axial side of each variable nozzle and the facing surface of the shroud ring is suppressed, and the tip side portion of the turbine blade (portion from the midspan side to the tip side) The flow of exhaust gas along can be stabilized.

Since the annular lid member is provided on the surface opposite to the opposing surface of the shroud ring so as to close the openings of the plurality of second support holes, the plurality of second support holes of the shroud ring have bottoms. In this state, the exhaust gas that has flowed into the spaces of the plurality of second support holes of the shroud ring can be prevented from flowing out to the opposite side of the opposed surface of the shroud ring. In addition, since the outlet end of the extraction passage communicates with the upstream side of the outlet of the turbine impeller, the exhaust gas that has flowed into the spaces of the plurality of second support holes of the shroud ring is introduced into the turbine impeller ( Between adjacent turbine blades). Thereby, the flow of the exhaust gas that bypasses the turbine impeller can be reduced as much as possible, and the work amount of the turbine impeller can be sufficiently secured.

According to a second aspect of the present invention, in the variable capacity supercharger that supercharges the air supplied to the engine side using the energy of the exhaust gas from the engine, the variable nozzle unit having the first feature is provided. The main point is that

According to the 2nd characteristic, there exists an effect | action similar to the effect | action by a 1st characteristic.

According to the present invention, the flow of exhaust gas along the tip side portion of the turbine blade is stabilized by suppressing leakage flow from the side surface on the other axial side of each variable nozzle and the facing surface of the shroud ring. At the same time, the flow of exhaust gas that bypasses the turbine impeller can be reduced as much as possible, and the work amount of the turbine impeller can be sufficiently secured. Therefore, the turbine efficiency of the variable displacement supercharger can be improved to a high level. .

Further, an annular step 41 is formed on the inlet side of the gas discharge port 39 in the turbine housing 27.

An annular heat shield plate 43 that shields heat from the turbine impeller 29 side is provided on the left side surface of the bearing housing 3, and between the left side surface of the bearing housing 3 and the outer edge portion of the heat shield plate 43. The specific configuration of the variable nozzle unit 47 is as follows.

As shown in FIG. 1, a nozzle ring 49 is disposed concentrically with the turbine impeller 29 via a mounting ring 51 in the turbine housing 27, and the inner peripheral edge of the nozzle ring 49 is a wave washer 45. It is fitted in a state of being pressed against the outer peripheral edge of the heat shield plate 43 by the urging force. The nozzle ring 49 is formed with a plurality (only one shown) of first support holes 53 penetrating at equal intervals in the circumferential direction. The outer peripheral edge of the mounting ring 51 is sandwiched between the bearing housing 3 and the turbine housing 27.

A shroud ring 55 is integrated with the nozzle ring 49 and concentrically with the turbine impeller 29 via a plurality of connecting pins 57 at positions facing the nozzle ring 49 in the left-right direction (the axial direction of the turbine impeller 29). Is provided. Further, in the shroud ring 55, a plurality of second support holes 59 are formed at equal intervals in the circumferential direction so as to align with the plurality of first support holes 53 of the nozzle ring 49 (see FIG. 3). Further, the shroud ring 55 has a cylindrical shroud portion 61 that covers the outer edges of the plurality of turbine blades 33 on the inner peripheral edge side. The shroud portion 61 of the shroud ring 55 is disposed on the gas discharge port 39 side (downstream side). ) And is located inside the step portion 41 of the turbine housing 27. The plurality of connecting pins 57 have a function of setting an interval between the facing surface of the nozzle ring 49 and the facing surface of the shroud ring 55.

