Abstract
【解決手段】ABSコンパウンド等の種々のポリマーコンパウンド中で有用なカーボンブラック、さらに該カーボンブラックおよびポリマーコンパウンドを製造する方法が記載される。該カーボンブラックは、望ましい黒色度および衝撃強さ、さらにポリマー中での良好な分散を与える。

Description
(a)ヨウ素数の約150から約600mg/g、
(b)DBP吸収量の約40から約90cc/100g、および
(c)窒素表面積/統計的厚さ表面積(N2SA/STSA)の約1.25から約1.70、
を有することを特徴とするカーボンブラックに関し、かつ該カーボンブラックは、さらに以下の特性、
(d)Terlon L*によって測定される黒色度が1.7以下、および/または
(e)水拡張圧が23.0J/m2以下、
の一方または両方を有する。
(a)コンパウンド切り欠きアイゾッド衝撃強さが13,600J/m2以上、および/または
(b)プレスアウト試験におけるコンパウンド分散等級が4.0以下、
の一方または両方を有するカーボンブラックに関する。
(a)コンパウンド切り欠きアイゾッド衝撃強さが13,600J/m2以上(他の範囲としては、約13,600J/m2から約18,000J/m2,約14,000から約17,000J/m2が挙げられる)、および/または
(b)プレスアウト試験におけるコンパウンド分散等級が4.0以下(他の範囲としては、例えば、約1.0から約4.0または約1.0から約3.0が挙げられる)
の一方または両方を有する。
色味(L*)プラーク:90x55x2mmのプラークを、射出成形機上の以下の温度設定を用いて色味分析のために準備した:ノズル=225℃,ゾーン1=235℃,ゾーン2=250℃,ゾーン3=250℃,成形=60℃。射出速度は20%であった。
”A” ”B”および”C”として特定される本発明の3つのカーボンブラックであって以下の表1に記載される特性を有するものを上記および表1に記載されるように調製した。これらのカーボンブラックは、以下の表で”X”および”Y”とされる、キャボットから市販で入手可能な2つのカーボンブラックと比較される。これらのカーボンブラックの各々に対する分析データは、同様に表中に記載されている。上記の手順を用い、これらのカーボンブラックのすべてを、ABSコンパウンド中に、該表でサンプル特定番号の次に示される充填量を用いて配合した。例えばカーボンブラック”X”は、ABSコンパウンドの全質量中のカーボンブラック充填量0.75質量%で配合し、カーボンブラック”X”はまた、コンパウンド全体中のカーボンブラック充填量0.5質量%等で配合した。比較として、いかなるカーボンブラックも含まないABSコンパウンド(以下の表で「純ABS」として表示される)を同様に分析した。上記の試験手順を用いて、コンパウンドされたポリマーの、切り欠きまたは非切り欠きアイゾッド衝撃強さ、プレスアウト分散等級、および黒色度(L*)等の種々の物理特性を、前述の手順を用いて測定した。表中に記載されるデータから分かるように、本発明のカーボンブラックでは、0.50%でコンパウンドされた際に、0.75%でコンパウンドされたカーボンブラック”X”と同等またはこれを超えるコンパウンド黒色度が得られた。加えて、本発明のカーボンブラックは、カーボンブラック”X”と同等またはより良好な黒色度を与えるようにコンパウンドされた際に、より優れた衝撃強さ(切り欠きおよび非切り欠きの両者)およびプレスアウト分散等級を有していた。このことは比較のカーボンブラック”Y”では見られず、カーボンブラック”Y”は、0.5%でコンパウンドされた際に、本発明のカーボンブラックと類似の黒色度を示したがより悪い衝撃強さおよびプレスアウト分散等級を示した。本発明のカーボンブラックは高表面積および強黒色度を有するが、易分散性を比較的維持している。
Claims (31)
- 以下の3つの特徴、
(a)ヨウ素数が約150から約600mg/g;
(b)DBP吸収量が約40から約90cc/100g;
(c)窒素表面積/統計的厚さ表面積の比が、約1.25から約1.70;
を含み、かつ以下のさらなる特性、
(d)Terlon L*により測定される黒色度値が1.7以下;および/または
(e)水拡張圧値が23.0mJ/m2以下、
の1つ以上を有する、カーボンブラック。 - 該ヨウ素数が約265から約600mg/gである、請求項1に記載のカーボンブラック。
- 該ヨウ素数が約350mg/gから約600mg/gである、請求項1に記載のカーボンブラック。
- 該ヨウ素数が約400mg/gから約600mg/gである、請求項1に記載のカーボンブラック。