As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, a plurality of variable nozzles 63 are arranged at equal intervals in the circumferential direction between the facing surface of the nozzle ring 49 and the facing surface of the shroud ring 55. The nozzle 63 is rotatable in the forward / reverse direction (opening / closing direction) around an axis parallel to the axis C of the turbine impeller 29. Further, a first nozzle shaft 65 that is rotatably supported in a corresponding first support hole 53 of the nozzle ring 49 is integrally formed on the right side surface (the side surface on one axial side of the turbine impeller 29) of each variable nozzle 63. Each of the variable nozzles 63 is formed with a first nozzle flange 67 that can come into contact with the opposing surface of the nozzle ring 49 on the base end side of the first nozzle shaft 65. Further, on the left side surface of each variable nozzle 63 (the side surface on the other side in the axial direction of the turbine impeller 29), a second nozzle shaft 69 supported by a corresponding second support hole 59 of the shroud ring 55 is a first nozzle shaft 65. Each variable nozzle 63 has a second nozzle flange 71 that can contact the opposing surface of the shroud ring 55 on the base end side of the second nozzle shaft 69.

As shown in FIG. 1, in a ring-shaped link chamber 73 formed on the opposite side of the opposed surface of the nozzle ring 49, a plurality of variable nozzles 63 are rotated in synchronization in the forward and reverse directions (opening and closing directions). A link mechanism (synchronization mechanism) 75 is provided, and this link mechanism 75 is linked to the first nozzle shafts 65 of the plurality of variable nozzles 63. The link mechanism 75 has a known configuration shown in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2009-243431, Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2009-243300, and the like, and is a motor or cylinder that rotates a plurality of variable nozzles 63 in the opening / closing direction. Is connected via a power transmission mechanism 77 to a rotating actuator (not shown).

Next, the main part of the configuration of the variable nozzle unit 47 according to the first embodiment of the present invention will be described.

As shown in FIGS. 1 to 3, a plurality (only one is shown) of through holes 79 are formed in the attachment ring 51, and a plurality of attachment rings 51 are arranged on the opposite side of the opposite surface of the nozzle ring 49. This is communicated with the turbine scroll passage 37 through the through hole 79. Further, the opposite side of the facing surface of the shroud ring 55 communicates with the turbine scroll flow path 37, and a ring groove (circumferential groove) 81 is formed on the outer peripheral surface of the shroud portion 61 of the shroud ring 55. Yes. Further, a plurality of seal rings 83 that suppress leakage of exhaust gas from the turbine scroll flow path 37 side are provided on the inner peripheral surface of the step portion 41 of the turbine housing 27 with its own elastic force (elastic force of the plurality of seal rings 83). The inner peripheral edge of each seal ring 83 is fitted in the ring groove 81 of the shroud ring 55.

An annular mounting groove 85 is formed on the surface opposite to the facing surface of the shroud ring 55, and a plurality of second support holes 59 are communicated with the bottom surface (back surface) of the mounting groove 85 of the shroud ring 55. An annular communication groove 87 is formed as a communication path. An annular lid member 89 is provided in the mounting groove 85 of the shroud ring 55 so as to close (cover) the openings of the plurality of second support holes 59 and the communication grooves 87. The member 89 is pressed against the bottom surface of the mounting groove 85 of the shroud ring 55 by the pressure acting on the opposite surface side of the facing surface of the shroud ring 55 during operation of the variable displacement supercharger 1. Instead of pressing the lid member 89 against the bottom surface of the mounting groove 85 of the shroud ring 55, the lid member 89 may be fixed in the mounting groove 85 of the shroud ring 55 by laser welding or the like.

The shroud ring 55 is formed with an extraction passage (exhaust passage) 91 for extracting (exhausting) exhaust gas from the spaces of the plurality of second support holes 59. Further, the inlet end (starting end) of the bleed passage 91 communicates with the inside of the communication groove 87, in other words, the space of the plurality of second support holes 59, and the outlet end (termination) of the bleed passage 91 is It communicates with the inlet side of the turbine impeller 29. In the first embodiment of the present invention, the number of extraction passages 91 is one, but a plurality of extraction passages 91 may be provided.

Then, the effect | action and effect of 1st Embodiment of this invention are demonstrated.