- 該DBP吸収量が約50から約90cc/100gである、請求項1に記載のカーボンブラック。
- 該DBP吸収量が約60から約90cc/100gである、請求項1に記載のカーボンブラック。
- 該DBP吸収量が約70から約90cc/100gである、請求項1に記載のカーボンブラック。
- 該比が約1.30から約1.70である、請求項1に記載のカーボンブラック。
- 該比が約1.40から約1.70である、請求項1に記載のカーボンブラック。
- 該カーボンブラックが該黒色度値および該水拡張圧値を有する、請求項1に記載のカーボンブラック。
- 該黒色度値が約0.4から約1.7である、請求項1に記載のカーボンブラック。
- 該黒色度値が約0.4から約1.1である、請求項1に記載のカーボンブラック。
- 該水拡張圧値が約12.0から約23.0mJ/m2である、請求項1に記載のカーボンブラック。
- 該水拡張圧値が約12.0から約21.5mJ/m2である、請求項1に記載のカーボンブラック。
- 3ステップABSコンパウンド手順を用い、コンパウンド材の全質量を基にしたカーボンブラック充填量を1.5wt%以下としてABS中にコンパウンドしてコンパウンド材を形成したときのカーボンブラックが、コンパウンド材全体におけるコンパウンド黒色度であるコンパウンドL*の4.6以下を実現し、かつ該カーボンブラックは、該コンパウンド材が以下の特性、
(a)コンパウンド切り欠きアイゾッド衝撃強さが13,600J/m2以上、および/または
(b)プレスアウト試験におけるコンパウンド分散等級が4.0以下、
の一方または両方を有するように供給することができる、カーボンブラック。 - 該コンパウンド黒色度が3.0から4.6である、請求項15に記載のカーボンブラック。
- 該コンパウンド黒色度値が3.0から4.4である、請求項15に記載のカーボンブラック。
- 該コンパウンド切り欠きアイゾッド衝撃強さが約13,600J/m2から約18,000J/m2である、請求項15に記載のカーボンブラック。
- 該コンパウンド切り欠きアイゾッド衝撃強さが約14,000から約17,000J/m2である、請求項15に記載のカーボンブラック。
- 該コンパウンド分散等級が1.0から約4.0である、請求項15に記載のカーボンブラック。
- 該コンパウンド分散等級が約1.0から約3.0である、請求項15に記載のカーボンブラック。
- ABSと少なくとも1種の請求項1に記載のカーボンブラックとを含む、ABSコンパウンド。
- ABSと少なくとも1種の請求項15に記載のカーボンブラックとを含む、ABSコンパウンド。
- 少なくとも1種のポリマーと少なくとも1種の請求項1に記載のカーボンブラックとを含む、ポリマーコンパウンド。
- 少なくとも1種のポリマーと少なくとも1種の請求項15に記載のカーボンブラックとを含む、ポリマーコンパウンド。
- ABSと少なくとも1種のカーボンブラックとを含むABSコンパウンドであって、該ABSコンパウンドが、コンパウンドL*として測定される、コンパウンド材全体におけるコンパウンド黒色度の4.6以下を有し、かつ該ABSコンパウンドが、以下の特性、
(a)コンパウンド切り欠きアイゾッド衝撃強さが13,600J/m2以上、および/または
(b)プレスアウト試験におけるコンパウンド分散等級が4.0以下、
の一方または両方を有する、ABSコンパウンド。 - 該カーボンブラックが、該ABSコンパウンドの質量の約0.5%から約10wt%の量で存在する、請求項22に記載のABSコンパウンド。
- 該カーボンブラックが、該ポリマーコンパウンドの質量の約0.5wt%から約10wt%の量で存在する、請求項24に記載のポリマーコンパウンド。
- 少なくとも1種のポリマーと請求項1に記載のカーボンブラックとを含むポリマーマスターバッチまたはポリマー濃厚物であって、該カーボンブラックが、該ポリマーマスターバッチまたは該ポリマー濃厚物の全質量を基にして約10wt%から約50wt%の量で存在する、ポリマーマスターバッチまたはポリマー濃厚物。
- 少なくとも1種のポリマーと請求項15に記載のカーボンブラックとを含むポリマーマスターバッチまたはポリマー濃厚物であって、該カーボンブラックが、該ポリマーマスターバッチまたは該ポリマー濃厚物の全質量を基にして約10wt%から約50wt%の量で存在する、ポリマーマスターバッチまたはポリマー濃厚物。
- 該コンパウンド黒色度値が3.0から4.4であり、かつ該コンパウンド切り欠きアイゾッド衝撃強さが約14,000から約17,000J/m2である、請求項15に記載のカーボンブラック。