Exhaust gas introduced from the gas introduction port 35 flows from the inlet side to the outlet side of the turbine impeller 29 via the turbine scroll flow path 37, so that a rotational force (rotational torque) is generated using the pressure energy of the exhaust gas. Thus, the rotor shaft 9 and the compressor impeller 13 can be rotated integrally with the turbine impeller 29. Thereby, the air introduced from the air inlet 19 can be compressed and discharged from the air outlet 25 via the diffuser passage 21 and the compressor scroll passage 23, and the air supplied to the engine is supercharged. (Compressed).

During operation of the variable displacement supercharger 1, when the engine speed is in the high rotation range and the flow rate of exhaust gas is large, the link mechanism 75 is operated by the rotating actuator while the variable nozzles 63 are operated. By rotating in synchronization with the positive direction (opening direction), the gas flow passage area of the exhaust gas supplied to the turbine impeller 29 side (the throat area of the variable nozzle 63) is increased, and a large amount of exhaust gas is supplied. To do. On the other hand, when the engine speed is in the low rotation range and the flow rate of exhaust gas is small, the link mechanism 75 is operated by the rotating actuator and the variable nozzles 63 are synchronized in the reverse direction (closed direction). By rotating the turbine impeller 29, the gas passage area of the exhaust gas supplied to the turbine impeller 29 side is reduced, the flow rate of the exhaust gas is increased, and the work amount of the turbine impeller 29 is sufficiently ensured. Thereby, the rotational force can be generated sufficiently and stably by the turbine impeller 29 regardless of the flow rate of the exhaust gas.

Here, since the opposite surface side of the opposed surface of the nozzle ring 49 communicates with the turbine scroll passage 37 and the outlet end of the extraction passage 91 communicates with the inlet side of the turbine impeller 29, the variable displacement supercharging During the operation of the machine 1, the pressure acting on the end surface of the second nozzle shaft 69 in each variable nozzle 63 is made sufficiently smaller than the pressure acting on the end surface of the first nozzle shaft 65, and each variable nozzle 63 is shroud by the pressure difference. The side clearance between the left side surface of each variable nozzle 63 and the facing surface of the shroud ring 55 can be reduced as close as possible to the facing surface side of the ring 55. This suppresses leakage flow from between the left side surface of each variable nozzle 63 and the opposing surface of the shroud ring 55, and exhaust gas along the tip side portion (portion from the midspan side to the tip side) of the turbine blade 33. Can stabilize the flow.

Since the annular lid member 89 is provided on the opposite surface of the shroud ring 55 so as to close the openings of the plurality of second support holes 59, the plurality of second support holes 59 of the shroud ring 55 are provided with a bottom. In this state, the exhaust gas flowing into the spaces of the plurality of second support holes 59 of the shroud ring 55 can be prevented from flowing out to the opposite side of the facing surface of the shroud ring 55. Further, since the outlet end of the extraction passage 91 communicates with the inlet side of the turbine impeller 29, the exhaust gas flowing into the spaces of the plurality of second support holes 59 of the shroud ring 55 is allowed to enter the turbine impeller 29 (adjacent turbines). Between the blades 33). Thereby, the flow of the exhaust gas that bypasses the turbine impeller 29 can be reduced as much as possible, and the work amount of the turbine impeller 29 can be sufficiently secured.

Therefore, according to the first embodiment of the present invention, the leakage flow from between the left side surface of each variable nozzle 63 and the opposing surface of the shroud ring 55 is suppressed, and the exhaust gas along the tip side portion of the turbine blade 33 is suppressed. The flow of exhaust gas that bypasses the turbine impeller 29 is reduced as much as possible to stabilize the flow, and the work of the turbine impeller 29 can be sufficiently secured. Therefore, the turbine efficiency of the variable displacement turbocharger 1 is improved to a high level. Can be made.

Of the plurality of constituent elements in the variable nozzle unit 93, those corresponding to the constituent elements in the variable nozzle unit 47 are denoted by the same reference numerals in the drawing.

In the second embodiment of the present invention, the number of extraction passages 91 is one, but a plurality of extraction passages 91 may be provided.
